(00:00):
We're going to talk about kind of this staying home, really
hyper curated clean girl aesthetic and how that's kind of
creeped into social media, how content creators and
influencers, celebrities kind ofemulate that.
And just kind of what that meansfor, I don't know, the political
(00:20):
climate and stuff like that. How it just like all ties
together basically. And I was really inspired
because this is something I havebeen talking about in my real
life a lot. But then you wrote in your sub
stack, yes, in March about this. And I was like, oh, perfect.
I have the perfect person to talk about this one.
Yeah. It's so crazy too.
(00:42):
I feel like, yeah, there's like the collective consciousness,
like we're all kind of feeling it.
Like we're very burnt out with this, like prim improper
culture, like just being so perfect.
It's just we're done with that. Like, I feel like 2025, we need
to get back to like the Sex and the City era and just like
living life and being messy and just like having more fun, you
(01:03):
know? 100% I really like, I'm kind of
not like grieving or, and not, not necessarily like regretting
seems like a heavy word, but like I kind of am like
regretting. Like I feel like in my 20s
especially, it was very much this.
And I feel like now in my 30s, I've like really taken a turn to
(01:27):
be like, I don't want to do any of that anymore because it is so
boring. Yeah, it is.
And soul sucking to be honest. 100%.
So we're not here to like RIP onanybody because I actually still
really, I feel like identify with this person And I don't
(01:48):
even know if it's like me specifically or just again,
because I'm influenced by the content that I'm served on
TikTok and stuff like that. But we're not here to like shit
on anybody's personal aesthetic or anything like that.
We're just going to talk about the kind of like what it is,
what the experience is and why how it has really impacted our
(02:09):
lives with like people feeling lonely and isolated and stuff.
Right. And I think, and I I touched on
it on my sub stack too of like, of course, I feel like being you
are similar where it's like, yeah, I love definitely love
like the clean girl aesthetic. I love, like Wellness, I love, I
love all that stuff. But I think there needs to just
be balanced. Like you can't always be in the
(02:31):
house drinking green tea and a face mask.
Like there has to be some duality to our lives.
And I think especially with Gen.Z, I'm seeing it so much where
like, they literally don't do anything that it is like, I
don't want to say fun, but yeah,it's just, it's just such AI
don't know. It's just generational.
And I'm just like, it makes me sad.
And I'm like, well, This is why you guys are so lonely or, you
(02:54):
know, most people are just so lonely right now.
It's because they're just not doing.
They're not having that correct balance in their lives.
So again, yeah, it's not about judging anyone.
It's just about like, let's let's have both.
Let's let's let's be both. 100% yeah.
I, I actually feel like you and I are hitting our stride with
both 'cause I'm the same. Like of course I want to
(03:15):
prioritize Wellness and well-being and reflection and,
and health, like health and stuff like that.
Like all of the reading, all of those things extremely
important. But it's the way that myself,
and I feel like a lot of other women especially, have leaned
into it so hard that I'm like, let's go on a Bender.
(03:39):
Yes, like exactly. Yeah, I don't know, It makes me
sad when my sister, like on a Friday night, we'll be like,
what's everyone up to? And she's like, I'm journaling.
And she, to be fair to her, she it's been about a year now, but
she got into a really bad car accident.
So I do think she's like still coming out of that.
But I'm like, yeah, girl, it's Friday night.
You're 29. Yeah.
(04:01):
To the bar. Exactly, exactly so.
Kind of what we're talking and about is yeah, I think there's a
lot of ways to like word it. I think clean girl aesthetic or
like Wellness culture bettering yourself kind of is the same.
But it's just really, I think puts a lot of pressure on people
(04:21):
to, yeah, be perfect and not be cringe and isolate because a lot
of the activities that they're promoting are isolating.
The time it takes to be this girl isolates you because it
takes so much upkeep. And like, I think that a lot of
like people will know what we'retalking about, but it's like the
(04:43):
the content that's like you go to work or like you probably go
to a Pilates, yeah. No, like literally the standard
tick tock template routine. Waking up at 5:00 AM, going to a
hot yoga Pilates class, having this super like intense like
(05:03):
healthy breakfast and like 80 supplements and a green juice.
Like it's just so much. And again, like I said, I have
my own morning routine that I love, but then when it gets to
Friday, I'm hitting up the girls.
