I really enjoyed this episode with Marianne Scarzello on Emotions and Being a New Leader.
Being a new leader can expose you to many emotions, those of others, but especially your own. It can be a scary and vulnerable thing when you are new and want to appear that you have all the answers or have everything put together. If you don't learn to properly manage your emotions, your different feelings will turn into self-doubt, fear, and anger.
Marianne shared some great, simple advice on the following:
When dealing with others' emotions (and your own):
Start small
Take little breaks
Don't try to do it alone If you don't take care of yourself, "I should be able to" turns into "why am I not able to."
