Hi hi! It's time for another 'Ratbag' episode and boy oh boy do we start off with something that passes the bechdel test! To kick start the ep we are chatting about the daily choices we make to engage in 'micro feminism', we're talking things you can bring to the workplace or for the home "tell a buddy Jackson!". We then massively pivot to unpack why all dads seem to love the most bizarre confectionary.
Our hotline opens a conversation surrounding a big question we asked our listeners "what age so far, has been the best age for you and why?". Your results are in, and they are verryyyyy interesting! We then we have a listener 'would you rather?' for our 'Kick Ons' and its theme lives in the world of ~theatre etiquitte~.
Finally our 'Hit It Toots!" has us singing as our dads to the fitting theme of Surf Rock.
We're so chuffed you're here and you're listening! We will see you on Thursday for another '‘Ratfood!’

Mel & Sam would like to acknowledge that Ratbag is being recorded on Stolen Land.
The original custodians of this land have had a rich history of storytelling for over 65,000 years, and we pay our respects to the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation whose land we are recording Ratbag on.
Treaties were never signed. Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was and always will be Aboriginal land.

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
