Crystal (00:01):
In our first episode of
random resolve, we're gonna be
talking about our PSA coming upnext.
Cathy (00:16):
Happy New Year everybody
Rant and Resolve is here. I am
your host Cathy and I am herewith Crystal, your co host.
Crystal (00:28):
What's up?
Cathy (00:29):
You guys have been so
patient with us while we worked
through 2020. The probably themost chaotic year I think we've
ever had in my lifetime or I'veever had. We've been working
really hard with a lot ofclients all year. So we had to
put this a little bit on thebackburner. But, boy, do we have
a lot of great episodes comingup this year, don't we, Crystal?
Crystal (00:53):
Yes, I know. I'm so
excited for all the topics that
we're going to be covering thisyear.
Cathy (00:58):
How was your holiday with
this whole COVID-19 chaos?
Crystal (01:03):
Well, you know, for
those that don't know me, I'm
from East Texas, and we havedifferent set of rules back
home. Everybody still meets upand gathers and all that stuff.
So lots of COVID testing I'msure everybody has had to do but
all honesty, we had a reallygreat holiday, very country
Cathy (01:22):
the world way way where
you weren't walking around with
the Purel and the hand sanitizerand the mask and you were
standing out.
Crystal (01:30):
Let me tell you, that
sanitizer was on my belt loop. I
didn't move anywhere. Withoutit. There was no forgetting at
all my sanitizer, and my MinnieMouse mask, And let me tell you
something, we had the best timewe did a lot of things outside
on lots of acreage of land. Sowe were all outdoors, and of
(01:53):
course my sister just bought anRV, and she parked it on the
land. We had another RV parkthere for the uncles and aunts
to stay in evening, let them inthe house. And then we had a
tractor we loaded the kids inthe front loader What does raise
them up and down and kept thementertained while we were having
some spirited beverages.
Cathy (02:16):
Well, that sounds like
fun. My family, We all stayed
in. We were all COVID-19 aware.
In fact, my Christmas was spentwith my family. All on Facebook.
I swear we look like The BradyBunch. You know, we had the
funny person making funny faces.
(02:38):
We had, you know people fallingasleep. People distracted. I
don't know, I think the calllasted maybe 20 minutes, which
was typical. It was like atypical holiday. Our podcast is
a freestyle podcast. So whathappens on the podcast stays on
the pod cast.
Crystal (02:59):
And we hope you stay
with us. Honestly, you know, we
still have all the holiday foodand everything sitting around in
our bellies and now we'regetting back to work. But now I
am really excited for Rant andResolve it is time to get
rolling. So for the firstsubmission that we had on rant
(03:20):
and resolve is kind ofhilarious.
Cathy (03:22):
This was the very first,
first email and I sent this to
you and we knew this had to bean episode.
Crystal (03:28):
Yeah, I was just like,
Good lord. The first one I got
one for you. The rant is Icalled the other day and a rep
transferred me to a higherdepartment about my TCL Excel
showing zero data, zero SMS andzero talk. Internet was sluggish
(03:51):
and slow past couple of days notsure how I could have 10
megabytes only left for datawhen data was just added
yesterday and showed minutes, etc. Just the evening when I
sent a text to 611611 I sentseveral emails and various
(04:13):
emails for track phone, a ladynamed Suzanne did try to help
resolve the issue by sending mea new replacement phone. One of
my emails I have is to BBCcomplaints and
www.trackphone.com as well asthe number. Okay, this is
(04:33):
interesting. this gentleman'sresolve is if someone can tell
can call or email and persuadethem to resolve by sending out a
replacement Android for exchangefor this one I have as well as
resolved the data loss issues.
I'm sorry sir but we are not theBetter Business Bureau. I don't
(04:54):
have the power of force withinme darlings, sir, to go out and
get you a track phone situationor an Android phone. I do
apologize this happended to you.
Cathy (05:09):
You can't bring back his
data. You can't bring back his
data
Crystal (05:11):
I mean, he did leave a
number. I suppose I really
wanted to get extra credit, Icould probably call on his
behalf. But that's not what wedo, darling. But I want to say
great job. Suzanne, whoever youare for trying to resolve this
gentleman's issue. Good job,Suzanne. We're gonna be talking
about customer experience andcustomer service. So Suzanne,
(05:35):
you get bonus points for tryingto help this guy.
Cathy (05:39):
She sent him a
replacement phone.
Crystal (05:41):
I guess he was still
trying to figure out the loss of
his data.
Cathy (05:47):
wasn't on the new phone?
Crystal (05:49):
Apparently not. He's
got some data things going on.
Message things? I don't know. Imean, I guess my resolve would
be like, why are you using atrack phone?
Cathy (06:03):
Not an apple or a Samsung
2050? Plus?
Crystal (06:06):
I mean, I don't even
know if I'm familiar with Trac
phones. Are you Cathy?
Cathy (06:11):
No I'm not. I mean, I
know that there are Track
phones. No, I'm not a Trackphone expert.
Crystal (06:17):
What is your take on
this?
Cathy (06:19):
So I'm gonna say a PSA is
a public service announcement.
Crystal (06:23):
There's a tip of the
tip for the week, folks. PSA.
Cathy (06:29):
So the public service
announcement for Rant and
Resolve is that we are not hereto be your Better Business
Bureau customer service supportpeople. I can't imagine trying
to call on behalf of you. Onevery single problem that
everybody has. A lot of thesethings now, you know, these guys
(06:51):
ask you questions like, youknow, when you call like, okay,
here's a great example, Crystal, tell me if you agree with this
one. So when you call, you'regoing to go pay your electric
bill and you call and they'reverifying it's you. Well, why
are you verifying It's me, ifI'm offering to give you money?
I'm offering to pay my bill. Andyou still want to know it's me.
Crystal (07:13):
I mean, if you want to
call me and pay for my bills, I
won't ask any questions.
Cathy (07:19):
Anyway, so really rant
and resolve, we want to let
everybody know that our wholegoal here is that, you know, we
do a lot of work with smallbusiness owners. And I think
that there's kind of a lack ofknowledge on how things work.
Why can't we all get along, inthe last year, really, the last
couple of years, I've noticed, you know, in social groups in,
(07:43):
you know, gosh, just in feeds, you know, people are ranting
about things. And then otherpeople are jumping in and
there's just no real resolve.
They're just arguing and notgetting to the point. nobody's
really giving any, you know, specificity, specificity. You
know what, there goes mydictionary right there, but
you're not giving a solution.
(08:04):
And so what we wanted to do is,the rants are real, you know,
the complaints are real, whetheryou're a consumer, or you're a
small business owner, you needto be heard, you know, as a
consumer, we want to be heard,we want to have the best
customer service. And I'm abuyer just like you, Crystal,
but I'm also a small businessowner that says, you know, what
(08:26):
is this? Is this rant real?
Should I change this in mybusiness? Should I make it
better? Maybe I'm not puttingout enough content to help
people understand why we'redoing something a certain way.
And so we wanted to create Rantand Resolve as a way to, yes,
absolutely, we're going to haveso much fun with this, we
already are. But at the sametime, the idea is to come up
(08:48):
with a resolve, we're not doingcustomer service issues like
this, one of the things that wereally don't do, and we want to
make sure that everybodyunderstands this, you know, you
just go to rant and resolve. Andthen you click the Submit your
rant button, we're going to askyou what we think your resolve
is because we love it. We wantto hear your take on it. And I
(09:09):
think the business owners dotoo. And then just from there,
it's kind of like, is this agood idea? Should we change
this? Should we make it better?
The idea is always making itbetter creating that ultimate
buying and selling experienceboth for us as consumers and
then us as business owners. Onewe're not a better business
(09:29):
bureau, but we really don't wantto throw anybody under the bus,
right crystal, We're not goingto call you
Crystal (09:33):
Totally not
Cathy Thomas (09:34):
we're not gonna
call out. We don't want somebody
to go out of business because ofsomething we said what we want
to do. And our goal here is tonot put them out of business,
but make sure they do the rightthings to stay in business. I
mean, that's our number onegoal. We want your business to
thrive if you're a smallbusiness owner, and as a
consumer, I think reviews aren'tgoing to fix all the problems
(09:55):
but they're helpful. So there'sa lot of pros and cons to
ranting and resolving, But thekey factor here is that we just
don't want to throw anybodyunder the bus. Let's all get
along. Love one another
Crystal (10:08):
That's me, I like it
when we're all happy, we all get
along
Cathy (10:13):
So just to let you guys
know, when you submit a rant or
you're part of ours are in thegroup, everybody has something
important to say. And sometimesit's just about learning, you
know, learning why it's donethat way. And that gives you
better understanding. You know,I think that's a big thing. So
rant and resolve in no way shapeor form will allow races,
(10:34):
gender, ethnicity, sexuality, derogatory, nothing crazy on
rants, we're not superpolitical, but I might get a
little political at some points, but crystal will throw me into
place,
Crystal (10:47):
Yep, I'll get my lassp
out and reel you back in.
Cathy (10:48):
The platform and no way
is going to slander any specific
business. That's not the goal.
Our platform is really to createa voice for everyone. Any, any
questions on our platform, orinside the groups opinions,
comments, outside of the group,we just, we just want to make
sure that we're all kind of onthe same page. So we want to
allow all voices to be heard. Sowe just want to make sure that
(11:12):
you kind of following thoseguidelines when you submit your
rant? If it doesn't, we'reprobably not going to talk about
it. Right, Crystal? I mean,we're just not
Crystal (11:25):
Yeah, I mean, the goal
here is, this is a platform to
have a little fun, because weall have rants in our lives for
various different businesses, service that you want, whether
it's dining out, which we usedto be able to do, or whether we
at the convenience store, grocery store, driving down the
road, I can't wait till we talkabout road rage. That's going to
(11:47):
be a fun topic, Cathy, I thinkwill be a great example of that.
But we'll get to that in aminute
Cathy (11:56):
I know I talked to
everybody when I drive. But
really the bottom line is guys,we look forward to helping
educate the minds of ourconsumers and our business
owner, using our platform tohelp businesses be better and do
better for the for thecustomers, right? That's our
goal. And then hopefully, thatthe customers learn and
(12:19):
understand keep going to yourfavorite people, we're in an
economy right now that we needto support our small business
owners, everybody that's inbusiness, but of course, we're
gonna do a lot to support smallbusiness owner. So one little
thing that goes wrong with asmall business owner can really
put them out of business. So ourgoal is really to just help. And
that's really, that's really itcrystal. I mean, like that's,
(12:42):
that's what I got to see youhave anything else you want to
add?
Crystal (12:45):
I think you pretty much
nailed it, you know, bottom line
Rant and Resolve is we want tosee your rants and what you
consider thr resolution to bebased on that rant. It's really
about creating a greatexperience between business
owners and consumers, theirconsumers, your consumers. And
then we kind of add in ouropinion on that. And we just
(13:09):
hope you guys stick with us,check us out, submit some of
your rants over with yourresolutions. We can't wait to
talk about some of the thingsthat you'd like to hear us talk
about.
Cathy (13:17):
Yeah, and, if you don't
have a resolution, just tell us
your rant, we'll figure it out.
We'll call a friend. We know theindustry.
Crystal (13:25):
We'll call a friend.
Cathy (13:26):
But really guys, I want
to say Also be sure to check out
the insider secrets interviews,we'll be interviewing small
business owners, salesprofessionals, people in certain
industries that really have alot of insight. I know a lot of
people in 2021 are looking fornew jobs, new careers, maybe
(13:48):
you're even that person that'skind of thinking I want to start
a business. So we have a lot ofepisodes in between our weekly
episode that will interviewdifferent business owners or
different occupationalprofessionals that will share a
lot about their experience inthat profession. And we hope
that you're one of those peopletrying to figure out what you
(14:08):
want to do next. If you are oneof those people who have been
affected with the COVID-19 maybelost your job. We're hoping that
we can provide some greatinsight, just getting to know
these other business owners andindustry professionals on the
show inside of insider secrets.
So our first two, when you getto this episode, you'll probably
see one about crystal. So, checkthat out so you can get to know
(14:31):
Crystal a little bit better. Andthen of course, we'll have one
about me. I think I'll justinterview myself. It'll be fun
to have you kind of interviewme. So I want to thank everybody
for definitely sticking with uswhile we've worked on launching
this in 2020. Right, Crystal?
Crystal (14:51):
Right! I am so happy
that 2020 is in the rearview.
We're moving forward with 2021and we have been in the making
of Rant and Resolve for so long.
So it's just so nice to beactually in the studio with you,
Cathy, and being able to starttalking about the things and the
content that we have really beenbuilding over time.

ultimate buying and sellingexperience. My name is Kathy,
