(00:00):
So I talked extensively about Taylor Swift's engagements on
Cam's podcast, what I will say. And then we did about two hours
literally just on the engagement.
So if you want to listen to a a little 2 hour recap, you can
head over there. But of course I have to share my
(00:21):
thoughts with you guys. So the first thing that I want
to say is I was shocked. Like I'm not surprised that
they're engaged. I'm surprised that we got the
information so quickly. So basically what happened was
I, I was at work and I was in a meeting and then usually like
(00:42):
right after meetings, I'll checkmy phone and look at my text
messages and I think I had like 48 text messages.
I was like, what the fuck happened?
But like sometimes, you know, when you're in Group chats, 48
messages could just be like 5 minutes in a group chat.
But it was like 10 different people telling me that Taylor
(01:04):
Swift was engaged, which is exciting and people know me so
well, but I was like shocked. So I was like, Oh my God.
And I was in a room. I walked back into my office and
I share an office with another colleague.
And then we both have two-part time student staff that when
they're in the office, share with us too, which sounds crazy,
(01:25):
but we have a little, I don't know, I'm telling you, my office
layout, but we have two desks, obviously.
And then like a little meeting table that they sit at when
they're in the office. Anyways.
So all three of them are like, Oh my God, what?
And I was, I feel like they thought something bad had
happened. And I was like, Taylor Swift is
(01:46):
engaged. And then we all immediately went
on Instagram. So and then truly, I walked down
the hallway announcing it to everybody.
And it was very reminiscent. So when Harry, Prince Harry and
Meghan got engaged, I was so excited because I was, at that
(02:08):
time, I was such a royal Stan, which I know is weird, but I was
such a Royals Stan. And I loved Megan and Harry.
I still do. But I was just way more into
them then. And I remember I was at a
different office, a different job, and I was dancing down the
halls singing. The Prince is giving a ball, the
(02:31):
Prince is giving a ball, Harry, Harry a ball.
And that's not all that is from the Cinderbella Broadway
musical. If you're a real one, you'll
know, but I basically did that. I was fucking Paul Revere, which
I'm Canadian, so I actually don't really know who that is,
but I believe it's somebody thatwas like telling the news of
(02:53):
something. I don't know, whatever.
It's like a TikTok meme thing. So I just walked down my office
hallway, popped my head into everyone's office and said, Miss
Taylor, Allison Swift is engaged.
My first thoughts, actually, thefirst thing I really noticed was
the flowers. I was like, I just love that
type of flowers. I, it was a really trendy
(03:16):
wedding flower like that, like kind of muted pink and Peach, I
guess, and lots of greenery. I think that was a really,
really, really popular flower aesthetic in like for weddings
in like, maybe like 2015 to 2020, I guess.
And I always loved, loved, lovedthat because I was going to a
(03:41):
lot of weddings at that time with friends and family and a
lot of people kind of had that pink ballet slipper, pink peachy
kind of colors, maybe a little bit of yellow in there.
And so, yeah, love that. And then the second thing I
(04:01):
noticed was the casualness of their outfits, 'cause I just,
that's why I really think that this is their real engagement
pictures. I don't think anyone at this
point is doubting that, but I think people were surprised that
they would post their real engagement pictures.
I think a lot of people were like, maybe you post one after
(04:24):
like that, you just take afterward, like keep the
engagement pictures private and then post just a picture of you
maybe in the ring or whatever tothe public.
But due to, again, the casualness of their outfits, I
like truly believe and I, I do also think that they're like
(04:44):
facial expressions are like authentic.
I thought she looked kind of surprised and just like really,
really happy. And it was nice to see.
I feel like I've been a little critical of her use of filler
and Botox lately, like in the New Heights podcast.
