Many North American Indian Tribes speak of tiny bipedal creatures known as The Little People or The Stick People. They are said to be about four feet tall and on many accounts, they are covered in hair. They are said to be bad and will throw things at you. Some tribes speak of them having spears, bows and arrows that they will use on humans. They are said to be harbingers of evil and may foretell of something bad coming to the human who sees them.Thomas Sewid will share about his Tribe The Kwakwaka’wakw from Northern Vancouver Island British Columbia beliefs and perspectives to what they call Bokwus. Bokwus is said to be The Chief of The Ghost World. He captures the souls of people that drown. Bokwus will also capture you and bring you into his world where it’s next to impossible to return to the warmth and love of your family.To this day the Bokwus is brought to life in the great Potlatch ceremonies of the Kwakwaka’wakw First Nation. A carved cedar mask depicting Bokwus accompanied with greenish and brown fur regalia. Thomas will share with us what one sees at Potlatch when Bokwus is out on the dance floor during Potlatch.Thomas and his wife Peggy operate Sasquatch Island. They have a website www.sasquatchisland.com and are on Facebook and YouTube as SASQUATCH ISLAND. They are well known performers at Sasquatch Conferences where they share the Bokwus regalia and stories. Thomas says people mixing up Bokwus being the Kwakwaka'wakw Sasquatch is what got him into the Sasquatch industry. He educates people that Dzunakwa is his Tribes Sasquatch and Bokwus is The Wildman of the Woods, a small hair covered bipedal creature.One will surely want to listen to Thomas as he shares with us about Bokwus also Known as Wildman of the Woods.
