Speaker 2 (00:23):
This is Ready Set
Reiki, a podcast about Reiki and
all energy work, from thecurious beginner to the seasoned
master teacher, welcoming allsystems, all lineages and all
levels.
Reiki is a journey and not adestination, and on this Ready
Set Reiki journey, I refer tomyself as a guide.
So I'm Tracy Seawright and thisis Ready Set Reiki.
Hello everyone, welcome TracySeawright here and let's begin
(00:49):
our journey today.
So what an honor it is to havemy guest here today.
Her name is Kathleen A Hearn.
Now she is a coach, supportingneurodivergent adults in their
20s and into their 40s toreconnect with their authentic
selves and create lives alignedwith their strengths and values.
Now, drawing on somaticpractices, energy work, writing
(01:13):
and nervous system awareness, she offers a safe,
transformative space for growth.
Now, after self-diagnosing withADHD in her 20s, kathleen
realized that she has beencomforting to external
expectations and conforming tothem.
Embracing her neurodivergence, she now helps others move
(01:34):
through executive dysfunction,imposter syndrome, fear-based
belief and, overwhelmed withcompassion and practical tools,
overwhelmed with compassion andpractical tools, her work
empowers clients to unmask, gainclarity and build confidence
(01:54):
while aligning body, mind andspirit.
Now she believes every persondeserves gentle support and a
space to be fully seen, and hermission is to help
neurodivergent individuals movefrom disconnection to
authenticity and from self-doubtto a joyful life on their own
terms.
Welcome Kathleen to Ready SetReiki.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Thank you so much for
that beautiful introduction.
Tracy, Thank you so much forhaving me.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Wonderful, so can't
wait to get this journey started
.
This is a really importanttopic to talk about.
You know, as many more peopleseem to be getting diagnosed
with neurodivergence.
You know, as a teacher I wasteaching in the 90s and we're
seeing way many more now andit's great that people are
(02:38):
finally getting answers thatmaybe thought something was
wrong as they were getting olderand now they're able to have
this as a resource to reallyknow what's kind of going on.
So let's begin by telling us alittle bit about yourself.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Sure.
So I am a nurse coach.
So I've been a nurse for wow, nine years now.
I can't believe it.
For wow, nine years now.
I can't believe it.
And I have been on my nursecoach journey unofficially since
maybe 2020, but officially I'vebeen doing this for about wow I
(03:15):
think it's been a year alreadyand so it's been a process.
It's been a lot of unlearningand learning things.
It's been a lot of unlearningand learning things.
(03:42):
I originally found out aboutnurse coaching when I went to a
conference by one of my NorthStars of nursing.
Her name is Dr Jean Watson andher theory of human caring has
been a guiding force in mypractice.
In addition to having thecaring moment between a nurse
and their patient, she alsoembraces the metaphysical
phenomenas of spirit source andanything and that kind of really
like wow, like I can be amedical professional and embrace
my other interests, like Reikiand chakras and everything in
(04:08):
between, and it really felt goodthat this is something that I
can do.
So I did my nurse certificationcourse last year and I've been
just slowly but surely justbuilding up myself and really
(04:28):
doing what I do with joyfulpurpose, and I've been enjoying
it.
There have been setbacks, butit's nothing I can't handle.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Right, so the Reiki.
So did Reiki find you, or didyou find Reiki?
When did it come into your life?
Speaker 3 (04:45):
you know it's it's
hard to say because I first I
first experienced it actually ata conference for um, one of Dr
Watson's um, one of her theories, I think.
It was like upstate New York.
I begged my mother, mom, can wego, please?
It'll be really fun, it'll bereally cool, let's go.
(05:05):
So we went and that was where Ihad my first Reiki session.
It was a group Reiki circle andit was just God bless her.
It was just one practitionerand I think there was like 20 of
us in there, so God bless.
But I felt so rejuvenated andand like even just talking about
(05:28):
it's, just like getting tinglesand like I'm re-experiencing
that.
And even afterwards, um,because you know, like I like my
, I like my rocks, I like mycrystals, um, and they uh,
allowed us to take like acrystal that called to us.
So I actually still have that, that crystal from that day as a
reminder of what again, like asa nurse, like what we can do,
(05:51):
like it's not I don't have to bethis or that, I can be a nurse
and a Reiki practitioner.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
Right, right, I love
it, I love it.
It's always good to havesomeone in the medical
profession be in Reiki as well.
It's just such a wonderfulmodality to walk alongside the
medical profession.
So, as you've been learningabout Reiki, as you've been,
you've experienced it.
What are some of themisconceptions that you find
about Reiki?
Speaker 3 (06:21):
I think the most
thing that I've come across is
it's just a bunch of woo-woo.
It doesn't actually work.
And I get you know and thenalso like, oh, you're a nurse,
and you like, do this?
I'm like, yeah, yeah, I do.
And so, uh, the way I I like toexplain it is, you know, like
(06:50):
when you see a, um, a windmill,or if you see like just leaves,
trees blowing in the wind, likeyou don't see it but you can
feel it, uh, you, I'm sorry, no,you can see it, you can feel it
, but you don't actually see thewind itself.
You see how it affects otherthings.
So the energy that we channelfor our reiki sessions, it's
your.
(07:10):
You might feel it a differentway, you might not feel it.
I had a couple people say Ididn't feel anything like that's
okay, just pay attention overthe next couple days, see if
anything has shifted, even justa little bit, because the energy
works the way, the way it wantsto, and you know, be receptive,
(07:31):
be open and just just let it.
Let it happen.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Beautiful.
So you are out there, helpingindividuals, help move past
these dysfunctions and impostersyndrome fear-based belief and
helping them to gain clarity andbuild confidence.
So, as you're helping otherswith their challenges or
struggles, what has been thebiggest challenge or struggle
(07:56):
that you faced in?
I think?
Speaker 3 (08:01):
one of the more
difficult things is the slow
lane.
Is the fast lane right?
It's not just like, for example, if you're studying for a test,
you can't just read a book, memorize and then pass your test
(08:22):
.
There's no test to pass, it'scan you integrate what you are
learning, like with?
You know, if you do therapy, ifyou go to therapy, if you use
other modalities, you have acoach, you know it's not the
(08:42):
here, we're gonna sit down downand I'm going to teach you and
then you're going to memorize itand then you congratulations.
Here's your certificate of yay,I have healed from my trauma.
It's a lot of integration.
It doesn't work as fast as wewould like it.
It and we still need to kind ofcome back to the teachings that
(09:11):
we have received and justcontinue showing up for the
lessons that come up in life andchoosing differently than what
we may have done in the past andchoosing to handle a situation
differently because of the newknowledge that you have.
Beautiful.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Now having this new
knowledge that you have when you
look back at your journey, whatdo you wish your younger self
knew about Reiki?
Speaker 3 (09:39):
I think, just to
allow and breathe and it's.
Everything will happen the wayit is supposed to happen.
You can't brute force yourselfinto healing, right?
Because I can only speak formyself.
(10:01):
I am an instant gratificationtype person.
So I have, over the past evenjust the past year alone I've
been slowing down and tellingmyself it's okay, you will get
everything you need in perfecttiming.
It's, and the more you try tokind of grip it, the more it's.
(10:25):
It's just going to fall out outin between your fingers.
So, um, just do what you can, don't do more and just trust the
universe will give.
Give you what you need at theperfect time.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Oh, absolutely.
Uh, you know, several years agoI had listened to a
businesswoman and she had saidcome from a place of yes, say
yes.
So I started saying yes toeverything and I'm like, oh my
goodness, this is too much.
And now you know, now, severalyears in, it's these things that
you are manifesting and all ofa sudden they are all arriving
(11:02):
right In the same week or thesame month and it's the idea of,
like, hold on right.
The idea of slowing down alittle bit and trusting that the
universe is what is meant foryou will come your way.
So just have that faith in it.
But it was man that probablywasn't the best advice to give
(11:23):
me, because I was saying yesinstead of just like okay, I
need to be a little bitselective here, not only for you
know, just myself, you knowself care, right.
Saying yes to everything'sexhausting, right?
There's only one of me and I'mlike I need to clone myself,
yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
And then I think
that's the other thing is listen
to yourself, listen to yourbody.
Like even just two years ago, Iwasn't really that in tune with
with my body and my energy andhow I'm actually feeling.
So I, like you, I wouldcontinue to say yes to
everything, because a of I wantto be there for everybody, but
(12:04):
then I forget to be there formyself.
And then, as um, I would getmore in tune with my body.
I would do more frequentcheck-ins like how am I actually
feeling?
Like you know what?
I'm kind of tired.
I don't think I can go to, uh,this thing today, right.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
So, and just being
knowledgeable of your own
signals of overwhelm, or like, yeah, I'm good, or just being in
tune with that um also is, uh,my younger self would also
greatly benefited from that andto actually not just be in tune
(12:41):
but actually follow throughRight, right, and I heard last
week I was listening to thismaster teacher and she was
explaining that you know, thinkabout it, some of these healers,
they don't live that long, youknow, and she means, you know,
under 70 years old, because theywere just making themselves so
(13:04):
accessible that they gotphysically sick.
And so you don't want to be agatekeeper, you know, with
people, and but being selectiveactually helps you as well,
right with your energy, thatyou're not saying yes to
everything, and that kind ofreally hit me.
It's like, wow, like when youthink about it, you know, as Zoe
Zui passed from a stroke, youknow, but then you look at
(13:25):
Madhav Takata, who was selectivein her process and she lived to
be 80.
Yeah, so when it is time foryou to get an energetic tune-up,
what are some qualities thatyou look for in a Reiki
practitioner?
Speaker 3 (13:43):
I actually have only
gotten a Reiki tune-up from two
people, and one of them I wentto her for gosh, I think like a
year or two, but she was areferral from one of my friends
and when I met her we just kindof like we kind of met on that
same like vibration waves, likewe were just so in tune with
(14:05):
each other and like I just feltso safe.
I felt like she was listeningto me, she allowed me to express
how I was feeling in a nonjudgmental space, and there were
, you know, other besides theReiki.
(14:25):
She also did aromatherapy.
So she would you know, if I wasfeeling like I needed to pick
me up, she would give me someorange scent along with, you
know, my session, or she would.
I would tell her how I wasfeeling the day before and then
she, the incense that she burnedthat that day she would uh,
tailor it to what?
(14:45):
To my uh, you know what I said, how I was feeling the day
before.
So, um it was.
It was a very individualized, very personal um, and I, I also,
I I like to talk when we'redone.
So I appreciate she actuallylike let me stay and like we
(15:09):
just talked, and also because Isaw her so often, she knew like
she would know me, she would getto know me Like.
So I got cold during my session.
So she'd always lop on an extrablanket for me because, no
matter, even if it was in themiddle of the summertime, I
would just get so cold.
(15:29):
My fingers and toes would justbe freezing by the time we were
done.
So, um, I really liked that shegot to know me, but then I
moved.
Uh, then I moved, so I couldn'tsee her as often anymore.
So, uh, the second person that,um, I got a, a tune up from same
thing.
We just happened to meet at ourlocal store and just we like
clicked immediately and then Itold her I was looking for a you
(15:52):
know someone to give me a tuneup.
And she's like, well, I'm aReiki practitioner.
I'm like, oh my God, this isthe greatest day ever.
So, and when I went to her Ifelt like I got like the royal
spa treatment, like we did soundhealing candle dressing, um
intentions and like I think Iwas there for way longer than I
(16:15):
should have been, but um, justhaving that comforting, safe
energy and um, um, being able tokind of help me pinpoint what I
need to focus on for thesession helped a lot and um, and
(16:37):
both of them also provided mewith resources after the session
and say hey, you know, your, your heart chakra was blocked
like a lot, like it was blockeda lot.
So, you know, go meditate onlove, get some rose quartz,
maybe have some rose water, andthat was just.
(16:58):
That was just a very nice touch.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Beautiful, beautiful.
So what advice would you givesomeone who's just entering this
spiritual work?
Speaker 3 (17:08):
Trust the process.
There is no right, there is nowrong.
There is only what feels goodto you.
And if you feel like you'redoing it wrong, feel like you're
doing it wrong.
Uh, try different things untilyou feel like you're.
It feels good to you, um,because I, um, I usually do
(17:30):
distance reiki because I don'thave my own space right now.
So I was trying to figure outhow to feel comfortable doing
reiki on a person who's actuallynot here.
And some people they've usedthey use proxies, like they use
like teddy bears I'm like Idon't want to use a teddy bear
(17:51):
or they have like a printout ofyou know, like a piece of paper.
I don't want to use a paper.
So I actually got thisbeautiful a body map where, if I
can show, can I show it to you.
A body map where, if I can show, can I show it to you.
And it's so funny because my,my cat, my cat loves it.
(18:13):
Every time I put it I have toshut the door because every time
I put it out, she will come andsit on the heart chakra, which
is so funny.
I've done this three times withthis, I've done it three times
with this mat and she alwayssits on the heart chakra.
It's so funny.
But now I usually have to threetimes with this.
I've done it three times withthis mat and she always sits on
the heart chakra.
It's so funny.
But now I usually have to closethe door now when I get this
out because she'll justinterrupt me.
So now when I do distance, Ihave this beautiful mat where it
(18:38):
has all of the chakra points onit, some meridian points.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
Also has the knees,
wow feet so it's like a size of
a of a massage table, healingtable pretty much, yeah, so, and
then there's also like um, sowhat happened?
Speaker 3 (18:59):
uh, the concept of
this map by um, alice and
francis, she, the oh, andthere's also to do the back.
There's also a little littlespine piece to it and the all
the chakra symbols came to herin a dream, so she had a
(19:21):
spiritual artist create them.
So, and because they're notlike the traditional you know
the Sanskrit Sure, which is neat, and I loved it.
I love this.
So I use it when I have mysessions now and it's been a
good visual for me and a good, good proxy that works for me to
(19:46):
use it.
But, yeah, just find what worksfor you and if it doesn't feel
good, just change it because youcan.
This is your practice, this ishow you want to offer your
spiritual gifts to the peoplethat you serve, so if it's not
in alignment with you, thendon't do it that way.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
Beautiful great
advice.
So are there any books that yourecommend?
Speaker 3 (20:10):
Yes, I actually
remember to get them.
So I haven't finished this yet,but so far it's been lovely.
It's Reiki for Life by PenelopeQuest Beautiful and so that one
is a it's kind of.
It is for levels 1, 2, and 3.
I'm only attuned to level 2right now, but all of the
(20:33):
guidance in here is pretty, it'sdeveloped and it kind of I like
that.
She includes diagrams andcharts in here, but it's a good
guide, like not textbook, butit's a good comprehensive guide
to um reiki and uh, this one itwas actually this one was that
(20:56):
was recommended to me by by myreiki master, who attuned to me
so, um, let's see, else did Ibring also, uh, the universe has
your back by gabriellebernstein.
And this one I liked it a lotbecause it's a lot, it's it.
It's the same message oftrusting the process, trusting
(21:18):
the universe, and instead of andreally taking a look at
yourself and where your actions, where your thoughts comes from,
and does it come out of fear ordoes it come from a place of
love?
And sometimes, things that Ithought were coming from a place
of love, it was actually comingfrom a place of fear Because,
(21:42):
like, for example, like fear of,like I want being vulnerable.
So I would people please, Iwould do actions that don't
necessarily align with me,because I want to be liked.
I don't want someone to notlike me.
But then you know after readingthis, it's no, I want to do
(22:04):
things because I love myself, because I want to be loved, and
in order to attract that, Ishould love myself.
And let's see, what else did Ibring?
So this was a recent read, actually.
It's called Live what you Love.
(22:26):
This goes into it's actuallycreative feng shui, which I've
never heard of, but it is takingthe core tenants of feng shui
and their energy map, theirmagic map, and kind of placing
where your energetic needs arelike what fits for you, where
(22:49):
you would like it, where yourenergetic needs are like what
fits for you where you wouldlike it.
And it's a I think it's a goodcreative book to see where your
energy flows and where do youwant it to go.
So, and then this last one is Ilike the goddess Bridget.
So this is Molly Remmer'sSacred Flame, a 30-day
(23:12):
devotional.
So I'm on.
I should have been done withthis already, but I'm on day 21.
I skipped a few days, but Ijust enjoy having a meditation
for the goddess Bridget everyday to do, to meditate on, to
reflect on or maybe on those lowenergy days.
Just read it and just have herwords with me for that moment.
(23:34):
Yeah, so those are books that Irecommend.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Wonderful.
Thank you for sharing that.
So what other services ormodalities do you offer?
Do you offer you know classes?
Do you do events, trainings?
Speaker 3 (23:54):
you know classes, do
you do events, trainings?
Sure, so I do.
I have been trying to doworkshops, for right now it's
breathwork workshops.
I am trying to do a live one.
I'm going to try to do live andvirtual on May 22nd.
I had one workshop last monthwhere again it was just.
I had one workshop last monthwhere again it was just, it was
breath work with the theme ofself-love, and then this month
(24:15):
will be a different theme.
I haven't quite thought of when, of what theme that will be yet
, but I it's, it's, I'm hopingit's going to be.
Third, I still have to make sureI get the place, but this month
definitely going to have aworkshop, whether it's virtual
(24:35):
or it'll be live or both.
And I still work my day jobfrom nine to five, so I do
healing sessions where I'll doReiki with someone, breath work
with someone.
I also am finishing a somaticEMDR course, so soon I'll be
able to offer that modality aswell.
And I am developing a coachingprogram and for lost my train of
(25:04):
thought developing athree-month coaching program.
I'm doing market research, soI'd love to.
Well, we'll save that for later, but I'm doing market research
for that as well.
What else am I doing?
That's pretty much it.
Right now I am trying to doblog posts Still coming, but
(25:28):
that's also something that Ilike to do Beautiful.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
So where can we find
you if someone wants to book a
session with you?
Speaker 3 (25:36):
So coming, but that's
also something that I like to
do Beautiful.
So where can we find you ifsomeone wants to book a session
with you?
So someone wants to book asession with me?
You can go to my website, hearthandforgehealingcom.
You can also find me onInstagram at
hearthandforgehealing, as wellas LinkedIn.
You can also find me onFacebook at my personal,
kathleen Ahern, or again myFacebook page, hearth and Forge
Healing.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
All right, beautiful.
Well, that ends the first partof our journey and I'm going to
continue on with you withquestions from social media and
from Reiki students.
So here we go.
Number one how do you explainenergy work to someone who is
neurodivergent?
Speaker 3 (26:15):
So with.
I find that most neurodivergentpeople.
They're very like visual orthey like the descriptives.
So I'll say so.
I'll explain.
Energy work.
As you know, it's all around us.
It's in the food we eat, it'sin the heat that we feel from
(26:37):
flames, it's everywhere.
And the energy that we workwith as Reiki practitioners, it
comes from the universe.
This is a pure love and we arethe funnels.
We are the funnels, we are thechannels and we bring this
(26:59):
energy directly from the sourceto the client and this is a
gentle form of healing.
I don't have to touch you and, again, this is why I also offer
the virtual Reiki services, because we don't have to be
present, because the energy canbe sent over time, it can be
sent over space and it can besent in the present, the past,
the future, and it works the wayit does.
(27:20):
So it's very gentle and thereis nothing forceful about it.
It goes, the energy will gowhere it needs to.
Again, just trust the processand drink lots of water when
we're done, because after I can,I can only go off myself after
(27:41):
my Reiki sessions I feel like Iwant to drink a gallon of water,
because sometimes there's a lotof energy that moves, and where
energy moves you're working, soit's always good to stay
hydrated afterwards.
Very good.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
Number two.
Now I have been attempting torespect this individual's unique
flow.
Who I am living with?
Who is neurodivergent?
So a little history with thatinformation and understanding
that they need to conserve theirenergy.
Why do you think energyconservation is so important to
(28:17):
a neurodivergent individual?
Speaker 3 (28:21):
Again.
I think it just goes back to.
It goes back to where do wewant it to go.
It goes back to again, like, like we said before, saying yes
to everything.
If we say yes to something, that's a piece of our energy
that goes out.
We energy conservation also.
(28:42):
To me, it also means boundaries.
It means taking like sort oflike an inventory of how you're
feeling and being in tune withyour body.
Knowing how much energy youhave, knowing how much battery
you got left is important, because once you deplete your
(29:07):
battery, that's it.
You're going to go to bed, oryour body will.
Your body will do something tosay, hey, I am done.
Um, so energy conversation isimportant, so that you have the
energy to do the things that youlike to do, the things that
bring you joy.
And we, of course, we want tomake people around us happy.
(29:34):
We want to make sure that theyknow that they're loved and that
they're cared for.
But it's important for yourself, especially as a neurodivergent
individual, to give yourselfthat care, give yourself that
love, charge your own battery asa way of telling yourself like
(29:54):
hey, I love me, I love myself.
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
I mean, sometimes
there's just days where it's
just a little too much, like Igot up this morning I taught a
kid Reiki training, which wasseven, several hours, and then
went off to the DMV.
And then a phone call happensRight, dmv, right, right.
And then you already have thatexperience.
(30:20):
And then, like the, got a textmessage about I have a house I'm
selling in Pennsylvania andsomething happened with that and
I was trying to deal with that.
And I got off the phone afterdealing with the water company
because it was a pipe and I justfelt so over, like it was just,
this is like I could feel it,it's just too much.
And I pulled over in my Jeep andI just placed my hands over my
(30:43):
heart and started to give myselfReiki.
I started to pray because Icould feel it in my body Like
this is just enough, because itwas one thing after another, one
glitch, one thing, and it wasjust like my goodness.
So it's a wonderful tool tohave.
You know, a few years ago Iwould have got come home, I
(31:04):
would have gotten grumpy with myhusband, right, I would have
just been awful to deal with.
But I knew like, okay, I need amoment here, absolutely so.
That's how.
That's how it comes to be ofservice.
You're a better person and thenyou start liking yourself.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
I'm like I'm really
not liking myself right now yeah
and yeah, and even just beingaware of like, hey, hey, I like
I don't like who I am right now,and you know, then you kind of
visualize or, like I guess, do alittle mini manifestation of
(31:45):
like how do I want to show up,how do I want to be here today,
how do I want to show up, how doI want to be here today?
And yeah, because recently Idon't remember what I was, just
grumpy I was just.
It was just one of those dayswhere my energy was just down in
the dumps and my husbandnoticed, like immediately, and I
God God bless him, like he was,he was very patient with me and
(32:07):
then, and then he finally saidwhy are you giving me the cold
shoulder today?
And I'm like I am trying reallyhard, I, I'm having something's
going on.
Yeah.
I don't know what, but I'mtrying really hard not to take
it out on you.
So because you are not theproblem I still have no idea
(32:28):
what the problem was, but youknow, I didn't want to, I didn't
want to be unpleasant.
But once he realizes, okay, I'mhere for you, I'm like great.
So then I took some time tomyself, gave myself love, gave
myself Reiki.
Still didn't feel great, but Ifelt better.
But sometimes you just need amoment.
(32:50):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
I needed it.
Today it sounds frustrating.
Well, I got through it, it'sokay, but it just shows you the
growth, how I've evolved, because several years ago it
would have been like, ah, andnow it's like okay, I know to
take a moment and just breathe.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
No, I would have
offloaded, I would have blamed
him.
No, it's not my fault.
You said this to me three daysago, and that's why I'm like no,
that's not true.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
Yeah, I would have
been bringing something up from
like 2014.
It's like wait, what's going on?
I just said hello to you.
How was your day Exactly?
Number three do you have anyrecommendations on a coping
mechanism for someone who hasdifficulty regulating their
emotions?
Speaker 3 (33:37):
Yeah, I, yes, and
someone that knows that they
have that difficulty regulatingemotions.
I think one of the things tostart with is what are you
feeling?
What emotion are you feeling?
Name, start with is what areyou feeling?
What emotion are you feeling?
Name that emotion, what are youfeeling.
And then from there so you cango a little bit deeper, and
(34:03):
where am I feeling this emotionin my body?
Right, like, if I'm feelinghere I'll use myself an example
again I was feeling anxiousright about an hour ago.
Right, I feel anxious.
Okay, so where am I feelinganxious?
It's for me, it's usually likein the pit of my stomach, like
right, right at the solar plexus, like right there, spot on,
(34:26):
right there I'm like okay, I'mfeeling anxious, I feel it in my
stomach.
Um, and for someone who doesn't, who is unfamiliar with their
own, with what works for them, Ialways recommend just try, just
start with breathing.
Start with breath work becauseyou always have it.
(34:47):
Uh, you don't need no speciallike mats, you don't need
special mats, you don't needcrystals, you always have your
breath.
And to that person, once theyname that emotion, identify
where in their body they feelthat emotion, whether it's
tightness or if it's heat, ifit's cool, any sensation that is
(35:10):
associated with that emotion, Iwould advise them just to place
their hand so they have thatsomatic connection.
I'm just putting it on myshoulder.
I know I said anxious was on mystomach.
You can't see my stomach.
So if they're feeling pressuredright, just if that's the
they're feeling pressured,they're feeling stressed.
The weight of the world is ontheir shoulders, right.
(35:37):
So I would advise them to placetheir hands on their shoulders,
or they could just do oneshoulder at a time and then just
breathe into that space, closetheir eyes and take three to
five breaths into that space, nothoughts, no affirmations, just
breathing into that space andsee how that does.
And I lost.
(35:58):
I got scared for a secondbecause it was just me on the
screen, can you?
If nope, okay, tracy, where'dyou go?
Speaker 2 (36:21):
so we were doing so
good another interesting thing
when my daughters, uh, say to methat they're overwhelmed, I'll
ask questions like um, did yousleep, you know?
Did you get something to eatRight?
(36:41):
Did you get a cup of coffeeRight?
So those are some othertechniques that I tell and
advise my daughters to do whenthey get overwhelmed and kind of
have to figure out why they'refeeling the way they're feeling.
Well, that was our lastquestion and, as we've been
talking, is there anything elsethat you have forgotten about or
(37:02):
want to share with thelisteners?
The floor is yours.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
Sure, I actually.
You went away twice, so Iactually wasn't sure how much of
that.
The last answer actually cameup.
So, yeah, okay, great, cool.
So for me I don't think Imissed anything.
I mentioned pretty mucheverything I wanted to.
(37:27):
But, um, if it's okay, I wouldjust love to lead us in a
somatic send off, just as athank you for your time and to,
just if anyone's listening, justfollow along, if that's okay.
Right, perfect, all right,beautiful.
So, um, to anybody, just if youare sitting, I just invite you
to place your feet flat on thefloor and we are going to take
(37:51):
our hands and just raise them up, with your palms facing up to
the ceiling.
You can go as high or as low asyou want and just acknowledge
what is here.
There is divine power here.
God, goddess, spirit source, whatever you would like to call
it and just take a deep breathin through your nose, pause and
(38:15):
give thanks and then releasethrough your mouth with a sigh
and then bring your palms to theground.
Just point them to the ground.
You don't have to touch it.
Just go as low as you wouldlike and notice what is here.
There is grounding energy.
There is the energy of ourancestors, of people who came
(38:39):
before us.
There are the little bugs, themicro movers of this earth.
Just acknowledge what is here, take a deep breath in, pause and
give thanks and release with asigh, and then I invite
everybody to spread your armsout wide, as if you are going in
(39:02):
for a hug, and you can see thatour hands are off the screen.
So I like to think that we areconnected with each other.
We are connected through ourhumanity, our experiences, our
sadness, happiness, anger, everything that makes us human.
We are connected.
Let's take a deep breath in,acknowledge and give thanks and
(39:26):
breathe out, and then just turnour attention inwards and you
can place both hands on yourchest and just notice what is
within.
There is love here, notice whatmakes you you, your thoughts,
your actions, even on a physicallevel, your cells, your organs,
(39:49):
whatever image you have beencreated.
Give thanks, take a deep breathin and out, and so we say we
(40:12):
are one, we are connected and weare blessed to experience each
day and every day with love, fulfillment and joyful purpose.
And so it is.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
Thank you so much.
It was wonderful having you onthis journey.
Thank you so much for takingtime out of your very busy
schedule, since you still haveyour nursing job as well, and
thank you for all that you do asa nurse.
It's people just don't realizehow hard nurses work.
Speaker 3 (40:50):
Yeah, it's, and no
matter what kind of nursing you
do, you are still a nurse andyou know there are there's,
there's a lot of ways to givethanks, so, and but even just a
simple thank, simple thank you, means the world to us, and
especially from the people thatwe care for, that they
appreciate us in all of our workthat we do.
(41:13):
Oh, tomorrow is actually, yeah, tomorrow, tuesday, may 6th, is
the beginning of Nurses Week.
So if you work with a nurse, know a nurse, tell them happy
Nurses Week this week.
So if you work with a nurse, know a nurse tell them happy
