Main Event: Why are police agencies in the U.S not reporting there crime stats to the FBI? For over 100 years the FBI / Gov't has been collecting data (Uniform Crime Reporting Program). Now the FBI created a new system for reporting, National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) since 2021 under the DOJ. The total numbrer of police agencies in the U.S is 18,000. So why did 8,000 depts become unwilling or unable to report. The numbers:
8,356 submitted reports in 2022 44%. 4,464 submitted partially their report in 2022 equalling 24%. 6,097 did not participate in 2022 which was 32% of the police agencies. Lastly two of the bigest agencies in America did not submit, Los Angles LAPD and New York City NYPD. So the question is why? Alpha Mike breaks it all down.
