What happens when a creative pro leaves the pace of advertising to pursue a life of calm, coherence, and service? We sit down with Reiki practitioner David Andrew Larsen to trace a midlife pivot that feels both daring and deeply practical. David shares how he blends classic Reiki with sound therapy, tuning forks, crystals, smudging, and alpha-wave soundscapes to help clients relax, sleep better, and release long-held stress. He talks candidly about starting over, moving through self-doubt, and letting the energy do the work—especially when the mind wants to control outcomes.

We dive into real-world results, including stories of clients who went from skepticism to meaningful change within 24 hours of a session. David explains why distance Reiki isn’t as strange as it sounds by linking it to everyday experiences of resonance: music that moves you, news that stirs you, a voice that settles you over the phone. You’ll also hear how he builds person-centered sessions, tunes tools to chakras, and uses grounding to create safety and presence. For practitioners, he shares marketing lessons, explains why class titles matter, and offers guidance on iterating until the message resonates with the audience.

Beyond techniques, this conversation is a love letter to community. We highlight the value of circles, summits, and business groups that replace gatekeeping with generosity, including spaces like Reiki Business Collective and Holistic Huddle. If you’re exploring energy healing, considering a career shift, or simply craving calmer days and better sleep, this story offers practical steps and encouragement to test the work for yourself. If it helps, keep going. If it doesn’t, tweak and try again.

I’m David Andrew Larsen, a Reiki practitioner with a passion for helping others
reconnect with themselves on a deeper level.
I have been practicing Reiki for three years and recently joined True Path Collective, a
holistic wellness company based in Port Perry, Ontario.
My journey with Reiki began during a time when I was seeking balance and clarity in my
own life. The experience opened my eyes to the incredible power of energy healing —
how it can calm the mind, ease the body, and awaken a sense of peace within.
Today, I share that same sense of healing and calm with others. In each session, my
goal is to create a peaceful space where you can let go of stress, release what no
longer serves you, and realign with your natural flow of energy. I believe healing
happens when we feel safe, supported, and seen — and Reiki offers that gentle
reminder that peace is always within reach.
Each session is also enriched with the healing vibrations of sound therapy, tuning forks,
crystals, rain sticks, and smudging, allowing energy to flow freely, and the experience to
unfold on a deeper level.
When I’m not offering Reiki, you’ll often find me exploring mindfulness, nature, or simple
moments of stillness — all the things that inspire me to live with more presence and
gratitude.

Now he's been practicing forthree years and recently joined

(01:26):

But know that each of hissessions is enriched with a
healing vibration of soundtherapy, tuning forks, crystals,
brain sticks, and smudging, allowing the energy to flow
freely and the experience tounfold to a deeper level.

(01:49):
all things that inspire him tolive with more presence and
gratitude.
So let's give a ready set Reikiwelcome to David Andrew Laura.
Welcome, welcome to Ready SetReiki.
So I told our listeners a littlebit about you.
So tell us about yourself.

SPEAKER_01 (02:09):
A little bit about myself.
I'm right now, I'm just doinglike what I do is I'll do a
little Reiki energy, and I'mjust doing a little Reiki energy
healing for you and yourlisteners.
So let me push that through.
That's good.
I love that.
Yeah.
So I grew up in Toronto.
Um, hey Blue Jays.
Well, unfortunately, it did notreally happen this year.

(02:30):
Uh, but like typically, Istarted my Reiki journey a
little bit later in my life.
So this is like what three yearsago.
But typically, what I was doingin my career was uh in
communication and design.
So advertising and uh workingwith a lot of uh you know
advertising agencies withinToronto, which is a very tough

(02:52):
career, of course, you know,whatever.
But anyways, I loved it.
I'm a very creative person.
I do photography, I do painting, and that was sort of my career
main, like the go-to thing thatI did.
Now I am trying my hardest tointegrate my Reiki awakening, if

(03:13):
you will, because I have justdiscovered myself as a Reiki
practitioner and I've learnedand I've studied it, and now I'm
just kind of like pushingforward to a beautiful new
career.
And I think it's actuallyinteresting that you can
actually take a career in youryour midlife, if you will.
I'm not I'm not that old, but Iam, you know, uh, but anyways, I

(03:34):
think it's really interesting toactually change your career and
make a new uh new new uh careeroption opportunity for yourself.

SPEAKER_02 (03:42):
Isn't that wonderful?
And I don't know if you heardthe update about uh Zui Sensei
that his um resume was recentlyuncovered.
Yes, announcement came in April, and seeing how he shifted and
changed many times in his careeruntil he connected with that
energy.

SPEAKER_01 (04:02):
Yeah, I I actually I actually find, you know, uh with
uh COVID, to be honest, COVIDwas a really interesting time
for all of us, I think.
And as we progressed afterCOVID, I kind of went from a
sort of a change for myself.
Um, I don't know what it was,but it just kind of like opened
up this new possibility forholistic uh practices for

(04:24):
myself.
And that's when I just said, youknow what?
I'm gonna like I used to know orI used to dabble in uh you know,
Reiki and stuff like that.
But then I said, I gotta, Igotta learn it.
I gotta figure out how to do itproperly.
And so I learned uh through apractitioner and it's lovely.
I loved it.
It was so amazing, and it justexcited me.

(04:45):
And this is where I'm at now.
It's my new, that's my newenergy.

SPEAKER_02 (04:48):
Beautiful.
It's just amazing how theenergy, I guess, of COVID
shifted and changed all of us,quite frankly.
I mean, it really kind of wokeus up, some of us, not all of
us, but some of us up to what dowe really want to do?
How can we shift and change ourlife in a direction where
there's more purpose, moremeaning to it?

SPEAKER_01 (05:07):
Yeah, and I find also like now the times, if you
think about the times, especially, you know, the
political times and stuff likethat, and what's happening and
the changes, um, how to become alittle bit more uh like just
like understand your ownsensibility and and just kind of
like uh I find a lot of peopleare very there, there's a lot of

(05:28):
stress and tension in the world, and I want to reduce that for
people.
And what I'm doing through mypractice is to release some of
that stress and tension forpeople and let them explore
their own energy and their ownpotential because what's
happening is they're justallowing people to absorb their
the other people's energy, andwhat they're not doing is

(05:51):
saying, This is my energy, I'mgood, this is what I this is who
I am, and I'm not going to allowthat to affect me.

SPEAKER_02 (05:59):
Beautiful.
Well, we met on this journeyfrom our beautiful mutual friend
Christian Standing Stone, abeautiful energy.
He has the Reiki podcast forbusiness.
You know, he has his fabulousbook and he's doing amazing and
wonderful things in Reiki here.
So tell us how did Reiki comeabout?

(06:19):
Did Reiki find you or did youfind Reiki?

SPEAKER_01 (06:23):
You know, it's funny.
Um, so about like 24 years ago,I actually went to
Transformational Arts College inToronto.
So that was just like sort of alike a night course that I
decided to join.
And until then, like once I didlike there's meditational
aspects to it, there's a wholebunch of different things like

(06:44):
Reiki and practices.
And until I actually kind of gotinto it and experienced how they
could promote or like help meunderstand my energy levels or
my energy potential, that's whenI just like it is blew up on
five.
I was like, whoa, this is reallycool.

(07:04):
I actually do have the energy.
Um, and then it was, you know, and I continued with on with my
career and stuff like that, andthen every almost every year, I
kind of felt I need toexperience this and practice
this a little bit more.
Now it came to now, which youknow, all three years ago, I
guess.
But I really felt um a desireand and just some kind,

(07:29):
something that just said to me,you need to do this on a
full-time basis.
And so I said, let's do it.
Um, let's first of all, youknow, like understand how it
works.
Um, you know, get someone whoactually is a professional to
teach me how to do it, set up abusiness.
It's all very complicated, it'svery scary.

(07:50):
Uh, you know, it's challenging, but I love it.
It's it's amazing.
And and from that, um, you know, there's things that I'm offering
different classes, uh, whichare, you know, when initially
when you're doing something thatis really new, it's very scary
and you know, a little bitchallenging.
But when you do it, you just letit go and see what happens.

(08:10):
And I I kind of feel as like theuniverse says, whatever happens,
happens.
Um, you just have to get rid ofthe uh, you know, worrying about
stuff and just you know let itflow.
And that's just model I alwaysthink.

SPEAKER_02 (08:24):
I always say sometimes you got to get out of
your own way and let the Reikihandle it.

SPEAKER_01 (08:28):
I always it's like you know, I you know, we're not
the people that are actuallyinfluencing.
It's like you're just like theyou're the medium, uh, if you
will.
Like you, you know, the energywill flow through you, and you
know, you're not the one, youknow, kind of making the energy
work, you're the one that isjust kind of providing the
energy for other people.

(08:49):
So uh you know, you always haveto get yourself out of that
mindset that you're the onedoing it.
It's not that, it's the energydoing it for you, kind of thing.
Beautiful.

SPEAKER_02 (08:59):
Now, as you have shifted and changed to have this
a full-time uh business, asyou've gone out, as you've
learned, as you've practiced, asyou've connected with people and
you've shared with people, thisis my chosen path now.
I'm choosing to do thisfull-time.
What are some misconceptionsabout Reiki that people come to
you and and say about, wow,Reiki, I heard this and that

(09:23):
about it?

SPEAKER_01 (09:24):
Yeah, well, it's very there's a lot of people
that I've I've met and treatedthat are very skeptical about
Reiki because it is energy,right?
So what you what people don'ttend to understand is that Reiki
is something that you can'ttangibly see or feel, right?
So it's not like you know, amassage therapist will
literally, you know, touch themuscles and and do whatever or

(09:46):
chiropractic, you know, thatkind of thing.
Reiki is a very in a weird wayspiritual energy, which I think
is hard to grasp for mostpeople, but once they experience
like when I do a Reiki session, even on people that have told me
I'm very skeptical about it,once they see it and feel it and

(10:07):
and and you know, a step awayfrom it, all of them, like I'm
saying all of them, always feellike a sense of relief and and
and beautiful energy.
And it's usually sometimes takesabout 12 to 24 hours.
Um, and it's like from there, they kind of go, Oh wow, this
actually does work.
It's not like just sort of likea woo-woo, that's what my mom

(10:30):
always says, woo-woo stuff.
And I'm gonna I share a littleinteresting uh story about that.
My grandmother, so my mom's mom,um, so whenever they were sick,
my my my mom and and their kids, she would actually go and do
like a little, you know, ahealing moment or a hand wave
against them when they weresick.

(10:52):
And my mom was like, Well, whatis that?
I said, Well, that's Reiki, mom.
That is totally what Reiki isabout.
I did not understand anythingabout what Reiki was, but when
when she told me that, I went,Well, that's really interesting
because my grandmother kind ofhad this interesting, you know,

(11:12):
uh thought about Reiki.
And it was her intuition to justkind of like hover her hand over
uh body, and so that to me wasmaybe I uh maybe it kind of I
got in it inherited to me.
I don't know, I'm not sure, butit was really cool to hear that
experience.

SPEAKER_02 (11:30):
Yeah, it's just even amazing.
As a young mom, before I evenknew about Reiki, I was doing
that as well, like intuitivewhen they were sick and not
feeling well.
It's just almost like it wasingrained into your soul.

SPEAKER_01 (11:43):
Yeah, or her, like, yeah, basically, it's almost
like what she decided to feel ordo.
I mean, it's intuition for me aswell.
Um, half the half the thingsthat I do with Reiki or any
practice that I do is justintuition.
Like sometimes, like I alwaysfind that people are all
different.
Um, you know, whatever I do tofor people and an experience at

(12:08):
different energy level is alwayssomething new for me.
So I kind of concentrate on theperson versus sort of the
experience itself.
And you know, I will targetcertain areas and um, you know,
and provide that experience fordifferent people.

SPEAKER_02 (12:24):
So right.
And this is definitely amodality that you have to
experience.
You know, I always tell peopleit's like me telling you you
have to try this great pizza,it's amazing, it's the best in
the world, and then you'll takea bite out of it, like, you're
crazy.
This is not the best pizza ever, right?

SPEAKER_00 (12:40):
So pineapple, really?

SPEAKER_02 (12:46):
So it's just an individual, you know, connection
with it.
So yeah, now you helpindividuals, you help your
clients and your students findstillness and balance, help them
through their challenges.
So, what have some been some ofthe challenges you've
experienced in your own healingjourney?

SPEAKER_01 (13:03):
Uh, the experiences for myself is just um, I think
the one thing that reallyresonates for me, um, especially
when I started with this journeyof Reiki, is is believing in it
itself, like believing in theenergy that you provide to other
people.
The one thing whenever I do aReiki session, I'm always

(13:26):
saying, Oh, I hope that thisperson is going to sort of like
do, you know, just have somegreat, beautiful energy, you
know, session with me.
And then I had to kind of like, and I know Kristen is she he's
he's very good at this too.
He said, Do not think so muchabout that.

(13:50):
It's not about yourinterpretation of what's gonna
happen with the Reiki session,it's literally just you are
facilitating the energy and itwill do whatever it needs to do.
It is you you cannot control it.
It is just gonna like flow if itflows and it will flow.
And the the great thing aboutthat perception, when you keep

(14:11):
hearing that, and it's it's it'sstill something that always
resonates in my mind about youknow that you know, I have to do
this, I have to, you know, youknow, be the greatest.
No, it's about let it go, don'toverthink it, and just let the
energy flow.
It that's it.
Um, if you overthink it, thenit's then you start getting to

(14:33):
that weird place where you knowit it's just not going to work
as as effectively.
And once I just kind of likesuccumb to it, it's all good.
And it it does, yeah.
Have to tell them that I'm doingReiki on person, I become more
calm and I become morereflective and grounded, if that

(14:53):
makes sense.
Uh it's a beautiful, it's almostlike the win-win situation with
me.

SPEAKER_02 (14:59):
I had a master teacher um tell a story once of
when she was working on a c witha client, and the client after
the session asked, Well, what doyou think about when you give me
Reiki?
And she answered, My groceries,I think of my grocery list.
She's like, What?
She's like, Yeah, I was thinkingof my groceries because she

(15:21):
trusted that it's going to goexactly where it needs to go.

SPEAKER_01 (15:24):
Exactly.
And you know, half the time, uhlike I would say about 95, I
would say even more than 95%.
Most of my clients, when theyafter they wake up, like I
usually do, like I they'reusually on their back, and I you
know, treat the back, and thenthey we flip them over.
But after the session, they areall every single one of them
kind of wake up and like, oh mygoodness, where like where am I?

(15:48):
I am very calm and reflective.
And and then even after I Ialways ask them, uh you know, at
the the next day, please, because it takes about 12 to 24
hours really to complete asession, to be honest.
Um, so I always ask them toplease reply to me and like via
email or text or something.
And every single one of themsay, Oh my god, I've I've had

(16:10):
the best sleep.
I had someone who had P majorPTSD, um, and he was very
skeptical about Reiki.
And I treated him, and he toldme the next day through uh text,
he goes, I slept through threealarms, so I've never had a
better sleep in my life.

(16:30):
I I have so much uh less anxietyuh throughout my like it just
it's incredible once peoplereceive the energy and
understand it, and even distantReiki.
Um, that is a really challengingone for people to understand,
you know, being online, say forinstance, and I'm doing a Reiki

(16:50):
session, they go, Well, how doyou do that?
And I'm like, it it will happen.
Sure.
Um, and I I've done it so manytimes, and I actually feel more
energy from people I've been uhuh treating online versus in
person, weirdly enough.
But maybe that's just you know,my energy uh being a little bit
more excited, if that makessense.

(17:12):
Sure.
So yeah, I it's it's amazingfrom what I've heard from
people.

SPEAKER_02 (17:16):
Yeah, I I think people don't understand.
And when you watch something onthe news or you watch a movie or
you hear a song, it affects you.

SPEAKER_00 (17:24):
Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (17:25):
Like you can stir up memories and it can make you
happy or sad.
You can watch something unfoldlive on the news and you can
feel it, whether it's agony ortriumphant or whatever.
And I think people just don'tunderstand that's the same
energy, that's the same energythat you're connecting with,
like hello on the phone.
Hey, it's great to hear yourvoice, right?

(17:47):
Oh my goodness, and that's whatthat's all about.
So I think people who are thosethat don't believe it, you know,
you have to try it, you know, and yeah.
People ask that, well, what whathappens if I fall asleep?
Great, I'll take it as acompliment.

SPEAKER_01 (18:04):
I'm totally okay with it because when I do work,
yeah, I usually put uh likesound like like uh an alpha wave
or some some kind of sound tuneuh or sound wave to it.
Um and then they kind of likejust kind of almost fall asleep,
which is great.
And then you know, it's it'sit's kind of hard when you have
to flip them over because thenthey're they're they're okay

(18:26):
with it, but they're like when Iflip them over, they're like,
Oh, I was so relaxed.
He's so good.
Yeah, I'm sorry, I have to dothe back side.

SPEAKER_02 (18:33):
So yeah, I just usually go under the table.
I don't I haven't been flippingthem too much anymore, you know.

SPEAKER_00 (18:40):
It's part of me kind of goes like maybe I should
start trying that because it'slike they're so relaxed, but
maybe it's better to kind ofyeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (18:47):
And even I know some students of mine, they use like
a surrogate or a doll and theyflip the doll over and they do
it that way too.
Yeah, I hate to turn them over, especially when they're asleep.

SPEAKER_01 (18:58):
And they're like, I I love when they wake up and
they're like they just sit thereand they they look at me and
they go, like, what has happenedto you?
I love that feeling.
You know, it's like it that thatmakes me so happy when people
kind of like get that that senseof understanding that you know
I'm providing energy towardstheir body, sure.

(19:20):
They're just like they havenever discovered that before as
far as their own energy.
It's beautiful, it's a beautifuluh experience.

SPEAKER_02 (19:29):
So when it is time for you to get an energetic
tune-up, and if you don't go outto other practitioners for a
tune-up, you can use thisexample for a teacher that you
train with.
What are some qualities that youuh look for in someone who uh is
a Reiki practitioner or a Reikimaster teacher?

SPEAKER_01 (19:47):
Yeah, so I I would say that uh much like myself,
it's hard to answer thatquestion because I really don't
look out or go to other Reikipractitioners to do my own
thing.
But what I would say with thatquestion is that I would say to
any Reiki practitioner outthere, my thing would be look

(20:10):
like what I do myself is justlook for any kind of thing.
Like I go on to, you know, whether it's YouTube or uh I'm
on Mind Valley right now.
I don't I I'm assuming that youmaybe you're some of your people
or you or whoever it knows aboutMind Valley.
It's a very, really strongpractice.

(20:31):
So you can actually go on thereand they have beautiful,
beautiful uh things likehypnotherapy or uh meditational
experiences.
I'm pretty much on that, and Ilearned so many different new
things.
Like I am just I absorb otherpeople, like it doesn't have to
be about Reiki too, because youcan add things on Reiki, you can

(20:53):
add meditation, you can add uhhypnotherapy, you can have add a
whole bunch of differentpractices to Reiki.
Um, I try to also do like, youknow, being in the present
moment before we start asession, which means like you
just kind of understand yourbody, you know, kind of do a
scan, and then we move forwardinto you know, you know,

(21:16):
creating a better uh energylevel for you.
But it you need to kind of goback to the basics of who you
are, what you are feeling at themoment before we progress.
So, my thing is like in youknow, educate yourself, learn
new things, you know, just allthese beautiful tools.
There's so much there there tolearn.

(21:37):
I will never stop learning.
I will never stop learning.
It's gonna be a constantlearning session for me.
Right on different tools, like Isaid, you know, we have like
tuning forks, and and you know, just uh there's a gong that we
have in our practice space thatI love using.
It is so cool.
Um, and it just kind of likeresonates energy, and it's it's

(22:01):
it's because of that, like thetools that I've I've I've seen
and I'm using that helps me.
Um, my intuition is like use it,make it work with your Reiki
practition.
Um, for me, it's like I useevery kind of tool I could
possibly can, and it's all aboutthe individual as well.

SPEAKER_02 (22:20):
Beautiful.
Is there any particular red flagthat you would advise someone
who's new to Reiki, they'reexploring, they're getting on
different uh places like TikTokor YouTube.
What is an absolute no?
Stay away and run.

SPEAKER_01 (22:36):
Oh boy, what can I say?
Um you know what?
I I'll be honest, it's not aboutdon't say no to anything, try
anything.
Um, you know, the problem that Ithink we all face is I'll be
honest, like in me marketingmyself, whether it's YouTube or
any other social media platform, just just go and do it.

(22:59):
Um, my my advice is likenothing's out of bounds, like
just see what happens.
Um, I must admit that I wasdoing something called Reiki or
Reiki intro as a class, and itwas in court peri.
It wasn't resonating withpeople, like as far as the word
or you know, whatever that wasgoing to be.

(23:22):
So I'm kind of doing like moreof a meditational kind of
experience, which I found thatthe only way you can, you know,
succeed and and and and createmore attention is to understand
what people want and what peopleresonate with.
So I'll be honest, there'snothing that says don't do it,

(23:42):
just try what you can do and andsee what what uh what people
gravitate towards.
That's the best way.
And you know what?
Just explore and experiment.
There's nothing, there's no,yeah, there's nothing that you
should not do.
Try it and see what happens.

SPEAKER_02 (23:59):
Now, many practitioners, once they get
that level two, they have thecalling to do this full time and
which you are doing now.
So, what advice do you givesomeone who's just starting out
into this spiritual work?

SPEAKER_01 (24:14):
You know what?
Just believe in yourself.
The problem with me was that Iwas always self-doubting what I
was doing.
Uh, you know what?
That's what you do.
And you know, Kristen, um, Iknow I've been on a lot of his
uh, I mean, it's not only him,but and I love you know his
podcasts and I love uh being onhis uh, you know, uh his

(24:36):
sessions.
Um, but it always resonates withme that people always self-doubt
themselves.
I've I've heard people go like,oh, I've been in this Reiki
business and I'm doing thisReiki practice, and I've had
zero clients.
And I'm like, yeah, well, yes, that can be an option, but do
like you're not in a weird way.

(24:57):
I kind of go, maybe you're notdoing enough.
I don't know.
But for me, um, I know how hardof a struggle it is to maintain
this business and to just letpeople understand what it is
once they get into it and oncethey have a session, you know.
Believe me, it's like, you know, they tell another person, they
tell another person, and it's abeautiful situation.

(25:20):
Do not give up, like keep goingforward.
It is the most important thingto believe in yourself, and when
you don't just do what you'resupposed to do to other clients,
do Ray Can yourself and calmyourself down, um, allow
yourself to uh believe inyourself and and and just hold

(25:41):
that beautiful energy within.
Um, because if you if you giveup or you you know, you have
like everybody will have that.
Um trust in what's gonna happenin the universe.
The best thing I can say is thatsometimes when things went
really difficult for me, I wentto the universe and said,

(26:02):
Universe energy, please give mesomething that, and you know
it's funny, it usually happenedthat something the next day
would always happen.
It was a beautiful um situationor energy level, much like this
podcast.
I think that you know when Ireached out to Kristen, I was
like something came to me and itwas a beautiful energy and and

(26:24):
it was meant to be.

SPEAKER_02 (26:25):
Yeah, so I think that shows you the beautiful
community together of networkingand working together and not
gatekeeping and supporting eachother, because when one of us
wins, we all win.
Like it's just this completelywin, yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (26:40):
The most beautiful thing is when community comes
together, because what I thinkis a lot of people just think
like they're by themselves andthey just think about their
business by themselves.
When you engage in a community, wow, things are the they open up
like big time.
So I find reach out tocommunity, reach out to people
and and believe in yourself.

SPEAKER_02 (27:01):
Yes, I mean, we've got you know, Reiki round
tables, right?
We've got Reiki summits, we'vegot all kinds of things.
So you don't have to be on thisisland alone.
It's it's really you have a lotof great people out there uh
that are supportive, and youmight run across, unfortunately,
one or two gatekeepers, but Ithink that's in every

(27:21):
profession.
Um people are very kind andsupportive, and yeah, all good.

SPEAKER_01 (27:29):
There could be really bad people out there on
the internet for sure, but youknow what?
Uh what you try to do is is I Ifind just manage the people that
you uh it's like I I also do um,you know, just I take people's
um energy out of the things thatother people absorb.
Like so you might like say youtake a person and you're like,

(27:51):
oh, they absorb you're absorbingtheir energy, their bad energy.
I will take that away from them, and I will notice that in their
body energy, you know, and so Iwill take those negative things
that are implanted in ourbodies, if that makes sense, and
I will uh get rid of them.
So yeah, everybody's gonna beabsorbing different stuff.

SPEAKER_02 (28:11):
So, what books do you recommend?

SPEAKER_01 (28:15):
Okay, I I so here's the thing
of books, I don't know what itis, but I'm gonna say my go-to
is always like like just morelive stream action, like
podcasts, YouTube thing.
I don't know what it is.
Um, books, I've never been a bighuge book reader, so you know,

(28:41):
sorry about that, but um I'mmore into like things like Mind
Valley, which is a great uhplatform.
I'm more into the kind of likelike I said, the YouTube and and
things that are just more uhengaging, um, real live action
kind of things, and that's whereI kind of tend to learn more

(29:01):
from.
Um, and I will kind of like pickand choose, like I'll you know,
sometimes I'll I'll I'll picksomething and I'll be okay.
That's interesting, you know,it's meditation or something
like that.
And I'll like kind of listen toit.
If it's for me, great, I'llfollow through with it.
And if it's not, I'll just golike, okay, that's great, that's
not really for me.
But mostly I I typically go toall the typical online kind of

(29:26):
things, which you know what, that's just that's just my
thing.
That's my go-to.

SPEAKER_02 (29:31):
Perfect.
So do you offer any classes, trainings, any events coming up?

SPEAKER_01 (29:37):
Yep.
So I do.
So tip so in Port Perry, I do doa live session every Tuesdays
from 7 p.m.
to 8 30 p.m.
I initially called it uh ReikiIntro.
So that was sort of like me tointroduce Reiki to a group
session.
Um, and that was like a a betterprice point.

(30:00):
Intro, if you will, versus likea full Reiki session for 15
minutes.
But it would it would it wasgood to it, and I I've actually
have done some reallyinteresting group sessions with
a lot of people.
Um, they really resonated reallywell, and and I love the fact
that everybody's got thisbeautiful energy, it's like
almost a circle uh of energy andthey feed off each other.

(30:22):
It's beautiful.
I've kind of adapted it becauseI want to change it every so
often, not necessarily onlyReiki.
So I'm doing like a Reiki, uhsorry, uh meditational um aspect
because I find Reiki is alsomeditational, and so I'm kind of
creating a more meditationalaspect to it.

(30:44):
And that, like I get I said,it's more in person, but I am
going to be introducingsomething called morning Reiki.
And uh it hasn't happened yet.
I'm still in the process ofdoing this, but come to
dalreiki.ca.
Um, it's gonna happen aroundlike seven.

(31:05):
I know you guys are like some ofthem are some of you are like
Pacific Standard Time.
I'm in Easter Standard Time.
Um, I'm hoping to do around 7 to7:30 or something for an hour.
And what I want to do isintroduce Reiki as a startup for
your beautiful connection to theworld and yourself.

(31:25):
And this is what's gonna, you'regonna like, you're gonna just
have this great energy sessionfrom me, and it's gonna be it,
you're gonna explode, it'sgetting bigger.
So may happen next week.
I just it's one of those thingswhere I have to do sort of like
uh understand the you know, uhcreating the session times, um,

(31:47):
and uh just sort of uhunderstanding what the platform
is gonna be for myself, butexpect that in the next two
weeks at least.
It's gonna be wonderful.

SPEAKER_02 (31:56):
Sounds beautiful.
So, where can we find you if wewant to get in touch with you?
Book a session, find all thewonderful things that you do.

SPEAKER_01 (32:04):
Dalreiki.ca, not dot com.
That is the one thing.com.
Yeah, I mean, I tried doingthat, it's it's not available.
So dot CA, so it's Canada.
Thank you very much.
Um, go there.
That's where I updateeverything.
Um, I can add you to anewsletter.
Um, my email is also there, soyou can always email me uh under

(32:26):
information contact information.
So email me through that if youneed to, if you want to.
Um, you can see all of mycourses, everything that's gonna
be updated is under uh, youknow, my uh sessions.
Um, so there's a section for it.
Uh so take a look at that.
It's always updated, gives youthe price points, gives you the

(32:47):
times, and you can book any kindof session through there.
So that is the go-to place.
I also will say that I'vecreated a group called Holistic
Huddle on Facebook group orFacebook group page.
Um, holistic Huddle.
It is basically for everybody, not just Reiki people, but
anybody who's in the holisticpractice, no matter where you're

(33:10):
at, it's a great place forpeople to engage and just share
their business ideas, struggles, whatever it may be.
So go there as well.
That's sort of my secondaryplatform that I'm trying to help
everybody in this business tomove forward.

SPEAKER_02 (33:27):
All right, wonderful.
Well, that ends the first partof our journey.
I'm gonna guide you to thesecond part, which is the
questions from Reiki studentsand social media.
So here we go.
Number one How can enrichingsound therapy, tuning forks,
crystal bowls, and rain sticksenrich a Reiki session?

SPEAKER_01 (33:44):
Okay, well, um, obviously, when we when we think
about uh things like tuningforks or like all those kind of
tools that I use, um yourmolecule, like your atoms,
molecule, there is a res there'sa resonating uh frequency to
them, right?
Like when your body, the way I'mgonna describe it is that your

(34:05):
body is 99.9999999.
There's a whole bunch of linesthere, percent energy and
0.0000001% matter.
And so I kind of go like, okay,if that's the case, then most of
your body is obviously energy.
So these tools like uh tuningforks or any like sound

(34:28):
vibrations, um typically alphawaves, um, they are all
specifically tuned into eacheither chakra, which typically
is what we do.
Uh so each tuning fork that Ihave is always specifically
tuned to each chakra level andhertz, you know.
So every uh, you know, uh kindof a situation where um those

(34:54):
chakras need a certain vibrationset.
So I use those things toactually activate those chakras,
if that makes sense.
So that's why I use those.
The things like smudging, I youknow, smudging is basically
smoke that is based on sage thatI burned.
Um, that on top of um the rainsticks, those are more for

(35:19):
grounding.
So those are now more for umunderstanding the grounding
aspects and the sound that itmakes, and if not, you know,
like the smoke and whatever, that makes more of a grounding
aspect for people so that theycan ground themselves to their
own energy.
So hopefully that makes sense.
Uh yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (35:40):
Beautiful.
Question number two How have youbeen able to use Reiki to find
stillness in such a chaoticworld?

SPEAKER_01 (35:48):
So um, I'm gonna say the one example that I like I in
order to answer that question,I'm gonna say this.
So when I first started my firstclass, uh a group Reiki Circle
class, which was veryintimidating for me because it
was my very first session.
And I, you know, I went intothis class and I had a group of

(36:08):
people, and I was like verynervous, of course.
I was like, oh wow, I'm uhextremely nervous.
And once I started it, um, Iknew I was nervous, but then
once I started it and we didthis beautiful Reiki session for
about an hour and a half, Imyself just felt this calmness
and relaxation within myselfthrough the practice of giving

(36:32):
Reiki to everybody else.
And it was funny because afterour class ended, I asked the
class about the whole thing, andthey go, they said to me, like,
you're you were very nervous,Dave.
And I said, I know.
I'm sorry, I know I was nervous, but they go, but after you did
Reiki, you were just calm andrelaxed, and everything just

(36:52):
kind of fell into place, and itso that itself told me that
Reiki helps me ground myself,um, even through preparations
for things that maybe are veryscary and and you know
complicated.
And so I kind of always groundmyself when I'm doing something
that's very scary or you know, different.

SPEAKER_02 (37:13):
Beautiful.
Third question can you share amoment when you realize that the
Reiki was making a difference inyour life?
Did you have that aha, it'sworking moment?

SPEAKER_01 (37:26):
I had one client, my one of my, I wouldn't say my
very first client, but one of myfirst clients, he had major
PTSD, made like very severe andvery skeptical.
And so I treat, and this isbefore I actually became a Reiki
practitioner.
I was like just doing my Reikithing, and I, you know, I knew
what I was doing, but anyways, II treated him.

(37:47):
He was kind of skeptical.
And the next day after we didour treatment, he said to me, he
goes, I've never had a bettersleep in my life.
He goes, I actually sleptthrough three alarms.
My son had to wake me up fromasleep, and he goes, I've I my
anxiety went away like a likevery like a lot.

(38:12):
And so that to me was proving, like, you know, I don't want to
be saying I have to prove tomyself that my practice is you
know does something, but it isreally wonderful to hear that
sentiment from someone from aclient to say, you know what,
whatever you did for me, and andit's been happening like

(38:33):
constantly now that everybodysays what you do and what you're
giving to me is had profound, uhyou know, beautiful um
treatments for me.
So I love that.
That that that to me is the thethe icing on the cake.
I love that kind of stuff.
I love when people say that.
So that is really cool.

SPEAKER_02 (38:54):
So that was our last question as we've been talking.
Is there something that you wantto add or something that you
have forgotten to say?
The floor is yours.

SPEAKER_01 (39:04):
Yeah, okay.
So I just I mean, there arescientific uh proofs about
energy, about people's uh energyin their body.
And one thing I want to try toexplain to people is like I like
I said uh previously, you know, your body is like 99.99999%
energy and 0.0001 uh percentmatter.

(39:26):
And in order to understand thaton a quantum level, I really
truly want to put that intoperspective for people.
So if you took a football field, okay, and you put like a walnut
in the very center of the field, and then that that represents a
nucleus, that's the size of thenucleus, and then you put
something at the very end line, which is like the size of a

(39:47):
raisin, that would represent thesize and the distance of the
electron that typically willalways rotate around the
nucleus.
Think about how much space thereis between that, that's a lot of
space.
Um, and so that's the reason whyReiki does that.
It's it's so important becauseall of that stuff is just

(40:11):
resonating.
Like, you know, you think aboutoh, I'm just touching my hand,
that's you know, matter.
No, it's mostly vibrationalenergy, that's what it is.
So I'm taking what's in yourbody, your energy levels, and
I'm manipulating or justinfluencing what is happening to
your body.
Like I'm just kidding, you'recreating that energy sense of

(40:33):
being to yourself.
So I wanted to explain a littlebit of a scientific thing for
you guys.
That was my thing to uh tell youabout.

SPEAKER_02 (40:43):
Beautiful.
Well, thank you for sharingthat.
And tell us once one more timewhere we can find you.

SPEAKER_01 (40:49):
Dalraiki.ca is the place to go.
You can find all my contactinformation, my email, and all
that stuff.
So that is a place to go too.
And uh I can I also offer freeservices just to you want to
call and say, how does thiswork?
Blah, blah, blah.
I have scheduling appointmentsfor that too.

SPEAKER_02 (41:09):
Beautiful.
Well, thank you, David, AndrewLarson, for taking time out of
your very busy schedule to takethis ready set Reiki journey
with me.
I deeply appreciate it.
And going back to my friend inReiki, uh, Christian Standing
Stone, those of you listening, check out on Facebook, Reiki
Business Collective.
It's a great place to supporteach other.

(41:29):
Christian's very uh umencouraging, supporting, loving.
I can't say enough beautifulthings about him.
And it's a great place to he letyou advertise things and we
cheer each other on, and it'sjust a great, a great space.
So if you feel that you'realone, reach out to there.
You always have, you know, bothof us two to reach out to as

(41:51):
well.
So thank you, everyone.
Um, this is Tracy C.
Wright, and this has been readyset.
