The Witch arrives, ritualized, wolves scratching on the door.
They have her far outnumbered and yet they don’t know the score.
In time they’d learn that Mortima lacked patience to her core.
Wolves take advantage; this is war.
Luring, striking, casting, binding in the rising sun.
The Wolven Scouts decreeing that the fight’s already won.
They’ve poisoned Mother’s bloodstream, the child inside is done.
