(01:05):
But in between there I've hadindividuals who've experienced
Reiki sessions and they don'thave that calling or desire to
be a practitioner or even teach, and that is perfectly fine.
But then, having the experienceof those that have had a Reiki
session and they have thatlittle bit of calling to move on
to a practitioner and have abusiness, but they have that
(01:28):
fear within them to, you know, unsure if they can make it, the
fear, the doubt, the worry, andhow can they transform their
lives in a way that they can betheir true, authentic nature.
Well, my guest here absolutelycan help someone live their life
fully and transform their life.
(01:49):
So Lexi Godlewski is a soulentrepreneur, holistic marketer
and a TEDx speaker amazing, whohelps purpose-driven
entrepreneurs build lives andbusinesses they love by aligning

(02:09):
success from the inside out.

building a business from scratch.
She empowers others to do thesame, authentically and
courageously.
So if you are someone who hasbeen enjoying the Reiki energy
(02:29):
and you feel that calling totake that next step to have a
business, she might be the oneto reach out to.
So a small town girl doing bigtime things Lexi, welcome to
Ready Set Reiki.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Hi Tracy.
Thanks so much for having me onthe show.
I'm so happy to be here,Beautiful.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
So, as I gave you a
little introduction of what you
do and the amazing things thatyou are doing, tell us a little
bit about yourself.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Yeah, I mean, there's
so many things that we could go
into but really all my life Ihave followed the path that I
thought I was quote unquotesupposed to take, so went to
school, did all theextracurriculars, got good
grades um, you know, justfollowed this path that I
thought I was supposed to takeand that really led me to
college where I studied businessand marketing.
(03:19):
And even as a senior in collegeI started to get my feet wet
with entrepreneurship a littlebit, aka, I would go to the
dining hall between work andclasses and I started actually
coaching friends and doingmarketing consulting for
startups and helping them withtheir marketing.
So it kind of got me introducedinto this world of
entrepreneurship in a verypassion driven way.
(03:39):
And then I graduated and gotthis full timetime job where I
was really externally succeeding.
I was a 22, 23-year-old, freshout of college and yet I was
getting promoted, I was gettingpay raises, I was hiring team
members to join my team with meand I was really climbing the
ladder and finding all thisexternal success.
(04:02):
But on the inside I was totallyunfulfilled.
I hated my life, I hated goingto work every day and at this
very young age I already startedto question like is this all
there is now?
Do I just wake up, go to a jobI hate, get a paycheck, rinse or
pee every day now for the restof my life?
And so I was going throughthose motions and really
(04:24):
starting to figure it out and atthe same time, my soul was
really calling me to go back tomy roots of what I was doing in
college, of wanting to coachpeople and wanting to do
marketing, consulting and allthese things.
And so I started to reallybattle my own demons, where I
started to experience dailyanxiety attacks.
(04:45):
I got really depressed and Iwas just unfulfilled with life
in general.
And one day, out of the blue,we experienced my team and I
experienced one of my coworkershad silently taken her own life
and it really shook my worldbecause I worked with this woman
(05:08):
every day and I consider myselfto be very emotionally
intelligent, and yet I had noidea that she must have been
feeling so much different thanhow she showed up at work every
day.
And that experience reallyshook me to my core because it
really started to make me askmyself how many other people
(05:31):
around me are unfulfilled, areexperiencing anxiety attacks,
are depressed, are wanting moreout of life that I don't even
realize are right around me.
And so a few months after that,I decided to really go all in on
listening to my soul andfollowing those callings that
were in my heart, of starting myown business, of starting to
(05:53):
live life fully, of creating thelife that I actually wanted,
that I dreamed of.
And so I left that nine to five, started my own business from
scratch and really went intowhat I consider that first year
of to be my personal developmentbootcamp, where I was reading
books all the time, I wasworking on myself, I was
meditating.
That year really started tointroduce me to energy, work and
(06:15):
energy and just tuning intoyour emotions and your inner
guidance.
And how do you start to umfollow that?
So it really was.
That first year was verychallenging, but also very
magical at the same time, because it started to open my
eyes up to this whole differentway of living.
And so in that first month whenI started my own business and I
(06:38):
left that nine to five, one ofthe very first things I did was
I had my journal and I startedto ask myself, what is it that I
wanted?
Not what did society want forme, what did my family want for
me, what did this or the otherperson want for me?
I sat down and I really askedmyself what do I want?
What's the life I want?
(06:59):
What's the vision I have for mylife?
How do I want to be spending mydays?
Yada, yada, yada, and I reallystarted to map out a completely
different life than the one Iwas living in these journal
pages.
And I still have this journaland it's funny to go back and
read it, because the things Idreamed about were having my own
business and making a biggerimpact and really using my gifts
(07:22):
.
Living by the beach I love that.
I love living by water.
That lights me up so much.
Going on adventures, making newfriends, doing things outside
my comfort zone.
And so then, over the years, those things that I wrote about
in the journal started to slowlybut surely come true, one after
another.
So, a few years after I leftthat job and started my own
(07:44):
business, I also thentransformed my life and up and
moved from New York to Hawaii, where I had never been before, I
didn't know anyone.
It literally was a soul callingof.
I've always wanted to live bythe ocean, and then some
opportunities came up thatallowed me to do that, and so,
then, taking that leap of faithand listening to my soul in that
way opened me up to a whole newworld of experiences, and it
(08:08):
really just showed me how thereis so much more trying to happen
for you when you tune in toyour soul and you listen to that
voice within you.
And it just amused me every dayhow my life would unravel and
the different things that wouldhappen because I listened to
that voice within me.
And so, when I got back intomarketing, consulting and
(08:29):
starting my own business, one ofthe things that I learned was
how many slimy and manipulativemarketers there are out there,
and that's from someone who mybackground is in marketing.
I studied this, I know this, andthen, when I went to go market
my own business, I realized, whoa, there are so many
different shady pieces of advicewhen it comes to marketing out
(08:51):
there, and again I knew thatthere had to be a way to market
in a way that was authentic, ina way that was real, in a way
that was genuine and yet stillstrategic at the same time, so
that it worked and you were ableto promote your business.
And that's when this whole ideaof becoming a solopreneur was
born of.
There's got to be a way to leadwith the callings in your heart
(09:13):
and also market and promote thebusiness and create the life
and the business you want in away that is authentic and
aligned but still strategic atthe same time.
So that's what we're doingtoday is helping entrepreneurs
and helping I work with a lot ofjust purpose-driven leaders,
people in the wellness spacemarket with soul and with heart,
(09:36):
but still strategy at the sametime, to help them not only
create the life they want butalso the business they want and
ultimately make the impact thatthey want as well.
Right, they want and ultimatelymake the impact that they want
as well.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Right Cause many that
get the calling they're like,
okay, I've connected with thisenergy, now what?
And it gets so overwhelming andthey find you know that
culturally created self thatwe're supposed to get the nine
to five, right, we're supposedto go to college.
And I know when I was incollege, man, you had to have
that engagement ring senior year, right, and then it was to get
(10:08):
married and then everybody wasasking what the kids are, where
the kids are coming, and youhave all these things and then
you find yourself one day Idon't want to do this anymore.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
And you wake up and
you're like what's this life
that I created?
I know, even at a young age Ihad a variety of those moments
where I'd wake up and just belike what am I doing with my
life?
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Yeah, and to the
outsider they were envious, like
, oh, I wish I had your life andyou have it made, but meanwhile
you're breaking inside and soit's that you know the grass
isn't always as green greener onthe other side.
So yeah, now you talked aboutthis entrepreneurship, helping
those in the wellness.
But you, during your journey,as you spoke about you know you
(10:51):
journal which, by the way, Ihave my journal here.
I cannot tell you howinstrumental journaling is and
writing it down from paper, youknow, and pen, and getting it
written down, things I've put injournals have amazingly come
true.
So it's interesting to go backand read it.
So that's really important onthe journey.
I say for anybody as well.
(11:11):
But in your time, where you'rekind of trying to figure things
out, you were connected withReiki.
So with Reiki, did you findReiki or did it find you?
Speaker 2 (11:22):
Oh, that's a great
question.
Find Reiki or did it find you?
Oh, that's a great question.
I feel like it found me.
I feel like so.
When I left my full-time job andstarted my business, that was
really the start of me wantingto just greatly transform my
life, and so at that point, that's when I really started to
(11:44):
get introduced to more holisticmodalities.
Back in college, I had actuallytaken a class on meditation, and
so I started to actually getinto a routine of meditation, of
journaling, and even back whenI was in my nine to five, I
remember every morning because Idreaded going to work every day
(12:05):
, so every morning I would findsome type of spiritual podcast
or something that was inspiringand uplifting and I would play
that on my way to work just tohelp me get into a better
mindset.
And so once I really made thattransition and I think more so,
just made the decision that, okay, I want to live differently
and I'm going to create adifferent life for myself,
(12:27):
that's when all of these otherthings started to come to me, of
different books to read, or I'dgo do a Reiki session or just
like this other way of livingand being more in the flow and
being more in tune with yourintuition, your gut really
started to come my way, so Idefinitely feel like it found me
(12:48):
more than me finding it Suresure, and it's perfectly fine
just to have it as a part ofyour journey, as receiving the
energy, because it's like asmall piece of the puzzle that
as you stand back you're like, wow, this little piece turned
into this and now you're in abusiness where you're helping,
(13:09):
support others.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
So I've had
experiences with individuals
who've done Reiki and then theyleft the Reiki and they've gone
on to card readings and massagesand things like that.
So it's just a small littlepiece in your journey that can
help you kind of elevate to yourtrue purpose and by listening
to your intuition, which youteach your clients to do right,
(13:32):
you look ahead into that rightdirection.
So all these amazing thingsthat you are doing, the holistic
marketing, helping those getthat purpose-driven leading with
intention, which is reallyscary for some people here.
So, as you're out helpingothers, what are you finding is
a common misconception about thework that you do.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
I think the biggest
common misconception and
especially just knowing the typeof person I work with, which is
most likely a lot of youraudience a very just purpose
driven.
They want to make an impact, they want to use their gifts for
good and help other people withit.
One of the commonmisconceptions I find is that
they they equate marketing withslimy salesperson and they say I
(14:20):
want nothing to do with that, like that is so not my world,
which I agree with.
I never want to come across asa slimy salesperson, but
understanding that marketing inand of itself isn't slimy.
There's just people out therewho have taken it and misused it
or used it to manipulate peopleto get what they want or to
make more money or whatever itis.
(14:40):
But marketing in and of itselfdoesn't have to be slimy.
It doesn't have to feel grossto show up and promote your
gifts or promote your business.
You can do it in a way that isauthentic and aligned and comes
from a place of service insteadof feeling like, oh, I need to
show up and make a sale.
It can come from this place ofgood heartedness, of intention,
(15:02):
like you were saying, and feelauthentic and aligned instead of
forced and slimy.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Yeah, yeah.
And one of the reasons Icreated the podcast is, as I was
having my business and as itwas growing, someone reached out
to me to be on a radio show andthrew this pitch out.
And then it was like, wow, thisis amazing.
And at the end of that pitchshe said it'll be $1,500.
And I'm like what?
And you know it promised allthese different things and I
(15:29):
thought, wow, are people payingfor this?
And you know, so that was inthat moment that I decided, you
know what, I'm going to put apodcast together and then it
would be free for individuals tocome on who aren't that savvy
with technology or do not havethe time, or that, you know, put
this together and say, hey, Iwas on this podcast, listen, so
they're able to kind of send theaudio to potential clients and
(15:52):
put it on their website and so.
But I get a lot of people likeyou're not charging for this or
they're kind of leery becausethey've had those experiences
where they've shelled up themoney and not gotten the results
.
So, yeah, there's some of usout there that genuinely want to
be of service, out there tohelp individuals, because you
know, there's no competitionhere.
We're all supporting oneanother on this journey, and you
(16:15):
were just one of those helperson the path in the journey, here
to help those that want to takeit to that next level, for
whatever reason.
And usually you get right downto it, like what limits you from
transformation?
Usually tends to be that fear, right.
And like, oh, I can't listen tothat intuition.
What if it guides me the wrongway?
Right.
So what has been the biggestchallenge you have found in the
(16:40):
profession that you are now in?
Speaker 2 (16:43):
The biggest challenge
I found is probably believing
in the dream, to be honest withyou, like, especially if you are
in a world or community orwhatever you want to call it of
people who are living adifferent lifestyle, meaning
maybe they don't practice Reiki, maybe they haven't experienced
(17:03):
that yet, or maybe they're justvery traditional in how they
approach life or their routinesor whatever it is.
It can be really scary when youhave this idea and you have this
dream and yet other peoplearound you don't understand it
or believe in it or understandwhy you would go, do that thing.
Like that, I think can be thescariest part of the entire
(17:25):
journey, and so one of thethings that I've really learned
is that the dream you havewithin you is within you for a
reason, and there's a reason whyit's not in everyone else,
because they have their owndreams that are unique to them,
and so you have to trust thatyour dream is specifically
(17:45):
within you and being called toyou for a reason, and the more
that you can really believe inthat and trust that, and trust
that your intuition, your innerguidance, is trying to show you
the way and how to bring that tolife.
That was a really big gamechanger for me.
So instead of looking outsideof myself for validation in my
(18:06):
own dream, starting to believein it in myself and have faith
in myself and my dream andunderstand that it's in me for a
reason, now let's go bring itto life.
That really helped me a lotbecause otherwise I see it so
much in the clients that I workwith of just if there's a lack
of belief in themselves or a lotof just resistance and bringing
(18:29):
the dream to life, they'll getstuck in their own way in so
many different ways.
But when you really have thatbelief as well as the intention
of no, I'm I.
I have this dream, but Ibelieve it's possible and I'm
gonna go do what I can to bringit to life and show up in
service to other people.
There really is a magic thathappens when you make that
decision and that's been cool tosee unravel in my own life.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
Beautiful.
Now, if someone, for somereason, isn able to connect with
you or, you know, become yourclient, for whatever reason,
what are some qualities that youlook for?
And what should we look for insomeone who helps us with our
marketing, you know, to help usgrow our business?
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Too many people have
been burned by marketers, which
I think is also what givesmarketing this bad rep.
So number one thing and I wouldsay this comes down to when you
are choosing a mentor to workwith or a coach or a marketing
consultant or even a client inyour Reiki practice or whatever
it is is really that sense ofconnection, making sure that you
feel connected with that person.
That sense of connection, making sure that you feel
(19:39):
connected with that person andyou also feel that they
understand your mission and yourdream and who you uniquely are
and how you want to express that.
Because what I see as amarketer in this space is that
there's so many marketers outthere who just try to sell this
like cookie cutter approach andsay this is how you have to do
things, but now there are somany different ways that you
(20:00):
could market your business anddo it in a way that's aligned
and authentic to you that itdoesn't have to be a cookie
cutter approach.
And so one of the first thingsI do with my clients is get to
the soul of their business, meaning what is the vision that
you have, what's the missionthat you have?
Why do you want to bring thisdream to life.
What's getting in the way fromyou doing so?
(20:20):
Because understanding thatallows you to then start
creating the roadmap of whereyou want to go, and also
understanding how you want to dothat.
Meaning, if you feel reallypassionate about speaking maybe
it's speaking on stages orwhatever it is you can go be on
(20:41):
podcasts, you know, and marketyour business that way.
If you feel really passionateabout videos, and maybe video
editing or making cool editslike that, you know, you can go
start on YouTube or Instagram orwhatever it is.
If you feel really passionateabout writing, you can go start
a medium blog or a sub stack andstart writing about the things
you're passionate about writing.
You can go start a medium blogor a sub stack and start writing
about the things you'repassionate about.
So understanding that thereisn't a cookie cutter approach,
(21:03):
and so really look for someonewho understands your vision,
your mission and what you areuniquely good at, because once
they understand that, they canactually give you a marketing
approach that's going to feelaligned for you, versus just a
cookie cutter approach.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Okay, what would you
think would be a red flag?
Like, is there something thatyou watch on social media or
something that makes you cringe?
Like, oh, how could they dothis?
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
The red flags for me
and this might be an unpopular
marketing opinion, but the redflags for me are just following
the trends or what's hot rightnow, meaning, oh you know,
tiktok's going off, so I need togo start a TikTok account, and
now this app that I've neverheard of before is going off, so
I need to start this account.
Or people are making reelsabout this, which means I have
(21:49):
to do it the same way, like I.
One of the things I always tellclients when we first start is
rip up the rule book.
Like there's no way that youhave to do something.
So, for me, when I see amarketer who says, like you have
to do it this way or like thisis the only way to do it, that's
a red flag for me, because it'snot true.
Like there's there's anabundance of ways that you can
(22:09):
market your business or get yourmessage out there or share what
you're doing with other people.
It doesn't have to be just oneway.
Yeah, and maybe you're thetrailblazer, right, I mean the
trend that then goes off onInstagram or whatever.
It is.
Like you yeah, maybe I lovethat.
You said that.
Like maybe you are thetrailblazer and the first person
(22:31):
to do it, versus someone who'sfollowing the pack.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
Yeah, because I know
I did it too.
It's at Vanity Matrix.
We're like, oh, they're sosuccessful, but you know they're
putting like their best classesonline.
You know their best trainingsonline.
You're seeing this.
You're like, oh, how can I doall that?
Or you feel like you're notdoing enough.
That's my other one, too, whereI'm like, okay, relax.
Like it's not a race, right.
(22:55):
Like you feel like you alwayshave to be doing more.
So, even though you might be inthis field for a while, these
emotions come up as well.
So it's perfectly fine to stop, redirect and see.
You know someone like you thatcan help, kind of maybe move you
in a different direction thatyou're afraid to go in?
Speaker 2 (23:13):
Yeah, and one of the
questions that I love to leave
my clients with is just how canI serve?
So, every day, when, if you justthink to yourself, how can I
serve today, and maybe that dayall you could get to was the
Reiki session that you had thatreally helped that person but if
you always come back to thatquestion of how can I serve, and
(23:33):
then did I, did I serve today, that can really help start to
navigate that feeling of like,oh my gosh, there's so much to
do or I'm not posting enoughcontent.
I'm not doing enough of thisLike just show up from that
place of service and say toyourself how can I show up and
how can I serve today?
Is that sending an email tosomeone?
Is that posting something onsocial media?
Is that emailing yournewsletter?
(23:54):
Is that showing up and giving aReiki session?
And when you can really justkeep coming back to that place,
that I found really helps menavigate those weeds of oh, I'm
not doing enough or I need to bedoing this or that.
Just coming from that place ofservice and asking myself how
can I show up and serve todayreally helps to ground me.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
Sure.
So I feel sometimes in thislandscape it's kind of a healing
arts buffet right, and peopleare just trying to grab what
they can and see what fits.
I kind of find I call it likefind your Goldilocks, find your
just right.
So maybe someone has done acouple Reiki sessions or like
this isn't for me.
And then they're hearing this.
I'm like, yes, like thisamazing new word right, soul
(24:36):
entrepreneur, right, theholistic amazing new word right,
solo solopreneur, right theholistic marketeer, right All
these amazing things that you'redoing.
So they're listening to thisand like, yes, I think this is
for me, this is my just right.
What advice would you givesomebody who's wanting to enter
this type of profession?
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Yeah, great question,
I would say.
When it comes from a marketingangle and a marketing approach,
one of the easiest things youcan do in creating just your
first marketing strategy is whatI call the one-one-one strategy
, and that means figuring outwho is your one dream customer
that you want to help, what isone core problem that they're
(25:14):
facing and then what is oneoffer that you can put on the
table to help create a solutionto their problem.
So, one dream customer, oneproblem, one offer or solution.
And when you can really dialthat in and then just go and
take that and start sharing itwith people of saying, okay, I
want to work with this specificdemographic or this specific
person, here's their problemthey're facing and here's a
(25:37):
Reiki package offer that I haveto help you through that and
just keep rinse and repeatingthat.
That's going to take you a lotfurther than just chasing the
latest trending reel onInstagram or whatever it is,
because you have a solidfoundation of like okay, here's
who I'm trying to attract, here's who I want to work with,
I understand what they're goingthrough and here's how I'm going
(25:59):
to help them through that.
So if you're just gettingstarted in this world and you're
like Lexi, marketing liketotally scares me or I'm nervous
to do it.
If you can just start with thatand start to narrow down those
three things, that's going totake you a lot further than you
think.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
Right, and remember
it's steps.
It's a journey, it's not adestination, and it's okay to
stop and redirect.
So it makes it where it's likeokay, I can, this is attainable,
I have that.
Who's my dream, you know?
Client, write it down in yourjournal, right, this is what I
want, this is what I offer.
And also, too, you don't haveto reinvent the wheel.
Also, there's so many offeringsout there that you can tweak it
a little bit and make it yourown, and things like that.
So don't, it's hard, it's easyto get overwhelmed.
(26:39):
You're like, oh, but try not tolet that fear take it over.
I was just speaking withsomeone the other day where you
know there's no way around it.
You have to go through it,right?
It's like that kid's song, aBear Hunt, right, can't go over
it, can't go around it.
Right, you're going to have togo through the fear and this is
what helps you elevate to thatnext level.
And then, by the time you get alittle farther on the journey,
(27:01):
you're like, wow, look ateverything I've accomplished.
You know, when you started outin your journey, did you ever
imagine this is where you aretoday?
Never, never.
I thought you know my path wasa school teacher, married and a
mom, and this took me in a wholedifferent direction.
I never would have dreamed atfive years old, right Doing the
(27:24):
things that I've done.
So yeah, and both of us,intuition led, we kind of said,
nope, we're not going to followalong with our parents.
Society it's like, yeah, no,and you know, trailblazers.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Yeah, the leading
with the intuition piece has
been so pivotal in my life, likeit has taken me to your point,
places that I couldn't evenimagine were possible,
experiences that I couldn't evenimagine were possible, like new
people in my world that I neverknew existed before that.
And it really is such a gamechanger and my story, I know,
(28:03):
has like these very dramaticleaps of faith of I've moved
across the country and I justquit my job.
But it doesn't have to be bigor dramatic like that.
Like you can start listening toyour intuition, your soul, in
little ways, every day.
Of when it tells you to textthat friend you haven't talked
to in six months, like pursuethat and see what happens.
Or when it tells you to to takea different path to work in the
(28:26):
morning or whatever it is.
Like you can start to listen toit and practice that muscle in
little ways and even just doingthat, see where it leads you
versus when you don't listen.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
Yeah, and I mean it's
a practice too.
You have to, like you said, with the muscle to exercise it.
So even like play a little gameor something with the universe
right and you know like guesswhat's going to come on the
radio or something.
So like there's different thingsthat you can do and it'll grow.
I mean, I people will say aboutmy intuition and it's like you
(28:55):
know, this wasn't always likethat five years ago or 10 years
ago.
It's a daily practice andintention and things, and it'll
grow with time.
So, what books?
Speaker 2 (29:07):
do you recommend?
Oh my gosh, so many.
One of my classic go-tos is youAre a Badass by Jen Sincero.
I love that one.
Another great one is I Am byHoward Falco.
That one is beautiful and a lotof people don't know about that
one, so I feel like it's alittle bit of a hidden gem.
(29:28):
And then, when it comes to moremagic, marketing, business kind
of book, seven Figure Goddessby Elizabeth Purvis is just a
work of art.
It is so, so good and justbrings in the energetic
alignment and how to show up asthe version of you that you want
to be in life and business, andit's really beautiful.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Beautiful.
So out there helping otherslive life fully transforming.
Do you offer any classes, events and trainings?
Speaker 2 (30:01):
Yeah, I do a lot of
one-on-one work but here and
there I do virtual workshops andthat kind of thing and starting
to get into more classes toteach and everything like that.
But most of it is one-on-onework right now, with the
sporadic workshop that peoplecan attend as well.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Beautiful.
Where can we find you?
Are you online?
Where can we find you in person?
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Yeah, online mostly
at Lexi Godlewski, and my
website is LexiGodlewskicom, aswell, as my handle is Lexi
Godlewski on all major socialmedia platforms as well.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Beautiful.
All right, lexi.
This ends the first part of ourjourney.
I'm going to guide you into thesecond part, which are
questions from social media.
All right, here we go.
Number one what inspired you tofocus your attention on helping
entrepreneurs build their livesin business?
Speaker 2 (30:53):
Yeah, it for me
really came down to that initial
event that happened of mycoworker taking her own life.
That really caused me toquestion the decisions I was
making in my life and for mewhat came up was I did not want
to live a life of regret.
And there's a few pivotalmoments.
(31:14):
I remember back then of one ofthem being when I was at my nine
to five.
I remember sitting at my desk, unfulfilled, unhappy, did not
want to be there, and someonecame into our office that was at
least twice my age and youcould tell that she also did not
want to be there and did notlike her life and just was
(31:35):
miserable and unhappy.
And I just had this momentwhere I was sitting at my desk
and looking up at her and I justknew, if I stay here, that's
going to be me Just unhappy, unfulfilled, not enjoying my
life and the other piece of ittoo.
I remember talking to my momwhen I was going through all of
this and I remember saying toher I just feel and it sounds
(31:56):
dramatic now, but it felt truethen it just felt like my soul
was dying.
I just felt so not lit up, Ijust hated rolling out of bed
every day.
I just felt like I was in thismundane routine and so I really
wanted to light that spark thatwas in me again and see what's
(32:17):
really possible in life, Likehow good can it get?
You know, how far can I go withthis, how many people can I
impact?
And so it was really thatcalling to see how much I can
transform my life and then howmany people can I help transform
theirs as well.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
Beautiful.
Yeah, I remember it takes meback as you were speaking to
like I had this amazing teachingjob that other people would
love to have.
But I remember before worksitting in my car crying because
I didn't want to go into work, you know.
And then we've all probablyworked alongside someone who's
very grouchy and snappy and justa miserable, and you can feel
(32:58):
it when they come into the room, you know that like, wow, like
they need to find something elsebecause they're just not happy
people.
So you know, and that's atelltale sign right there that
you're not following yourpassion, because it won't feel
like work.
Right, the work I'm doing it'slike wow, like it didn't feel
like work at all right.
Yeah, it's so fun.
It's like wow, like it didn'tfeel like work at all right.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
Yeah, it's so fun and
it feels like play again, like
I get to be in and just play andyou get excited by it.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
But yeah, that job.
I was just sitting there andI'm like I don't want to go and
I remember talking on the phonewith my husband, I'm like I just
don't want to be here and thenI left that job and I thought it
was like it was too many hours, you know.
So I cut it down to you know, like I think I'm gonna like a
job is 4.75 to teach, and eventhat was it.
(33:47):
I says.
You know what I don't think I'msupposed to be here, you know,
and it's having that intuition, getting over that fear, because
that was a steady kind of incomewhere, when you jump and that
might be another fear for ourlisteners you know Reiki and I
also do yoga as well.
That's not always a consistentthing.
How do you get over that fearas well with, with that money
(34:09):
coming in, if you have that nineto five and having the benefits
and having all those things?
But I mean, if you trust thatintuition and things all end up
working out the way they aresupposed to.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
Yeah, and one of the
things too.
I'll just add to that realquick, because I think this is
really important for yourlisteners to hear.
This is actually what my emailnewsletter for this week is
about, and it's about when we'rerecording this.
Right now, I'm not a big TaylorSwift fan, or I wouldn't
consider myself a Swifty, butyou know, recently, as of when
(34:41):
we're recording this, sheannounced that there's going to
be a new album and it made methink about how people like that
, who we see have accomplishedmassive amounts of success.
I think about what if she neverbelieved in herself?
You know what?
If she thought, better, go geta full-time job, who am I to
(35:01):
think I could become a verysuccessful singer?
You know, like, if she gotcaught up in so many of the
stories and so many of thelimitations that I see so many
soul entrepreneurs in of?
Like, who am I to go followthis dream?
Who am I to think I can be aworld renowned singer?
Who am I to think that I can gobe a Reiki practitioner,
whatever it is?
(35:21):
What if the people that you lookup to, the ones who have made
such an influential impact, whohave had so much success, what
if they never believed in theirdream and never believed in
themselves.
But because they have.
Look at the music we have, lookat the movies we have, look at
the art we have.
And so I just want to encouragelisteners to think about
(35:42):
themselves the same way of you, know what is actually possible
when you believe in yourself, and what if there are people out
there who are waiting for yourwork, waiting for your magic,
waiting for your art to impacttheir life as well.
But if you don't believe inyourself, then you're depriving
them from being able to receivethat.
So I just wanted to leave thattwo cents with your audience as
(36:02):
well.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
Yeah, yeah, and it's
just one person's opinion, you
know.
I mean one teacher, oneparent's perception versus, you
know, the whole world, right?
I mean it's just amazing that,um, having a little bit of faith
, that taking that one step, pushing through the fear and
trying.
So I mean, when you would getto the end of our journey in
(36:23):
life, right, would you want tolive with that regret?
Or you know what?
I gave it a try and if youfailed, you fail, but maybe you
made it right.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
Yep, totally, and
that's one of the things that I
talk about in my TEDx talk thatI gave is that there was a woman
named Bronnie Ware and shewrote a book called the Top Five
Regrets of the Dying and thetop regret.
So she worked in this nursinghome and she would ask people,
looking back on your life, whatare the things that you regret?
(36:54):
And the number one regret isthat they wish they had lived a
life true to themselves versuswhat other people wanted for
them.
And that has been a guidinglight for me of just wanting to
not live with regret at the endof my life and seeing.
You know when I go for it, whenI listen to that calling what's
actually possible.
And it has like.
Granted, there's been highs andlows on the journey, of course,
(37:15):
but overall, like the placesit's brought me to and the
experiences I've had have justbeen bigger and better than I
could have ever imagined.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
Beautiful.
That's why you're a transformer.
So number two how instrumentalhas your intuition been in your
life?
Speaker 2 (37:34):
One hundred and ten
thousand percent, like so
instrumental.
And I would say it's kind ofthis like hidden superpower that
we all have, that that we'rejust not taught growing up how
to use.
Or I know I wasn't taughtgrowing up how to use.
You know I wasn't taught tolisten to my intuition.
(37:54):
Growing up I was taught to makethe logical choice and weigh
the pros and cons and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah and so just
understanding, like we talkedabout that.
It's a muscle like anythingelse, and the more you start to
practice and listen to it, themore you'll be able to hear the
difference between the voice inyour head and what your mind's
trying to tell you and the voicein your heart and where your
(38:16):
heart's trying to lead you.
And the more you start to tunein and listen to that voice in
your heart and just follow it,even when you don't know quite
exactly where it's taking youyet, it'll bring you places
bigger and better than you couldhave even imagined.
Speaker 1 (38:30):
Yeah, and the other
thing I like to say with this is
have fun with it Like thischild.
Every time it comes true I'mlike I mean it was a surprise,
and and again it took me a while.
I mean Surprise, and and againit took me a while.
I mean years.
Because people are like how doyou do this?
It just pops into your head.
And I had a friend that wasvisiting somewhere, originally
from Pittsburgh, and I too movedacross the country to Texas and
(38:53):
my friend came up to visit andbecause I, you know, exercise
that intuition muscle.
I was going to an event and Isaid she's coming along with me.
I said I just kind of want towarn you that this place I was
going to an event and I saidshe's coming along with me.
I said I just kind of want towarn you that this place I'm
going to it was a senior center.
There might be times wherethere's like two ambulances and
like a fire truck or somethingand it didn't happen often and
(39:14):
we pull up and we're sittingthere and all of a sudden we
hear here comes one ambulance, then the second and then the
fire truck.
How did you do that?
And I was like blows your mind.
And then we were together in astore and I went to approach
(39:37):
something and I said I don'tknow why that number came in.
I'm like, oh, I bet you that'slike $40.
And then over the PA system, hey, you can buy this now just
for $40.
She's like how did you do that?
Speaker 2 (39:49):
And I'm like you just
have to listen.
You just have to listen andtune into it and it's, it's
always there.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:58):
And it's just like
that radio, that frequency.
You have to kind of move thedial a little bit, but it'll
come to that if you keeppracticing with it.
But again, that journal writing, that mindful intention, what
do you want?
And you know, I've had peoplethat have said, well, I don't
know what I want.
Well, put your highest gooduntil you figure it out right,
the best for all.
(40:18):
It doesn't have to be ascomplicated.
We tend to you tend to make itso complicated and then we get
into our own head and it's justthe simplicity of, like you know
what, I just trust the process,Like, what do you have for me,
universe, I'm ready.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
Yeah, and I fully
believe too.
I say this to all my clientsand my friends whenever they say
that response of I don't know,I always mind them too, Like
that is your mind telling you.
I don't know.
I always mind them too, likethat is your mind telling you, I
don't know either, because it'sscared of saying the real thing
that you know you want oryou're not ready for yet, or
whatever it is.
But your heart always knows italways knows what you want.
(40:55):
It always knows the next step totake.
So that's always a sign for methat when someone says I don't
know that they're in their headversus listening to their heart.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
Yeah, and even
another clue too, if you're not
sure.
You're like, oh, I don't knowwhat to do, as you're scrolling
and you see something, and yousee, like, say, I'm in the yoga
business and I see someone elseput a class together and I get a
little little bit of jealousy.
I'm like, oh, I think I want todo that too.
Yeah, and then go in thatdirection.
So that's another indicator.
(41:25):
Is something gets you a littlejealous, a little bit angry?
That could be something thatdeep down inside you that you'd
want to do as well.
So that's another indicator outthere in your journey.
