In this episode we learn about Lesley's background in acting before she switched careers and became an attorney that specializes in litigation. She discusses how her introverted nature is more suited to a career in law and how she balances being a mom and a career woman.
Lesley describes what it's like to raise a strong-willed child and how this dynamic raises challenges in her home. Lesley in particular wants other moms to know that they are not alone in raising their strong-willed kids. She states that it is important to be real about our failures and short-comings as mothers as there is often pressure to be perfect. Lesley established a scholarship for young people who come from single parent homes who are also seeking higher education. She started this scholarship in honor of her father Curtis Holloway who raised her as a single dad from the age of 10 after her mom passed away.
