Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello everybody, this
is Queer Voices, a podcast
version of a broadcast radioshow that's been on the air in
Houston, texas for severaldecades.
It's a new year, happy 2025,everyone, and here at Queer
Voices we have a tradition ofbringing in astrologer Lily
(00:21):
Roddy at the start of the yearto talk about the upcoming year
and what it looks like.
This is a feature presentation.
Queer Voices starts now.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
This is Deborah
Moncrief-Bell, and it's January,
and what we usually do inJanuary is talk to our friend,
lily Roddy.
Lily is an award-winningastrologist and a writer for
Outsmart Magazine, where you cancheck her monthly forecast, and
then in the January issue, youwill have the year's overview.
(00:56):
But she's going to share someof that with us now.
And, lily, welcome again.
It's always a delight to talkwith you, and so let's start off
with a general overview ofwhat's happening right now.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Hi, deborah, thank
you.
I always look forward to doingthis with you every January.
It's a very exciting time and, yes, there is a lot of activity
going on in the sky that'saffecting all of us, not just
every specific sign.
One of the things I wanted tomention is that we're in a long
(01:33):
retrograde period that actuallystarted at the end of November
and probably won't be over tillabout the middle of April, which
means that lots of things thathave been getting or attempting
to get started aren't going towork.
Now I thought I'd give a realclear example of Mars retrograde
(01:55):
.
This goes back to when BillClinton was elected.
He was elected during Marsretrograde and I don't know if
you remember, but that's whenthey tried to put their health
program together.
Mars rules health in theastrology chart and because of
that it didn't work.
(02:16):
So I'm assuming that a lot ofthe things that the upcoming
administration is going to wantto do probably won't manifest or
they'll have a lot of troublesin getting that done.
So Mars remains retrograde.
Now Mars is retrograde in cancer, which is the sign of the USA
(02:36):
July 4th 1776.
And Mars normally travelsthrough cancer about every two
years.
That often represents Marsactivity, which is Mars, which
is a very much more active, potentially aggressive, warlike
energy, and this is often a timewhere we see more sword
rattling threats from othergovernments and not so
(03:00):
surprising increase in violenceinside the USA, which of course
that's been highly placed in thenews.
We also have Venus goingretrograde at the end of
February through the middle ofApril.
Venus is our planet of love andmoney and commitments and with
(03:22):
her retrograde then a lot of thethings that we may want to
commit to we may be rethinkingand we will be revisiting a lot
of the commitments that we madein the past.
That doesn't always mean thatit's about relationships per se.
It does mean that it's aboutthings we commit to doing.
So it's not just relationships.
That'll be in Aries, so that'llmake people sort of stop what
(03:47):
they're doing and rethink things.
And of course we have ournormal three Mercury retrogrades
a year and our first one willbe in March and from March
through April.
So it's just this longcontinuation of this retrograde
(04:09):
cycle.
So anything that you orderdelays in construction, all this
sort of thing would be fairlynormal, not saying that it would
be you know fun, or we wouldall be happy saying that it
would be, you know, fun, or wewould all be happy.
The other retrograde, the othertwo retrogrades from Mercury
(04:30):
are July 12th through August17th that's in the sign of Leo,
so that'll affect the Leo people.
And then November the 4ththrough December the 8th, and
that will affect the Sagittariusand Scorpio people.
That's Mercury retrograde isalways just a simple time to
stop, turn around, take care ofwhat's on your plate before you
add anything else.
(04:52):
The other big thing that'staking place in astrology is
we're having essentially all ofthe outer planets changing signs
almost simultaneously.
Now I was trying to think backhow long I've been doing
astrology and if I'd ever seenthis before, and the answer that
would be no.
So this is a really big thingthat's happening and, as a
(05:17):
result of this, whenever theplanets change signs,
particularly the outer planets, which would be Saturn, uranus
and Neptune and Pluto this tendsto create really big shifts in
our culture and generally thereis not unusually, an element of
conflict.
Sometimes wars come up duringthese times, so it could be an
(05:41):
enormous amount of change.
Pluto the planet of death andrebirth, recycling, getting rid
of detoxins is in Aquarius andit will be in Aquarius for the
next 20 years and it will beaffecting all of the fixed signs
Aquarius, leo, scorpio and Tand this will be a big cleaning
(06:05):
out time, getting rid of thingsfacing a lot of our shadow
elements.
Neptune will be moving intoAries.
That'll be March the 30th.
I kind of wanted to focus onthis a little bit, simply
because the last time Neptunemoved into Aries that was 1861.
(06:25):
And, of course, that was theAmerican Civil War and again, I
believe we're already seeingevidence of this building energy
.
This is pretty much verysimilar to the 1850s and when
they were trying to figure outwhat to do between free states
and slave states in Americaduring that time.
(06:47):
Saturn will also move into Aries.
Saturn is a planet of restraintand review and it will be
impacting not just Aries but allof the cardinal energies Aries,
capricorn, cancer and Libra andSaturn's more about long-term
planning, long-term security, what you're going to be doing
(07:07):
with that.
Uranus will be moving out oftaurus and into gemini for the
first time in 84 years and weshould see a big uptick in
technology, communications andalso people wanting to be more
free and not want to share theirpersonal information.
(07:29):
I think we're going to have abig thing about the way
information is shared, particularly with the internet
and the lack of controls aroundthat.
And then, finally, jupiter ismoving into cancer.
Now.
Jupiter spends a year in eachsign and consequently it's 12
years around.
So the last time Jupiter was inCancer was 12 years ago.
(07:51):
Jupiter is a planet of growth, expansion, travel, opening up to
new adventures, promotions,improving your education.
All of those things come withJupiter into Cancer.
So Jupiter will be moving intoCancer in June, saturn moves
into Aries in May, uranus movesinto Gemini in July and Neptune
(08:15):
moves into Aries at the very endof March.
Pluto is already in Aquariusand will remain there in
Aquarius and will remain there.
So that's really the big shiftsthat are going on through the
astrology process and it's goingto affect essentially every
sign.
There's no sign that's going tobe, you know, sort of missed.
(08:36):
Last year we've had a big focuson the planets being in Pisces
and in Capricorn, but a lot ofthat is going to shift and we
won't be observing the samepatterns.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
There were two terms
that you brought up and I wanted
to ask about them Exactly.
What does retrograde mean?
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Okay, that's a good
question.
Thank you, this is a greatquestion.
From the tropical, geocentricwhich means Earth-centered view
of astrology, when we look atthe planets, they appear to go
backwards against the sky.
Now, the reason for that isbecause what's happening
(09:19):
technically is that whateverplanet Mercury, venus, mars, etc
.
And the Earth are on the sameside of the sun, so it's either
the car is passing us and movingon, so it looks like it's
moving faster, or we're passingit, so it's just essentially a
conjunction with the Earth andthat particular planet, and that
(09:43):
brings that particular planetinto a very intense focus and
that's why those energies becomeso strong during the retrograde
.
Of course, we all know planetsdon't go backwards, but
astrology is earth-centered andthe reason is we live here on
the earth and consequently it'show things impact us.
Earth-based astrology does notmean that we don't go around the
(10:07):
sun.
I mean that would be silly, butit's.
Astrology is based on theperspective of us living on the
earth, not living on the sun,but there is heliocentric
astrology, so there is anopportunity.
You know, if you wanted to lookat it from that perspective and
I tend to use that in terms ofbig picture things the stock
(10:29):
market, people's businesses, things like that so it depends
on where the earth is in itsorbit and where those planets
are in.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Okay and what does
fixed mean?
Speaker 3 (10:45):
Thank you, I meant to
define those.
The signs are divided intothree groups Cardinal signs
Aries, libra, cancer, capricornare action-oriented signs.
These are the people that aremostly impatient, want to get
things done right now, andthey're the best to call on if
you need something done rightnow.
(11:06):
However, they can be impatient.
Fixed means persistent anddetermined.
Often the words stubborn andhard-headed are often used for
the fixed signs of Taurus, leo, scorpio and Aquarius, but I
think that has a lot to do withyour own perspective of what you
(11:26):
think stubborn is.
So if you're looking forsomeone who's true, blue and you
know won't let go of you, fixedsigns will hang in there with
you.
They're very powerful signs.
Mutable signs Gemini, sag, virgo and Pisces are the signs
of adaptability and they're thebest signs for dealing with
(11:48):
changing conditions, preparingfor the new conditions while
still holding on to their own.
So they tend to be moreadaptable, not always clear
about what their exact views are, because they're adaptable are,
(12:08):
because they're adaptable.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
I know that in
astrology you mainly look at it
from the perspective of aperson's sun sign, whatever
months they were born in, andthe dates within that time.
That makes someone be whatever, like myself, a Capricorn, and
in.
Well, hold on a second.
I've got to think about what myquestion was.
Oh, but okay, I know that youbase it on a person's sun sign,
(12:35):
whatever place they were bornduring a month, such as myself
being a Capricorn and having amid-January birthday, being a
Capricorn and having amid-January birthday but you get
these influences of these otherthings through different I
(13:00):
guess it's the houses Like youcan have a sun sign, a moon sign
and a rising sign, and then youhave wherever these certain
planets are in your sign duringthe year, and so that is how you
determine the influence of whatthat forecast is for that
person.
Is that correct?
Speaker 3 (13:20):
It's partially
correct In a chart.
All the planets that we use inour solar system aren't in the
chart.
So everybody's going to have asun, a moon, mercury, etc.
And in an astrology chart, usually the sun and mercury and
(13:42):
Venus are always close together.
So no matter what sign you are, whether you're a Capricorn or
an Aquarian, mercury and Venusare usually in your same sign,
the sign before, the sign after.
So even if you're a Capricorn,it's easy for you to be
influenced, possibly haveSagittarian planets or even
Aquarian planets.
(14:02):
Planets or even Aquarianplanets.
The moon can be anywhere in thechart, in any sign, and the
same thing is for Mars, saturn, jupiter, etc.
Because all of those planetshave their own particular cycle.
So when I look at a chart, letme give you an example of this
(14:24):
idea.
An example of this idea thebaby boomers.
Okay, the boomers are thepeople that were born with Pluto
, moving through the sign of Leo.
That was from essentially, 1937to 1957.
So essentially those are allthe people born with Pluto and
Leo, and the term baby boomerscomes from the fact that Leo
(14:45):
rules children and Pluto is theexpression of power and Pluto is
regenerative.
So that's why the Pluto and Leopeople we're not ready to go.
We make reading glasses popularbecause we make them colorful.
We're going to make incontinentunderwear popular because it'll
(15:05):
be us having to do those things.
So part of that energyrepresents a whole group.
The next group would be Plutoand Virgo, and that would be
1957 to 1972.
And I think that's what theyreferred Gen X people.
Pluto was in Libra from 72 to84.
(15:26):
That's the next group, 84 to 96.
The next group and then thefollowing group from 2008 to
2025, which is the Pluto andCapricorn groups.
So it depends on how you lookat those things.
A planet, outer planets stay ina sign a long time, so they tend
(15:46):
to represent a generation or agroup of people.
For example, saturn spends twoand a third years in each sign.
As a result of that, everybodyborn around you, the people you
grew up with in school, are allgoing to have essentially the
same Saturn, and Saturn is oursense of our public presence,
what society expects from us, alot about our career, and so
(16:09):
those would be things that wewould all share as a group.
Individual planets, which wouldbe Sun, mercury, venus, mars,
moon, all move a lot quicker, and then those are the planets
that tend to represent usindividually.
So in a chart you can literallyhave your sun in one sign and
(16:30):
literally every other planet inanother sun.
So when I look at what's goingon I look specifically at how
those areas of the chart and howthose signs influence each
other through the planetarymovement and astrology.
Particularly the way that Iapproach it, astrology is kind
(16:52):
of to me like a big flock, sosome things astrologically, you
know, can be talked aboutimmediately.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
We're talking with
Lily Roddy about astrology for
the year 2025, and normally inastrology they start off with uh
, aries, uh, which is, uh, thelatter part of march, and into
april, but because we're injanuary, we're going to go ahead
and start with the month ofJanuary and the sign of
(17:26):
Capricorn.
So, lily, what does it looklike for us sea goats?
Speaker 3 (17:32):
All right, the sea
goats.
That's one of my favorite signs.
I want to say that the reasonthat every year the sun doesn't
enter a particular sign at thesame day is because the zodiac
is a circular calendar and itmeasures the movement of things
(17:54):
from the earth's point of view.
So the sun doesn't actuallymove a whole degree a day or you
know, a whole 24-hour spin, andso, consequently, all those
dates are always changing, andthat's why people believe that
they're born on the cusp.
There's actually no such thingas a cusp.
(18:15):
Uh, we're either one thing oranother, but you certainly can
have planets in multiple signs.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
So if you're as I'm
sort of talking about this if
you're a capricorn but when Italk about aquarius and that
seems to fit you also that'sprobably because you do have
planets in those signs yeah, forme, I have, um, capricorn sun,
capricorn moon and aquariusrising and uh, apparently my
(18:46):
aquarius rising is very strongand a lot of times things that
are in this aquarius seem to fitwhat's going on with me.
So that's interesting to hear.
I always say my Aquarius risingis what saves me from being a
triple Capricorn.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
That's so true.
Well, and one of the thingsthat you had mentioned the sun
sort of represents our consciousversion of our ego, whereas our
moon represents sort of ourinternal or our emotional ego,
and the rising sun, or theascendant, represents our outer
personality or the energy thatother people meet.
(19:25):
So when your chart, if yourAquarius rising, then part of
that means that you know we'regoing to meet an Aquarian and
then we sort of later get toknow your Capricorn.
So that's how that works.
So let's talk about CapricornNow.
This is a big year forCapricorns and there's a couple
(19:46):
of reasons for this.
First, pluto finally moves outof your sign.
Pluto has been in your sign, the sign of Capricorn, since
2008.
That's when we had a hugehurricane hit in Houston in
September.
That's when Pluto moved intoCapricorn.
This is a big time ofreassessment for Capricorns and
(20:11):
particularly related to theirfamily, family members.
This could easily be a timewhere family members are getting
older.
There could be a time wherefamily members are getting older
.
There could be a shift in thefamily hierarchy Also along
those same lines, because a lotof this is about your.
For Capricorn, this is aboutyour house that are there, your
chart that rules your home andfamily.
(20:32):
So this could be about youdoing home repairs.
It could be about youdownsizing, depending on how old
you are, and also about lookingforward to what you're going to
be doing.
So what's influencing Capricornis their ruler, saturn, and
that's going to be real dominantover the next two and a half
(20:54):
years for essentially allcardinal signs Aries, capricorn,
libra but particularly forCapricorn, because this is your
ruler, and this could be foryounger people.
This could be a time whereyou're looking at reassessing
your career, looking to stepforward.
For older people, this might belooking at the idea of cutting
back, trying not to manage asmuch and trying to generate more
(21:19):
personal time in space manageas much and trying to generate
more personal time in space.
This is also a time whereCapricorns are going to be
really leaning into theirspirituality and really asking
themselves a lot about the wholeidea of what drives them and
what are their real motivations.
So this can also be a timewhere Capricorns will be looking
(21:40):
at having more personal timeand personal space and not as
much activity unless they chooseit.
This is also in June.
Jupiter will be moving intoCancer.
You'll hear me say that acouple of times, jupiter is
usually a positive,growth-oriented energy.
(22:02):
It'll be activating Capricornand this is good for school
travel, education, promotions atwork.
It tends to push our energy ofhope and enthusiasm and it's
very good for dealing withforeign businesses, even
(22:24):
possibly relocating to anothercountry.
So Capricorns, for sure, aregoing to be very busy, and also
for the Capricorns, this is kindof a time of reconsidering what
you're going to invest yourself, your money and your energy
into, and so if you're a personthat has investments, you may be
(22:47):
looking at getting rid of some, particularly those that aren't
working.
That would be really strongthis year.
Now, as I started with, mars isin Cancer and Mars sits
opposite the sign of Capricorn,so Capricorns are definitely
going to be impacted by thisMars retrograde and, as a result
of that, which I know you'realready feeling, this is part of
(23:11):
that kind of anger that youhave.
This is part of yourrestlessness, not sleeping as
well.
Mars always makes us take lifemuch more personally and we're
really ready to act on how wefeel.
We can be defensive, and apositive thing of this this
would be an excellent time forCapricorns to restart any kind
(23:34):
of exercise, diet, healthprogram, focus on their health
for this year.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
That would really be
an excellent time for that okay,
and so then that brings us toaquarius, which starts january
20th exactly now.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
This is the sign
that's going, that's going to be
going through the biggest setof changes, and that's because
pluto the planet of death andrebirth is moving through your
sign Now.
It's going to take a long time20 years so and Pluto moves very
slowly, so it's going to impactthe people that are born in the
(24:13):
earliest degrees of the sign.
So those of you that are bornthe 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th
you're going to be alreadyexperiencing this Plutonian
energy which is making you shedyour skin, get rid of things
that you don't necessarily wantto do, eliminate negative people
(24:34):
out of your life.
You will be a lot more direct, potentially a lot more real, in
your conversations.
Now this also can mean, on apsychological level, that part
of our fear and motivation thattends to drive us, Pluto is a
(24:55):
detoxer, so part of what shewants to do is get rid of that
energy and allow us to live ahealthier life.
So often, this is why Pluto willgo when Pluto's in your sign,
as it is in Aquarius.
This is why people are doingdownsizing, cleaning things out.
It represents just a gooddetoxification, but for the most
(25:18):
part, it's going to really beimpacting those of you in the
earliest parts of the sign.
So some people that areCapricorns probably have planets
in Aquarius, so they will alsobe looking at that, and Pluto
represents a huge change.
Now, when it comes to career,Pluto represents a change in
(25:40):
your industry and it often isn'tparticularly about you
personally not that it doesn'taffect you personally but the
results of it are Plutorepresents mergers and buyouts
and downsizing, bankruptcy, andso it's about a consolidation
energy and so sometimes whenyou're having a big Pluto
(26:01):
transit, then where you work, conditions change and you just
have to adapt and potentially dosomething else.
So I think this will probablybe more difficult for the people
that are older.
You know I'm older so I'm sortof more grounded in my own views
(26:21):
and conversations.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
This is Deborah
Moncrief-Bell on Queer Voices in
conversation with Lily Roddy.
Lily is an astrologer who has amonthly column in Outsmart
Magazine.
You'll be able to pick up theforecast for the year in the
January issue and I believe, besides doing the Lily Roddy
show podcast, that you alsoteach astrology.
(26:45):
Is that correct, Lily?
Speaker 3 (26:47):
Absolutely, deborah.
I'm starting the class onJanuary the 16th, dealing with
natal aspects, so I teach everyThursday.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
And we've been going
through the signs, starting with
the month of January, and weare now going to talk about
Pisces, which starts on February19th and goes through March
20th.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
Okay, this is a very
big time for Pisces.
Pisces people, for the mostpart, will be dealing still with
the planet Saturn movingthrough their sign, and that's
all about your career goals, having better personal
boundaries, focusing more onyourself rather than trying to
(27:37):
help or save everybody aroundyou, and so that would be a
normal time to review yourcareer, as I've said in the past
.
Younger people this is sort ofa time where you're sort of
looking to push yourself forward.
Older people this might be atime when we tend to step back
or cut back on our schedule.
There's also a huge influencewith the planet urus for Pisces.
(28:01):
This is going to be affectingthe area of your life that rules
your family, your physicallocation, and this could bring
changes in terms of the familyhierarchy.
There could be older familymembers maybe leaving the planet
, while newer or younger familymembers may be taking their
place.
Newer or younger family membersmay be taking their place.
(28:22):
This could easily be a timewhere Pisces feel like they need
to relocate or even get off ofthe grid.
They sort of want a lot moresort of personal space, and so
that's what's happening withthose Pisces people.
They've been in a real strongsense of renewal and that will
(28:44):
improve and they'll be morefocused overall.
As we get into the spring andsummer of 25.
That's actually a better timefor Pisces overall and that's
probably a time when they'll bemost active, particularly with
this big retrograde cycle thatwe're in.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
So we're going to
take a brief break and come back
to talk with Lily Roddy, who'sthe monthly columnist for
Astrology and Outsmart Magazineand the producer of the Lily
Roddy Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (29:21):

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Aries, and that
covers May 21st through June
20th.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
I think you're a
month ahead.
Oh I am, I should wear myglasses, shouldn't I?
Don't ask me, I can't find mine.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
So we're talking
March 22nd through April 19th
for Aries.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
Okay, aries energy.
Now this is a huge time forAries.
A Saturn enters your sign.
That'll be happening in May.
This will be the first timesaturn has been in your sign
sent for the last 30 years, andsaturn is about long-term future
(31:29):
goals, your career, yoursecurity, reassessing where you
are getting rid of things thatdon't work.
That's going to be reallyprominent.
Also, the planet neptune movesinto the sign.
Aries hasn't been here in 165years and Neptune is the planet
of spirituality and the need tohelp people that are
(31:53):
underprivileged.
So Saturn will be moving in.
Excuse me, neptune will bemoving into Aries.
This will impact particularlythe Aries folk that are born in
the very earliest part of thesign, probably the first five to
six days of the sign.
You'll be impacted by this themost through 25, but this whole
process will take place 26 and27.
(32:15):
So you're definitely looking atcorrecting where you are.
This could also be a shift inyour relationships.
For some people this could be acommitment time.
For other people this will be atime to renew your
relationships and in difficultrelationships this could be a
time where you're not doing sowell in your partnerships.
(32:38):
After July, again moving, moving, relocation, better job
opportunities all that occursfor aries and aries people, of
course.
Your planet, mars, is theplanet retrograde currently, and
it's part of the reason whyyou're not acting
straightforward like you usuallydo, because you're a ruler.
(33:01):
Mars is retrograde.
It makes you slow down andthink things through.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
So we're going to
take a brief break and come back
to talk with Lily Roddy, who'sthe monthly columnist for
Astrology and Outsmart Magazineand the producer of the Lily
Roddy Show podcast.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
Taurus is our next
sign, and when are those dates
Debra?
Speaker 2 (33:30):
April 20th through
May 20th, so it seems like it's.
Is it always the same amount ofdays for a sign to be in?
Speaker 3 (33:44):
Well, in astrology
this is kind of the difference.
Astrology measures things indegrees, so there are 30 degrees
to a sign, no matter how fast aplanet moves.
So it doesn't actually respondto a day.
That's why the days change.
The sun doesn't actually move awhole degree a day.
(34:05):
It's about 59 minutes, andthat's why we have our solar
correction with our calendarevery four years to add a day
because of the inaccuracy in ourcalendars.
But the zodiac is a 360 degreecalendar that's just based on
the speed of the planet.
That's why those dates alwayschange.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
I see April 20th
through May 20th for Taurus.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
Now Taurus.
People have had Uranus, thisplanet of reinvention, move
through your sign over the lastseven years.
It's just now moving out.
That should help to create alot more stability for Tauruses
and also it will make it easierfor Tauruses essentially to make
(34:54):
a commitment.
Uranus wants to build a fencewith a gate with no lock, so it
always wants to keep its optionsopen, which is not very Taurus.
Taurus tends to put their fencepost in cement and then they
tend to be happy with that.
You're going to be moreselective about your
neighborhood.
You may care more about yourproperty.
(35:15):
This could be an excellent timeto go back to school, to teach,
take classes.
You will definitely be moreoutspoken and if you're into the
whole idea of podcasting, thisis a great time for you to take
that up in your chart.
It would be very positive foryou and you will be more
(35:36):
selective about your neighbors, who you're around, and that's
going to be very strong and Iguess if you have a political
bent, that would definitely evenbe stronger.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
In what way?
Speaker 3 (35:53):
Tarz, people will be
looking for people of
like-mindedness, so they'redefinitely going to be thinking
about where they are and havinggroups or allies that they can
connect with.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
I think that's
something we all need to
consider.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
Absolutely absolutely
.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
And might it also be
a consideration for running for
office?
Speaker 3 (36:16):
Well, that is a
really good comment, deborah.
I would think that for peoplethat are more motivated in that
sense, uranus is part of thisenergy that wants to produce
change, so it's ready to be therebel.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
Right.
And that brings us to Gemini, which is May 21st through June
21st, sign of the.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Twins.
Sign of the Twins.
And all of the names of thesigns are just Latin words Aries
means goat, taurus means bull, gemini means twins.
So how interesting is that?
Now for the Gemini.
Speaker 2 (37:02):
It has to do with
what the constellation is
correct.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
No, it actually has
to do with what sign it's in.
There's a constellational viewof astrology and then there's a
tropical view of astrology, andthe tropical view, which is the
one mostly used in the us, notalways is based on the sun and
(37:31):
earth positions.
The tropical, the sidereal, vegan or the vedic zodiac is
based on the precession of theequinox and where the
easternmost point of the Earthpoints to in the sky against a
constellation.
So there are actually twodifferent measurements using two
(37:53):
different processes.
One is about the Earth and oneis about the sky.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
Well, you have really
enlightened me, lily.
I had no idea that was the case.
I always thought it wasassociated with the
constellation.
So again, gemini, the twins.
What's in store for them?
Speaker 3 (38:11):
well for the gemini's
, uranus, the rebel rebel is
moving into your sign for thefirst time in 84 years.
This is a huge sense of wantingto do something different.
Change where you are, get awayfrom demanding people or
anything that makes you feeltrapped or uncomfortable.
(38:33):
And even for people that wouldbe successful in their business
relationships, this produces theneed to sort of change things
up, and it also means that, because of the Uranus energy for
Gemini that the people may notare more interested in looking
at their options rather thannecessarily choosing something.
(38:54):
So that's part of this kind ofbreaking up of their past, of
what they have done in the past.
So Geminis are likely to be alot less fixed in their places.
They're going to want to trythings.
They're going to want to pushagainst things that they don't
(39:16):
care for.
However, it's an incrediblyreinventive time.
It's a super-duper time to goback to school, look for a new
profession or even startsomething on your own, because
that's really a big energy thatGeminis are dealing with and
(39:36):
it'll be easier for them thisyear in 25, actually to make the
changes that they need to.
And so that brings us to cancerand I believe that's your sign.
Only that's my son.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
Yes, and that's june
22nd through july 22nd and in
december you said the crab folkare more crabby than usual this
month.
Did you find that that to bethe case?
Speaker 3 (39:59):
um, well, yes, um,
you know I've already lost a
claw this year, so, um, part ofthe the big reason for that is
that mars is just in the sign ofcancer.
It moved into cancer in october.
It doesn't really leave canceruntil april 17th, and so that's
(40:25):
going to keep the crabby cancersmore crabby, and so we are
going to be harder to get alongwith and more touchy, and we're
just going to want things doneyesterday, and that's just part
of the energy that we're livingthrough Now.
The other side of that is thatMars has a lot to do with the
(40:45):
physical body and your health.
It's a great time to take careof your health, restart those
programs, exercise programs.
All of that stuff is just goingto be really positive and a lot
better.
In the summer, jupiter, ourplanet of growth and expansion,
moves into Cancer for a year.
This could also mean goodthings for Cancer better
(41:08):
business, improvement inrelationships, possible
relocation.
All of that stuff is actuallyreally good for Cancers, and
Cancers, much like Capricorns, have been going through a really
tough time and we're finallysort of moving out of that.
Slowly, but things will improve.
They'll definitely improve bythe time we get to the summer,
(41:38):
but right now that Marsretrograde what that means for
cancers and be ready for that toyou know, take push forward in
the middle of April of this 25th.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
And then that brings
us to the Lions.
Leo, leo, yeah, to the 23rd,july 23rd to August 22nd.
Speaker 3 (42:01):
Now Leos are being
impacted by Pluto, and what that
means is Pluto is moving intoyour house of relationships.
Now, this is a pretty roughtransit, honestly, for any kind
of relationships business orpersonal.
(42:21):
And now, on the positive sideof it, uh, pluto is about
detoxing the type of people thatyou would attract and getting
rid of those negative energies, and we can't look at that as bad
.
However, it can still beconfrontational and and a lot
more intense and direct, I think, than um than leo wants to.
(42:42):
Leo, you know, ultimately, isthe sign of love.
So to be so confrontational, that's very hard for Leo people,
so there's a big shift here.
If you're in a difficultrelationship, yikes, this would
probably be a more difficulttime.
However, it would push you tofind some sort of resolvement
(43:02):
there, no matter what.
This could also make yourethink everything that you do.
Pluto always is sort of a hugechange and affects every aspect
of our life and, again, beingthe planet of death, it could be
that older members of yourfamily may be passing during
this particular time, but it's abetter time for friendships.
(43:26):
It's a better time for reachingout to social groups,
connecting with people that youreally associate with, renewing
your friendship elements in yourchart, really a much more
positive time for that.
Overall, it's a more positiveenergy for all of the fire signs
and all of the air signs.
So Aries, leo and Sagittariusfor the fire signs, and then
(43:49):
Gemini, libra and Aquarius forthe air signs All of those signs
will be doing a little betterthan they have been doing in the
past.
Speaker 2 (43:58):
And that brings us to
Virgo, which is August 23rd
through September 22nd.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
Virgos.
So Virgos have been dealing alot with their relationship
energies Both Saturn and Neptune, have been impacting those
elements in their chart and forpositive relationships with
Virgos, you have been working toupgrade your relationship so
(44:26):
that it adequately reflects whoyou are, where you're headed in
your current relationship.
The aspects for involvingyourself in another relationship
continues to be strong, particularly as we move into the
summer.
However, for Virgos, this is areally huge shift in your career
(44:52):
.
Uranus, this planet ofreinvention, will be moving into
your career sector.
That will take a while aboutsix and a half to seven years
but you will feel it no matterwhere you are.
People that are born in theearliest parts of the sun will
be dealing with that right now,and this could be feeling bored,
trapped, wanting to dosomething on your own and always
(45:14):
.
If you're older, thenoftentimes it may mean sort of a
retirement element in part ofall of this, sort of a
retirement element in the, inpart of all of this and um.
You're also opening up to um apath of spiritual discovery, and
that will also continue to bereally strong.
(45:36):
The other side of this is that, also for virgo, this is going
to be a time where you're reallylooking to get rid of your debt
and work your finances in abetter way.
It'll be a big process that'llbe going on all year for burgos.
Speaker 2 (45:48):
And then we have
Libra, lovely Libras.
Speaker 3 (45:50):
Lovely Libra.
Speaker 2 (45:51):
I have a lot of
Libras in my life September 23rd
through October 23rd.
Speaker 3 (45:59):
Yes, now Libra people
.
Of course, libra is the sign ofrelationships and the sign of
balance, and Libra people tendto balance in maintaining their
relationship, not always inpaying better attention to
themselves.
Changing as both Saturn andNeptune will be influencing your
(46:24):
relationships in a really bigway.
This could mean and this isvery easy to say if you're in a
positive relationship, then thisis just the time to sort of
upgrade where you are, where youthink you need to be.
If you're in a difficultrelationship, you will have to
find some sort of resolvementfor the relationship to continue
(46:46):
or literally it will end.
Now in June, jupiter, ourplanet of growth and expansion,
moves into your career sector,so that should be a very good
time for you.
Good time for promotion, goodtime for starting your own
business it kind of gives you akind of a sense of a magnetic
(47:07):
approach, so people are morelikely drawn to you.
Good time for self-promotion,going to school any of those
things could be really good andit's an increase in your
friendships and the peoplearound you.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
So then we have
Scorpio, October 24th through
November 21st.
Speaker 3 (47:28):
Yes, the Scorpio
people, Now all of the fixed
signs Taurus, scorpio, leo, aquarius they are all being
affected by the planet Plutobecause it's moving through
Aquarius.
Now Pluto is moving throughyour area of your chart or your
(47:48):
horoscope that deals with yourhome, family and roots.
So this is going to be a deepclean process going through your
core.
There could be major changes inyour family hierarchy.
You easily could be moving, major remodeling and, for sure,
(48:10):
paying more attention to yourhealth and staying away from
jobs and people that drive yourstress and anxiety.
The latter part of this year isa better year for you to travel
and expand your knowledge base, but so much of the energy that
you're involved in is going tobe cleaning things out, taking
(48:30):
care of things that don't work, and also this is sort of the
beginning of you paying moreattention to your health.
I know I mentioned that, butthis would be an excellent time
to start just overall betterhealth processes, eating better,
et cetera, all of those sortsof things.
(48:50):
It would just be such a benefit.
Otherwise, you may find thatyour health deteriorates and
then you have to do somethingabout it, but if you start now,
you can probably catch it earlyhave to do something about it.
Speaker 2 (49:09):
But if you start now
you can probably catch it early.
And then we move to the lastsign of the year, sagittarius.
November 22nd through December21st okay, now for the Sages.
Speaker 3 (49:23):
The big influence for
Sagittarius is the planet
uranus.
The planet of reinvention ismoving into gemini, which is
your opposite sign, so this canmake you restless.
It can make you feel trapped inold positions.
Difficult relationships don'tdo well under this sort of
transit and can make things very, very difficult.
(49:46):
You're still continuing to workon your home and remodeling,
upgrading your office equipmentand looking at renewal in terms
of commitment to partners andthere could be some new
partnership potentials coming in, especially after June.
(50:08):
But demanding relationships Ican tell you anybody, anything
that's going to demand stufffrom Sagittarius with Uranus
moving into Gemini just won'twork.
The planet of detachment andthe sort of big um and the road
(50:31):
you know and the horse you rodein on, that sort of a good
uranian way of saying that.
So if you're older, this couldbe big job change, relocation.
If you're younger, this couldeasily be you wanting to do
something else.
Speaker 2 (50:45):
Expand, get more into
the field of communications so,
lily, uh, if you don't mind measking, how old are you?
Speaker 3 (50:55):
I'm 72 and a half 72
and a half.
Speaker 2 (50:58):
I'll be 75 on january
16th uh, and I've been doing a
lot of review of my life, thinking about this quarter of a
century no, three quarters of acentury mark and the
perspective of having olderfriends and the changes that are
(51:23):
taking place we're having a lotmore peers dying, passing on
into whatever takes place afterdeath.
I do it from a certainperspective that is based on
(51:55):
this age level that you and Iare both currently in.
Are there any recommendationsbased on this turn of the wheel,
as you might say that you wouldsee from an astrological
viewpoint?
Speaker 3 (52:08):
Well, actually,
absolutely One of the things.
Although you're not really oldenough at this moment at the age
of 81, 82, our Neptune sitsopposite the Neptune in our
chart.
Neptune sits opposite theNeptune in our chart At 84, we
do Uranus return, uranus comingback to where it was when we
(52:32):
were born, and at 88, we do aSaturn return, our third one,
which is just Saturn, comingback to where it was when we
were born.
Essentially, these are the samethree planets that we deal with
at midlife, which isessentially from 39 to 44.
So I find that a lot of peopleprior to this time it's sort of
(52:53):
like you know what are we goingto be doing with our lives and a
lot of our youthfulness hasbeen completed.
So I think particularly notthat I think this is an unusual
notion, but I don't think ourcountry or our society is very
much ready for people that areolder and who need to be active.
(53:17):
I had one of my clients who justhad her third Saturn return.
She's 88.
She's starting an art galleryin Richmond.
She's starting an art galleryin Richmond.
So you know, we're just theolder we live, we're still going
to want to be active.
I think a lot of the thingsthat happen to us as we get
older is that so much of what wedo is about our youth.
(53:39):
What we think we need shoulda, woulda, coulda be doing in our
youth and as a result of that, Ithink when we sort of get into
our 70s and when you no longerneed to do all of the things
that you did, then in a senseyou really have to reinvent
yourself.
So I know that's part of this.
Time in the 70s is just sort ofnot always being sure of where
(54:03):
we're going.
Speaker 2 (54:05):
I find it's not about
what I have to do, but the
things I want to do.
Speaker 3 (54:11):
Exactly.
Speaker 2 (54:13):
Yeah, and of course,
over here at Law Harrington,
where I live, they have lots ofactivities and different areas
of interest for people toparticipate in and staying
active, staying engaged.
Certainly, the radio showaffords me that, your work
affords you that.
So it's very good for, aspeople look wherever they are in
(54:38):
the Zodiac, to think about whathappens as you age.
When you're 20, you're notthinking about it.
When you're 50, you're notthinking about it.
When you're 50, you might startthinking about it, but then
when you're 75, it hits you.
Like here I am.
So what am I going to do withthe time I have left?
So I really appreciate yourinsight based on that.
(54:59):
And is there anything we didn'task you about that you'd like
to share?
Speaker 3 (55:06):
Well, I think I'm
going to say that the best thing
, of course, is to have your ownindividual chart so you can see
where all of your planets are,so you can understand all of the
motivations that occur throughthe chart and the chart itself.
This is kind of my beliefsaround this, and that is that
(55:29):
when an astrologer looks at yourchart, they're looking for
timing when are things going tooccur?
When are they going to end?
How's that going to impact you?
And so, because of that, Ithink that what happens is
what's supposed to be happeningto us.
Do I think it's always good?
Are people always happy?
Well, of course not, butnevertheless, I think it's good
to understand that this is thetime for those things, because
(55:52):
oftentimes, when I read forpeople on an individual basis, a
lot of response that I get fromthem is oh good, I thought I
was going crazy.
So I know that I offer a greatamount of assurance to other
people about where they are, youknow, and what's going on in
their lives.
So I think it's really good tohave readings.
I think it's good to have themdone about once a year and just
(56:16):
to sort of get a picture so thatyou can respond to what's going
on in a more conscious way.
Speaker 1 (56:22):
That was astrologer
