Monsieur Facil Tesfaye est historien et professeur adjoint à l’École des langues et cultures modernes de l’Université de Hong Kong. Il est diplômé de l’Université Humboldt à Berlin, de l’Université du Québec à Montréal, et de l’Université McGill. Il est spécialiste de l’histoire africaine de la fin du 19e siècle et de l’histoire de la médecine de l’océan Indien, des Grands Lacs et de l’Éthiopie. A l’Université de Hong Kong, il a cofondé et dirigé le Programme d’études africaines. Il est l’auteur du livre Statistique(s) et génocide au Rwanda (2014) publié chez L’Harmattan (Paris). Avec Anna Winterbottom, il est l’auteur des volumes Histories of Medicine and Healing in the Indian Ocean World (2015) publiés en anglais chez Palgrave Macmillan.
