Rev. Olivia Sultana (00:00):
I'm excited .

Rainbow Raaja (00:01):
I'm excited too.
Hello, hello, hello and welcometo Rainbows Rising, where we

(00:38):
ascend together.
I'm your host, Rainbow Raaja, and today I have a wonderful
guest for you all.
We have Olivia Sultana.
She is a Celtic shaman andshe's been practicing for many,
many years.
I'm going to go ahead and givethe floor to her to introduce

(01:02):
herself, and something wonderfulabout her is she actually was
one of my teachers.
We worked together for a coupleof weeks and I had the
wonderful like honor of givingher some sessions, and she gave
me some sessions, and I was justso blessed to be able to work
with her.
She's very, very powerful and Iam so excited to have her on

(01:23):
today.
Welcome, thank you.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (01:27):
Hi, how are you?

Rainbow Raaja (01:29):
I am wonderful.
How are you?

Rev. Olivia Sultana (01:31):
I'm well.
Thank you, I'm so happy to behere and I'm happy to share
today.

Rainbow Raaja (01:40):
So, yeah, thank you for inviting me.
I'm happy to invite you.
You are kind of you're, you'rekind of hidden, so I don't think
a lot of people know about you,but you are so incredibly
powerful and you have so muchwisdom to share, and I'm just so
honored to be able to host youon this platform and to be able
to share your wisdom with thepeople out there who are seeking

(02:02):
it.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (02:03):
Thank you.
I feel like it's such animportant element to add into
our world.
I think, you know, with theenergies of today, I feel like
it's such an important thing tobring into our awareness, and I
don't know how familiar peopleare with shamanism or whether

(02:27):
they have an inkling of whatthat is, but really it's an
ancient practice.
It's something that isincredibly old, I mean thousands
of years old, and when youthink of shamans you think of,
you know, really, the firstpeople that navigated this world

(02:48):
of understanding and healing.
And you know we're kind of likethe middleman, you know,
working between the universe andhuman beings, and so it's
conveying information in ancientinformation, ancient wisdom, in

(03:11):
terms of what it is to be whole, what it is to be healthy, what
it is to be functioning, and sothere's many elements that are
tied into that, and so you wantto focus on earth elements and
earth elements.
Really it's kind of a beautifulplace to begin to be quite

(03:31):
honest, because earth is what weare comprised of.
You know, when you think aboutit, some of our own elements
within our own body.
You know how do we function, what about our blood, the iron
that's in it.
You know we think of all ofthese things.
We're not separate from theearth at all.

(03:52):
We're actually very connected.
And when you think of a veryimportant Celtic symbol, it's of
the tree, it's the tree of life.
That's what we refer to it as.
And when you think about thattree you think of, you know,
that tree is held strong becauseits foundation is the earth,

(04:16):
and its roots grow into thatearth and then it has this
vitality where it begins to grow, and then its leaves and
branches, you know, reach intothe sky, and that's our
connection to creator, theuniverse, heaven, however you
want to think about it right.
And so the foundation fromwhich we begin is that earth,

(04:40):
and and so it sustains us, itnurtures us, it keeps us strong,
it keeps us rooted, you know, and it becomes such a vital
element and such an importantway, even for the way that we
begin our day or the way that weretreat at the end of the day.

(05:02):
You know, retreat at the end ofthe day, you know.
How do we, what do we do tofind that rooting again, to find
that stability again?
You know, after we've spent aday out in the world, we come
home, in whatever shape we do,right.

Rainbow Raaja (05:17):
Or in the office.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (05:19):
Oh yeah, I know Anywhere, anywhere,
absolutely anywhere.
But I mean, the earth has thisbeautiful way of taking care of
us.
Like, think, you know, at theend of the day, or even before
you begin the day, going intoyour garden or going into any
garden or any park, taking yourshoes off and just allowing your

(05:40):
feet to feel that earth right, your feet to feel that earth
right, there's a pulse there.
You know, if we can just allowour mind to become quiet for a
moment, if we can just allowourselves to like, feel that
earth, to breathe, that in whatit does, even within a few

(06:02):
moments, to help to ground usright to, to renew us, to
recharge us, but also to connectus to something so very alive,
right, we don't think about that, do we?
On a regular basis?
We?

Rainbow Raaja (06:16):
know I don't think we do.
No, I do, but I don't thinkothers are thinking about that
very regularly.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (06:26):
Exactly, and we get disconnected from it.
And I think that's the biggestissue that we have in modern
times, you know, is the factthat we're busy, we live in a
society and in a culture that isvery technologically based, and
so we become very, verydisconnected.
And so how important is it,especially today, to remember

(06:52):
the you know, the simplicity andthe quiet and the tranquility
that we find in nature, whereverit may be, even if you live in
a busy place.
Grab a potted plant, even ifyou live in a busy place, grab a

(07:13):
potted plant, put it in yourhand and sit down for a moment
and just allow yourself toconnect with that plant.
Right, I mean, the plant isrooted in soil, in earth.
Right, it has a pulse, it has avibration, it has a frequency,
and so why do we not connecteven in that way?

Rainbow Raaja (07:27):
Just, very, very simply right, I kind of was
doing that yesterday withcrystals.
As you can see, I have a lot alot of crystals and it's been a
very long time since I usedcrystals for myself.
I used crystals for myself.

(07:48):
Normally I use them with myclients.
I'll set them up and kind ofplace them around my clients and
that's great and all.
But when was the last time thatI sat down and held a crystal
and was like, hmm, this is nice,I'm just going to sit and do
some Reiki and listen to thecrystal?
And I hadn't done that in solong?

(08:08):
And I sat down and I connectedwith the energy and each I had
like a couple of crystals outjust to kind of get my
confidence up, to help me getsome energy, because I was
working late.
Working late, I was like Igotta, I gotta do some extra
podcast things.
I'm gonna sit down and do it,even though I really just want

(08:33):
to go to bed.
And I was sitting with thosecrystals and connecting with
their energy.
Each one is so different, eachone has such a different
frequency and it's been so longsince I've connected with those
frequencies.
It's been so long since I'veconnected with those frequencies
.
It's been so long since Iremembered how that felt.
How that felt to like have adiscussion.
Oh, you went away.

(08:56):
You went away.
No.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (09:02):
No, maybe we needed to.

Rainbow Raaja (09:06):
I don't know we needed crystals.
Let's just share with thelisteners here what crystals you
and I had to go get in order tohave a nice clean stream.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (09:20):
Yeah, why don't we do that?
So I mean, I'm surrounded bycrystals all over this house.
I typically grid, just like youdo.

Rainbow Raaja (09:32):
Yeah.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (09:33):
Yeah, so I mean, there are so many
different crystals we can workwith I have.

Rainbow Raaja (09:38):
One of my favorites is Merlinite merlinite
oh I I love mystic merlin.
I use that for psychicprotection all the time it keeps
gross things out of my energyfield.
It does it's really powerful.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (09:53):
It's really , really powerful.
So I love things like thatbecause, interestingly enough,
it keeps us safe as we're doingthe energy work that we're doing
because we're opening up sothat we can access information,
but at the same time, you wantto make sure that everything
about your auric field isprotected.

(10:14):
So that's a wonderful way ofdoing it, but, interestingly
enough, it's also really helpfulfor when we are on technology,
because we don't seem to be verycompatible.
For when we are on technology, because we don't seem to be very
compatible, our frequencies andtechnology's frequencies differ
.
Even though we may think thatthey wouldn't, they do, and yeah

(10:43):
.

Rainbow Raaja (10:43):
So I find that sometimes what I have to do is
grid in order to be able to, youknow, utilize the technology
that's available to us.
Yeah, I find that technologyglitches a lot.
Whenever I'm doing energy work,I will you know like I used to
do a lot of recordings with mylight languages and the songs
that I would do, and half ofthose recordings didn't go
through unless I did a grid.
If I did a grid, it wentthrough just fine, or it would

(11:05):
come in, you'd see, like theseweird bands that would like, you
know, like, come through thescreen or whatever, but it would
at least record.
But the other half I've justhad to scrap, which is kind of
sad because it was a lot of goodcontent, but oh well, but it's

(11:26):
the life of a, of a channeler, you know exactly, exactly, and I
mean we're working with energyand we're working with different
frequencies and, um, it'sunfortunate that it isn't better
monitored or understood because, I feel like it would benefit
us in so many ways as opposed tosome of the technologies that

(11:50):
are readily available andseemingly understood, because
they seem to actually be verydetrimental for us.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (11:58):
So interesting topics.

Rainbow Raaja (12:01):
It is Well for those viewers out there that
don't know what happened.
Uh, we were having a grand oldtime doing our, our interview,
and video cut off on both ends,uh, and we had to boot
everything back up and um,olivia recommended that we we go
ahead and grab our crystals.
So I went and grabbed someshugolite, I've got some silica,

(12:25):
I've got some black tourmaline,I'm sitting on a giant piece of
rainbow hematite.
She even recommended somesodalite.
I put that on my audiointerface, so we are just
surrounded by crystals.
I'm sure Olivia has somecrystals that she is using.

(12:46):
She mentioned Merlinite and Iuse Mystic Merlinite whenever
I'm doing any kind of.
I do a lot of soul retrievalsand extractions and I feel that
Mystic Merlinite really helpsseparate the authentic soul from
any kind of projected or likethere.

(13:12):
It's kind of a controversialthing to talk about, but
sometimes there are things thatare implanted in people and you
gotta like that's not yours, wedon't know where that came from.
Maybe we'll talk about that onthe after show.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (13:28):
Yes, that would be, a great one to talk
about, absolutely yeah.

Rainbow Raaja (13:33):
But today we're going to talk about the earth
element and how it applies toCeltic shamanism.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (13:39):
Yeah, absolutely.
I mean we think about earth asin the soil, the ground, that
we're on, but the crystals arevery appropriate to this and it
is a piece of serpentine.
It's absolutely beautiful.

Rainbow Raaja (14:09):
Yes, that's, yeah , that's a.
That's a nice piece.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (14:13):
And so this really reminds me of my roots
and I refer to it as my soulhome because, honestly, it takes
me back into times that youknow, I haven't lived in this
present moment and yet I wasvery much a part of.

(14:34):
And again, all of these thingskeep us rooted, but, as a shaman
, our crystals are very real tous.
But, as a shaman, our crystalsare very real to us just as
everything is.
You know, the tree is real, thegrass is very real and alive.
Our crystals are very much alive.
They've been around forthousands of millions of years

(14:58):
and so, my gosh, do they notcarry with them, you know, this
incredible amount of energywisdom?
But Celtic shamans also believethat every element has a spirit
, and so they speak to us, andI'll give you a direct reference

(15:19):
to this how I really startedworking with crystals.
It actually began long ago.
It began when I was a littlegirl and my uncle, who was a
geological engineer, would bringfrom wherever he had traveled
these different stones, rocksand stones and crystals and

(15:43):
things like this stones, rocksand stones and crystals and
things like this, and they werethroughout his office and I
would love to pick them up andhold them, and I was amazed by
the things that they would speakof, and so having a piece of
black quartz, for example, thatcame from Siberia, was

(16:04):
interesting to hold on tobecause it embodied this
incredible amount of energy, andso I would describe these
crystals to him, or these stonesto him, and he was always so
fascinated.
It's like how do you know this?
How do you know that this youknow came from a cold place?

(16:25):
How do you know this?
How do you know that this, youknow, came from a cold place.
How do you know?
You know, and I would alwayssay to him well, because they
speak, they have a language.
They, if you sit with themquietly, they will speak to you
and, interestingly enough, theycarry their own frequencies.
But they also hold many healingproperties and qualities, and

(16:46):
this is one of the reasons why Iabsolutely love working with
them, whether I'm working as ahealer, working on someone's
energy, or whether I'm wantingto connect with my own energy
and allow myself the opportunityto either get grounded or to
get rebalanced, or simply justto grow and evolve and to

(17:10):
understand something beyond.
You know this moment, in themoment that I'm in.
So they're very powerful toolsand again, you know another
earth element that we don'ttypically think of.

Rainbow Raaja (17:23):
Yeah.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (17:24):
Yeah.

Rainbow Raaja (17:25):
You know, something I had ended up
studying a little bit going overthis particular season was that
in Celtic shamanism the use ofstone circles and stone spirals
is very, very prominent.
In Celtic shamanism, I know oneof the most powerful practices
that I had incorporated into myown practice was a stone spiral

(17:54):
that I had done in one of myoffices where I had placed like
hundreds of my crystals in apattern and it went all the way
around and I made almost awalkway where I walked between
the spiral and I had a storythat I had made as I was laying
them out to the center, where itwas like I was trying to make

(18:20):
the stones line up withnortheast, the stones line up
with northeast, south and west, and but I was also having them
line up with the planets and Iwas also having them line up in
a specific color spectrum.
So they were like I had it.
I had I put hours into makingthis spiral.
I was really bored oneafternoon, just made a giant

(18:42):
spiral and then I recorded itand I had taken this walk and I
was doing drumming as I waswalking into the spiral with the
intention of bringing in acertain energy or whatever.
It was starting a new journey.
I think it was right before Istarted my podcast and I sat in
the center of it and I justasked that all the crystals kind

(19:04):
of pour into me theirinformation, their healing, and
I was like my hands were likevibrating with how much energy,
like because I had taken thetime to show reverence at all
the directions as I traveled in.
I was doing medicine songs goingin in.
I was doing medicine songsgoing in and I even had, like

(19:26):
handmade, hand sewn, a shawlwith like it's like a cloak with
a hood on it and I I put all Idon't really know what had what
had pulled on me to do all thesethings, because getting me to
even get up and do one thing isnormally a challenge, but
somehow I had done all thesethings, because getting me to
even get up and do one thing isnormally a challenge, but
somehow I had done all thesethings that lined up to this

(19:49):
particular practice and it wasso powerful I could feel my
cells vibrating and I rememberthinking as I was sitting there
just breathing in these waves ofvibrations and frequency and
frequency keep in mind, you guys, this is not like I'm not

(20:09):
playing music, there wasn'tanything going on, it was just
rocks on the floor, just walked,I walked in a circle around
some rocks and sat down and itwas like being in I don't know
like a chamber.
That just was like vibrating.
I don't.
I haven't really experiencedanything like that again, but it

(20:32):
was.
It was really profound.
I think that that practicebecause I had read about it, and
then I was like, oh, I'm goingto try this, like the spiral
dance or something, I think thatcame from Celtic shamanism.
I don't know, you would knowbetter.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (20:46):
Yeah, it absolutely does.
I mean, we definitely work somuch with rocks, but this goes
back thousands of years as well, because you know, think about
labyrinths.
Yeah.
You know, and again, always inthe formation of a circle.

(21:06):
That's true, yeah, that areplaced in these labyrinths take
us essentially back into thecore of who we are right.
And your experience and youcreating that circle is very
much the same thing.
It's like this is I love whenthings like this happen, when we

(21:34):
do things without recognizingtruly why we're doing it,
because we're being led back ona spiritual or on a soul level,
to the core of what we are andwho we are and our connection
with creator.
It's very, very powerful.
It is truly very powerful.
And again it's um, it's abeautiful thing because it takes

(21:56):
us out of this present momentand it moves us back into a
particular, uh part of ourselves, to a particular point where
time no longer exists.
It's like the past, the present, the future, they're all within
this.
Yeah.

(22:17):
But it takes you back into thetrue essence of who you are and
again like that is such a very, very powerful thing and it's
been done for 1000s of years, you know, when you think back to
.
You know a lot of the Celticshamans would create these
circles for healing and so ifsomeone was ailing, they would

(22:42):
create these circles thecrystals would be amongst you
know what they were creating, the space that they were
creating.
They would use different typesof plants.
Often I've done that as well interms of some of the ritual.
You know you're going to bringin the essence of plants into

(23:05):
what you're doing because itlends, it's all about energy.
It increases the frequency ofthe vibration that we're
creating and in truth, you knowand science is beginning to sort
of catch on to this and workwith it a little bit more but
everything is about frequencyand healing most definitely is
about frequency and it doesn'tmatter where emotionally trying

(23:30):
to heal, whether we're mentallytrying to heal or whether we're
physically trying to heal, because all of those components
respond to frequency andvibration.
Yeah, it's powerful, but I loveit.

Rainbow Raaja (23:46):
Yeah, I love it too.
I love you know.
I feel that a lot of what I'vedone innately has been tied to
the Celtic shamanic practicesand I've I don't try to claim
any culture because I haven'tbeen, you know, like directly

(24:06):
trained by someone over many, many years.
Like I worked with you and youhad kind of told me, you know
you're already there, girl, youknow you don't need help and I
appreciate that.
But at the same time, therewere periods in my life where I
was like I was really lookingfor someone to be like, hey,
what should?
Let me give you words for whatyou're doing.

(24:28):
Let me help you understand, because I was doing it and, for
example, that practice that Ihad done, where I did the you
know the entire spiral and I'dput the stones in certain places
and I had, you know, craftedthis whole shawl or ceremonial
robe and um had done somesinging going into it and some

(24:55):
dancing.
I danced in the center of it.
It's like nobody had reallytaught me that.
I got an idea from a tarot cardthat said go do a spiral dance,
but literally that's all itsaid is a spiral dance.
I was that said go do a spiraldance, but literally that's all
it said is a spiral dance.
I was like I don't know what aspiral dance is, but here's some
crystals.
But I've always incorporatedherbs and I have Cunningham's
Book of Herbs, which some peoplesay isn't very accurate, but I

(25:19):
haven't really found anythingbetter.
So if you have any books torecommend, I'd highly, I'd
highly appreciate it.
But I have the Cunningham'sbook of magical herbs and I've
used that to kind of discernwhat is a good idea and
sometimes even the plantsthemselves, like if I'm seeing
the growing, well, I'm trying tomanifest more opportunities and

(25:40):
then I'll just sit with.
I like a box of like herbs thatI don't know.
I found a bunch of herbs my momhad kept in a cupboard that
looked like they were from the20s and I was like I don't know
where all these herbs came from, but they're old and they're in
cute little glass bottles withlike really old looking script
on them.
I'm just going to take them.
I was a teenager.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (26:03):
But you know what I was a teenager but,
but you know what I mean.
You are on to something and youknow.
This is critically important.
Shamans are not taught.
They come into this worldcontaining everything that they
need.
And so a lot of times, a shamanwill recognize another, and we

(26:25):
kind of work it seemscounterintuitive to growth and
learning.
However, we wait to see what weneed to see, and so what I mean
by that is when you first cameto me and I said to you you're
on the right path because youare beginning this journey.
Where you're now asking thosequestions, however, you already

(26:50):
I could tell vibrationally, whenI connected to your energy,
that you were already walkingthis path, because this path was
already belonging to you tobegin with.
And so a lot of times it seemslike we're doing things
backwards in shamanism, butwe're not.
It's like you've always got togo back to the core, but a true

(27:11):
shaman listens to their core andallows that to be the guide.
Later on, as we develop andrecognize actually who we are,

(27:37):
later on, as we develop andrecognize actually who we are,
that's when it becomes importantto connect with another shaman
so that we can share thatinformation more readily, so
that you understand what it isthat you're being guided to and
why.
Right.
And so that's exactly how youbegan this entire journey, how
you began this entire journey.
So we've kind of gone fullcircle now, because we're back
again to continue on a verydifferent path, one that perhaps
solidifies so much of what youare and what you've been doing

(27:58):
this entire time.
It's a very powerful thing, andthat's actually very typical of
you.
Know what it is to work with ashaman, what it is to work
within shamanism.
To begin with, it's reallyabout taking those ancient ways

(28:18):
of understanding and bringing itto the forefront in where we
are today, and it is actually avery, very powerful you kind of
you feel like you're straddlingtwo worlds.
I've lived my entire life thisway where, yes, I'm very much
rooted to the physical, but I'malso very much rooted to a world

(28:43):
that most people can't see orhear or even recognize that it
exists.
And that is really what it is towalk the path of a shaman.
You're never quite in one worldor the other.
You're in both at the same time.

Rainbow Raaja (28:59):
That can be really disorienting, that can be
really disorienting.
Yeah, it is as a shaman.
I mean, ever since I was a kidI was not well received by
anybody, including my parents.
You know there are things myparents liked about me, but for
the most part I've just alwaysbeen very off and I didn't know

(29:23):
what was wrong with me.
I didn't know what was wrongwith me.
I didn't know what was wrongwith me.
I was like, hey, I like myself,I seem to be pretty cool, I can
do magical things.
And why is everybody avoidingme?
Because I can do magical things?
That seems kind of silly.
Wouldn't they want a magicalfriend?
No, okay, well, that's finewith me.
I have the fairies.

(29:44):
Like I don't need you, I don'tneed friends.
I got fairies.
I've got this cool dragon thatI go and meditate with and he
shows me the rest of the world.
We've like flown around inTibet.
Like I don't need friends.

(30:06):
I'm a 33-year-old who goes onmagical journeys with sound a
little delusional, but the pointis is it's really disorienting
because as an only child Ididn't have siblings to like
verify my experiences.
I didn't.
My parents worked 40 hour aweek jobs and were never around,
and I had babysitters who justkind of put me in front of the
TV or I was just kind of runningaround outside all by myself

(30:28):
and so there wasn't a lot ofpeople who could verify things.
Until I started in massageschool and I had teachers who
outright recognized.
They were like hey, you've gotsome cool things going on, we're
going to help you becauseyou're not grounded at all.

(30:48):
You've got some energeticissues, you have a lot of wounds
, we're going to teach you howto deal with that.
And they did, and I'm sograteful to them.
They helped me heal all that.
But it was really being a shamanin this day and age where you
have to fit in, to be accepted, and if you're not accepted, then

(31:10):
everybody just kind ofostracizes you.
They medicate you, they, they.
They're like oh, there'ssomething wrong with you.
This one's, this one goes inthe trash.
And we'll focus on these onesover here who produce results
trash and we'll focus on theseones over here who produce
results.
It's, it's.
It's really harmful to thepsyche, it's harmful to the soul
, because you're just.

(31:30):
You know, if anything I feellike, what I bring to, to a
connection with someone is sucha high value, not just on like
hey, I can heal you, I can giveyou good insight.
I'm an extremely loyal friend.
I've never just dipped out onsomeone for no reason.
I may be inconsistent, becausetime doesn't flow linearly for

(31:56):
me.
I admit that.
But for the most part I am anextremely loyal individual who
gives good advice.
I'm a good healer, I have a lotof fun, I have a lot of
boundless energy.
I'm a creative blah, blah blahand I think a lot of shaman art,
a lot of those things.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (32:12):
Absolutely.
I mean, we don't come into thisworld to fit in, we don't.
But it takes a while tounderstand that because you just
want to belong takes a while tounderstand that, because you
just want to belong.
You know you want lonely, exactly, and that's exactly a
part of it as well.
We are very solitary in how wedo things.
I'm sure you'll be able torelate to this too.

(32:35):
You know most of us are verymuch the observer of life.
You know you tend to perceivethings and see things in a very
different nature.
And it's not that we're notgrounded.
We are grounded because youknow we understand what, what
you know the importance of beinggrounded, even though it feels

(33:01):
very nice to be in the higherfrequencies.
Right, who?
wouldn't, want that.
The key is to understand thejourney and also to allow for
the journey, because that's whatallows us to evolve.
So the shaman that I was at theage of, you know, 10, or the
age of 20, or the age of 30 or40, 50.

(33:25):
Now, in my 60s, is very, verydifferent.
I've evolved into thisindividual that I am today.
I've, like I really honed in interms of what those skills and
arts are and you know, for thevery first time actually, I
embrace all of those differentfacets of who I was in the past,

(33:49):
you know, because it bringssuch wisdom.
However, it brings somethingelse that's really really
incredibly magical, as that youknow little child and see the
beauty of that little child andrecognize that that child is.
You know it is forever withinyou as well.

(34:10):
No matter how old you end upbeing, that child is still there
and that in itself is such amagical thing to behold.

Rainbow Raaja (34:20):
If you can feel that child and allow that
exuberance to like, affect theenergy that you are today, right
and going forward that's areally touching sentiment
because, like I know how youknow how you had spoken at all

(34:44):
the different decades of ashaman that you were and how you
were, you've evolved andchanged and I was kind of
brought into a state of thinkingabout the shaman that I was at
10 and I remember just being sofluid with all these different

(35:06):
realms and then the I didn'tknow they were all separate.
I thought they were all justflowing together.
I thought everybody could seeit, everybody could see these
realms, and I just was like, ohyeah, everybody can see the
fairies and everybody can seethe ghosts over there.
What you don't see, the shadowguy, and everybody can see the
ghosts over there.
What you don't see, the shadowguy that stands behind you.

(35:28):
Are you kidding me?
Like I just thought everybodycould see that.
And then when my mom startedmedicating me, I felt like I
lost a lot of my intelligence orlike my innate connection to
all of those realms and myability to be lucid in reality

(35:49):
was taken away from me for adecade and until I hit my 20s
and I was like that was when Ilike really, I was like I'm not,
I'm not what you say, I am, I,I'm taking back my sovereignty.
I'm not going to be takingmedication.
I'm taking back my sovereignty.
I'm not going to be takingmedication.
You guys can go find someoneelse to peddle your pills onto.

(36:09):
I'm not going to take them andit took me years to reclaim.
I don't think I'm ever going tobe the same.
To be honest, I don't think Ifully healed from the deep
pharmaceutical psychosisosis.
It really took a lot away fromme, but I'm I'm grateful that

(36:31):
I've pulled myself out and thatI didn't like play into that
narrative my whole life.
But I was such a powerfullittle 10 year old and even
though at 20 I wasn't aspowerful or as tuned in or as
connected as I was when I was 10, like there was a difference in
how I was interacting I startedto do like Reiki and energy

(36:52):
work.
So I like, I like, focusedmyself in on like the light.
And then here in my 30s I ammore discerning.
So I'm not going out and justgiving any old hoo-ha on Venice
Boulevard free advice.
I'm like, hey, is thisindividual ready for the advice
I have?
They're probably not.
I'm not just going to go givesome strangers some divine

(37:16):
guidance on the entity I seefollowing their footsteps.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (37:21):
That also is another trait.
A shamanic trait is recognizingthat you can't heal others.
It's not your responsibility toheal others.
There has to be in shamanism, there has to be accountability
right.
So a shaman will often ask ifsomeone comes to me.

(37:41):
Often ask if someone comes tome, for example, and wants to
learn or heal.
I'll ask what the intention is,Okay, but I will also ask in
terms of their accountability, how accountable are you to this
journey?
Right.
Are you fully in and are you,you know, doing it for all the

(38:02):
right reasons?
Right, because people havedifferent reasons that they come
to you.
I don't believe that you canteach shamanism as you would any
other thing where you kind ofread chapter one, two, three,
you know, here we go.
And no, inherently there'ssomething within you that is
propelling you forward.

(38:22):
You recognize something youknow.
I've often said I'm not goingto, you're not and I'm not going
to discover something aboutmyself.
I'm actually going to uncoverthings they're there already,
but I'm going to uncover, layerby layer, so that I fully
recognize what I'm all about andwhat I've always maintained

(38:44):
within myself.
Right.
So, it's kind of like amaturing where you

Rainbow Raaja (38:51):
oh , did it again.
Technology.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (38:58):
I know, I know, can you see me?

Rainbow Raaja (39:02):
I can.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (39:03):
I can't see you anymore.

Rainbow Raaja (39:06):
Let's fix that.
There we go, we're back.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (39:12):
That is wild.
I wonder how many more timesthat's going to happen.

Rainbow Raaja (39:16):
Hopefully not any .

Rev. Olivia Sultana (39:19):
Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Let's keep our fingers crossedwhat I was simply saying.
with shamanism, it's like therehas to be a level of personal
responsibility andaccountability yes, and so there
are many reasons why peopleapproach us for healing and for

(39:42):
knowledge, for healing and forknowledge.
But my thing is always, youknow, is that individual ready
right?
Because I remember mygrandmother.
She was very, she was a veryinteresting lady, she was an
herbalist, she was very much ashaman, and I remember her
always saying to me noteverybody's going to hear you.
You can talk, but not everybodywill hear you.

(40:04):
The ones that are, you know, ready to begin the journey, and
the ones that have within themtheir senses that are open, they
will hear and feel absolutelyeverything you say.
And that's exactly where youknow, as a child.
It's not that we come in in anyway, but perfect.

(40:28):
But we come in a little bitdifferently in that we have
arrived in this physicalincarnation and our senses are
fully open.
That means all of our physicalsenses, you know the eyes, the
ears, the nose, all of thatright.
Like we can smell, we can.
But our other senses, our clearsenses, are, are very much a

(40:54):
part of who we are.
We're not disconnected fromthem.
We don't have to learn how touse them because they're already
there.
So this is why I say, in someways we're working backwards,
because you know we're trying tofit in, but we stand out
because we are open.
We are completely open, yeah.

(41:16):
Whereas it takes some peoplemaybe even a lifetime to come to
that place where they begin toopen to the reality of their
creation right, yeah.
And so we all come in withthese senses, but are we
utilizing them?

Rainbow Raaja (41:35):
You know, I had a young woman came to me in about
20, I think it was 2017.
She had come to me through agroupon package or whatever it
was.
And, um, she was interested andI did a session on her and she
was like that was phenomenal, that changed my life.
I want to learn from you.

(41:56):
And she she was.
She was barely 18 and I sat herdown and I asked her like why
do you want to do this?
And she was like well, I'vealways been able to connect with
these, these particular realms, and I'm in this bad situation
with my parents.
And at the time, I had badsituation with my parents when I

(42:19):
was 18.
And I was like, girl, I feelyou, I would love to teach you
so you can get out of there, right, but what I wasn't, you
know.
I had kind of been away from myparents long enough to forget
the reactivity that comes withbeing in a trauma cycle and

(42:41):
trying to get assistance whilein that trauma cycle.
And so she came back to me forour first class and we didn't
even get 15 minutes into thatclass because I sat her down.
I was like, okay, we're goingto just start this class off
with a grounding meditation.
And she's like, okay, and she'sall ready to go.
She's like super excited.
And I was like, yeah, I'm superexcited too, but she had come in

(43:02):
from a fight with her parents.
So she was like still like youcould feel it in her energy.
She's like super buzzy and likereally reactive and really like
pissed off.
And and she had like kind ofstarted talking to me about it.
I was like, no, we're not.
We're not bringing that into, into our.
We're not.
That's not.
You just leave that outside.
You can touch that later if youwant to, but I I don't want it

(43:25):
in here.
She's like okay, fine, I waslike we're gonna do a grounding
practice to get you present andI was like just take a deep
breath in.
She's like I can't.
And I was like whatcan't.
She's like I can't.
What do you mean?
You're expecting me to breathe?
Like it was like well, you doit all the time, naturally.
Like why can't you breathe?

(43:47):
It's just like are you, are younot human?
I'm, I'm confused.
And she's like like how dareyou say you know that, that,
that you know that I'm not doingit right?
I was like, no, no, I'm not,I'm not saying you're not doing
it right.
You're telling me you're, youcan't do it.
I'm, I'm confused how you can'ttake a breath.
got really like reactive andthen I like was like, okay, calm

(44:08):
down, you know, my, mysix-year-old daughter she gets
temper tantrums and I've I'vecoached her into like calming
her system down and taking deepbreaths.
And she's like what are yousaying?
You saying that you're like sixyear old is better than me.
I was like no, I'm saying thatif you calm down, I can guide

(44:29):
you through how to do this, because if my six year old can
do it, you can too.
And she got so pissed and I waslike I know, you know she's
like fuming.
And I was like, hey, it's OK, Iknow you're 18.
I know everything feels likeit's life or death right now and
all she heard was that I wascalling out her age and saying

(44:52):
that I was better than her.
I was like, ok, well, there'sno way that I can salvage this,
because right now this person isnot ready to take
accountability, they're not ableto step into a space where they
are able to learn from someoneelse.
They're not able to kind of sitin their own body and go hmm,

(45:12):
why can't I take a breath rightnow?
What's stopping me frombreathing?
Is it my mind?
Is it my emotions?
And this young lady like I,literally after she left, I
cried for her.
I cried so freaking hardbecause my heart hurt that this,
this person that I felt was apretty good fit for learning

(45:35):
shamanic practices.
She was very um, her energy hadsuch a powerful signature and I
was like I would love to beable to teach her.
But the issue is is I can'tteach someone who is trying to
fight the teacher.
If you are a reactive person, you are, like you know,
questioning everything that yourteacher.

(45:56):
You know I'm not like yourmoney is not important to me,
truly Like I would love themoney I have children I have to
raise.
It's important for me to raisechildren.
But like she kept saying, well, you're going to lose my
business now and I'm like I was.
You haven't paid me for thelast three sessions.
I was doing them out of thekindness of my heart to, because

(46:17):
you said you were a poorteenager and I just wanted to
help you.
So like I don't mind, like I I.
But she called me years laterand was like that session, just
really, you know, it's been onmy mind for years.
And I was like, well, let's talkabout it.
And she just kept screaming, she wouldn't even let me speak.
And then she said somethingabout wanting to um, you know
herself.
And I was like, ok, well, as amandated reporter, I now have to

(46:42):
contact the authorities.
I'm really really sorry.
And I had to call and havesomething done about it because,
like it's been years and thisgirl was still reactive to,
still just me trying to calm herbody down.
She didn't understand that Iwas trying to create a container
where she was safe and mecreating safety for her was such

(47:05):
a threat and like when you weretalking about finding the right
students, like if you aresomeone who is that reactive,
like you need sessions, you needreiki, you, but you, you
probably aren't ready to walkthis path because it's you're
not going to be a receptivestudent.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (47:28):
No, absolutely, and it's kind of
like you know it's equating itto think about the glass and the
water.
You know if you have a fullglass of toxic water toxic like
we have.
We have things we need tounderstand and it's usually the
difficult stuff of this lifethat we need to understand

(47:51):
whether it's traumaticexperiences we've had and they
can be varied, but you cannotpour into that glass until you
remove some of that.
Yeah right, and so I often lookat that.
You know, part of the journeyand part of our responsibility.
You know, if we are walkingthis path, is that number one.

(48:14):
We are that clear container weare.
You know you were walking thetalk.
You're not just out theretalking about this.
This is not just what you do,it isn't what you put on, it's
what you actually are, it's whatyou live and breathe.
It is the essence of who youare, everything that you speak,

(48:41):
everything that you touch, everything that you do.
It doesn't mean that we'reperfect.
We're not.
We're imperfect.
We're in that imperfect stateof evolution, right.
And so, as we evolve and staytrue to this, we come to this
place where we become morerefined in who we are and what

(49:02):
we practice right.
Yeah.
And so it becomes very, veryimportant that the students that
come to us, the people thatwant to learn or the people that
want to heal and it's kind of alittle bit of both really- yeah
then you know that they areopen and receptive to learning,
but also taking accountabilityfor this journey.

(49:23):
I'm not going to heal you.
I might help facilitatesomething.
I may be the lantern bearerthat holds that light so that
you can see.
However, I'm not going to showyou what you need to see right.

Rainbow Raaja (49:40):
Yeah.
That is something that will cometo you and that's unique to
each and every individual Ithink that's something that is
so commonly misunderstood abouthealing modalities as people,
especially people with like somuch on their plate or so much
trauma, like they've beenthrough the ringer, they go to
um like a reiki therapist orthey go to a shaman and they're

(50:03):
like all right, here's my body, fix me and heal me.
Just just, I'm just going tolay here and you do all the work
.
And that's not.
That's not how this works, like, and I have to tell people like
hey, this is, this is aco-creation.
What you put into this is whatyou'll get out of it.
Sure, you can lay down on mytable and I'll do Reiki, but if

(50:26):
in your head you are stillbenefiting from these negative
toxic cycles that areperpetuating your life and you
may not realize you'rebenefiting from them, but if
you're using your mental illnessas an excuse as to why you
can't do certain things in yourlife and it's enabling you to
continue not doing certainthings, like getting a real job,
you're not going to heal that.

(50:49):
If you are ready to heal thatmental illness and you're ready
to take on the responsibility ofpicking up a real job, you're
ready to take on theresponsibility of being a
working member of society, thenyou can heal that.
But if you are like on thefence, you're like I don't know,
I really like my disabilitycheck.

(51:09):
I don't know, maybe it would benice to get that.
You know, I don't like to haveto do things.
I like to have an excuse that Ikind of like having these
mental breakdowns because itforces me to rest, because
everybody expects me to docertain things.
I've been there, as you cantell, and it was.

(51:38):
I didn't realize that it is anexcuse.
I utilize my mental illness topretty much force other people
who have expectations out of meto give me space Instead of
setting my own boundary.
I pretty much just have amental breakdown and nobody

(51:59):
wants to deal with me.
And also, I don't have to get anormal person job Because
normal.
You know this, it's allsubconscious.
It's subconscious.
But there's there's otherillnesses that we get, you know,
having pains in your knees oryou know any kind of arthritis
like there is.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (52:20):
Well, shamanism will recognize always
that whatever we're manifestingphysically actually began in a
very, very different manner.
The physical aspect of whateverit is that we feel, whatever
sort of disease we manifest, isreally the the last frontier.

(52:41):
So it began somewhere else andit generally has to do with the
spirit right so you know, I'veoften taught that we are, we're
like those little russianstacking dolls, you know yeah,
the nesting, dolls yeah, we openit up.
There's another one inside.
Open that one up.
There's another one inside andwe're very much like that.

(53:02):
We're encased in a physical body.
Right.
We have emotions, we have aspirit, we have a mind.
That's all inside, right, andso we have this physical.
You know, we often hear this aswell.
You know, mind, body, healingtype of thing, right, mind,

(53:26):
spirit, body, all of thosethings they're, of course,
they're all integrated withinwho we are as as a being right,
and so we are very much encasedin this physical body.
But that's not where it began, and so a lot of times when we
look at healing, we need to lookat it from a very different

(53:46):
perspective, and that's one ofthe things that I've always
enjoyed, also as an energytherapist, is the fact that when
I am working on someonephysically, their body speaks to
me and tells me where theproblems are physically within
the body to me, and tells mewhere the problems are
physically within the body.
But then their spirit starts tospeak and I get to hear all the

(54:08):
things that have impacted thisindividual earlier on in this
life.
But then something else happenswhere, on a very different
level, so on a soul level, Ibegin to understand what this
person's journey has been allabout prior to incarnating, you
know, to coming into this lifeand some of the challenges that

(54:29):
we face, all of us and sometimesyou know when you're dealing
with people and this issomething I've taught all of my
students over the course of timeis you need to get out of your
own way.
Sometimes, right, we're hellbent on going in a particular
direction and the universe issaying, hell, no, that is not
the right way to go, right, butwe sometimes don't get that

(54:54):
message.
We don't get it because we'reso locked into expectations, the
status quo, the trauma thatI've experienced, the status quo
, the trauma that I'veexperienced, god knows.
There's a million and onereasons that we'll come up with
as human beings as to why lifefeels the way it is or why it
looks the way it does.
And absolutely some of us havegone through really traumatic

(55:17):
things.
But again, in shamanism, whatare you going to do to get
yourself back?

Rainbow Raaja (55:23):
Yeah, so speaking of what we're going to do to
get ourself back.
I really love that.
The core of what we've talkedabout today was we've have plant
medicine, we have crystalmedicine and we talk about the,
the.
You know self-healing, the bodyand how the body itself has

(55:47):
information that like ties intohow you can heal it, how you can
work with it, and so I'mwondering if there is a Celtic
practice that you can share withthe listeners that might
incorporate those three elements.
You know, if you could guide usthrough a practice that they

(56:13):
can use in their, in theireveryday.
You know, self healing, whatever to raise their
vibration, and all that stuff.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (56:19):
You bet, you bet.
That's one of my favoritethings to do.
Well, I say that abouteverything.
I love it all.
I have this passion for livinglife and sharing.
Same and it's all about love, like we're connecting on that
level.
So, absolutely, how would weincorporate any of this?

(56:41):
So, whether you work withcrystals or don't have crystals,
go outside, pick up a leaf, pick up a rock, it doesn't
matter what it is, bring it backin, find yourself a comfortable
spot to sit and hold on to that.
So grab a crystal right now, because I'll take you through a

(57:01):
little bit of a journey intoreconnecting with yourself and
clearing some of yourself.
Yeah, what have you got there?

Rainbow Raaja (57:13):
I don't know if you can see it, it's I.
It starts with an s.
I don't know, it's a long name,it's like s, co-l something.
It's a big long name.
I don't know, it's a.
It's a crystal.
It's in one of my crystal booksI got.
I got the melody melody crystalbook and I think I had got it

(57:38):
because it recommended it inthere.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (57:41):
So all right, well, right, well, let's
begin.
So, if you are right-handed,then hold your crystal in your
left hand, because I want you tohold the crystal in a
non-dominant hand.

Rainbow Raaja (57:54):
Okay.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (57:54):
Reason being is that hand tends to be a
little bit more sensitive, whereas the other one is a
thinker.
And now what I want you to dois just bring your hands
together Right and get comfy, sit in a comfortable spot and do
exactly that close your eyes, tune out the world, just go into

(58:17):
a quiet space.
And what I want to do is I wantto reconnect you to the earth
because I want you to refocusyour breath.
You know, I want you to breathein through your nose.

(58:42):
That foot and your feet thatare touching the ground are
actually taking that breath in,and so, as you breathe in, feel
that breath being drawn inthrough the soles of your feet

(59:02):
and as you exhale, you exhalethat old breath and it leaves
your body through your feet.
And as you exhale, you exhalethat old breath and it leaves
your body through your feet andyour whole body begins to
breathe in this way.
And with your next breath, Iwant you to actually feel that

(59:23):
breath and see it as a lightentering through the soles of
your feet, and you might evenbegin to feel a vibration in
your feet, perhaps in your toes, and as you breathe, I want you

(59:50):
to draw that breath and thatlight further into the body so
that it moves through your feetinto your ankles and it begins
to soften the ankles, softenyour calves.
And every time you breathe outthat old energy in your body,
you're going to breathe that outand the earth is going to take
that breath away, replenishingyou with a new breath.

(01:00:13):
And that breath you'll draweven higher into your body.
It'll soften your knees, it'llmove into your thighs, it'll
soften all the muscles, relaxall the muscles, release any of

(01:00:34):
the pain you might feel there.
And as you breathe, that breathmoves into your body so easily

(01:01:10):
that old energy leaves us andthe new energy flows and goes
higher and higher into ourdiaphragm, opening it wide,
moving into our heart, openingour heart, clearing our heart.

(01:01:42):
As your breath moves, it softensyour throat, it loosens the
muscles in your neck and in yourshoulders and that relaxation,
that softness, moves all the waydown your arms into your hands

(01:02:26):
and as you breathe, more of yourbody relaxes, more of that
energy flows, moving into yourjaw, softening it, softening all
the muscles around your mouth, all the muscles in your cheeks,
your eyelids becoming heavy, your brow softening, all that
tension leaving and that energyflows all the way to the top of
your crown, opening your crown, and I want you to imagine the
rays of the sun above you andthose rays cascade down onto you

(01:02:49):
, cascading over your body, theearth, providing you with breath
, the sun providing you withthat beautiful light, clearing
all of your energy until you'releft with a body that flows with

(01:03:14):
light, with breath.
You are completely rooted rootedto the earth and you're open to
the heavens.
You're open to the universe, inperfect balance, flowing clear,

(01:03:47):
strong, renewed, beautiful andbrilliant.
Allow yourself to stay in thatand know that you flow with that
at all times.
Slowly come back into yourawareness, reconnect and, when
you're fully back, open youreyes I love the ooey gooey

(01:04:11):
energy.

Rainbow Raaja (01:04:12):
It's always my favorite.
Thank you so much for sharingthat.
I have a really similarpractice with like deep
grounding.
That's kind of one of the basicgrounding practices that I give
to my students is, you know, bringing their awareness to the
soles of their feet, yeah, andlearning to breathe through the

(01:04:36):
soles of your feet.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (01:04:37):
Yeah, Her very first element right
Connecting to the earth.

Rainbow Raaja (01:04:42):
I was the.
That was the first practice inmy career at school.
That was a complete gamechanger for helping me with
emotional regulation, absolutely.
I had such volatile emotionalum roller coasters and I had a

(01:05:03):
teacher who just sat me down anddid energy work and was like
you just need to sink.
I want you to breathe andimagine a pit opening up beneath
you and you're just going todrop everything.
My whole body started to feelfuzzy, like, like, like when a
limb falls asleep.
My whole body felt like thatand I was like I don't like this

(01:05:26):
, the word, I hate this feelingLike.
Ever since I was a kid, thefeeling of having an arm or a
leg fall asleep was like themost painful feeling.
And she's like.
You just got to breathe into it, breathe into that pain.
You got to be the discomfortfor just release, like release,
like I was like, but my wholebody is falling asleep.
She's like no, it's not, you'redoing a release, you need to
release.

(01:05:47):
And that day I learned thatwhen your limbs fall asleep,
you're actually doing, you'redoing like an a release.
Your, your body is releasingenergy that's too dense for you.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (01:06:01):
Absolutely.
I mean, look at all the thingsthat happen.
When you do that Number one, you're connecting with your
breath.
When you connect with yourbreath.
On a physiological level, itsignals to the body you're safe,
You're safe, right.
So what you're doingessentially is you're allowing
your body to enter into a stateof healing, homeostasis, rest

(01:06:26):
and repair right, that's right.
When you start breathing thatway also, it signals to the
brain something else ishappening.
You've closed your eyes, you'veturned out all of the sensory
things that we're so preoccupiedwith.
You allow yourself to go into adifferent state.
All of a sudden.

(01:06:46):
Now the brain waves start toreally slow themselves down, and
yet the frequency of the braingoes up.
It's kind of like that antennaHang on.
I'm picking up differentchannels, right, and so you're
connecting with the higherlevels of energy, universal

(01:07:09):
energy, your own higher self, sothat you can go into this
beautiful state of just healing,resting.
That little exercise didn'ttake very long.
What did it take?
Take A few minutes, right.
Yeah.
That's all you really trulyneed, if you can just remind
yourself to do that eventhroughout the day.

(01:07:30):
If you're having a day whereit's just feeling like Jesus,
kill me now.

Rainbow Raaja (01:07:35):
Yeah, not that you would ever say no, no.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (01:07:40):
Where it's just atrocious right you're off
your feet.
You know the phone's ringing.
You've got a millionresponsibilities.
You're overwhelmed right thatis horrible for your body on so
many different levels right thatfight or flight sort of
sensation.
It's actually really reallydetrimental for the body on so

(01:08:01):
many levels, and so, if you canjust remind yourself to ground.
Get into that space.
Let your feet touch the floor, uncross your legs, you know.
Close your eyes, connect withyour breath, even if you're
doing it in, you know, I don'tknow the lunchroom, the bathroom
, it doesn't even matter, justas long as you have the

(01:08:22):
opportunity to do that and justbalance your body off again,
yeah, yeah, I love that yeah.

Rainbow Raaja (01:08:31):
Hmm, well, I'm so glad that you were able to
share that practice with us, andbefore we close out for today,
I'd like to, you know, just kindof talk a little bit about the
difference of Celtic shamanismversus the other cultures of the
planet and just like if youcould give us a little

(01:08:54):
background on what makes Celticshamanism unique and how Celtic
shamanism uses the elements, because we talked about how, in
particular, you use earth, but,um, we're going to be covering
all the rest of the elements, um, all five elements, over the
rest of the season, and I'd loveour viewers to know a little

(01:09:14):
bit more about what Celticshamanism is and, um, should
they want to work with you, orto take your courses, your
workshops, what they can kind oflook forward to learning about
when they come and work with you.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (01:09:29):
Absolutely, I think, when we look at
shamanism because we've gotshamanism throughout the world-
whether you're in Europe, whether you are in England,
scotland, whether you're inRussia, wherever North America,
south America, there are shamanseverywhere and you know
uniquely.

(01:09:49):
We are different and yet thesame at the same time.
So our languages might bedifferent, our tools might vary
a little bit, but at the end ofthe day, there are these
parallels.
And so what makes Celticshamanism different over, let's

(01:10:11):
say, north American or SouthAmerican shamanism are some of
the tools that we use.
You know whether we're usingcrystals, whether we're using,
for example, something simple.
So a lot of us are familiarwith saging, clearing energy,
and so sometimes in NorthAmerica we tend to use white

(01:10:36):
sage very often to do that right.
In Celtic shamanism we may useother herbs to sage what?

Rainbow Raaja (01:10:45):
what herbs are you guys using?

Rev. Olivia Sultana (01:10:47):
so, for example, we may use things like
rosemary rosemary forpurification right I've used
rosemary.

Rainbow Raaja (01:10:56):
That was the first cleansing herb that I was
called to use.
I like gathered it in front ofmy house and my spirit team was
like, um, I would write thingson pieces of paper that I wanted
to like release from my life, and then they told me to put
rosemary in it and to set it onfire.
So I'd like twist the top ofthe paper and set it on fire

(01:11:19):
like little tiny bomb, and, um,the rosemary like pops, it like.
But um, that was like one ofthe first herbs that called to
me.
So that's I.
I just got excited because Ididn't know that.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (01:11:33):
So, yay yeah, so I mean, there are herbs
that we would use that are alittle bit different.
So the other thing when I'mmaking my bundles, I will use
rosemary, I will use thyme and Iwill use lavender.
A lot of times.
What I will use are rose petalsas well, and a lot of bay
leaves, and so I'll create mybundle with that.

(01:11:55):
Each one is significant fordifferent reasons, and so
lavender is for cleansing, it'sfor um, also purification.

Rainbow Raaja (01:12:05):
Oh, you paused.
No, let's see if we can get youback.
Nope, darn it.
Why does it keep doing this?
It's my internet connection.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (01:12:17):
That's what it is yes, so lavender is um
also purifying, in that it ismeant to ward off any bugs,
viruses even, like when youthink of lavender oil, it's
antibacterial, antiviral, and sothey would have used that right

(01:12:38):
, especially during times wheresickness is prevalent, you know.

Rainbow Raaja (01:12:43):
think of the different times of the year.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (01:12:45):
Exactly so you would use things like that.
Time is used also because italso has very much similar
qualities to it, and so, again, with time, it's actually warding
off any of the negative energythat might be around us, right?

(01:13:07):
And so, when you think of bayleaves, bay leaves are also very
purifying, but they're going tosend the message of whatever it
is that we're releasing to theheavens, whatever it is that
we're releasing to the heavens, right To creator, to a higher
source, and so there's a reasonwhy we would sage with all of

(01:13:28):
these, it's like you're sagingfirst for yourself, you're
saging the environment thatyou're a part of, and then
you're sending that message alsoto creator.
So please join me with all ofthis, right?
and so both energies cometogether.
Something else that we do inceltic traditions is that we

(01:13:48):
sprinkle salt and we create acircle of salt, and that salt is
for protection, so nothingcomes into that.
So within that circle, we arecompletely safe to do whatever
it is that we want to do,whether it has to do with
healing of ourselves, of others,or whether we're simply

(01:14:09):
communing with creator movies, but I I think that it it's just.
It was just one of those innatethings where I was like I want
protection salt exactly well, you know a lot of our traditions

(01:14:30):
right salt over the shouldertype of.
Thing they originated fromsomeplace where did it come from
?
Why is it?
Used, it's just, it's beenforgotten, right yeah yeah, so
yeah, those are just a few ofthe things, that tools that
perhaps we use.
The other thing we use readilyis sacred water and so sacred.

(01:14:54):
Water is water that we haveattuned, and so you will take it
from a river or from a brook orfrom an ocean, wherever you are
right.
I'm from an area where we weresurrounded by water.
We had water, and so you wouldbring that in and again, you

(01:15:15):
would sprinkle the salt into it,you would put your herbs into
it.
And so oftentimes I would userose, for example.
Rose is used in your saging, but it's also used in the water,
because rose has the highestvibration and it's connecting us
to the heart and to love, divine love.

(01:15:37):
Oh, that's nice.

Rainbow Raaja (01:15:39):
Yeah, yeah, I think it's so interesting
because, like there's so manytools that are cross-cultural,
for example, in like celticshamanism I know you guys use
drumming and dancing andcrystals but all those things
are also used in like australianab Aboriginal culture and

(01:16:00):
Native American culture, inSouth American culture, in
Siberian culture, and I I justfind that so fascinating that,
like all these places that wereseparated by expanses of space
with no way to communicate, there was no technology, there
was no phones, there was no,there was no post, and they all

(01:16:22):
seemed to tap into the sameresources, but they were all
unique applications, like eventhe christian beliefs.
They have holy water, they havethat.
They have their like little, their frankincense, that's right
, that's right, it's all allvery similar.
They have prayers, which ispretty much the same as like us

(01:16:44):
going on journeying or ussitting with our, our crystals
or our stones.
I just I think it's sofascinating that pretty much
every belief system has theseingrained similarities that are
cross-cultural.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (01:17:06):
Absolutely.
And geographical.
Yeah, we're using the toolsthat are abundant for us
wherever we are, and that's whythey may differ, but ultimately,
how we use them, theapplications are very much the
same, because what we're tryingto do is heal, raise energy,
raise vibrations, remove things.

(01:17:28):
So the applications would bevery, very much in line and
parallel.
Yeah, it's beautiful.
I love it.
I truly love it.

Rainbow Raaja (01:17:38):
I love it too.
Well, if any of you viewers andlisteners would like to connect

(01:18:01):
as well.
And if you have any classes orworkshops coming up, let us know
.

Rev. Olivia Sultana (01:18:08):
Absolutely I will.
I definitely will.
Yeah, this is interesting timesand we are heading into very
powerful times, and I think thiswas so timely because, really,
it's about empowering ourselves, grounding ourselves, feeling

(01:18:29):
alive.
Right, we all have a purpose.
What is that purpose?
And like, have we goteverything we need within us,
you know, to move forward andconnect with that purpose,
whether it's personally, justfor ourselves, or whether it's
for humanity and the earth?
I think all of these things areso, you know, interwoven into
who we are and what we're herefor.

(01:18:50):
Yeah, so thank you for today.

Rainbow Raaja (01:18:53):
Yeah, thank you, and I'm really excited because
we're going to have like a likea behind the scenes
controversial talk on onprotection and frequency and uh,
some some psychic, psychic uh,entity in plants and stuff after

(01:19:18):
this.
But it's on my patreon.
So if you're interested incontinuing our conversation,

(01:20:00):
powerful.
Wouldn't consider yourself that, but I, I think you're very
powerful.
I've, I I'm so grateful to haveyou in my corner and I know
that if you're out there, you'relooking.
You're looking for a teacher.
