Madame Angelica Pesarini est sociologue et professeure adjointe à l’Université de Toronto. Elle mène des recherches sur le colonialisme, le genre et la production des connaissances racialisées du discours politique sur l’immigration, en particulier en Italie. Elle est diplômée d’un doctorat interdisciplinaire de l’Université de Leeds en Grande Bretagne pour sa thèse qui portait sur les appartenances identitaires des femmes noires métisses en Italie coloniale et postcoloniale. Elle a participé à l’ouvrage collectif intitulé The Black Mediterranean (La Méditerranée noire) (2021) publié en anglais qui repense la soi-disant « crise » migratoire européenne à travers le prisme du concept de la Méditerranée noire.
