Introducing Radical Restoration, a nurturing and cozy podcast for Black millennial women searching for rest. We discuss the art of rest and offer tools and strategies to realistically put rest into daily practice. Join our 'Pillow-talk' hosts, Dr. Niecie and Coach Bethany, as we cultivate a safe community for Black women who need to recover from exhaustion and establish a work-life fit. Need to heal from chronic distress? Need an escape from hustle culture? Need a community you can depend on and trust in? We got you. Over the years, we've collaborated to provide healing spaces for Black women and developed strategies to help you prioritize rest and reclaim work-life balance.
In this introductory trailer, we'll introduce ourselves as your hosts and provide an overview of our brand-new podcast. We'll explore various topics, including daily rest practice ideas, healing from institutional violence, work-life fit, rest and restoration practices, philosophies of rest, and much more. Throughout our episodes, we'll offer tips for living the Radical Restoration lifestyle, transforming generational trauma, and finding restoration in interpersonal relationships. We'll also discuss self-care and community care, and share our favorite books, podcasts, movies, etc., that center on rest(oration). You'll hear from both a creative coach/therapist, a health and wellness coach, and other guests, and we'll teach evidence-based ways to trade hustle culture habits for healthy rest habits. So, I am technically Dr.
Niecie Jones.
I'm a licensed marriage andfamily therapist, and I do have
a PhD in psychotherapy.
I have a lot of clinical andresearch expertise in Black
American mental health inparticular, though I have
worked, um, and continued towork with black folks across the
diaspora, including, uh, manyAfrican countries.

Um, In addition to my therapypractice, I'm also, I play a few
other roles, so I'm a creativitycoach and I focus on the
intersection of, um, usingintuition, meaning making and
mental health.
I'm also a diversity, equity andinclusion consultant that works
primarily in the tech space.
And one of my major foci ispsychological safety, which I

would love to get into on thepodcast.
It's a very important topic forpeople.
No matter how or where you workin life.
And then on the more spiritualside, I do read Taro and Oracle
cards professionally, which forme and many others, has proven
to be a really helpful tool inbeing able to find rest and

restoration.
So in lots of ways, I've used mywork, um, to help black women
find and operate in their flow.
Bethany (02:16):

So technically I am coachBethany and I'm a health and
wellness coach, uh, nationallycertified, and I'm currently
pursuing my master's degree inhealth and wellness coaching.
I am super passionate aboutliberation and social justice.

And I love supporting blackwomen to find pathways to
wellbeing and to help themflourish As an educator, I'm
passionate about diversity,equity, and inclusion, as well
as mindfulness in schools.
I'm also a writer and I writepoetry on the side.
A lot of my work, overallcenters, slow living rest and

the science of flourishing asguidance toward greater
wellbeing.
I really believe that all of us.
Deserve and can find authenticpathways toward whole wellness
and whole centered living.
So through this podcast, my hopeis to share my knowledge and

restful life.
