The spiritual toolbox is vast and varied, with each modality offering unique ways to connect with higher guidance. In this illuminating conversation, intuitive tarot reader Sarah Tai reveals how Reiki energy work became a foundational element of her spiritual journey and professional practice.

Though initially skeptical about energy healing, Sarah's first Reiki experience shifted something inside her that couldn't be explained through conventional understanding. "She knew things about me that she shouldn't have known," Sarah recalls of her Reiki teacher, whose calming presence and impeccable integrity drew her to pursue Level One training. While she hasn't yet felt called to advance beyond this initial level, this foundation in energy work transformed her understanding of spiritual practices.

Sarah dismantles common misconceptions about tarot with refreshing clarity. "It's just paper. It's all about the intention behind it," she explains, emphasizing that tarot has nothing to do with devil worship or communicating with spirits. She challenges the notion of "good" and "bad" cards, asserting that "all cards are medicine" - even intimidating ones like the Devil card, which represents breaking cycles and toxic patterns.

Perhaps most compelling is Sarah's personal story of how tarot guided her through leaving a domestic violence marriage. After a mystical encounter with a raven - symbolically connected to the Death card - she performed a reading that clearly pointed toward transformation through departure. Years later, during the pandemic's uncertainty, she heard a clear message to pursue tarot professionally, discovering her true calling.

For spiritual practitioners at any level, Sarah offers wisdom about trusting intuitive guidance while maintaining impeccable integrity. She never tells clients what to do, instead presenting energetic information so they can exercise their free will. "It's their journey, it's their decision," she emphasizes, demonstrating how spiritual guidance can empower rather than dictate.

Through her podcast, Spirit Journey Collective, and various services including one-on-one readings and the Envy Alignment Project, Sarah continues sharing her gifts while honoring both Reiki principles and intuitive tarot practices. Her journey reminds us that when we combine different spiritual modalities with intention and integrity, we create powerful channels for transformation.

it really was an invitation forme to kind of clear my schedule
for a little bit and reallydecide what lights me up, what
is my passion?
And I know my next guest herehas a passion.

Welcome to Sarah Yay.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Thank you for having me, Tracy.
I'm so happy to be hereWonderful.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
So let's begin this passionate journey that we both
love.
Tarot cards channeling all thewonderful things.
So tell us a little bit aboutyourself.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Yeah, so my name is Sarah Tai and that was such a
beautiful introduction.
I've been reading tarot justsince high school, so that's
just been a passion I've had onthe side for several years, but
I've been doing itprofessionally for about four
and a half years and ever sinceI've been called into it
professionally because I didn'tchoose this, it chose me.
It has changed my life in thebest way, and it's a combination

(03:05):
of I love seeing how it impactsothers and helping others, but
it also fulfills me in a waythat I can't explain either.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Right, right, beautiful.
Now our journey.
Here we talk a little bit aboutReiki, and it's quite
interesting.
You know, reiki is kind of awonderful stress reducing
modality.
Some just come to level one andthey feel that's enough.
Some have the calling to go allthe way to master, teacher and
teach and, in your case, levelone, which is absolutely

(03:36):
important because that's thegift, not only to yourself but
to others and really working onyourself.
So when did Reiki come intoyour life?
Did you find it or did it findyou?

Speaker 3 (03:48):
It definitely found me.
It was recommended to me by afriend at the time and it's
funny because I was superskeptical and this was even
before I was readingprofessionally with Tarot, so
for me it sounded a little bittoo woo-woo.
And then I experienced it forthe first time.
I was encouraged to check out acertain teacher, and I did, and

(04:08):
it really like she knew thingsabout me that she shouldn't have
known first off, and then Ifelt something shift that I
couldn't explain.
So it was enough of a curiosityto make me want to go to the
class, and I may go further.
I haven't felt called yet to gofurther beyond the Reiki one,
but everything I've learned fromwhen I do get sessions, versus

(04:28):
in that class it really openedmy eyes to energy is real, which
of course, now I know that as atarot reader, as a professional
tarot reader, I know that now.
But before I was readingprofessionally I didn't really
understand how important ourenergy cleansing was and how
much our energy impacted us andthings like that our energy
cleansing was and how much ourenergy impacted us and things
like that.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Right, beautiful, beautiful and I love how you
said, when you're called, it'snot forced, it honors free will.
You know, you got a littletaste of it and you're weaving
it in or going to other Reikipractitioners to help level up
and all of that could possiblybe a part of your journey into
leading you where you are todayand having those tools in that
energetic toolbox.
So, as you've gone through thisjourney here tarot reading,

(05:15):
channeling what are some of themisconceptions and we know
misconceptions there are aboutReiki, but the work that you do,
what are some of themisconceptions that you hear
from people or once they hear oh, you're a tarot reader?

Speaker 3 (05:31):
There are definitely a few.
There's a lot of stigma stillaround it, and I feel like so.
One of the first ones is mostpeople seem to think it has
something to do with, like, devil worship, or even compare
it to Ouija boards, which I findsuper fascinating, because
they're not the same at all.
I mean, you can use tarot toreach across the spirits, but
that's not the purpose of it.
That's not the reason it wascreated.

(05:53):
So that's the first one is thatit's not—I like to say it's
just paper.
It's all about the intentionbehind it, and so the intention
behind using the cards is whatwill fuel it, and so the way
that I read it's all in love andlight, it's all about
connecting with your higherpower, and I do see myself as
that channel and vessel.
That's just kind of thein-between right, but yeah, it's

(06:15):
not what Hollywood makes it outto be first and foremost.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
I think most people have.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Just they have this belief that there are good and
bad cards and there's not.
I really subscribe to thebelief that all cards are
medicine, even the ones that arequote scary.
But I don't see any of them asscary.
They're all here for yourhighest good.
So even like, for instance, thedevil, that one comes off
pretty heavy, just right off thebat, right, Just its name.
But that one is all aboutbreaking cycles.
It's about breaking addiction, breaking toxic behaviors,

(06:47):
getting away from toxic peopleor things.
It's realizing what isn'tserving you and what's holding
you back.
And then you're at a crossroadsto do something different and
uncomfortable but worth it.
And so, yes, it looks scary, itsounds scary, but it's actually
all for your growth.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Right, I know like when you see the death card,
you're like, oh no, who's gonna?
And that's you know.
We take it with this human mind, through our experiences, you
know, because we're interpretingit through what we've been
through, and it could meansomething completely different.
I have a good friend and we goback and forth and we do card
readings for each other and evenI found her like, is it this,
is it this?
I'm like you remember, this isa snapshot, you know, we don't

(07:31):
know the whole story, and thensomething will happen.
And then she's like, aha, itmakes sense now, right.
So keep an open mind with that.
It doesn't mean like your lovedone's going to drop dead.
It could be something like isending, whether a job, or you
know you're going to be movingsomewhere else.
So, yeah, keep it with an openmind.
So, as you're out and you'redoing this work, many people

(07:54):
often come to you know, anintuitive tarot reader, because
things are going on, they needguidance, they need to be
grounded, they need to beempowered.
And as you're helping them withtheir challenges, as you stand
here in this journey, lookingback, what has been the biggest
challenge you faced in your ownprofession?

Speaker 3 (08:14):
That's a really great question.
I think the biggest challenge Ihad was trusting myself,
because when I first came intothis work again, I was called
into it and I had a lot ofquestions on whether or not it
was sustainable, whether or notit was something that was.
I believed in it because by thetime I came into it and was
called professionally, I hadbeen reading for myself for a

(08:36):
long while and I trusted thecards myself.
But when I was being called todo it professionally, I was like
, well, will this work foreveryone else too?
Like, can I be that?
And I didn't quite understandthat I was a channel yet either
when I first started.
So it took a little bit of while.
It took a while of justconsistent validation and
messaging back of what peoplewere getting from my readings.
That made me go okay, okay, okay, now I can start trusting

(08:59):
and leaning into this, whichallowed me to open up and trust
myself more.
And it went more from likereading, more like by the book,
to intuitively, because Istarted like, for instance,
there are times where cards I'mreading for someone and a card
will shift its meaning.
Usually it's just slightly, butI'll be called to share a
different aspect of it that Inormally wouldn't, and the first
few times that happened itfreaked me out because I didn't

(09:22):
know what was happening and so Iwould hold back from doing that
because I'm like no, I want tobe in an integrity and it feels
wrong to share something thatyou know I wouldn't normally.
But then it wouldn't land.
So I started kind ofexperimenting with it and going
with it, and then it would landbetter.
Or I would say phrases on acard that I normally wouldn't
say, but it's a phrase thatthey're familiar with.

(09:42):
That's like where thechanneling part comes in.
So it took.
It was my.
My biggest challenge waslearning to trust myself, trust
my intuition, trust what'scoming through, and I have just
learned throughout the yearsthat I am literally just the
middleman, right, I'm just thevessel, and so whatever comes
through me is what's meant to,and I just, I just.
I like to say that when I do areading, I just start talking

(10:05):
and I just it's like the bestway to just let it flow.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
But I had to learn to trust myself, right, I know
when I was doing this, likethings would, just as you
probably do with you, pop intothe head and it just seems so
crazy Like this.
This might sound crazy when I'mtelling you this, but don't you
just amaze.
It's amazing with thischildlike wonder when you get
the feedback that, like, yes, that happened or yes, they can

(10:29):
validate that.
And I don't necessarily want tokind of lump it with ego, but
it's really just, it just blowsme away Like oh, my goodness,
like how did that happen?
And then that helps you buildyour confidence.
When you have that validationthat says, okay, I'm not making
this up, I don't have this vividimagination, right.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Yeah, describing it to a child wonder is a really
great way to do it, becausethat's what happens.
It's not like, oh, I'm so great.
It's not like that, it's morelike, oh my gosh, that's so cool
.
It's like witnessing real life.
Magic is really what it feelslike.
And when you see it like fromlike a child's eyes, it's not
about like you, it's about theexperience and like.

(11:09):
I had this really fun experiencewhere I did a bridal shower and
it was so last minute.
It was just like they called meliterally two hours and they're
like hey, can you be here today?
I was like, okay, and so I mean, every single reading was
amazing.
Everyone was really receptiveand it was like a group reading,
so everyone was sitting in oneveryone's reading.
And then I sat with this onewoman who was very stoic, like

(11:32):
no, like, was giving me nothing.
I had no idea if anything Isaid made any sense, and I don't
need tells by any means.
I just like again, I just starttalking and I just trust it
helps to get something back.
But if I don't, you know, I'mjust sharing what's coming
through, and so that's where Iwas at and so I was getting like
nothing as far as I knew, I wasway off, but I was still
continuing.

(11:52):
And then I kept hearing in mymind the word checklists,
checklists, checklists,checklists.
And I believe her question wassomething along the lines of
like finding her purpose.
And so this was about like whatwas holding her back from
finding her purpose.
And after a while I found waslike why do I keep hearing the
word checklist?
So I finally said I'm so sorry,I don't know why, but I keep

(12:14):
hearing the word checklist.
And like the whole room brokeout in a laughter.
She finally broke and she'slike oh my gosh, me checklists,
you know, and the whole thing, alot of what came through was
like she was relying so much, she was so busy first of all,
and then she was relying so muchon her checklist there was no
space for her to even look forher purpose because she was
overwhelmed.
But yeah, it was like it madeno sense to me, but it was what
she needed to like break open,if that makes sense.

(12:36):
So it's just, it's random whatcomes through.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Right, right.
So when you took that Reikitraining and you felt like you
were called to do that, what aresome of the qualities that you
saw in that particular teacher,or the certain qualities that
you see or are called to in aReiki practitioner?

Speaker 3 (12:59):
So what amazed me about her was how just her
energy was so calming.
That was like right off the bat.
Her energy, I mean it's justlike walking into, like a breath
of fresh air.
And so it was just every time Iwas around her I felt calm, I
felt safe, I felt like and itwas not just because I'm also I

(13:19):
have very high energy and I'm alittle bit ADHD anxiety, so for
me it's really hard to just becalm and still and when I was,
whenever I was in her presence,I just felt this calmness watch
over me.
And so I think there's a partof me that you know it was like
I want that calmness.
You know there's like I want toexperience that.
But then also, you know, just, she was just so full of

(13:40):
integrity.
I really, you know, loved just.
I know in Reiki in general, youknow it's, it's there is a lot
of teaching of integrity and notoverstepping and respecting
boundaries and things like that.
But it was just so nice to seeit like, see the um, the
integrity of living, that youknow what I mean.
It's one thing to say it andshare it.
It's another thing to likeliterally embody it.

(14:01):
And so for me it was.
It was a combination ofintegrity and then just this her
energy was just so refreshing.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Beautiful.
I love that.
It was many people look at likecredentials, things like that,
but just connecting with herenergy.
So knowing that there is morethan just you having that
certificate right, that you haveto feel what you said safe,
right, comfortable, resonate, Imean and sometimes it just takes
a photograph, like yeah, that'smy person, I'm really called to

(14:29):
that person and I want them tobe my teacher.
So beautiful, thank you forsharing that.
So what advice would you givesomeone who's just entering this
profession?
They have been doing this.
They want to be an intuitivereader, whether they want to
start a podcast, the things thatyou have experienced and have
achieved.
What advice would you give them?

Speaker 3 (14:51):
I love that question.
So I mean, I think there's acouple of things Like one.
You have to have some kind of abasis understanding.
So take some kind of a courseis what I'd recommend.
I don't necessarily believe youhave to take one with a
certificate, because I thinkthat that's kind of more of a
personal thing.
The course that I took did nothave a certificate because the
teacher didn't believe in that.
So I wouldn't say, take it forthe certificate per se, but take

(15:15):
it to learn the cards, Becauseyou want to first of all be able
to read without having to useyour book.
You know, use your book orGoogle, right?
You want to be able to alreadyhave the cards down and be able
to get a picture of, like, whatyou're going to be reading.
So, definitely having a basisunderstanding and so, like I
like to kind of say baseline, because be open to the
interpretations that might comethrough too, that intuitive

(15:38):
piece and I would even say thisis, you know, personal
preference.
But I would also say, if you'regoing to do this professionally
, there has to be a level ofintegrity.
That's also in there.
So some of the like for me.
For me, my integrity is in thefact that I am completely like.
I've learned throughout myjourney that it's.

(15:58):
I believe that there is ahigher power that's guiding the
reading, and so it's not comingfrom me, it's coming from me
being the vessel.
And so when you're able totrust in some kind of a higher
power, whatever that looks likefor you because I don't believe
in, like denomination oranything like that but being
able to surrender and trust yourhigher guidance, so that way
you know it's not just you,You're not the interpreter.

(16:20):
I mean you're the interpreterbut you're not the all-knowing,
if that makes sense.
So having that sense ofhumbleness, and then I'd also
say another thing I'd reallyhighly recommend is learning
what integrity looks like foryou as far as, like where the
guidance is going to come, likethe things you're going to guide
, Because, like for me, I willnever tell someone what to do.

(16:40):
Like the things you're going toguide, Because, like for me, I
will never tell someone what todo ever.
And I really think that allreaders should kind of follow
that same ideology.
But just because I'm a bigbeliever in personal
accountability and in the factthat we all make our own
decisions, so I'm really reallyreally careful with my and so I
wouldn't.
This is what I would recommendto you is is really watch how

(17:02):
you share things, so like, if Isee something with a, with a
push in a certain direction,I'll say things like there's an
invitation here for you, this iswhat you're being called into.
But I never say this is what youshould do.
You know, even when I do likedecision spreads where it's
should I do A or should I do BI'll tell them the energy around
A and I'll tell them the energyaround B so that way they can

(17:24):
make the decision and what feelsright for them based off of
that, Because I could tell themI mean, even if there is a more
ideal situation, which sometimesthere is, sometimes it's should
I leave or should I stay in atoxic relationship and it's
really obvious they should leavethey might still choose to stay
, and it's not my place to tellthem otherwise, because it's
their journey, it's theirdecision yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Putting judgment aside yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
Exactly, yes, it's a great way to put it.
So, yes, being able to removejudgment and bias is a big one,
and it's not easy, not easy.
So I would say that if you wantto do this professionally, you
have to find that line ofintegrity for you and learn how
to literally be the channel andnot come in with your own
perceived ideas, because it'snot.

(18:08):
The reading isn't for you, it'sfor them.
And we're another way that Iheard it interpreted too by
another really well-known reader.
She said that you know, thecards are meant to be
interpreted a certain waythrough you, because if you go
to different readers, they mightsee the same message, but
they're going to share itslightly different because of
the way that they're viewing itwith their lens.

(18:31):
So you need to like understandthat there's like a manipulation
of higher power happening andit's for the higher person's
good.
So you have to like letyourself share what comes
through, even if there's a partof you going.
I don't want to share it likethis, but if that's what you're
being called to do, that'sprobably how they need to hear
it.
So I guess that's where thatintegrity non-judgment, non-bias
it comes from, and so I feellike that is huge.

(18:54):
If you're into thisprofessionally, if you're doing
it on your own, you want to justwatch your own biases, because
sometimes we see what we want tosee and not what's actually in
front of us, you know.
So there's that.
But if you want to do thisprofessionally, I would really
just highly stress the integritypiece.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Right and knowing you know that it is a snapshot in
time, that it can be changedreally up to you with free will.
You know, I often tell people, like you know, think of the
movie Back to the Future byMarty McFly changing one thing
it changes as he's looking atthe picture and you see it
slowly disappearing.
You can choose Do nothing, thisis the possibility of an ending

(19:31):
, but you always have the powerto say no with that with that.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Yes, another great one.
Another great analogy with thatsame idea is the Christmas
carol, when you're looking atthe ghost of Christmas feature.
That's the projected future asof the time we start the movie,
right, but of course he comesback and he changes his entire
life.
So he probably didn't die alonein a grave after he came back
and changed his life, but that'swhere he was projected.
So, yeah, it's exactly.
What I'll say too is that it'sthe future.
There's so many timelines.
It's just the projection as ofright now.

(20:02):
If you like it, great, keepdoing what you're doing.
If you really don't like what'slaying on the table, then
there's always an invitation andguidance to change it, yeah,
and the key word is invitation.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Your choice, right, yes, so what?

Speaker 3 (20:15):
books do you recommend?
Oh, great question.
Okay, so if you're wanting todo events, I would definitely
recommend have Tara Will Party.
And oh, who's that?
Oh, my gosh, I forgot her name.
Okay, it's called have TaraWill Party.
If you go on my podcast, Iactually interviewed her, so

(20:37):
she's wonderful.
I can't remember her name.
I feel so bad.
But she really breaks it downon how to do events and like the
to do's, the not to do's, andso, especially if you want to do
this professionally, events area great, lucrative way to get
in front of a lot of people.
Great practice.
It's also really fun.
I love sitting with people wholiterally have never done a
tarot reading before and I getto be their first experience,

(20:58):
which is so fun as far as likeother done a tarot reading
before, and I get to be theirfirst experience, which is so
fun as far as like other books,I think, for me because of the
way that I learned.
It was either through the courseor just like reading the
booklets that come with thetarot decks.
So I mean, I would say, if youwant to, just professionally,
another thing I would recommendis read both the booklets of

(21:19):
your deck and, like Google, thecards individually, because
there's so many different—eachcard has so many different
interpretations that you want tofind which one speaks most to
you that way for your baselineand then also have an
understanding of like the othermeanings.
But that way you get like thebroader spectrum, because one,
you know, one booklet might havea slightly different

(21:41):
interpretation than Google oranother booklet.
So just kind of havingdifferent options to read in
that.
But yeah, as far as just booksin general, that's, I don't, I'd
just say read the one thatcomes with your deck.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
Sure, and especially when it's been a passion, you
know, the book ends up findingyou.
I mean, I felt like I was justso thirsty for that information.
I was just grabbing everything.
So I'm sure in your spiritualjourney, you know, you were just
grabbing and reading and justtaking it all in and then
looking back it probably seemslike a blur, but it's all in

(22:14):
there.
It's all in there marinated.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Right, Do you offer any classes, events or trainings
?
Right, right, I do.
I mean, I'll do collectiveratings.
So this is more like on mypodcast or on like Instagram or
TikTok.
I'll do like little readingshere and there.
So I do offerings in that way.
Not quite teaching yet.
So yeah, not quite there.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
That's okay, that's okay.
Where can we find you if wewant to get in touch with you?

Speaker 3 (22:56):
Yeah, so my website is wwwspiritjourneycollectivecom
.
You'll find basicallyeverything on there between my
podcast, my social media, myservices, things like that.
I offer one-on-one sessions.
I also offer email readings, and those ones are really great
if you want to get a taste butyou don't want to fully commit,
you just want to see what I cando.
The email readings are alsolike, they're just easy to if

(23:20):
you don't have the time.
I get a lot of people who arelike I don't have time to sit
with you, but I want a reading,and so you'll get about 15 to 20
minutes of a voice recordedreading from me.
The one-on-one sessions areover Zoom, and then I also do
it's called the Envy AlignmentProject, and so it's a
combination.
It's almost a combination oftarot and coaching.
So we do a tarot reading andthen we work through actionable

(23:43):
steps to help you get through ablock, get to where you want to
go, and then you get a PDFpacket from me with those
actionable steps, journalprompts, things like that.
So there's that as well.
And then, as you mentioned, Ialso do events.
So for those that are local,I've done corporate weddings,
you know, parties etc.
And then I also have a podcastas well, which Tracy was a guest

(24:04):
a few months ago, so she's alsoon there too.
It's called Spirit JourneyCollective as well.
I just kind of kept all thenames the same and that one.
It's a combination.
I do interviews with lovelypeople who feel like they found
their purpose, such as Tracy, and then the other half of my
podcast.
I just started a new seriescalled Spotlight and I do
featured readings for those thatwant to kind of listen in and

(24:26):
see what a reading looks likefor me, or if you're interested
in being a featured guest, youcould also apply for that as
well, and that's free.
But yeah, that's how you canfind me.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
Beautiful and where are you located?
If someone's listening to thisand like, oh, I want to, I want
to connect with her in person.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
Yeah, so I'm in Southern California, um, I'm, so
I'm like not too about 40minutes from LA, so yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Perfect.
Well, that ends the first partof our journey.
I'm going to guide you into thesecond part, which are
questions from listeners andfrom Reiki students.
So number one when did youdiscover you were an intuitive
tarot reader?

Speaker 3 (25:05):
It's a great question .
So I've known for myself for agood while.
I think that that's kind of thebeginning and I would love to
just kind of segue a little bitinto my story, into this,
because it's I don't know, it'sso cool, especially like the
more I think back on it.
So about eight years ago or so,I was in like a domestic

(25:28):
violence marriage and I wasn'tsure if I should stay or go.
I had a one-year-oldstayed-at-home mom really
struggling, and it was reallythe first time that I turned to
my tarot deck for real guidance.
I think before that it wasalways just kind of fun.
I always had it, I'd pull cards, you know, but I never really
realized that there was trueguidance to it and so I really
just was like you know what?
Should I stay or should I go?

(25:48):
You know the age-old questionand I'll never forget.
Oh and sorry, let me backtrackjust a little bit.
Before I pulled my card, my deck, out, I got woken up.
My then-husband had gone towork.
I got woken up to my dogs goingballistic at my back patio,
which is important because I wason the second floor of my

(26:09):
apartment building and I'm likewhat are they barking at.
There was a raven sitting on mybalcony and it was completely
unbothered by my dogs, and oneof them was a 50-pound Springer
Spaniel, totally denying it wasunbothered by my dogs and one of
them was a 50-pound SpringerSpaniel Totally did not even
seem bothered and we, like, madeeye contact for I don't know,
maybe 30 seconds it felt likelonger, but it was the weirdest
experience.
So of course I Googled well, what does it mean to see a raven

(26:30):
?
And I found out ravens, reallyclosely, are interpreted to the
death card in tarot, which isall about change and new
beginnings and moving on and allthat stuff.
So I did the should I stay orshould I go?
If I stayed, I pulled the devil, which basically told me that
the cycle was continuing, itwasn't going to get better.
And then, if I left, I pulledthe death card, which perfectly

(26:53):
correlated with that raven.
And so that was the beginningof me using my deck for personal
big decisions, and it wasalways super, super consistent,
and so that was just somethingthat I turned to for myself.
And then fast forward to COVIDtimes and I had just started.
I'd done my Reiki class and Ijust started my spiritual

(27:15):
awakening and I was asking well, what's my purpose?
Because I was hearing all thesepodcasts about people finding
their purpose and I wanted oneof those.
So it was.
It was Tarot that kept comingto me and it was Tarot that I
kept saying, no, I'm not doingthat.
And so I just was veryresistant to it.

(27:37):
And then I lost one of mysources of income very
unexpectedly and I was panicking.
I was trying to trust theprocess.
I was just learning this ideathat things happen for you, not
to you.
So it was just in that likepanic, calm, panic, calm kind of
energy.
And then I just heard Claire'sDay go work on your business.
And I just knew exactly whatthat meant.
It meant go work on my tarot, and so that was like the call

(28:01):
into it.
But then, when I was thinkingabout it, I was kind of playing
with the idea.
I actually like posted on mysocial media that I was
considering being a reader and Ijust asked anyone who was
interested in letting me likepractice on them considering
being a reader, and I just askedanyone who was interested in
letting me practice on them.
And so this is just strictlyfor feedback and I had two
different people.
Well, first of all, everyonetold me how much my readings

(28:22):
resonated, so that blew me away.
But then I had two differentpeople who came to me and said,
hey, what's your Venmo?
I want to send you some moneybecause that was so relevant for
me and that blew my mind.
But that just kind of made merealize like, oh my gosh,
there's something really here.
And then it was through, like Isaid, trial and error,
validation, trusting the process, that I started realizing like,

(28:42):
okay, there's really, I reallyhave a gift here, and not just
that.
But I just felt like I found apiece of myself that I didn't
know was missing.
So, yeah, I feel like it wasjust the journey, it was the
journey into it.
And then once I said, yes, itwas watching it unfold and
watching the impact it wasmaking on others.
Beautiful, that purpose andpassion Beautiful.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
I love it.
Number two what inspired you tocreate a podcast?
The Spirit Journey Collective.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
Oh, that's a great question.
Okay, so that's another onethat I was called into.
I mean, I had been, you know, like there were times where I'm
like it'd be nice to start apodcast, but I didn't really
know how to and I wasn't reallylike passionate about the idea
yet.
It wasn't like something I waslike called into.
So this one was one day I wasactually waiting to go work, do

(29:33):
a tarot event at a university, but there was just like a bunch
of red tape, like the departmentwho wanted me, but then they
had to like get me in theirsystem and like the system was
behind on the event.
So I was kind of in this weirdlimbo space of like am I going
to the event today or do theystill?
Or did it not go throughbecause of the you know, the

(29:53):
government putting my stuff inbecause, yeah, red tape?
So I think I finally realized Iwasn't doing the event you know
, which was kind of a bummer.
I was like okay, and then all ofa sudden, like out of nowhere,
I suddenly got super like allthese ideas just started
flooding into my head and Icouldn't like I couldn't make
sense of it.
So I got to the point where Ijust grabbed my laptop and I

(30:13):
just started typing and justlike getting all these ideas out
.
And it was crazy because itwent from first person like me
just trying to get it out of myhead to third person and that
was basically my firstexperience with automatic
writing and I was told that Ineed to start a podcast and I
need to bring people on and Ineed to help them showcase their
purpose and I also need to.

(30:34):
That's also the birthing of myalignment project, but that came
a little bit later.
It started there but then itunfolded later.
But, yeah, it was just a bunchof downloads came in and it was
just one of those like okay.
And then, oh, I also was told Ineed to change the name of my
business, which was JourneyThrough Tarot at the time, and I
was told I need to change it tosomething bigger and broader

(30:56):
because it was too I was keepingmyself in a box.
Spirit Journey Collective givesme more space if I wanted to
add another modality, forinstance.
You know I'm not just stuckwith Tarot.
So, yeah, it was the.
My new business name got birthedand this idea of the podcast
and I literally I want to say Ihad that download like January
12th and I had my first episodeout by January 27th and it's

(31:23):
just, the doors just opened forme.
So for me it was more likeobeying, like okay, you know,
and then.
But it was crazy because I hadno problem finding people, like
people were like lining up to beon my podcast.
I thought that part was goingto be hard and it wasn't.
And so I yeah, I'm actuallycoming up to my next episode is
going to be my hundredth episode, which is exciting.

(31:47):
So, yeah, I just it's been ajourney, but for me I'm
naturally more on the shy, quietside.
So, yeah, it's been a journey, but for me I'm naturally more on
the shy, quiet side, and it'sgiven me this extroverted side
of me where I get to, for abrief hour, become great friends
with the person I'm speakingwith, hear their story, their
journey, what they do, what theyoffer, and it's just, it's been
so cool being able tofacilitate that.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
And I love that you were just open to moving forward
and how life changing it is foryou, right, I mean, many people
will say you know, you probablyget this as well, people
telling you they're going to puta podcast together, right, and
then they worry about all thesedifferent things.
But I with you, the same thingof no problem getting guests,
like the biggest problem wasjust the microphone, right, the

(32:28):
glitches with that.
So never expected that, right,I'm like okay, but yeah, it's
just amazing when you fall intothat alignment, how things just
come to you.
You just attract it.
Last question how has spiritualchanneling changed your
personal life and the way you doreadings?

Speaker 3 (32:50):
That's another great question.
I think it's just, it's reallyjust helped me trust in my
spiritual path, my higher power,more.
It's just been like more of asoftening, because in the
beginning there was a lot morenerves, there was a lot more
like worry, of like, oh my God,what if I get it wrong?
You know, now I mean, yeah, Istill have that like questioning
in myself, but for the mostpart the feedback that I, even

(33:14):
now, even when there's a smallpart of doubt in the back of my
mind, I just dismiss it becausethe feedback I get afterwards
always aligns with what theyneed to hear.
So it's like like 1% of thetime is when it doesn't align.
And I know I'm not the readerfor everyone, so that's totally
fine, you know.
But I've just for me it's justbeen a softening in my belief
system, trusting higher power, trusting that like, okay, if

(33:36):
they came to me, it's becausethey were called to come to me,
and because they were called tocome to me it's because I'm
meant to be that vessel andchannel for them and you know.
So they need to hear a certainway, they need you know, like,
whatever it is, I'm fully liketrusting that.
That's my position, and again,it doesn't come from me.
If nothing else, too, it's alsohelped me just really
strengthen my own spiritualjourney with my own higher power

(33:57):
, because I have to trust.
If I don't trust that, it's myego that's showing up for the
reading and not me as thechannel, being open to
understanding that there'ssomething here for them, not for
me.
I'm literally just the personin the middle, and so I feel
like my it's again coming backto this, the self-trust is still
a big one for me.
I think that that's just partof my ongoing journey is

(34:19):
learning how to trust myselfmore, but I think overall I've
just softened into this sense oflike trust just as a whole with
me and my higher power andknowing that this is what I'm
supposed to be doing.
And not just that, but the moreit unfolds with my clients, the
more I'm like, yeah, there's ahigher power, it's got my back,
because otherwise I wouldn't beable to do what I do, and so I

(34:41):
feel like it's just deep in myown spiritual journey and my own
spiritual beliefs.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
Beautiful, beautiful.
Well, that was our lastquestion and, as we were talking
, is there anything that youhave forgotten or something
you'd like to share with thelisteners?
The floor is yours.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
I would just say that you know tarot it's.
It still has a lot of stigma, alot of misunderstandings.
But if it's something that youfeel called to to play with,
whether it's just to buy a deckfor yourself which I'm I'm not
one of those, I'm not agatekeeper I don't feel like
tarot can only be for thespecial ones, right?
Anyone could read tarot.
Again, if you want to do itprofessionally, I feel like
there's an extra layer that goesinto that.

(35:17):
But if you just want to readfor yourself, it's a beautiful
self-reflection tool that can belike a daily routine, daily
ritual, or just turning to itwhen you're kind of going
through something strong or big.
So I would say, play with it ifyou feel called into it.
And if you feel called to do itprofessionally, that's 100%
possible too.
There are many, many successfulreaders out there who make a

(35:40):
difference and who use the tool, for you know beautiful means
and so, yeah, just be open to itis the best thing I would say,
and don't get caught up in someof that hype, because it's Tarot
really is.
In my experience, it's beenmedicine for me personally and
for what I've experienced withmy clients.
