Rainbow Raaja (00:12):
Hello, hello, hello and welcome to Rainbows
Rising where we ascend together.
I'm your host, Rainbow Raaja.
And I have a remarkable guest ontoday. You have been listening
to her music this entire season, and a little bit from last
season as well. Today I haveChakuna Machi Asa. And she is an

(00:38):
just a remarkable artist, amusical artist. She makes these
incredible chants that are greatfor meditation. They're great
for collaboration. They're justgreat for background music while
you're writing your next novel.
Welcome, welcome. takuna How areyou today?

Chakuna Machi Asa (00:54):
I'm good.
Thank you so much for having mehere. I'm so excited to be on
your podcast, I've listened toit a lot. And I, I just love it.
I love how interactive it is,and how you're really helping
people to more deeply connectwith themselves. And so I'm
really excited to be here.

Rainbow Raaja (01:14):
I love hearing the feedback, that means so much
to me, and I'm so glad that youare benefiting from the show as
well that you're enjoying it andthat you're using it for your
own practice. That means like,it means the world to me. So
thank you so much. And it issuch an honor to have you on. I
know that you've been nominatedfor awards for your music, and

(01:37):
that, like you're getting some, you know, some recognition for
your your music and where youknow, all the work you've been
doing. I know I've been sharingyour music with our listeners.
And I have been listening offair to your music for my own
meditation purposes. And I justI can't get enough of it. I

(01:58):
really just cant.

Chakuna Machi Asa (01:59):
I'm so excited about my newest album or
our own magic. And I know that'sthe one that you've been playing
more on the podcast right now.
You said the Wind. Yeah,

Rainbow Raaja (02:10):
that's our intro that

Chakuna Machi Asa (02:13):
which is, you know, one of my favorite songs,
one of the things that I do is Istand outside, you know, for
meditation, and I let the windkind of blow through my body in
my energy. That's kind of theinspiration behind that song.
It's kind of like, when I dothis meditation, I kind of stand

(02:35):
on the earth and really groundmyself and just open my, my
energy up to the earth innature, in listen to all the
sounds around me. And I can feelthe energy of the wind just
flowing through my body almostlike it's not going around me.

(02:56):
Like I start to feel like it'sjust blowing right straight
through. And it just exactly howyour life. Yeah, it just carries
away, like any tension that Ihave, you know, in my body, and
I kind of feel like, that'salways been something I've
practiced regularly since Ifirst, you know, started getting

(03:16):
into this, you know, doingspiritual work in my late teens.
You know, I just intuitional Leewas guided to kind of, to do
that and to connect in that way.
And so that's kind of theinspiration behind that song The
wind is, is that meditation thatI do?

Rainbow Raaja (03:36):
That sounds amazing. I know, I spent a lot
of time in California, that'swhere I was born and raised. And
when those Santa Ana winds comethrough, I loved standing
outside, like everybody hatedhow messy your hair got, but I
loved it because I there'ssomething about the wind, I've
always been able to hearmessages on the wind, the trees

(03:57):
speak, when the wind rustlestheir leaves. You can really
kind of, you know, at least Ican hear their messages, I can
hear the news from other places.
And there's just so much wisdomin just listening and feeling
that wind to hear that that youuse the wind to clear your
energy and your body. Likethat's so therapeutic to hear

(04:20):
because I don't I don't hearpeople connecting to the earth
like that much anymore. There'sjust a lot of disconnect. So I'm
assuming that Earth has been youknow, just I guess the elements
even has been a huge inspirationfor your your music.

Chakuna Machi Asa (04:38):
Yeah, my whole album I definitely feel
like and you know, that's whatI've been trying to do you know,
on my Instagram and with thisnew moon box, you know, that I'm
that I just launched aroundValentine's Day is you know,
teaching people how to createcrystal grids, you know, in
connecting to the crystals andthe minerals into the earth and

(04:59):
that way, and then also makingEarth offerings is a huge part
of what I do for my spiritualpractice. Now and in, in its,
you know, making Earth Earthofferings is kind of in a lot of
different traditions. And sothat's kind of why I've I've

(05:20):
been drawn to it more againlately is because I just feel
like making offerings ingeneral. It's it's a huge part
of religion and spirituality andshamanic practices and the
ancient Native Americanpractices and you know, all the
different indigenous traditions.
They have a kind of a similarpractice and that way. And so

(05:44):
that's kind of what I've beentrying to teach other people.
And so in this moon box that Ihave, I have instructions on how
to do basic Earth offerings, notreally any particular spiritual
tradition, or any religionbased, it's kind of just taking

(06:07):
everything that I've learnedover time, which, you know, I
have I minored in religion atMichigan State. And so, you
know, I kind of weave in thedifferent things that I've
learned. And also in thespiritual tradition, the Paco
Kuno tradition that I learnedwith Peruvian shamanism, I take

(06:28):
kind of a little bit ofeverything, even Reiki, I'll
sometimes do like some Reikienergy in my earth offerings and
stuff. So I, you know, I'd liketo, at this point in time, I'm
just trying to give thatinformation to other people, so
it can benefit them.

Rainbow Raaja (06:48):
I really appreciate that. I know, a lot
of people are trying to moveaway from offerings, because it,
you know, there, there's been alot of, you know, difficulty,
especially when we have like, all the human offerings, and all
the animal offerings are incertain belief systems for a

(07:10):
long time. And when people hearofferings, it can be a little
standoffish, but I know when Ido offerings, you know, I'm not
the best at making food. Becausethat's, that's a common one is
either like salt, or sugar orrice. I'm just not the best at
preparing food. And I'm like, Ihave kids, I don't want to waste

(07:31):
food. So for me, I go out, I'mlike, I got bears in my
backyard. I don't want to feedthe bears. Oh, definitely. I've
told spirit, I've told my, myguides, I will create art and I
will sing and that is myoffering to you, I will
literally go out and just danceand sing just for you guys. And
that's my, my form of offering Ifound that that's most

(07:54):
beneficial for connecting withmy guides.

Chakuna Machi Asa (07:58):
Yeah, there's, you know, there's a lot
of different categories ofenergies that you're feeding,
you know, when you go to make anoffering. And, and one of them
is, you know, and that issomething I include in the
instructions and my moon boxes, one of them is the, the song and
the chant. And even if you havenothing to offer, one of my
spiritual teachers taught me,you know, you can leave a piece

(08:21):
your hair, you know, it's yourDNA or something like your nail
or, like you said, the chants, obviously like something that is
just birthed in that moment.

Rainbow Raaja (08:33):
Finding a special rock. That's Yes, that's
gone. But it has to be somethingspecial that stands out at you
and you have to put you justhold it in your hands. You just
add energy in it. You

Chakuna Machi Asa (08:45):
did a prayer sim.

Rainbow Raaja (08:47):
Yeah, yeah. I mean, prayer, I sang a fire to

Chakuna Machi Asa (08:50):
Yeah, sacred ceremony, fire ceremony. That's
a great way to do offerings.
Yeah.

Rainbow Raaja (08:59):
That's great. I'm so glad that you're, you're
assembling these, I guess theselittle boxes to teach people
about the different ways toinvite spirit into their life to
connect with spirit to connectwith their, their guides, and
and then also, that's a, I guessit's for me, I see that as, like

(09:22):
mostly a pagan practice or more, more of like a, you know, like,
Norse, Celtic-y practice, butyou're right, it is very much in
a lot of different beliefsystems all around the world. I
think that's great that you're,you're sharing that are you
including, you know, history aredifferent, different information

(09:45):
on these practices in the boxes.

Chakuna Machi Asa (09:49):
And not exactly, but I do like I said,
I'm doing the, you know, information on how to make the
crystal grids and, you know, also one of the things that's
included In the boxes that Idonate money from the proceeds
to plant 10 trees for each box.
So it's almost like you're alsoactually connecting your energy

(10:11):
by purchasing a box, you know,to the actual earth by birthing
these new trees, you're, you'rehelping that. So it's like
you're connected to these treeswhen they're being planted. So
you're actually rootingyourself, you know,
energetically at that point.

(10:32):
Yeah, I love that I love excitedabout.

Rainbow Raaja (10:36):
So, um, back to your music back to your passion.
Yeah. I, you know, you you weregenerous enough to share your
albums with me. So I could gothrough and listen. And, like,
you have a lot of chanting, youhave a lot of chanting in your
albums. Chanting seems to bevery much a baseline for for the

(11:00):
rest of the music that you'recreating. How did you I guess
how did you come into contactwith chanting? How did that
become a, you know, thefoundation of your music.
Because you have some lyricshere and there. But really, it
very much is just the, themonotone tones and chanting it's

(11:24):
so relaxing. So relaxing.

Chakuna Machi Asa (11:27):
Yeah. So when I was in middle school was my
first kind of experience with myvoice. And, and my ability to
sing. You know, it was kind oflike a snap of the fingers
change in how I felt inside mybody. Um, I feel like it was
definitely a spiritualexperience. I was having a lot

(11:50):
of trouble in school, at thatpoint in time, not with grades
and such. But like with my, youknow, friends, like, it's, you
know, it's a difficult age, Iwas being teased, you know, and
I had, you know, I have hadother traumas in my past with
sexual assault and abuse. Andso, you know, I think that I was

(12:12):
in a lot of pain at this pointin my life, basically. And I was
in choir class, and we're seeingthe Christmas song. And, you
know, I just had this all of asudden feeling like, God was
with me, you know, like, it was,it was this feeling like, I

(12:36):
didn't even know I could sing.
And then all of a sudden, I allof my pain started melting away
during the song while I wassinging. And I just felt better,
like, soothed by my, my ownsinging, you know, and, and so
that was kind of this, this snapof a finger shift inside me. And
I, at that point, I feel like Iknew, on some level that this

(13:00):
was going to be part of my life, you know, that, that singing and
music, everything to do withthat, and was going to be how I
helped other people, you know,in the future. And so, and then,
later in my life, I got intostudying shamanic healing and

(13:21):
Reiki healing and I, you know, became part of a tradition, a
shamanic Peruvian tradition thatwove my energy in and, and so I
had a lot of time where I wasmeditating. And in the spiritual

(13:41):
circles, I just sort of all of asudden, that came back to me
that kind of feeling were like, this, now is the time to like,
move my energy forward in a newway. You know, and so I just
started singing at these, youknow, spiritual circles and and
I think I really got into how Ican use that moment in early in

(14:06):
my life and how I can use thatto help other people now, you
know, at that point in time, that was what I was thinking is
like, this is what it's going tobe you know, it's going to be a
spiritual process because that'swhat it was for me when it came
to me in the first place. Whenthe gift of music you know,

(14:28):
entered my life, it wasspiritual for me. And so that's
what I always kept inside mymind. This is what I'm gonna do.
This is what I'm gonna put forthinto my music and so any of my
CD albums that I do, I justopened myself up, and I I asked
to be guided for what's going tobe healing for the listeners.

(14:50):
You know, even to get like thekind of focus for my my album
before I start doing it. Thathelps me get focused on what it
is that people need, you knowwhat, what it is that's going to
help them. And so you know, that's yeah, so that's basic
really

Rainbow Raaja (15:10):
all of our process ever really similar
process when I work withclients? No, I, I do intuitive
song for like the whole sessionpractically. And, you know, I
open up at the beginning I callin their guides, like calling my
guides, working in sacred spaceand whatever comes up, and

(15:30):
sometimes I'm doing it I'm like,This sounds so ridiculous. But
the person will point thoseridiculous parts out in there.
Like that part was the part thatreally hit me the most. Yeah.
I'm like, really like, Oh, hey, man, they know that.

Chakuna Machi Asa (15:48):
And that's something I learned, like when I
was doing when I first starteddoing the shamanic chanting and,
and the chance in general isthat and, and within now that
I've learned that within mylineage, even, I feel like that
is something that has been donefor 1000s and 1000s of years,

(16:08):
where the present moment is oneof the most powerful healing
sources that we have, you know, and that's what I tried to bring
forth in my music, you know, with, especially with my chance,
because there's something aboutbirthing something in the moment
that you're with some someonethat is really powerful, because

(16:32):
it's like, if you're in thepresent moment in that in that
space, and you're harnessingthat energy for them, it like
activates them on that samelevel, if that makes sense.
That's what I feel like I'vecome to with that. So

Rainbow Raaja (16:50):
yeah, I know listening to your music, it
takes me away. I could be awake,I could be doing whatever I'm
doing. But there's justsomething about your music that
takes me to that rock next tothe stream or whatever, you
know, like, in in the wind one,I literally feel like I'm

(17:16):
floating. You know, likeswirling through space. And I
found your music to be sohelpful going to bed, I use it
for meditation. And as I toldyou before the show, when I
have, I have certain times thatI do like ritualistic baths
where I just like, make aspecial little potion in my

(17:39):
bath. I'm like, Okay, we'regonna clear some energy out of
my life right now. And I waslistening to your chakra CD. And
it's so easy just to like zoneout into it. But I found myself
because I do so much singingmyself, I found myself toning
with you. And I, I was releasingso much energy in my body, just

(18:05):
collaborating, just doing that, like surmised, chanting with
you. That's awesome. And Ireally encourage the listeners
to go out and find that album,or, you know, maybe in the
future, I'll put that album onon the thing, and collaborate
with it so you guys can hear it.
But like that was so so helpfulfor me just singing alongside

(18:27):
you, and being with you in eachchakra because I could literally
as I'm chatting with you, Icould feel that chakra being
activated. And I was gettingmemories and I was getting
visuals and I was feeling wavesand waves of just things to
shedding off of me. And it waslike I was in there for over an

(18:51):
hour my partner's like Knockknock, are you okay? Let me go
on in there. Why are you sayingit?

Chakuna Machi Asa (19:01):
But I love that that's awesome. I do. You
know, I encourage everybody, youknow, not everybody likes to
chat on their own. And that'scool, because I still think you
can get something really amazingfrom just listening. But it does
take it to another level whenyou can, you know, bring the
sound from down inside you andjust it vibrates, like every

(19:25):
part of your being, you know, and so like i i really encourage
everybody to try to just do anintuitive thing. You don't have
to do it loud. You don't have todo it. Like on the same note as
me, you know, like, just kind oflike pick the note that you feel
is good. Like, and that's theuniverse, you know, moving

(19:47):
through you then you know,

Rainbow Raaja (19:50):
they like no guys listening. I'm sure you guys
have known that earlier thismonth. I did some chanting.
We're going to you know, just goahead, John. Join me in that go
back to that up so and just tryand match it just tried magic.
And I that's all I did withyours. I started to match it.
And then once I got comfortablematching, just doing the same

(20:12):
tone, it doesn't have to beperfect. You guys don't have to
match the breath. No, I wasn'tmatching her breath in any way.
Sometimes she was starting and Iwas finishing. Right? Yeah. So
it's, you know, just, it reallyis just allowing your body to
become this. Like a like ahollow? Like a healing portal?

(20:36):
Yeah, like a little just ahollow off, you know, just Yeah,
object. Everything's just kindof vibrating. You can feel it
all the way down to your yourlegs and

Chakuna Machi Asa (20:47):
thing. Yeah, it's sort of like reprogramming
your DNA, even, you know, it'skind of just vibrating. The
essence of who you are,

Rainbow Raaja (20:57):
is getting so relaxed, that literally you're
just like, oh, you can feel iteverywhere. It's just great. So
great. If you guys haven't triedit, please do like chanting,
even chanting just like a mantraor activation affirmation like,
I am awesome

Chakuna Machi Asa (21:17):
yes. Yeah, it doesn't have to be, you know,
something super serious. Like, you can make it playful and fun.
And, you know, it's, I mean, that's what it's all about, you
know, it's about bringing yourenergy to a higher level, and
sometimes that is, in the play, you know? So in,

Rainbow Raaja (21:39):
in your music, you know, are you just
intuitively choosing these the,or, you know, just intuitively
being guided through thesechants, and these, these
different, I guess, thesedifferent phrases that you're
using? Or are these knownphrases that you you had
acquired through your, your ownresearch? And through your own

(22:03):
study?

Chakuna Machi Asa (22:05):
No, I just generally, do intuitive
chanting, and allow whatevervowels or or sounds to come
through I, I prefer that there'sa level to which, you know,
sometimes I hesitate to, youknow, I don't want you know, to

(22:26):
confuse people with is it? Is itassociated with a particular
religion? Or is it associatedwith a particular tradition? Or
if you all of a sudden chant, all of a sudden chanting ohm or,
or Allah? Or, you know, it? Doesthat mean that, you know, I'm

(22:48):
associated with that I'm not,you know, what I mean, I'm just
allowing things to come through.
And I am in full trust, thatwhatever comes through, if I've
set my intention for that, to behealing for the listener, that
is what is intended, and that iswhat, you know, will manifest
for the listener. You know, I,you

Rainbow Raaja (23:13):
know, I know that there's some people, especially
in really strict spiritualpractices that the genuinely
believe that chanting, the themantras, chanting, the specific
chants is the only way to goabout any kind of chanting
practice. Now I've done bothI've done the mantras and the

(23:34):
phrases and, you know, even gonethrough the chakras, which I'm
sure you guys have already heardme do. But, you know, I have
found that intuitive chantingallows you to reach areas in
your body you didn't know sound.
And I have found, I mean, I havea guide, or at some point, when

(23:56):
I'm at a deep enough state, Ihave this throat singing that
comes through that is deep, sodeep, that when people hear they
don't think it's me doing it,they think it's rude. And it's
me, I just drop like, in mybody, how deep I am in the earth
and I can feel, you know, I liketo believe it's a guide or an

(24:22):
ancestor coming in I like andfeel him in my body. And I know
what he's doing. I can feel likethe purpose of what he's doing.
And I want to be able to do thatand the cool angelic singing
that I'm capable of doing if Iwasn't just feeling it and
allowing it to happen and movethrough me like a river.

Chakuna Machi Asa (24:45):
Absolutely.
Yes. I definitely feel like likeyou said there. There is a time
and a place for and I totally, you know, support people that
are mantra specific, you know, with their channel You know, in
different traditions, I feellike that what works for one
person isn't going to alwayswork for someone else. And so

(25:08):
John, we have to honor andrespect that, you know, in every
everybody has a differentroutine that has been in for
them. Right and so but yes, theintuitive chanting, you know
that if you don't have aparticular already a particular
mantra or something that isdefinitely a very powerful,
powerful way to, to, you know, start to learn how to chant.

Rainbow Raaja (25:35):
I know when I first started chanting, I
started with the chakras Istarted with, you know, the Kuan
Yin chant, you know, Omani PATAMayom. And I think there's
ganache I have ganache as chant.
So I memorized a handful ofthese, these Indian chants, and
a couple of the chakra chantsand right, um, and I would chant

(26:00):
them. I used to have a two hourcommute in my car every day, and
I would chant them two hours towork two hours home. And I think
it really did help vocallytrained my body in holding
breath and breathing properly.
So if you're somebody whostruggles to hold a note for a

(26:20):
long span of time you find yourvoice cracking, just practicing
those super simple LAM VAM RAM.
Li You know, and just movingthrough your chakras clearing
things out?

Chakuna Machi Asa (26:34):
Yeah, I definitely think like just even
the vowel system in the Englishlanguage, you know, a i Oh, you
know, ooh, you know, that's, youknow, I spent a lot of my years
in choir and for warming up, butit's always, and for
strengthening your vocal. So youknow, you you come to the vows,
and, and so in my chance, I douse a lot of that, because I

(26:56):
definitely feel like it's someit's a really pure tone, you
know, and so you're, you'rebasically vibrating a really
pure energy, you know, on on aparticular note when you're
using a basic vowel. And sothat's what I tend to come back
to a lot of times in my ownchance. Yeah,

Rainbow Raaja (27:15):
yeah, I know, a lot of energy modalities that
utilize sound like in Reiki, youcan use the Reiki, you know,
things as dance themselves. Andwhen I was taught it, it was
taking off the harsh consonantsand just using the vows. And I

(27:35):
used the Reiki chants before, you know, that was actually the
energy that brought me into theintuitive chant was doing the
Reiki chants, just for myself, just sitting with a singing
bowl, and like, a V. And thensuddenly, I would go on a
tangent, it was after severaltimes practicing that, but it

(27:57):
was just opening up that energyand the circuit, it just, like,
started a whole new thing. Andit was just really interesting.
Feeling that transition in mybody and feeling how that opened
up. The possibility for more,

Chakuna Machi Asa (28:13):
yeah, definitely, as you open up to,
you know, the simple chants moreof the energy comes through,
like you know, as you get moreof in deep meditative state.

Rainbow Raaja (28:27):
So this is this question that I have for you is
more on like, I'm personallycurious about this. I noticed a
lot of your music has naturesounds like so much of your
music as like these incrediblenature sounds? That I know when
I go outside, I'm like, I'mgonna go get some nature sounds.

(28:49):
It just doesn't work. How areable to capture these likes?
They're, they're clear sounds.
They're so pure and clear. Youdon't hear car traffic in. You
don't hear children playing onthe playground? How are you able
to capture that music? I knowthat's not chanting related, but
like, right, I would love toknow how

Chakuna Machi Asa (29:12):
you do I try to use like a lot of, you know,
pure recordings. Some of thethings that I do, though, are
keyboard, you know, so like, Ihave the sounds on my keyboard,
that have a bunch of differentvoices. And so I'll record like
the voice of, you know, theringing or something, like

(29:35):
through the keyboard into themic. So I mean, it's just like,
it's all part of the artistry, you know, of recording an album
Newton was picking differentpieces and putting them all
together and making them intothis, this piece of art for
healing, you know, for thelistener.

Rainbow Raaja (29:54):
That's awesome.
That's awesome. Yeah, I knowthat one of my favorite parts
about, like the when and thoseYes. Especially on or auric
magic that Hello? Yeah, there'sa lot of nature sounds like
birds singing in the background, the sound of the river or the
stream and

Chakuna Machi Asa (30:19):
actually, you brought up the wind the wind
sound is actually my voice.

Rainbow Raaja (30:24):
Yeah, I, I just it's, it's just a really hits, I
get the chills down the back ofmy neck when when I'm listening
to I just I love that. But theyou know, like, I'm just like,
does she sit on a rock with arecorder? How is she getting
that these animal sounds sobeautiful. Your, your artistry

(30:51):
in creating? You know, it's it'sso quiet. And so, like, your
audio is so clean?

Chakuna Machi Asa (31:00):
Thank you.
Yeah, I try, you know, I don'thave Wi

Rainbow Raaja (31:04):
Fi setup, right?
I have a Lo Fi setup. If we'rebuilding, you know,

Chakuna Machi Asa (31:09):
you know what, I try to do my best to,
you know, I don't have you know,I'm hoping at some point, I'm
gonna have, you know, a highertech studio. But I actually just
use foam padding. And, you know,I kind of surround my mic so
that it keeps out other sounds.
I'll try to do it at quietpoints during the day to record

(31:30):
you know, and, and use goodmicrophone. You know, but yeah,
I just, I tried to just kind oflet flow what comes through and,
you know, keep the sound as pureas I can, you know,

Rainbow Raaja (31:50):
I have to say for somebody who just has foam
around a microphone. Your musicis, I'm not even trying to like,
boast about it's just thank you.
It's, I'm really amazed when Ilistened like how does she do
it? It's so quiet and calm. Andyet, like, the sound is so
wholesome. It's just somethinghere. Oh, I don't know how I can

(32:15):
have all of those things whenthey cross each other out. But I
promise you guys go listen toher music. I will have some of
this podcast for you. I'm sure.
Go listen to the other episodes, her music has been at the
beginning and end of everyepisode this season. Yeah, so

(32:36):
I'm just really glad that you'reable to join us today and talk
about your process and whatchanting has been, you know,
beneficial for you. In your own, like practice your own private
practice, do you find yourselfusing chanting? Like for any
particular reason?

Chakuna Machi Asa (32:57):
Um, you know, through the years that I have
been doing sound healing withpeople directly or in circles, I
definitely find that it bringsabout an energy of authenticity.
You know, when I use the presentmoment to intertwine that with

(33:23):
the power of the vibration ofthe sounds, it you know, people
have told me that, it, it makesthem feel like a veil has been
lifted from them. You know, andso I've used the, you know, I'm
certified in Reiki drumming. Andso I use a really low beat drum,

(33:46):
like a heartbeat. And reallyslow, rhythmic, you know, over
the person's body, or, you know,in the room, I'll go around the
room and, you know, do the drumbeat over people's heads, you
know, so that the vibrations canreally get into their energy
fields. I think I answered yourquestion.

Rainbow Raaja (34:09):
Yeah. Yeah. So it sounds like you're, you know,
besides using it for otherpeople, you're also kind of
using it for yourself andholding that space for yourself
to absolutely, like sit in thatvibration. Yeah, you're a little
modest about how you're how howyou're, you're utilizing it for
yourself, but it sounds like oh,yeah, you had a lot of benefit

(34:30):
out of it. Oh,

Chakuna Machi Asa (34:31):
definitely.
Yeah, I mean, I use it in mypersonal meditation, just to
really ground and center my myown energy and connect with the
earth. You know, I do the chantsregularly. Sometimes I even
listened to my own CD albums, you know, so that

Rainbow Raaja (34:50):
no shame in that I listened to the album

Chakuna Machi Asa (34:54):
helps ground my energy, you know, like I'll
listen to the chakra roll andjust go through each chakra and
every single time that I findthat I listened to it, that it's
different, like, you know, allof a sudden a new layer will be
like, unveiled, you know, solike, this is healing for me,

(35:14):
you know, like to, to even dolike create the music like
sometimes, like I know on mymunei album, I'm in the middle
of creating one of the songs andI'm I just feel it so much. I'm
like

Rainbow Raaja (35:27):
crying love that album, I

Chakuna Machi Asa (35:29):
Oh, well, I am loving
my album. Oh, good. It's like, alot more like fairy like, right,
there's a lot more,I've got a lot of drumming and,
and some really pure tone chanceto get into the person's energy
and activate them, you know, like on a, on a more ancient
level, you know, I bring forthyou know, even with my Aurora

(35:52):
magic, my new CD album, I'malways trying to tap into like,
this ancient energy, you know,my ancestral energy and the
helper guides that, you know, are in my DNA lineage, you know,
and bring that forth. And soit's it's healing, you know,

(36:13):
just creating the music for thelistener. Absolutely.

Rainbow Raaja (36:20):
Yeah. I feel that when I'm listening to it, I
really do. I'm really glad tohear that you listen to your own
music because like, I I'll makerecordings for clients, because
you know, people come to me, Ido the live session, I do the
healing for them. And then Ihave to listen back to see if
there's anything I have to editout. Right, right. I'm listening
back. And I'm like, if itdoesn't sound like me at all,

(36:44):
pretty good. I can listen tothis, right. I'm like, I'm like,
Man, that sounds so arrogant. Iwonder if anybody else feels
this way. I know, Johnny doesn'tlike to watch himself in his own
movie.

Chakuna Machi Asa (36:55):
I've heard that some people don't like to,
you know, even rewatch theirinterviews. They never like
rewatch like some actors andactresses. They never rewatch
the show they're on orsomething. But listen, I like to
be really engaged. When I'mdoing what I'm doing. And like,
I want to see it from bothsides. You know what I mean?

(37:16):
Like, like, it's if it'shealing, feeling healing from
the inside, like, I want to seeand feel like what it feels like
from the outside too, right. Imean,

Rainbow Raaja (37:26):
I know as as when I started my podcasting journey,
I had zero experience. I hadnever listened to a podcast in
my life. And I started on this,I was like, I'm just gonna do
this, because my guides told medo doing the podcast. And I had
to listen back. And that was thehardest part. The beginning was

(37:46):
listening back. I was like, Ihate I've always hated my voice
of this Deepy guy voice what iswrong? Oh, and so I grew into
it, though. I was like, I don'thave to watch my face. I you
know, I had an issue watching myface. Yeah. And listening to
myself. I was like, You knowwhat, this is actually kind of
relaxing. And wait a second. DidI just say that that was like,

(38:11):
really insightful.

Chakuna Machi Asa (38:13):
It gives you more confidence to keep putting
yourself fourth, because as youand I have talked about, you
know, when you've been throughtraumas in your life, and things
that, you know, just really makeyou feel like you're worthless,
you know, like, trauma doesthat, you know, people that

(38:36):
treat you saw a way that makesyou know, you feel like in that
moment, you did not matter atall. Yeah, like that stays with
you. And so, you know, goingback to the whole watching
yourself, like it's okay, Ithink it's okay. And it's good
for you to feel like you know, this, feel it from the outside,

(38:58):
because then you're reassuredyou know that, that this is
going to help somebody else. Youknow,

Rainbow Raaja (39:05):
I don't think I've told this story yet. But I
think it's important to share itbecause I haven't really, I
don't think I've covered it. Butwhen I was younger, I talked so
much. It was an impulsive, talking, talking where I talk
over everyone else, because Iintuitively thought I knew what

(39:25):
they were going to say. So youknow, just let's not waste any
time. Right? So I would justtalk I was nervous all the time.
I constantly talked and myparents were always telling me
to shut up that I talked toomuch that I had a motor mouth
and all my friends were thesame. They were like you're
always talking you just don'tshut up. And I was so self

(39:48):
conscious about it. I tried sohard. I tried to do days of
silence. I tried to do like, youknow, just biting my tongue. I
would bite through my tonguetrying to be quiet. I think now
it's probably ADHD. But at thetime, I thought there was
something super wrong with meand people, because I talked all
the time, I was annoying. And Iwas desperate and clingy. And

(40:11):
these were my nicknames.

Chakuna Machi Asa (40:13):
Like, nobody ever asked you why, right? I
mean, nobody ever helped you, like, understand what was
happening. Because I mean, I, I,I'm a talker, too. So I
completely relate. And I stilldo it. Like, I'll go to my
parents house. And I'll just belike, Oh, my gosh, I'm so sorry.
But I think I just talked for anentire hour, like what is

(40:34):
happening, but like, I thinkthat they're, you know, what,
especially like you said, youyou were younger. For me. For
me, when I talked a lot when Iwas younger, I was putting
pressure on myself to, to, like, have the answers to be the
person that, you know, was thesupporter to make up for awkward

(41:00):
energy in the room if, like, other people weren't talking,
like, I'm gonna, like jump inand make it more comfortable for
everybody, like, and talk orsomething. And maybe, you know,
for everybody, it's different.
And I know what you're saying isthat it was like maybe more of
an ADHD like an actual, youknow, brain chemistry

Rainbow Raaja (41:18):
infinitely trauma based, I would just in trauma.
Yeah, I would repeat the traumastories and people like this, it
had nothing to do with what wewere talking about. And I just
couldn't, I couldn't see it.
Right. So, you know, it took mea really long time to get to a
point in my life, where Istopped talking. As much I still

(41:40):
talk, obviously, I'm here doinga podcast, going into doing a
podcast where I had to embracethis flaw. This some this thing
that all the people I loved themost in my life. Literally
pointed out, you talk too much.

(42:01):
You're annoying. You need toquiet. I don't even want you to
talk anymore. Like my parentswould talk about sewing my mouth
shut sometimes. Like, like, Ihated that about myself. And
then to go into this and to talkwas so nerve racking. I was so
scared. I

Chakuna Machi Asa (42:19):
see. Yeah, that makes sense. That's where
you're now you're using it asyour power force. And yet you
had to overcome the feeling. Youknow? Yeah,

Rainbow Raaja (42:30):
that was so hard.
There I go again, talking aboutmy

Chakuna Machi Asa (42:35):
isn't that the thing though? Like don't,
don't you think it always seemsto come full circle, like, you
end up doing something that likeyou've like, I was terrified
when I was young, like, I wouldnever have done a podcast when I
was in my teenage years, or Iwas too concerned about. I was
afraid of what people are gonnathink of me, you know, or, like,

(42:59):
now, it's just like, you getolder and you're like, I don't
think yeah, like, yeah, youknow, you care. And you don't,
you don't I mean, it's like youlet go of the things that just
you've been through enough inyour life to know that there's
really important things and thenthere's some really not
important things like

Rainbow Raaja (43:18):
hey, why not?
Right?

Chakuna Machi Asa (43:20):
Like, it's just like, everything else goes
out the window. It's like, if Ican help somebody, listen, I'm
gonna put that first you know, like, and, you know, hopefully
Haters gonna hate. Oh,definitely. I get so much. I get
so much hate on my Instagram.
Like it's kind of dialed down,but I'm sure it'll it'll ramp
back up. But yeah, oh, yeah.

(43:42):
Like

Rainbow Raaja (43:43):
this somehow, you know, ugly.

Chakuna Machi Asa (43:47):
This is blah, blah, blah. Like, I'll get like,
yeah, the haters that are like,I wouldn't do this is so tacky.
And then like, Yeah, it's crazy.
The things I'll get like, andit's just because I have, you
know, my followers are off orwhatever compare, you know,
people get insecure and, and,you know, that's just the way it
is. I've seen like on like, theKardashians page. It's like

(44:09):
every other like comments, youknow, it's like people fighting.
I feel like, you know, whenthere's a particular energy or
vibe that's out there, like, yeah, there's gonna be a polar
thing going on. And I'm just

Rainbow Raaja (44:26):
gonna say this for everyone listening. If you
want to spread that kind oftoxicity, just know I will be
deleting your comment for my ownmental sanity. So don't be like
putting this out there. I haveno problem with boundaries, and
I have no problem deleting yourShi T. Your Stuff feels like an

(44:51):
attack on my show or me or myguests. You will be deleted.

Chakuna Machi Asa (44:58):
Absolutely.
Like, I've just I've a filter onmy Instagram where nothing even
gets through it probably anymorebecause it's always like, it
like automatically filters outthe negativity. I'm like, Yay, I
have an automatic filter.

Rainbow Raaja (45:13):
I'm good boundary. So important

Chakuna Machi Asa (45:16):
stone and well, yes, yes,

Rainbow Raaja (45:18):
absolutely nobody talks about this. But there are
so many influencers, andYouTubers who have self harmed
and hurt themselves and tried todie, because of cruel things
being said to them, because ofcriticisms. And I think we, as
people, as human beings, watching other human beings

(45:39):
living their lives, we areconscientious that those human
beings have oh my gosh,feelings.

Chakuna Machi Asa (45:46):
Yeah, it's like you're, you know, sometimes
with technology, it's like, youcan be so separate from, you
know, the situation that youalmost like, it's almost like
you don't think it's real orsomething. But like, it's all
real. You know, like,

Rainbow Raaja (46:00):
we're humans, and a lot of us put on a brave face.
Yeah, I mean, words, you know, sticks and stones, but also
words hurt. You can you canstick and you can say sticks,
and stones may break my bones, but his words do hurt. In fact,

(46:20):
emotional abuse is harder toheal from than physical abuse
that has been shown in domesticviolence studies. Yes, you know,
over the last 15-20 years, theyhave found that emotional abuse
is more damaging than evenphysical abuse at this point. So
we as a society need to bemindful. And yeah, you and I

(46:44):
were talking about before theshow, you know, people pushing,
you know, their politicalagendas on other people, like
whether you believe in maths oryou don't believe in maths,
let's all just let other peopledo what they're gonna do, and
you

Chakuna Machi Asa (46:58):
can absolutely protect yourself.
Respect is, is a huge thing. Youknow, I, and I, you know, I've
heard that growing up, I wasalways like, well, what is
respect? You know, what I mean?
Like, I, I lose the way you wantto be? Right? But it's, you
know, it's not even that it's a,it really is about having
boundaries, and saying, listen, here's where I start. And you

(47:22):
and, you know what I mean? Like, there is a clear boundary, like,
I know, in a lot of spiritualpractices, it's all about
oneness. You know, let's weaveour energy together. Thank you,
you know, we're certain thingsall mesh and so there is a time
and place for that. But in thisphysical world, yeah, there is a

(47:47):
beginning and there is an end,and we have to respect that, you
know, and that's, you know, notjust about life, like the circle
of life, because I feel like Ijust said, the circle of life,
but really the beginning of anend to someone else's energy.
And you're allowed to say no,like, even even energetically,

(48:08):
like you're allowed to say, Idon't really like what you're
doing. So, you know, like, it'snot for me, it's not in you
know, this is not going to beallowed in my space. I've had
different situations with, youknow, with the trauma in my
past, where I even have now beenable to develop an energetic,

(48:28):
like bound, like where I feel Ican feel when I'm hitting when
they're hitting it. Do you knowwhat I'm saying? Like you did
it? I hit my energy in anawkward way. Like, yeah, no,

Rainbow Raaja (48:46):
one in the 30 seconds. I teach. I got it at
the beginning of my podcast, andlike season one, episode three
or something. Yeah. I talkedabout boundaries, and how to
create a shield and energeticshield awesome. Um, but more
than that, and I, you know, maybe I need to revisit this
because this really is soimportant. No matter where you

(49:09):
are on your spiritual path. Ifyou don't have grounding, you
don't have centering, and youdon't have boundaries, and
you've got nothing. You have nospiritual practice, you can't

Chakuna Machi Asa (49:20):
really harness the energy. Unless you
have a clear beginning point andpoint to your own field. You
cannot harness any of thespiritual power that you need to
hold in your own space if youcan't. And honestly it's
learning how to say no, yep,it's a mental learning how to

(49:41):
say no to situations, even ifit's your family, or your
friends, like it's about. Do notlet yourself be guided by
obligation. That's one of theways you can strengthen your
energy, you know, is I'm goingto say no to this because it
makes feel uncomfortable, I amdrained. I am tired, I need to

(50:04):
regather my own self. I cannotget in that pain of other people
environment, right? Like you.
It's right. It's not yourresponsibility to make somebody
else happy just by showing up.
If you're drained and you're toodrained to be in that particular
situation, you need to take timefor yourself like that is a way

(50:25):
to build your energy is so allowyourself to be able to guard
absolutely your own energy.

Rainbow Raaja (50:34):
Absolutely. And I'm 100% with you on that. I
know that I thought I had aspiritual practice. Like, early
on in my journey. I was like, yeah, look at me, I got an
altar, like, here, and I'm doingmeditation. But really, I
noticed my journey didn't evenstart until I learned how to

(50:54):
ground lead routing was thefirst thing it cleared my mind.
There were no no mind chatter,no thoughts. No talkie talkie
crap in my head. Yeah, I didn'teven know that was possible. I
was all these voices. This wasnot normal. And the my teacher

(51:14):
who taught me how to ground shewas like, No, you should not
have you should be quiet. Yeah, you

Chakuna Machi Asa (51:20):
should not have two voices telling you more
50 Yes or No? Or yeah, they'relike, I know, like, No, I was a
kid growing up. I was alwayslike, Should I do this? Yes. Or
no? Like, it was always thisblack and white thing. Like,
and, and they were always atbattle. Like it. I couldn't I
never

Rainbow Raaja (51:40):
had I had an entire I got grounded. I had an
orchestra voices. Right. And Iwould just pick out little
things every so often. I had noidea what was going on. I just
thought everybody's head waslike that. And then I did what I
learned to ground. It was Itwent from like, right, to being

Chakuna Machi Asa (52:00):
right. And part of that is learning about
how there's not a right way anda wrong way. Like it's not just
one or the other. It's not justwhat one person says that is
close to you versus your ownfeelings. It's not, you know,
it's it's about the fact thatthere's infinite possibility of

(52:24):
ways that you can go aboutsomething, find the way that
works for you.

Rainbow Raaja (52:28):
Right, it's different.

Chakuna Machi Asa (52:30):
Yeah, like, you can't just watch social
media or the news or, and thenthink I'm going to do it that
way. Because that way wassuccessful for that person. That
is not the way to do it. And

Rainbow Raaja (52:44):
I actually you talk about that in the podcast.
So silly tricks, I'm gonna throwon the same page, then. I'm
going to give the you know, Iwas like, I'm gonna give you
guys three different groundingpractices, three different
shielding practices. Try theseout, take what works, leave what
doesn't. But if you have anytrouble, hit me up personally,

(53:07):
like, session with me. Becauseeverybody's different. I will
help you find what works foryou. Because that must

Chakuna Machi Asa (53:13):
be the energy I'm tapping into right now.

Rainbow Raaja (53:17):
For set, I know everyone's different because
what my teacher initially taughtme felt so hard. I felt like I
had to try. And then one day itclicked and you know, came
effortless. It just oh my gosh,I was making it so much harder
than it needed to be. I justabsolutely floor and breathe
into the floor. I didn't realizeit was that easy. And the

(53:40):
shield, like, it's it felt sostupid. When I started. I was
like, oh my god, I'm making thislike shield thing. Oh, it's
what's this really gonna do? Butas I did it daily, over several
months, I realized peoplestarted if I said, No, they
didn't push me. They didn't tryand force me. Like, this is so

(54:02):
bizarre. Everything was quiet. Ididn't have this mind chatter
anymore. My emotions were reallybalanced. I never had that
before. Awesome. My entirepersona changed in a matter of
months off as I added grounding.
Centering. Centering isliterally assimilating all your
energy into your core, makingsure you are all assimilated.

(54:24):
Yeah, center. And then theshield, creating that shield
around yourself. And doing thatevery day just for a handful of
months to create that physicalhabit that your body craves.
Yeah. And that I mean, that wasa life changing. event for me

(54:44):
was learning those practices anddoing absolutely. I think, I
think if you don't have that, you don't. You don't have
anything if you can'tdifferentiate your energy From
the next person if you can'trecreate your thoughts from the
people coming through, you don'tknow who you are, you don't know

(55:08):
what your mission is anythingcan influence you. That's
actually a being that walksthrough your bedroom at night,
he could literally be implantingthoughts, feelings, emotions
into your body, you would nevereven know.

Chakuna Machi Asa (55:24):
Well, especially people who are
empathic. You know, I still evenstruggle with I'm very empathic
and I'll still even strugglewith knowing Okay, is, am I
feeling sad right now? Becausesomebody near me is, or, or is
this mine? And so I have to getreally focused.

Rainbow Raaja (55:42):
I use Reiki in those moments. Awesome. Yeah,
yeah, that has helped too, because if I become Reiki, I can
hold my own space, especiallywhen you have somebody I know I
learned with Reiki, you knowthat we are all just vibrations,
and we're all kind of clamoringfor the loudest, right?

(56:03):
Absolutely. As you become Reiki, and you have somebody throwing a
fit right across the room, andthey're just doing a fit, and
you're just holding your Reikispace, and you're just intending
to be the strongest pillar inthe room. That person's going to
forget why they're throwing afit because you're just holding
that vibrational space, thatthey aren't going to be able to

(56:26):
rival it. It's not pushing yourenergy towards them. It's not
for them. It's holding No,you're just around,

Chakuna Machi Asa (56:34):
right? Yep.
And not having attachmentsometimes, you know, I mean,
being attached but not beingattached. You got to know when
to do what you know,

Rainbow Raaja (56:43):
having compassion is absolutely Brutal compassion,
because it's like I havecompassion for you over there.
But I need to protect my ownenergy. My own roots. My own.
Yeah. Know how I feel. Speakingof grounding, did you want to go
ahead and collaborate a nicegrounding? Yeah. And chant for

(57:07):
the listeners?

Chakuna Machi Asa (57:08):
Absolutely.
So. Absolutely. Yeah. Did youwant me to go ahead and start
and yeah, yeah. Okay. So goahead and everybody, close your
eyes. And then just start tofeel your body, your physical
body. And if you can, if you youknow, are in a warmer climate or

(57:28):
if the weather's nice, gooutside right now, even if you
can listen while you're, you'reoutside, lay on the earth or sit
on the earth near a tree. And Iwant you to just feel, take
three deep breaths first andjust really get centered and,

(57:50):
and relax your energy and startto feel really connected to
your, your physical body. Feelyou're sitting at your physical
body, against the earth, againstthe chair that you're seated in,

(58:16):
or against the ground thatyou're laying on. I want you to
just try to feel every cell inyour body it's every breath that
you take you're feeling heavierand heavier, you're let the
energy of the gravity of theearth pole you in closer to her

(58:38):
feeling the pole and thepulsation of the Earth's energy.
Filling your body wrapping theearth, around every cell in your

(59:05):
body, the energy of the healingvibrations that the Earth has to
offer you. So strength, astrong, pulsating energy.
Feeling every part of your bodyjust getting heavier and heavier

(59:27):
and heavier. The force of theearth pulling feel that force of
the earth pulling.
Try to feel the left side andthe right side of your body

equaling outequaling out and bouncing with
each other You can do this byfeeling focusing in on a point
on your left shoulder and yourright shoulder

(01:00:18):
feeling those two points, balancing with each other, and
also feeling the pull of theEarth at the same time. Those
three points the center of theEarth, pulling you closer to her
body, making every cell in yourbody heavier and heavier and

heavier and heavier. While youalso focus on these two points
on the right side and the leftside of your body, balancing,
balancing your energy. And nowfocusing on two more points on

Letting any energy that nolonger serves you melt away and
feed the earth. If you have painin your body, tension, feeling

your body. And you're feeding onthe energy of the Earth's body.
It's a cyclical relationshipbalancing you out. Still having

some awareness of those pointson your shoulder, the left and
the right side of the body andthe hip bones, the left and the
right side of the body, kind ofjust bringing everything into
balance. And you don't have tocompletely have an awareness
event that this is happening orthat you are able to completely
focus your mind. You just haveto mainly feel your connection

(01:04:01):
with the earth, the base of yourspine and every cell in your
body. Deep Blue you re routed tothis gravitational pull feeling
