In this week’s free Raised By Video episode, we awkwardly laugh our way through a review of Joker: Folie à Deux, also known by its less stupid name, Joker 2. We ponder just how much Todd Phillips was sniffing his own farts when he decided to make this train wreck of a movie. But this sequel isn’t just the butt of our jokes. We find a couple of things that we like about it, too. Or we at least try. Sometimes, that’s all you can ask.
We talk about it all, from the decision to make it a musical to the massive payday both Phoenix and Phillips got, plus the well-deserved derision this film received from fans upon release. It’s a laugh-riot of an episode, and one that will surely go down as more entertaining than the movie itself — although that's a very low bar.
Joker: Folie à Deux is a 2024 cash grab directed by Todd Phillips; written by Phillips and Scott Silver. It stars Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, and Zazie Beetz.
