Speaker 1 (00:28):
The Hello, hello,
hello and welcome to Rainbows
Rising, where we ascend together.
I'm your host, rainbow Raja.
(00:50):
I'm a shamanic bodyworktherapist and life coach and I
welcome you to the show.
I welcome you to the channel.
Thank you so much for tuning inand checking out the different
skills you can learn to help youconnect with the element of
earth and bring about moreabundance, more joy and more
(01:17):
connectivity through yourendeavors and the relationships
that you foster in your life.
This whole month, we're goingto be talking about the earth
element and the differentshamanic practices globally that
(01:38):
incorporate the earth element, and I'm going to be teaching you
today how you can start tobegin with the earth element.
And I'm going to be teachingyou today how you can start to
begin with the earth element.
We've talked about the earthelement being this grounding
force.
It is the foundation of allfive elements.
(02:01):
Without the earth element, youcannot bring things from the
spirit plane, from your airplane, your mental plane from
(02:24):
cannot bring things intomanifestation.
So, being able to create astrong foundation in the earth
plane with the earth element, being able to connect with your
body, that's your physicalsensations, that's your physical
(02:49):
actions.
So some easy ways to start towork gently with the earth
element would be doing movement.
That's different Dancing youcan do, yoga, pilates, just
intuitive stretching, which canbe a somatic experience if you
(03:15):
are breathing deeply into thosestretches, into those releases,
and you're just listening towhat your body needs.
And you're just listening towhat your body needs and you're
finding the edge of that stretchand you're asking your body and
(03:53):
doing mindful stretching, listening to what needs to be
stretched, because you'll feelthe achiness, you'll feel that
soreness, breathing into yourbody in that way, but bringing
motion into it.
That is what brings the mostearth element into your space.
(04:18):
And these are just really basicways to start incorporating the
earth element into yourday-to-day ways to start
incorporating the earth elementinto your day-to-day Physical
activities force us to groundinto our body.
Massage is a good way toconnect with the earth element
because someone is palpatingyour physical body and attention
(04:43):
To areas of tension, to areasthat need More nurturing, areas
that might be, might not beflowing well, and when you're
able to bring attention to it,you're also able to do Some
movement To loosen up thoseareas, the earth element.
(05:10):
When you do start to work withyour body, when you do start to
incorporate the earth elementinto your life through the
practices we're going to coverin today's episode, you will
start to see more abundance, asin the things that you want to
see more of in your life, whether that's money, whether
(05:33):
that's friendships, experiences,maybe.
Like abundance isn't material100% of the time.
Sometimes you can have anabundance of certain experiences
or emotions or people that youreally enjoy being around.
(05:54):
When I think of it as an excessof things that bring joy to my
life, bring value to my life, Ibelieve that the earth element
(06:18):
also helps us with anchoring inour dreams, anchoring in our
desires, anchoring in ourdesires, anchoring in the person
we wish to be, giving usstability not just in our life,
like financially speaking, butalso emotionally.
(06:41):
Bringing us stability on aspiritual level.
Bringing us stability likementally too, with that clarity
and peace of mind, being able tofocus on a task without
(07:04):
distractions, without deterrence, being able to complete it in a
timely manner, without feelingrushed, and really being able to
enjoy the present moment of itof it.
(07:33):
The earth element allows us tofeel the interwoven connectivity
of all beings that surround us,and our society has really lost
that connection because we nowhave cell phones in our pockets.
We have smartphones, likeconstantly in our face.
We've got smart watches, wi-fi,which is in the air.
(07:58):
You know, it's not just youknow, not in the air that we
breathe, necessarily, but thefrequencies, the signals that we
breathe necessarily, but thefrequencies, the signals that
they're putting out.
We are constantly bombarded bydigital interference and
distractions.
We aren't connecting to Earththe way our ancestors did.
(08:26):
We're not even connecting toearth the way the generation
before us did.
In my lifetime alone, thedrastic shift in the majority of
mankind's attention to theirsurroundings and to nature
(08:55):
versus how much time they'reinvesting in screens is
absolutely devastating.
Because when I was young, youcould not bring your television
with you in your pocket.
You couldn't just search upwhatever you wanted on the go.
(09:21):
Whatever you wanted on the go.
You couldn't call people if youwere out and about or in your
car.
You had to find a pay phone.
(09:53):
You had to go to a business andask if they had a pay phone.
But we had very few.
People had cell phones and theywere not anything like the
phones we have today.
They were purely for dialing aphone number and connecting with
someone.
They were not reliable andWi-Fi didn't become a thing.
Until the early 2000s we haddial-up that was all plugged
(10:17):
into the network, that was allall corded.
All of the signals wereconstricted in and contained and
circumvented through ourdevices.
They were not free range.
(10:38):
We have now free rangetechnology and the problem with
that is, if we are too involvedwith technology we lose the
connectivity of our neighborsnot just humans, but our
(11:03):
neighbors of the spirit andnature plane, the natural world.
I grew up with no siblings.
I grew up with two parents whoworked full-time jobs 40 to 60
hours a week and I played alonea lot.
(11:27):
And when you're a young childof the 90s, playing alone,
you're outside, climbing trees, talking to the birds in their
native tongue, you're havingentire conversations with the
(11:48):
neighbor's cats and dogs and youlearn how to connect with the
animals we share this world with.
I lived in a very smallcondominium complex.
There were maybe three or fourother kids in the entire
(12:08):
neighborhood and most of themonly came over to.
You know they had some divorcesituation.
They were only there on theweekends.
I was the only full-time kid inthe entire complex full-time
(12:30):
kid in the entire complex and itwas okay for me because I got
to go outside and I had somecrows that were my friends.
Be like hey guys, ah, ah.
And they'd be like ah, ah, ah,ah, ah.
I'd be like ah.
And we'd just talk.
Sometimes they'd talk to meabout some really cool, shiny
(12:52):
things they found at the parkand sometimes they would just
talk about how one of the othercrows was talking some shit
about another crow, and you knowthey're arguing.
So sometimes the conversationsaren't enriching.
(13:13):
It's a lot of gossip and dramasometimes in the animal kingdom,
but if you're going intocreating a relationship with
nature, the cool thing is isnature will always respond.
And if you set intentions andyou form these relationships
with the beings of the naturalworld, they become your allies
(13:38):
and your, and they can help youwith resources as well, more on
an energetic level than aphysical level.
But they can be very, veryhelpful in guidance because they
(14:00):
understand how the world works, kind of on the back end, in
behind the scenes, energetically, how how the rhythms of life
play out.
The animal kingdom and andnature flows.
(14:21):
It all follows this incrediblerhythm, this natural rhythm.
The animals pay close attentionto these rhythms and even
though humans have lost theirconnection to these rhythms, we
still haphazardly follow them, and when you create these bonds
(14:44):
with the animal kingdom, youcultivate these relationships.
The animals can help you becomemore in tune with those rhythms
and use them to your advantagewith intention.
So how can you start to havethese conversations without
looking like a crazy lady or manoutside in nature?
(15:08):
I encourage you to go be crazy.
We need more crazies in theworld because all the people we
all look up to, like Leonardo daVinci and Einstein, they were
all considered crazy in theirtime.
What's wrong with being crazyif it just means that you're
(15:33):
more in tune with differentinsights that maybe not
everybody has become so so awareof just yet?
Let the crazy out and we canstart being a little crazy with
connecting with nature.
So some ways that you can startto connect with nature Is go
(16:02):
out, pick a tree.
Don't just pick a random treethat's like the first tree you
see and you're like there's atree.
You could, if you want to, butI highly recommend that you go
for a walk.
On this walk you pick up itemson your path that are unique,
(16:30):
interesting, eye-catchingWhether it be a leaf or a rock
(16:53):
or a twig or a weird seed pod orsome interesting looking plant
branch, collect a little bag, very small you know Ziploc
freezer bag size of naturalmaterial.
Go on this walk, pardon me andas you go on this walk, you're
going to be picking up theseitems and you're going to be
(17:15):
thinking about what informationwould you like to learn from a
wise elder?
What information would you liketo learn from a wise elder?
What do you really needguidance in your life about?
(17:37):
Just contemplate it as you walk, when you find a tree that seems
to stand out among all theother trees maybe it's got a
couple of extra notches in itstrunk, maybe it's got some like
really like twisty, gnarlybranches and you're like, ooh,
(17:58):
this is a spooky tree.
I like the spooky tree.
Whatever it is about thisparticular tree, first, I want
you to go up and place your handon the bark of the tree, take a
nice deep breath and close youreyes and as you breathe out, I
(18:36):
want you to imagine expandingyour essence and just reaching
out to the tree with youressence, with your energy, just
gently reaching out with yourenergy, just gently reaching out
with your energy, like just tolet him know that you're there.
The tree doesn't have eyes.
This is your hello.
Once you've connected with thetree.
You've expanded yourself outand once again, we do that with
(19:03):
intention and we do that withour breath.
A good breathing pattern to dois that nice, deep breath in
through your nose and outthrough your skin, imagining
that you're breathing yourbreath out through your pores,
out through your skin, all overyou, through your skin, all over
(19:27):
you, through your mouth, andyou want to put a little tiny
bit of resistance as you arebreathing out.
For some reason that allows thebreath, this expansion, which
(19:48):
also triggers our energy field,to expand as well.
So you're breathing in and asyou breathe out, you're giving
just a little bit of resistancewith your tongue, by lifting
your tongue up, or you can do itwith your lips, just tightening
(20:13):
, tightening your lips to give alittle resistance as you
breathe out, and as you aredoing that, you'll start to feel
kind of a pressure as you moveout.
With that pressure, you aresaying hello to the tree.
(20:34):
You're letting the tree knowthat you are friendly, that your
intention is to connect withthe tree, to say hello, hello,
tree, I'm Rainbow.
Nice to meet you.
Oh, it is such a lovely day.
Thank you, tree, for asking.
Oh, sorry, that's the next step.
I want you to mentally, telepathically, think anything
(20:59):
at the tree A welcome, aquestion, just a joke, a comment
.
Be yourself, no formalitiesneeded.
Just be yourself and do alittle light talk like how's the
weather today, tree?
What's it feel like for you?
Seen any nice birds lately?
(21:21):
And instead of responding toyourself, just listen to the
sensations in your body, listento the first impressions and I
say impressions because thisdoesn't always come in as a
(21:42):
mental thing.
Like people, when they want totalk to animals or they want to
talk to their spirit guides orthey want to talk to any beings
outside of themselves, theythink they have to physically
hear it with their ears.
That is not the case.
There are so many differentways to receive the receptivity
(22:11):
of energy.
You can hear it in your mind'seye.
You can see images.
You can see colors.
You can get scenes in your mind, colors.
(22:31):
You can get scenes in your mind.
You can get feelings in yourbody.
You might feel pressure, youmight feel temperature, you
might feel emotions and youmight just get inner knowings.
You might not know specificallywhat the tree is saying.
You'll just get a knowing ofthe concept, of its response.
(22:54):
You might just get a knowing ofhow the tree would like to
communicate with you.
Tree would like to communicatewith you and as you're having
these exchanges with the tree, Iwant you to always ask, through
(23:23):
your heart space, and if it'sbeen a long time since you've
communicated with your heart, since you've communicated
through your heart space, through the energy of your heart
space, I want you to, beforeyou do this tree practice,
practice in front of the mirrorwith communicating certain
statements to yourself, certainstatements to yourself.
(23:51):
First, you say it just with yourmouth I like sushi, I like
sushi, right.
Then you want to communicate itthrough your eyes and you want
to look into your eyes.
I and you want to try and getthe statement, the truth of the
statement, the feeling of thestatement through your eyes, so
(24:15):
you are able to actually lookinto your own eyes and see the
emotion, the truth.
I like sushi, I like sushi, andI can see the light change in
my own eyes.
I can see the corners of myeyes move up in joy and
(24:37):
excitement about the sushi.
Then you're going to move on toyour heart and you're going to
(24:57):
speak from your heart.
You got to mean it.
I like sushi, I like sushi, andyou speak with the emotion and
the truth of your heart.
I'm only using I like sushi, because it was the first
(25:18):
statement I could come up with,so you can use that for anything
.
But start to notice thedifferences of speaking just
with your mouth versus speakingwith your eyes, which is more of
a projection method.
And then the last is speakingwith your heart, which is your
(25:40):
inner truth, and you can feelthe differences.
And if you do that practice andcheck the different feelings,
you do it with several differentstatements, several different
days you'll start to be able todiscern when you're speaking
(26:03):
just off the cuff or just withyour eyes or just with your
heart.
It'll help you be able todifferentiate when you're being
authentic versus when you'reputting on a show or when you're
not connected at all.
And those are the three stagesis connected projection and
(26:32):
completely emotionally, notconnected with what you're
saying.
You're just saying it becauseit's coming from your mind, out
of your mouth, right?
So now that you have connectedwith the tree, you brought your
energy into the tree.
You've thought a couple oflittle tester, intro,
(26:55):
conversational pieces.
You're like hey, tree, how areyou doing today?
How's the weather?
How's that bird doing up therehow's that bird doing up there?
And the tree.
If you pause and you openyourself up to receiving
feedback, and that feedback willcome in as different sensory
(27:18):
impressions.
You want to be open to thedifferent variety that you might
experience and everyone will bedifferent and when you first
start this, it will come inquiet.
If you trust the firstimpression, I swear it is always
(27:42):
correct.
But you have to show your body, you have to show the tree, you
have to show your own spiritteam.
You have to show your ownsubconscious that you are
willing to trust yourselfdespite not truly knowing if
(28:04):
what you're experiencing isreally happening or not.
And when it comes down to it,when you're first learning a
skill, you're not going toalways get it completely, 100%
accurate on the first try, second try, all the way up to
the 10th or 20th time.
(28:24):
But you will get a gist andthat gist is usually on point.
So it's not an exact science.
When you are first developingthese skills and I don't want
you to get discouraged if you'resitting there talking to the
tree and you're getting gettinglike very, very little feedback
(28:46):
and it's like you know you'relike hi tree, how are you?
And you wait and all you feelor hear is fine, just fine.
Well, tree, I'm glad you'redoing good.
I had some questions for you.
(29:07):
Can we talk today?
No, okay, sorry, sorry, Ibugged you On to the next tree,
right?
You just have to trust whatcomes up.
You don't second guess it.
If you're, if you're connectingwith the tree and you're like,
(29:28):
okay, and the tree is like, ohman, the city is so loud and I
just wish I was living in thecountry and, boy, when I was a
seed you, are you going to sitthere and question it?
Are you going to listen to itsstory?
You don't question if somebodywho's talking to you on the
(29:52):
street is real or not.
So let's try our best to trustwhat we're getting from the tree
.
And you know what's great aboutthis practice is, once you are
able to connect with a tree, thereason I use tree as the first
thing to connect with is becausetrees are very uh.
(30:16):
They have an entire network ofof communication between all the
different plants in the entireregion, and it goes on for miles
, and they're all communicatingthrough their root systems and
through the leaves and they are, they have multiple ways of
(30:39):
communicating, so they're aneasy first, first being to
connect with, and they have somuch wisdom and so much
information to share with us andthey can help attune your
energy and your consciousness tothat interconnectivity with
(31:05):
your environment, to thatinterconnectivity with your
environment.
So starting with a tree is areally good way to become
already interconnected with yourenvironment, with your
surroundings, so that you canthen branch out to starting to
communicate with the birds, starting to communicate with the
wolves, starting to communicatewith the birds, starting to
(31:27):
communicate with the wolves, starting to communicate with the
crickets, starting tocommunicate with the raccoons.
Whoever you happen to be seeingthe elk, you want to go howl
with the elk.
That's great.
Do that First connect with thetree.
(31:49):
So now that you've connectedwith the tree and you've had
some nice conversations, don'tforget to say thank you and
goodbye.
You've had some niceconversations.
You can start to move up thechain of command.
You can apply that skill tohaving conversations with rocks.
(32:17):
If somehow this podcast getslumped in with the possum lady,
I will feel great honor.
If you don't know who PossumLady is, go check her out on
YouTube and look up the PossumLady.
She's hilarious.
But the point is, you can startcommunicating with your rocks
(32:37):
the same way you would with atree.
The rocks, though, are lesstelepathic, and so trees have a
tendency of projecting theirenergy, whereas rocks emanate
energy.
So trees can really immerse youin the wisdom, in the
(33:02):
information, in visions, thewisdom and the information in
visions, whereas crystals androcks, they almost whisper
directly into your hands and youhave to decipher the feedback.
(33:24):
So you would hold the crystalin your hands and as you are
doing your breathing breathingin through your nose and then
breathing out, with that littlebit of resistance as well, as
you know, you're expanding your, your field.
(33:45):
Then there's a pause where youlisten with like your, your hand
(34:06):
, sensory, with your skin.
You listen with your skin andyou'll get feedback like little
tiny vibrations or pulses, andusually you breathe that up into
your body and you close youreyes and you allow your mind to
(34:27):
be open and you communicate withyour mind more than you do like
speaking out loud to it, butyou can't speak out loud if you
so desire.
Sometimes that's easier, butyou just want to almost bring
your breath and your awarenessinto the rock and become one
(34:48):
with the rock.
Whereas the tree kind ofreaches out to you, you have to
kind of bring yourself into therock and into the crystal, and
that one's a little slower of aprocess and it takes a little
bit more skill level to do that.
Another way to connect with therocks, because you can ask them
(35:09):
what their healing propertiesare.
You can ask them how can I useyou in my life?
What is the best way to utilizeyou?
How would you like to beincorporated into my life?
What ways do you like to beplayed with the most?
Whatever that case may be right, you want to make sure that you
(35:32):
are able to connect with themin that organic way, and the
easiest way to do that is withReiki.
That's where I was going withthat and I did teach Reiki One,
(35:52):
uh, several seasons ago.
So if you haven't seen that, gocheck it out.
Um, I will leave the specificepisode, uh, where I teach Reiki
One in the description, where Iteach Reiki One in the
description, and I encourage youto go check that out, because
(36:12):
Reiki is an energy modalitywhere you can heal yourself, but
it also gives you thecapability of using energy to
decipher the energy of theplants or the rocks or the
animals that you're working with, and it makes communicating
with them a lot easier.
(36:33):
But even if you don't know Reiki, you can still communicate with
your rocks just by listeningand and almost you kind of have
to insert yourself into therock's place and share the rock
(36:54):
space with it.
You kind of have to become onewith the rock and telepathically
communicate that way.
That sounds very strange.
Communicate that way?
That sounds very strange.
(37:14):
But if you sit with it and yougive yourself 10 minutes just to
gently palpate that conceptwith your mind and with your
sensory senses, I promise you'llstart to understand what I'm
talking about.
But you have to sit Sometimes.
(37:36):
You have to do it in order tofeel those sensations and
understand what I am referringto.
So once again, the breathingpattern is in through your nose,
out through your mouth, with alittle bit of resistance.
You should feel a pressureoutside of your body and an
expanse and as that's happening, you have to bring your
(38:00):
awareness and, almost like, zoominto the rock and be a part of
the rock in your hands.
Introduce yourself Hi, I'mRainbow.
It's good to see you.
Picture Jasper it's saying thatit's been a while since I've
(38:27):
talked to it.
I'm so sorry that it's been awhile since we've talked.
It says hello.
It realized that I waspresenting it.
It says hello to all of you.
I was presenting it.
(38:52):
It says hello to all of you.
Picture Jasper also wants tohelp by helping me remember that
Picture Jasper is a really goodcrystal for unlocking ancient
earth wisdom.
Thank you, crystal Jasper, foryour wonderful knowledge.
Crystal Jasper is one of theprimary earth healers.
(39:15):
They attune you to the earthfrequency and help you unlock
ancient earth wisdom and receiveknowledge from the earthly
plane.
And picture Jasper would liketo ask the viewers to pick up
(39:45):
some picture jasper.
I don't sell it, so this isliterally just picture jasper
recommending that when you goand sit with your tree, that you
bring some picture jasper andit will open up the channel a
lot easier.
I love, I love co-creating thisepisode with you.
Picture Jasper.
(40:06):
Thank you so much for joiningus today.
This is our featured guest, picture Jasper.
Yeah, you're very funny, so youcould see.
This is how I go aboutcommunicating with my crystals,
(40:29):
also the Thank you.
The shape of the crystal willalso affect how the energy is
relayed to you.
So picture Jasper is kind of aspiral obelisk, whereas this is
some honey calcite.
(40:50):
Honey calcite goes in alldirections, so it's not a
focused stream of energy.
Quickly, you know, and likeselenite, this is a desert rose,
(41:16):
and desert rose is a type ofselenite, and so if I were to
sit and communicate with theselenite desert rose, it
(41:38):
wouldn't be as loud necessarilyas this particular piece of
picture, jasper.
So that's how you connect withyour crystals.
And if you're someone who maybedoesn't like so much talking,
maybe you don't trust talking tonature as much, because you
(42:00):
grew up worried that thathearing voices in your head was
a bad idea I understand.
I relate.
I definitely don't like beingseen as crazy either.
So another skill that you canuse is crystal or stone
(42:21):
divination.
Now, this is a super simpleskill that even the kiddos can
try out there.
All you need to do is, whenyou're out and about taking a
walk, you pick up a rock, youask a question let's see how is
(42:43):
this podcast episode going sofar.
Let's look.
And then what you do is youturn the rock or the crystal
until you notice a structure oran outline or a shape that pulls
(43:06):
your attention towards it.
It can be on any side of therock.
You just start slowly turningit until you see something that
pulls your attention.
So for me I don't know if youguys can tell, but with this it
(43:27):
has a lot of dimension to it.
So this is like threedimensional.
I got it specifically forscrying.
You can get a normal quartz forscrying as well, but I highly
recommend trying.
Just when you're on a walk, pickup a random rock, any random
rock on your walk.
You ask a question, just aquestion about your day, about
(43:53):
your life, about you know.
Something super simple and easy.
Like you know, I asked aboutthe podcast and what I saw was I
(44:16):
saw like a little star person.
It was like a nice bright headwith these little points that
were coming out of the top.
I saw it as like a crown on ahead and then two arms out and
two legs out, with like streamsbehind, like down below their
(44:42):
legs.
And so I interpret that.
Because when I tap into thatsymbol in my own mind and I ask
what does this symbol mean to me, I see someone radiating,
shining their brightest, standing in their power.
So for me, that's where I'm at.
I'm doing my best to presentmyself in my most authentic
(45:03):
version and to not worry whatthe viewers think and just be as
as helpful as I possibly canand give you guys the best
content that I can possiblymuster.
Uh, so that's that's where I amcoming from.
So when you pick up your rock, you will twist it around.
(45:26):
You will look for somethingthat stands out.
Right now I don't know if I canthis weird little, that little
mark right there at the top, that's what stood out when I
look at it, I move it around, Itwist it around, I see a man on
(45:48):
a surfboard.
It's going swimmingly, theepisode's going well.
So you look for images in thesmudges, in the shapes, in the
indentations of the rock and youinterpret first thing off the
(46:11):
top of your head, right, firstimpressions Always go with those
first impressions.
You interpret what that symbolmeans to you.
You don't go look up the symbol.
You interpret it based on theemotion that you first get when
you see the symbol.
You contemplate what would thissymbol mean if I were to see it
(46:35):
in real life?
Like, for example, I just saw aguy on a surfboard right and
he's riding a big wave.
So maybe I'm riding a big waveright now and I have a really
big chance of totally crashingand burning, or I could totally
(46:57):
nail it and get a you know, ridethe wave and feel exhilarated
from riding the wave and bereally proud of my hard effort,
from riding the wave and bereally proud of my hard effort.
Even if I wipe out, I'm stillgoing to be proud of my hard
(47:17):
effort.
But what I did was I looked atthe symbolism of a surfer and
what that means in relation towhat I asked, and I interpreted
the metaphorical implicationbased on your psyche, because
really, when we're doingdivination, it is spirit, spirit
(47:41):
guides and your higher selfsending you images, digestible
images that you can decipher, togive you extra information
about, to become your own innersage.
And so that can be a really funtrick because you can do you
(48:15):
know rock divination with yourfriends or with your mother or
your father.
You can do it with your kids.
It can help you with meditationpractices, it can just kind of
help you wind down from achallenging argument with your
(48:36):
significant other.
It can be a really useful tooljust for quick insight, instead
of going to chat GPT it's notgoing to tell you a bunch of
accurate, factual informationabout things that that rock
won't know about but in regardsto life advice or to like, hey,
(48:59):
what you know, what did this.
My boss said this to me.
What did that mean?
Pick up rock.
Look at it.
Oh, my boss said this to me.
What did that mean?
Pick up rock, look at it.
Oh, my boss said this to me.
What did it mean?
Let's see A basket.
I see a basket.
(49:19):
Well, maybe he's just a basketcase.
Let me think.
What else could a basket mean?
Maybe he's carrying too much.
Maybe he's carrying too much.
Maybe I seemed scattered todayand he was trying to collect my
energy and get me focused on thetask at hand.
And it doesn't matter what yourinterpretation is, because it's
(49:47):
your life and you are honing askill.
So don't be too hard on yourselfwhen you are first starting out
interpreting these signs, thesesymbols.
You want to give yourself somegrace because over time this
will become a honed craft.
You'll be able to reallyunderstand the messages much
(50:14):
quicker.
The only reason I'm good at itis I've been doing it since I
was a kid.
So don't be discouraged at thebeginning.
You must have patience withyourself.
You must train diligently andhave faith in that first
impression.
So we covered tree wisdom.
(50:39):
We covered rock divination.
We covered how to communicatewith your rocks.
The thing is is once you learnhow to have dialogue with the
conscious universe, when you canreally start to speak out to
(51:02):
your environment and say hey, environment, give me a sign.
I'm really feeling confused,I'm feeling very lost.
You know, I'm really excitedabout this thing.
You know, give me encouragement, show me the way.
You know what do I do?
(51:22):
If you teach yourself that youare willing to trust in the
information that is coming in,the information is going to come
more frequently and theinformation will come more
(51:44):
clearly with repetition.
Okay.
So if you want to make your owncustom earth practice maybe you
want to make an earth altar, maybe you want to make an earth,
(52:04):
you know little sanctuary, sothat you can start to bring more
of that stability, some morefoundation, more
interconnectivity in your familyunit, more cohesive
collaboration.
With your work you can create alittle environment that is
(52:25):
going to attune your space andattune you to the earth element.
So this is how you can start tocreate your own custom earth
practice.
So earth is associated with thenorth, at least that's in my
Celtic belief or in my Native.
(52:47):
When I studied Native Americanpractices, it was the North for
me as well.
So if you are going to make analtar, or if you are going to
have a space or you're going tomeditate in space, the direction
(53:10):
of north for those beliefsystems, you can face north and
call in the north, call in thatnorth wind, and that can be a
good way to start that off.
Now, if you have a specificbelief system or culture that
(53:34):
you are currently practicing orthat you are interested in
practicing, you can always lookup what that culture, what
direction that culture referstheir earth element to.
Another thing is if you're likeI don't have any culture and
I'm just trying this stuff out,go outside, find a tree and just
(53:59):
face the tree, face themountain, face the mountain.
If you have a big rock in youryard, go sit in front of the big
old rock.
You got a garden.
Face the garden, make a littlefairy garden.
That's still working with theearth element.
The thing is, is you, when youare intentionally choosing a
(54:20):
spot, a direction, kind of anenvironment, that you are
setting yourself up for sacredwork?
You are opening up a portal?
You are beginning a type ofritual where you are showing
spirit, that you have reverencefor it.
(54:41):
When I say spirit, I mean ingeneral, whatever practice
you're doing, whatever elementyou're honoring, whatever deity
you're working with, whateverwhatever it is, by being
intentional with each and everystep, you are showing yourself
your higher self and whateverally spirits that you're working
(55:03):
with, you're showing them thatyou have reverence, that you are
being intentional, thateverything that you are doing is
not done half-assed.
You are actually devotingyourself to a specific action
with intention, and then thosespirits, or the element itself,
(55:30):
is going to be more responsive, because you are showing respect,
you are showing an interest incollaborating, you're showing an
interest in connecting withsuch focus.
So make sure that when you aresetting up the space in which
you're going to do your littleritual, your earth honoring
(55:56):
piece, that you are pickingsomewhere that feels sacred to
you.
Even if you have to make up thetable yourself, you have to get
out a compass and figure outwhich direction is north,
whether it's inside, whetherit's outside, whether it's
outside, whether you have to gofind the tree and you have to,
(56:17):
kind of, you know, put out a Idon't know plank under the tree
so that your stuff can sit therenice and comfy.
Take the time.
You don't need a lot of things, but picking the space is really
important, so take your timewith that.
(56:37):
Some things that you might wantto adorn your space with.
Every herb, every plant andevery rock, they all have
spiritual meaning and many timesthese spiritual meanings across
(57:02):
the cultures are very similar.
From time to time you mightfind something that has, you
know, a pretty, a prettydifferent usage from culture to
culture, but a lot of times, because the plant itself or the
crystal itself has a certainfrequency, people can sense that
(57:31):
, especially more intuitivebased medicine, like people are
going to be able to sense.
What does this rock do for me,and you can sense that about the
rock and you can sense thatabout the herb.
Sage is for clearing, it's forkind of lightening up the space.
(57:59):
It helps, uh, it helps usherout more dense energies.
It encourages spirits to umexit spaces.
Um, it is a very highvibrational plant and when you
(58:22):
use it it doesn't get rid of umextremely persistent beings that
are negative, beings that arenegative, but it does make it
very uncomfortable for thembecause it causes them some
physical pain or discomfort.
So that's why we use it.
(58:43):
Um, some other things you canuse Percussion instruments,
drums, rattles.
Percussion instruments are verygrounded, they're very solid.
(59:03):
They are usually associatedwith the earth element, the tone
C, c tone and the tone C C tone.
So, getting a singing bowl, that's a C tone, that is also
earth element.
So we have herbs, rattle, drum, any kind of percussion type of
(59:35):
instrument.
You've got your crystals andworking my way back to that very
first practice where I was likepick up objects on a walk.
Well, those objects that I toldyou guys, in the zippy bag.
You know, if you're taking anice walk, an intentional walk,
(59:57):
and you're picking up leaves ortwigs or rocks or whatever,
you're wandering about pickingthings up and you put them in
the Ziploc bag.
When you find your tree, youcan set them up in a beautiful
mandala, or you can take themhome and put them on your altar
(01:00:22):
or in your garden in a beautifulmandala.
Use them as a mandala, use themas a maze, make a living spiral
where you can walk into thespiral and actually walk the
path to the center, where youcan sit and meditate.
Um spirals um are associatedwith the earth element because
(01:00:47):
it shows the cycles of life.
Um mazes, I believe, areassociated with the earth
element as well, because life isunpredictable, because because
earth has so many different umdimensions and uh, paths and
(01:01:11):
places to go and things to doand people to see, and then
doing a crystal grid or somesort of mandala-like grid where
you're creating a living map ora living web of these energies
(01:01:44):
and you are having reverence forthem and you are creating
something new out of them.
So you can use those foundobjects to make a beautiful
altar presentation.
You can also use them to makeart as part of your ritual.
(01:02:05):
You can glue them to a piece ofpaper or you can use the leaves
and some acrylic paint or someyou know whatever chalk or
whatever.
You decide to choose and use adifferent medium.
And you know, use the prints.
Take the leaf and stamp littleprints on a piece of paper.
(01:02:28):
Make a mandala out of that, make a mandala out of that.
(01:02:52):
I find that being creative withhow you want to connect earth to
you, connect earth to yourgifts, connect earth to your
passions, to your path, to yourambitions, and you make it your
own.
Earth will respond morepositively the more personalized
that you make it.
So really, figure out like what?
What is personal to me?
Where do I really want to seeearth flow more in my life?
(01:03:14):
10 years ago, I focused earthelement on bringing me emotional
stability.
I had some really bigrollercoaster emotions because I
had had a lot of PTSD fromabuse in my teens and when I
(01:03:39):
first had my first daughter Iwas starting to heal all of the
trauma that I had been throughin my early teens to late teens.
And when I started to work withthe earth element, it started
(01:03:59):
to bring in this emotionalstability, this ability to
master my internal terrain.
So with that I would haveprobably incorporated a lot of
(01:04:24):
poetry or art elements.
Um, where I am creating things.
I remember one of the firstthings that I did was um, I had
a big, beautiful eucalyptus treein my backyard that I would sit
under and I would just close myeyes and put my back against
the tree and I would listen tothe leaves.
I would listen to eucalyptustrees make this like, very like,
(01:04:45):
like very interesting treesound and I would listen to the
leaves and at first it just wasvery calming to listen to.
But over time I would listen tothe leaves and at first it just
was very calming to listen to,but over time I started to hear
the whispers of the tree and oneday when I was sitting beneath
the tree, it dropped a branch, like a little bit over there,
(01:05:07):
and I went and I picked it upand I ripped off all the extra
little branches and I ended upcarving a wand out of that tree
limb.
And from that point on Istarted to really incorporate
more earth medicine into my life.
And that was really just meresponding to this exchange with
(01:05:30):
this tree.
And it all started with me justsitting beneath the tree and
listening to the wisdom thatthis tree was bringing into my
life Um, teaching me how tobreathe, teaching me how to
quiet my mind, teaching me howto be okay in the present moment
(01:05:51):
, knowing that, even thoughthere's a billion things vying
for my attention, I can sit here, I have time to sit here, the
world's not going to burn if Isit and enjoy this moment with
this tree.
I could probably sit here foran hour and the world wouldn't
(01:06:13):
burn.
So find what really resonatesfor you.
If you're someone who has a lotof racing thoughts you jump from
subject to subject you have areally hard time being able to
complete tasks.
You might be looking for moremental stability, mental focus
(01:06:38):
and clarity, grounding yourthoughts into actions, and you
you know, carving a wand wouldreally be good for that.
Be good for that.
Maybe you're someone whose bodyreally aches and hurts and
(01:06:58):
instead of necessarily wantingstability or anything like you
just want your pain managed.
You just want your pain to bealleviated.
You want to be able to createand foster a healthy body that
is not restricted, that is notcausing you discomfort, and a
(01:07:22):
good way to work with that wouldbe to support that particular
ailment.
So a good beginner's book that Iwould recommend is there.
(01:07:46):
I'll actually just put in thedescription it's Cunningham's
Magical Herbs, that one I use alot.
Maybe I'll drop anotherreference below, but that's the
one I mostly use.
And, like I said before, ifyou're not getting information
(01:08:11):
about a certain plant through asearch, you can always sit with
the plant and do the practicethe very first practice that we
talked about with how to connectwith the tree.
You do that with the plant andeven if it's a dried herb yes,
the dried herbs are a lot harderto connect with the plant
(01:08:32):
itself yes, the dried herbs area lot harder to connect with the
plant itself.
But you can hold the plant andyou can ask it yes or no.
Can you help me with this?
You can also go into ameditation.
Hey, higher self, higher self, what herb or crystal is going to
(01:08:59):
help with my back pain?
Hmm, carnelian, okay, I don't.
I don't know much aboutcarnelian, but okay, carnelian.
Turmeric, nettle Seeing aturnip for some reason,
(01:09:37):
mushrooms, okay.
So these are the things thatare coming up.
I would either acquire them orI'd pick a couple and you put
them in a little a little bag,it can be.
It's usually better if it'slike a leather bag or some sort
(01:10:01):
of more permanent bag.
Um, another thing is is I, I TI'm teaching a workshop on how
to make a medicine rattle.
So instead of a bag, you canmake it into an enclosed
necklace, or you could cast itinto resin, you could sew it
(01:10:23):
into a pillow.
There's a lot of different waysthat you can take those
medicines and put them into asealed object and with that
medicine bag, you'd want tocarry it on you until your aches
(01:10:44):
and pains have alleviated.
So that can really help is, ifyou're having issues with pain
management, use a medicine bag.
So that was our episode today.
I really appreciate you guysjoining me.
(01:11:06):
I hope that you were inspired bysome of these practices, were
inspired by some of thesepractices and I hope that now
that we've gone through what youcan do to connect with Earth,
that you start to play aroundwith connecting with the Earth.
(01:11:26):
I know that these can sound alittle silly, but if you take
the time and remember what it'slike to play and to have
curiosity and to not worry whatother people are thinking of you
and what you're doing, you willfind that the connections that
(01:11:51):
you cultivate are so enrichingand vibrant, even if they're not
human, and they bring a lot ofvalue to your life and they will
help make life more playful andfun, the way that it was when
you were younger, before youbecame jaded and phone obsessed,
(01:12:12):
before you became jaded andphone obsessed.
So I encourage you to returnback to nature and to start to
cultivate that connection withthe earth again.
And if you're interested inlearning more about these
practices or you'd like to booka session and ask me specific
(01:12:33):
questions about what you'redealing with and how I might be
able to help you you know whereto find me Go ahead and reach
out on my website.
I'd be more than happy tosupport you, and I believe you
can also ask me questionsthrough the podcast directly.
(01:12:54):

through the show there.
I'm just so excited to have youall join me for this show and
I'm so grateful to each andevery one of you.
I hope you enjoy ascendingtogether as you put these
(01:13:15):
practices into action.
