Annie Savard est professeure agrégée au département des études intégrées en éducation à l’Université McGill et chercheuse au Centre interuniversitaire de recherche en analyse des organisations (CIRANO) depuis 2014. Titulaire d'un doctorat en didactique des mathématiques de l'Université Laval, ses intérêts de recherche s’orientent principalement autour du développement de compétences mathématiques contribuant au développement de compétences citoyennes, autant du côté de l’apprentissage que de l’enseignement. Annie Savard a enseigné au primaire près d’une quinzaine d’années et a été auteure, consultante et formatrice auprès du ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport du Québec. Elle a également été consultante et formatrice auprès de commissions scolaires du Québec ainsi qu’auprès d’instituts de recherche et de développement à l’international.
