(00:00):
Taylor, Frankie Paul So I want to lay the groundwork for people
because I know a lot of petty Betty's are probably like ex
bachelor watchers, ex bachelor nation.
Some probably still watch we're we don't watch anymore, but we
used to watch, which I think is kind of the, I think the most
common route at this point. But basically what has happened

(00:22):
is like, because of the advent of all these new and really
exciting, like Love is Blind, Love Island, etcetera, that's
your nation, The Bachelor Bachelorette, their views have
like started to tank. So they were supposed to air a
Bachelorette season this fall. That's what they were.
You know, they do one a year andthey cancelled that.

(00:46):
And then Bachelor in Paradise aired this summer.
I don't think it's still airing, but it has had the lowest
ratings in its history. In season 10, they were on the
verge of canceling The Bachelor, which in 2025 feels wild to say
because it is like the, it's thereality TV show, like it's, it's

(01:09):
up there with Survivor and Big Brother and Amazing Race and
stuff. So that is so wild.
But they, they're making a big play, a big comeback play.
And they hired Taylor Taylor, Frankie Paul from The Secret
Lives of Mormon Wives to be their lead.
What do you think about that? Well, I've been watching the
bachelor since season 1 and season 1 the bachelor and

(01:32):
Bachelorette. I was not happy with Trista fine
meeting right? I was so annoyed.
I was so annoyed and I'm like and to and and now they've been
married for like 20 something years.
It's like yes, you know, maybe Ido not have the right opinion as
a judge, but I stopped watching it.
The fandom got toxic. I've talked to the bachelorettes

(01:55):
and stuff. Rachel has been on the show and
so I like I have interactions with it and it's just, you know,
the show became so toxic. Like not just in the way
representation, the phantom was toxic, the representation was
toxic. The expectations of marriage was
toxic. And like, I understand love is
buying the same thing in this partition of marriage, but you

(02:16):
know, they're going to they're going to get divorced.
Like it's, it really comes down to I, I appreciate I'm from the,
I from the place that I love, Love Island for the sense of
like it's girlfriend. And it's just like everyone
hooks up with everyone. There's no question about it.
There's like change of fluids everywhere.
And you know, I appreciate that because in your 20s, you're not

(02:37):
trying to figure out who the fuck you want to be.
Thank you, It's always been sucha fucking hoax.
Or like a fart that they cast. Well, they used to cast.
This is the thing though is theyused to cast older people.
They used to cast people in their 30s.
Like that's later, but in the beginning it was 20s, I think.
I think things sensibility has changed.

(02:58):
Like I'm, I'm about 10 to 10 years older than you.
So we were like in that era, like maybe quite a few of my
friends got married in their 20sand it was pretty normal to do
that. And we're, but as we got older,
as the economy changed, as like things change, we're getting
married later and later, like myGen.
C Co workers are now attending Bachelorette parties and doing

(03:21):
all these different things in their 30s while I was having
those experiences in my 20s. And I think, you know, so the
sensibility has changed. And so the audience is older,
but then people judge older people.
Like there's an expectation thatyou need to be like youthful and
stuff. And so that's what the drama
with this, the Mormon wires comes in because they're like
young, these girls are like 20 something and they only have

(03:43):
like 5 or 6 kids. And and like our divorcee, love
and light, love and light to them.
But like, yeah, our divorcee is by like 21, which is nuts.
And then we had Taylor, who we know every like if if Taylor was
a woman of color, we would not be accepting this.
But Taylor has been arrested, has two baby daddies, has a self

(04:05):
swinging scandal. So she admitted she slept with
some with Miranda and other people and had a scandal.
She is she has a toxic baby daddy, Dakota, who is not
helpful. She has a terrible family and
then Yup, great TV because we'rerooting for her.
Like at the end, J I'm rooting for Taylor and I'm like, go for

(04:26):
it. And I don't expect her to get
married, which I needed to do. So I expect her to just like go
have sex and go have fun in the whatever the the windmill is.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The fantasy suites.
Yeah, for some reason, Taylor like she just seems to be like a
natural reality TV star, whereasI think a lot of the other
secret lives of Mormon wives girls, like I think that they

(04:49):
are putting it on a lot. And for some reason Taylor is, I
just feel like she's like, this is how it is with all of the the
swinging stuff. She kept being like, why are you
guys lying? Like this is just like what it
is like this is I just feel likeshe's like really truthful,
which is like kind of crazy because you're right, she does

(05:09):
have like a shady past. But yeah, I'm just shocked
because they are clearly making a play to make this younger and
to to capture an audience. And the Christian values.
