Welcome to HUNGARY!!! 

 

The most notable region is Tokaji (toke-eye)*… though there are several other wine-producing regions… which seem to be widely unnoticed… I regret that we also do not take notice of them in this episode. A mistake to not be repeated by our listeners… I hope. 

 

A KEY aspect of Tokaji are its cool misty mornings which leads to NOBLE ROT (yes, really, rot) growing on the grapes. And that’s what makes their wines SWEET and DENSE and UNIQUE! Cool!

 

Then we talk about the things we fixate on…

Dan talks about buying less and then we pick apart frivolity vs materialism vs real enjoyment of the things you have 

Elodie talks about… surprise surprise… controlling everything. We talk about the power of letting things be as they are, even when that means making sacrifices

 

AND then the new spaces we end up with when our minds aren't so busy fixating on these things. NEW OPEN SPACES! FREEDOM! What do we do with it? That is to be determined…

ABOUT THE QUE SERA SYRAH PODCAST:

After many consecutive Sunday mornings at the wine bar discussing our wine obsessions and our personal lives, we thought to ourselves… do you think other people might care about this stuff? The answer to that question is still ambiguous. But we recorded a podcast anyway.
