that the Abbey Food and Bar in West Hollywood has officially been certified

as LGBTQ plus safe space. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
They worked with the Abbey to provide the necessary training,
policies, and standards to ensure the iconic gay bar is creating a safe space
for LGBTQ plus employees and customers while also advocating for equality.
In addition to completing a 10-step safe spaces certification program,

the Abbey's employees participated in a training component designed by Jennifer
Brown Consulting to ensure they are fostering an inclusive environment.
Do they train their staff not to drug their uh
customers let's see
gay bars have long been considered a safe space for our community but
it's important that they are actually safe and our entire

community feels welcomed inside of them being the
first nightlife venue in los angeles to be certified
certified by the stonewall inn gives back initiatives
official safe spaces program speaks to my
personal commitment to keep the abbey a safe space said tristan

hope other venues in west hollywood and across the country

of the hawaii civil rights commission and hawaii Board of Education,
just beat the incumbent in her district, Democratic primary,
who has been in the office for three decades,
becoming the first trans person elected to the body.

Iwamoto defeated incumbent state House Speaker Scott Psaki by around five percent
of the votes and Iwamoto receiving forty nine point three and Psaki receiving forty four point six.
It feels great to have this experience, especially knowing that so many very
powerful endorsed him as well, said Iwamoto.

So I wasn't just campaigning against him.
I was campaigning against the entire Democratic establishment.
Establishment she worked previously as an attorney and
has been elected for two terms to the hawaii board of education in
the mid-2010s she was appointed as a commissioner to the hawaii civil rights
commission she previously ran office unsuccessfully she ran for a lieutenant

governor in 2018 and challenged saki's seat twice in the past third time's a
charm buddy so like that's,
actually great but she is also particularly progressive on
lgbtq plus rights her campaign pain website list among
her proposed policies kim coco supports
measures that prohibit discrimination on the bias of

sexual orientation gender expression and identity to ensure the lgbtq plus community
are protected in our community kim coco supports fully funding the enforcement
division at all the state agencies that ensure compliance with all of the state's
non-discriminatory laws so that's It's amazing.

Get it, queen. See, that's how we need to make change. The future is woman.
We need to get an office. We can't let these streets think they're going to protect us.
And she'll also be the house speaker, which is a pretty big deal,
too. Someone's been there for 30 years.

So I think it's a great sign of how times are changing. you know like this is
a great win for like leftists and progressives that is retired teacher let's see.
So, a retired gay teacher sentenced to five years after threatening judge over don't say gay case.

Following his guilty plea in May, Stephen Thorne, 66, of Pensacola,
Florida, of course, right?
Was sentenced to five years imprisonment for threatening to harm a federal judge
and her family, according to the U.S.
Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida.
According to court documents, in October 2022,

Thorne was unhappy with a ruling issued by the judge in regard to a challenge
of the state's don't say gay law and left her vulgar, obscenity-laden voicemail messages.
In a letter filed to court, Thorne apologized for rashly and angrily overreacting

after reading a news story about the judge's ruling.
Florida's controversial Don't Say Gay Bill, formerly known as Parental Rights
and Educational Act, prohibits classroom instruction to students in pre-K through
grade 3 on sexual orientation or gender identity.
While for grades 4 to 12, such discussions are prohibited except when such instruction

is either expressly required by state academic standards or part of an opposite sex education class.
Although the judge in the case was not named, it was widely believed to be Wendy
Berger who dismissed a lawsuit by LGBTQ plus students,
their families, and civil rights groups in Orlando who sought to halt the legislation

from being enforced in the Sunshine State.
Date in the voicemails thorn said that
dismissing the challenge meant the
law was basically giving green light for lgbtq plus
students to be thought of as second-class citizens
and bullied the judge was very
easy to track he added he also said

And then George Santos faces prison after pleading guilty to fraud From the BBC.

George Santos, the disgraced former Republican congressman, is facing years
in prison after pleading guilty to two federal counts of fraud.
Santos, 36. 36?

Appeared in court in the federal, in the central East Slip. New York Monday.

Admitted wire fraud and aggravated identity theft for stealing the IDs.
Of campaign staff and misusing campaign fundments. Wow.
The judge estimated a sentencing of range sentencing range a sentencing range
of six to eight years for the charges he had admitted.

His guilty plea cements the downfall of the novice New York politician who was
expelled from Congress last year for a brief scandal-plagued tenure.
I deeply regret my con- No, that's not his voice. I deeply regret my conduct
and the harm it has caused and accept the full responsibility for my actions,
Santos said in a statement read to the court.

It reverses his denial last year of charges, including lying to Congress about
his finances and using campaign contributions for personal expenses.
The plea agreement calls for Santos to make restitution of at least $374,000 American.
The aggravated identity theft charges carries two-year mandatory prison term

that must be served consecutively with any sentence for the wire fraud charge.
In court, Santos admitted to theft and applying for unemployment benefits that
he was not entitled to receive. Fucking ghetto bitch.

He also acknowledged making false statements and omissions on financial statements

Mission santos was charged with 23 felony federal
felony crimes including wire fraud money laundering and
the misuse of campaign funds in december he
became the first member of congress to be expelled in more than 20 years and
only the sixth in history his brief tenure in
office was marked by several controversies alleged lies

The House Ethics Committee voted in 2023 to investigate Santos over several

Federal prosecutors filed 13 charges against him. 13 months later these included

7 counts of wire fraud 3 counts of money laundering 1 count of theft of public
funds and 2 counts of lying to House of Representatives,
He was later charged with 10 additional counts accused of stealing the identities
of campaign donors and using their credit cards,
House Ethics Panel report was then released,
accused him of misusing campaign funds yeah yeah yeah yeah for Botox credit
card debts and subscriptions to porn heavy OnlyFans websites Bitch that's gay as fuck,

so they their platform features dozens of policies that would improve the lives of lgbtq plus people.
Can you just give me the initiatives included include demonstrate a stark difference

between the Democratic and Republican
parties, particularly in how they relate to the queer community.
The DNC's platform features policies across education, health care,
the judicial system and beyond that would directly benefit LGBTQ plus people,
not just in the US, but around the world.

That's right, y'all. We're saving the world.
Here's a look at all the initiatives. So first we have the Equality Act.
The Democratic platform vows to enact the Equality Act, which would at last
outlaw discrimination against LGBTQ plus people in housing, public accommodations,
access to credit, education, jury service, and federal programs.

Democrats applaud the 2020 U.S. Supreme
Court decision that made clear that employment discrimination based
on sexual orientation and gender identity violates the
law but we know we know we
still have work to do to ensure lgbtq plus people are treated equally under
under the law and in our society wait were we not allowed to do jury duty before

well you probably get like not put in certain juries based on how you look and
i was like you You don't need to bring that to me.
I don't need to go to jury duty. Thank you.
Keep us out. But the Equality Act is essentially like codifying us to be protected
on national level. About time.

And then there's healthcare discrimination. So as they vow to reverse the Trump
administration discriminatory actions against the LGBTQ plus community,
including the dangerous and unethical regulations allowing doctors,
hospitals, and insurance companies to discriminate against patients based on

their sexual orientation or gender identity.
It promises to restore non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ people and people
living with HIV AIDS in health insurance.
They want to expand healthcare coverage. health
insurance would be required to cover all medically necessary care for trans

for gender transition federal health plans would also be mandated to provide
coverage for hiv aids testing and treatment and hiv protection prevention medications
like prep and pep gender confirmation,
surgery and hormone therapy dang that's not nationwide already can we just just

do it dang we're already a democrats right right yeah why are you just doing

will take a number of actions to end hiv aids epidemic which disproportionately

about it They're going to take a number of actions to end the epidemic.

They're finally going to cure AIDS. That's their goal. They're like,
we have the cure, but we're going to do something with it. Yeah, do the rounds.
They're going to lift the discriminatory lifetime ban on blood donations by
healthy gay and bisexual Americans.
And they will protect act protect

access to the full range of family planning services that
are essential to ensuring that people can decide if when and how to start a
family so like getting in virtual authorization abortions surrogates contraception
you can get abortions trans rights beyond the party's health care protections

they would require federal health
care plans to provide coverage for gender-confirming surgery and hormone therapy.
They want to enact policies making legal services more accessible to trans people.
And they want to ensure that all trans and non-binary people can procure official
government identification documents that accurately reflect their gender identity.

That's what's up. And they want to have more protections to extend hate crime
investigations and data keeping.
They want to recognize sex workers. as what
criminals it is promised to work with states and localities
to protect the lives of sex workers and they
want to tackle homelessness and mental

health platform recognizes lgbtq individuals suffer disproportionately they
want to expand mental health and suicide prevention services nice so they got
a full list of things that they want to tackle if they win the,
allegedly the election I would love to pull up a 2020 platform and see how much

Trump reported that the unfounded lie that children are, for some reason,
receiving gender affirming surgeries at school behind their parents' back.
