(00:00):
Welcome to real beauty with FDA.
This is season four.
This is the grand finale.
As we continue our conversationwith gem Michelle, which we will
dive into in just a second.
I hope everyone's had an awesomeweek and do not fret.
I will be back with season fiveand just a couple of weeks, I

(00:23):
have been busy recording, um,some great guests, which I am
really, really pumped aboutsharing with you all.
I do just want to give a shoutout and a recommendation for M K
browse.
That are based just off of dairyAshford and I 10 in Houston.
They offer microblading andpermanent makeup services.

(00:45):
Which this is the second timeI've gone from microblading
services.
It has been about 14, 15 monthssince the last time I went and
she is awesome.
One of my best friendsrecommended me to her and I was
definitely not disappointed.
So I went back again just to geta touch-up.
Um, so anyway, I just wanted togive them a shout out.

(01:08):
Awesome.
Very reasonably priced as well, which makes a huge difference.
So anyway without further dolet's crack on with part two of
Jen, michelle

Jenn (01:22):
But it took a long time to get to here.
You know what I mean?
So, um, yeah, it's, you know, itis what you put into it

francene (01:30):
a hundred percent.
Um, that's awesome.
So when, so I guess looking atmakeup for more on TV, How
different is it applying thatmakeup to like every day?
Cause I can imagine with thelights, with everything, like on
your face and especially nowlike TVs, like high definition,

(01:53):
I can imagine it's so much

Jenn (01:54):
more.
Yes.
Yeah.
I mean, honestly, I don't feelpressure.
I really like, I love what I do.
Like I know when I'm on set, itI'm in a blessing.
Right.
Because I prayed for this.
I prayed for these moments.
Right.
So I'm living in my blessingsand that's how I feel like I get
excited in the beginning.
I used to get nervous and I'mlike, oh my God.
But you build confidence as youinvest in yourself, you build

(02:17):
confidence as when you see yourwork.
Like I do.
I think I'm the best makeup.
No.
I know there's a lot of towns inmakeup artists.
Right.
But I know nobody will outworkme.
Right.
I know my service that I give istop-notch right.
And I also know that I'mconstantly working on my craft,
so like, I don't really getnervous anymore.

(02:38):
I really, I just love what I doand you see it in my work.
Um, but on air makeup isdefinitely different.
The lighting is different.
Um, you have to be a little bitmore precise when it comes to
like eye shadow.
I end with that.
Um, I don't like to go superheavy with blush or bronzers
because what it will look likewith, um, lighting could look

(02:59):
crazy.
Um, but it's really, it's mysavor.
It it's truly, truly my favoritemakeup.
I love bridal makeup as well.
I just love the softness, thereal femininity of like
beautiful bridal makeup.
I love that.
Um, editorial work, um, makeupis fun because it's edgy.
It takes you out of your comfortzone and being super creative

(03:21):
and everyday makeup.
I can literally teach a class toshow you how to do your face in
10 minutes, you know?
Um, cause that's all you need.
You don't need a lot to everyday.
You just need the.
So, um, yeah, it's more aboutbeing heavy handed and knowing
how lighting hits, but, um, no,I don't get nervous anymore.
I truly feel grateful.
Like for every opportunity I I'mstill working on.

(03:44):
I just feel like I remember mystruggles.
So to be in, um, in a pointwhere I can pick the things that
I want to do is, is truly ablessing.

francene (03:54):
Yeah.
It's awesome.
I feel like the passion asyou're talking, um, Oh, it's
very infectious, so, okay.
I'm going to ask a more selfishquestion.
So as you're looking at makeupwe're, so I work in corporate,
um, I worked for an oil and gascompany.

(04:14):
So a lot of the meetings I havenowadays are via zoom and where
I sit in the office.
Cause I'm obviously at homeright now, the lying is
horrific.
So tell me for the everydayperson, when I'm in a zoom
meeting, how can I make my facepop?
Like, what would

Jenn (04:34):
you suggest her last?
Get that BB cream?
I telling you it's literallycould use a Wicker.
Now I'm telling you, you will beJen and you can message me like
if you need help with matchingI'm spot on with that stuff.
So anyway, I can help you justask me, um, I say a good the BB

(04:55):
cream, just for some coverage.
Cause you don't want to looklike you're going out.
You just want to do a quicklittle pick me up, right?
Although mascara, maybe a touchof just like a little touch on
your, on your cheeks.
If you prefer bronzer or moreblush girls, some people are
both and just like a liquid.
Something quick, easy, a quickpick me up.
It looks nice.
Um, and you look fresh face.

(05:16):
I always recommend stuff likethat for zoom.
I mean, I literally have nomakeup, no makeup on right now.
I'm actually.
I'm actually too much pregnantright now.
So I'm super nauseous all daylong.
I have no energy to even try tobe pretty right now.
So it's like the nerve of me.
I'm talking about beauty,

francene (05:37):
but um, oh my God.
If anyone could see you rightnow, cause they know I don't use
the video, but you lookincredible.
So

Jenn (05:45):
thank you.

francene (05:48):
Congratulations.
So maybe feeling nauseous like.

Jenn (05:54):
Am I, what are you super excited?
I was super surprised and superexcited.
I have three girls already.
Um, so I thought I was done, butGod planned for me.
Um, and a baby is always ablessing.
I'm really excited.
I think having a big family,it's just, I come from a big
family, so it's nice.

(06:15):
You know, keep it going.
I'm really excited because youknow, I'm older now.
So I feel like, um, I look atpregnancy even more different
than when I did, when I did havemy, I mean, it was always
special, but now it's like, I'mliving every moment, you know?
I feel like we don't appreciate, not that we don't appreciate
things when they're younger, butI don't think we've realized how

(06:37):
intense.
Things are, when you thinkyou're really not gonna have any
more babies milling.
Nope.
I got a different plan for youJad.
Okay.
So yeah, but I'm super excited, super excited.
I can't wait and Hey,

francene (06:51):
at least you've been through it, like, you know what
to expect.

Jenn (06:54):
Yes.
It's a, it's a good thing and abad thing.
So I don't want to think about,yeah, don't,

francene (07:01):
don't think about that.
Um, so tell me more about theglam life beauty collection.

Jenn (07:08):
So the glam like beauty collection, it is just an array
of makeup that is for makeupartists and makeup lovers.
Um, it's cruelty.
I have bronzer.
Palish blessed, blush palettes, highlighters, lip liners, all
different types of, um,lipsticks, lip, glosses, matte,

(07:30):
shiny moisturizing, all thatgood stuff.
I shadow palettes.
I'm having to write lashes.
And then I also haveaccessories.
I'm a big accessory girl.
I'm all into like that.
Good Juju.
Having good spirits.
Yeah, I have a lot of evil eyethings.
Um, and then I have a reallygreat detangle brush.
Um, the only way I can explainit is if you ever used a wet

(07:50):
brush, it's similar to a wetbrush.
I think, cause it's mine.
I feel that it's better.
I it's good for all hair typesand it's good for hair
extensions.
So it's just the perfect brush.
And then I have kids.
So I kind of tested out on mydaughters.
They have thick hair and they'rekids, so they actually love my
brush.
All my friends that bought it,all their husbands or

(08:13):
boyfriends, they will take thebrush.
It's so funny.
Cause everyone loves this brush.
It's such a great brush.
So, um, yeah, I have, well, thatstuff I'm looking to, I don't
know if being pregnant, I'vebeen feeling like I have to put
out stuff for new moms, um,expecting, expecting moms.
I'm so sorry.
Hey, you're good.

(08:34):
Okay.
Or expecting moms that I, I, mymind is always in business.
Cause I just love what I do.
So now I'm like, okay, maybethis is a reason for me to, so I
don't know yet, but, um, That'sGlen life beauty.
Um, but it's growing.
It's something really great.
And I love my brand.
So, um, I'm really excited thatI'm able to share it with

(08:56):
everybody.
And we've been really busy thisyear.
We really picked up, I rebrandedduring COVID and you know, I
just added so many, really like,so many great products to the
line and it's.
Everyday women, but you get morefor your money.
So like, one of my pallets hasabout 36 colors.
You have your neutrals, you havesome shimmery, you have some

(09:17):
glitter, you know, it's goodfor, I think, of the everyday
person and what they need, youknow?
So like my bronzer palette, mybronzer palette, you can use it
on your face, but you can alsouse as eye shadow.
Cause everyone loves neutrals.
You know?
Um, my, my lip glosses, honestly, and it's not because
they're mine, but they're justso good.
I love a good news.

(09:38):
I have a lot of nudey colors andI have your fun colors.
But the one thing about my lipsthat I love is that there's no
mind you ever wore makeup thatwhen you have it puts the line
around the rim of I can't.
Yeah.
So, you know, and like my bloodand my products are bigger, so

(09:58):
they're not where you get alittle.
So for your money, I really tryto think of the everyday person.
So I use my products onset andalso, um, I do educate makeup
and hair classes as well.
So I use my products in theretoo, because my products laughs
you know, and yeah, no,

francene (10:17):
that's awesome.
And I think, you know, theamount of times I bought
something online and it turns upand you spend a good amount and
it turns up and it's super smalland I'm like, Well, that's
annoying.

Jenn (10:29):
Yes.
It's super pigmented as well.
And you get, um, which, youknow, the products are good.
They, they last long.
Um, right now I'm looking I'mabout to have setting sprays.
So I'm excited about that.
So that's next?

francene (10:46):
Yes.
And actually I need to buy asetting spray.
Do you know what I used to dowhen I was younger?
This is probably the worst thingto admit to a makeup artist.
But, um, when I was growing up,we would set our makeup using
hairspray.

Jenn (11:00):
Really?
No, I've never heard of that.
That's so funny.
I could tell you one that youcould get now.
Everyone loves it.
I have it in my kit.
It's the Morphe luminous spray.
It's smells so good.
Every time I use it, everyone'slike that smells so good.
So who don't love something thatsmells good putting on their
face, but, um, and it lastslong.

(11:22):
If you want something a littlebit more.
Um, where you can kind of makeyour face more matte.
Um, the urban decay, all nighteris a really great setting spray
as well.
Awesome.

francene (11:32):
That's great.
Um, and I also saw just looking,um, at your kind of online
story, you have a beautyblender.
Um, so do you want to go intothis in a bit more detail?
Cause I, I mean I have one and,um, I'll definitely purchase the
brush and this as well, but yousee the benefits of a blend.
Yeah.

Jenn (11:53):
I love my beauty blender.
One thing about me is before Iput anything out to the world,
And I am my biggest critic.
I go in as if I hate this brand, right.
Because I have to be ready forthat.
Right.
That's just the part of the, part of the game.
Right.
But my beauty blender is so niceand soft.

(12:14):
You know how sometimes I feelbad because I don't want to, I
don't want to down talk anybrands, but this is just my
opinion, but like realtechniques, real techniques has
the orange beauty blenders.
They're great.
But I feel like they're alittle.
I hear

francene (12:28):
you.
Yes.

Jenn (12:29):
Right?
Yeah.
So what mine, it's soft.
You can use it, you can cleanit, right.
Because if it's for your face.
Right.
But they're nice and soft andit's easy to blend, you know,
you, you put a little water init.
It, yeah.
Blend.
It's just such a nice softapplication, but easy to blend.
It's the softness that makes itmove around your face easier.
Um, I love my beauty blenders.

(12:49):
They, I literally sell out ofthose.
I have makeup bags too withlike, stuff like that.
So usually like when people buylike a certain amount of stuff,
I usually throw in a makeup bag, like stuff like that, but the
beauty blenders are.
Phenomenal.
Um, sometimes I don't use themsometimes.
I just use my brushes becauseI'm a makeup artist.
So I was kind of taught not touse them.
Beauty blenders kind of came outwhen I was already involved in

(13:11):
makeup.
Um, but it's quicker.
So let's say you get yourprolapse, your BB cream, put it
down, put a little bit on it.
It's just an easier blend.
Um, but it's really nice andsoft there.
Honestly.
My favorite bit, I w I won'teven use another beauty blender.
That's how.
I'm definitely

francene (13:29):
going to buy a couple of

Jenn (13:30):
them.

francene (13:32):
Okay.
So looking at the women, warriors collab, tell me about
this.
And I love the fact.
Um, so I'm just going read kindof what I wrote down.
It says no blessing blockingaloud.
I love this.
And like slaying your goals, supporting fellow women.
Oh my God.
Tell me about.
Thank

Jenn (13:52):
you.
So women warriors collab is kindof like my baby.
It is something that I alwayswanted to do.
I kind of that we had our firstevent and I literally, the first
thing I said, when I lookedaround the room is like, I
manifested this, you know, and Igot choked up because I remember
when I was at a point wherethis, again, this was a dream,

(14:16):
right?
This was something I wanted todo, but it seemed so far fetched
who would want to be part of my.
Right like that, you know?
Cause he, the things that we gothrough.
Right.
Um, so I was noticing my careerwas really starting to.
Come around.
And a lot of the women that Iserve as a women in business or
women that want to start inbusiness.
So I would always kind of giveadvice like, as I'm doing hair

(14:38):
and makeup, or I was always thefriend that empowered my other
girlfriends, you know, I'm just,I don't know.
I think I'm just innately builtwith confidence.
It's just in my, it's just who Iam.
I don't know.
Maybe it's because I'm a Leo, Idon't know, but it's just like
who I am.
Um, So with the women wise andlike, you know what, I'm at a
point where I had.

(15:00):
A lot of clients now that Ithink could benefit from one
another, you know, and let's saygirls or women that want to
start something, why not be apart of this group because I
came from not having, knowinganyone.
Right.
And your network is everythingright.
And I, one thing I made it apoint to be no nonsense.

(15:20):
I didn't want to be somethingthat was clique-y in there.
I want it to be a space wherewomen can.
Uh, where they know they'resupported, they're not judged.
Um, so we have monthly meetings.
It'll be different topics.
Um, it's all motivational stuffin the chat in Facebook.
I also have an Instagram for it.
Um, and then we do stuff.

(15:41):
So like for example, when I hadthe women warrior.
Um, has some of the proceeds hadwent to cancer, right?
Because it was an October.
My mom is a three time cancersurvivor.
I have multiple family memberswho have passed away from
cancer.
So it was something that waslike really dear to my heart,
um, doing that.

(16:01):
Um, I have women in the group.
Our advocates for domesticviolence.
So gossip is somebody in thatgroup is going through
something.
We have this group now thatpeople have helped in not just
in business, just, you know, sofrom women warriors, I actually
have a smaller group called mygrowth group.
Um, my growth group is.
Um, a very intimate group ofgirls.

(16:23):
It, you have to kind of beinterviewed to make sure you're
the right fit because we talkabout everything.
Um, but it's basically mindsetgrowth, inspiration.
We, I helped these girlsjournal, um, just to help them
be the best possible versions ofthemselves.
And these are all entrepreneurs.
These are women, some heavyhitters women that are doing big

(16:43):
things, but I wind up fromthere.
Some of the women warriors nowthat want to have a little bit
more of an intense one-on-one.
So I got into one-on-oneempowerment, coaching from this,
and it's like a part it's.
I, I love it.
I love watching these girlsgrow.
I love watching them, you know, hit certain goals that in the
beginning it was just somethingthey wrote about in their

(17:04):
journal.
You know what I mean?
And now they're like, oh my God.
And I see it firsthand.
So, um, they're also part of mywomen warriors and, you know,
um, It's just uplifting women.
And I always say like, noblessing blockers.
The reason why I say that isthere's no room for hate when
there's so much room for growth, you know?
Um, I'm a big advocate, youknow, I have three daughters

(17:25):
that are watching me.
Right.
So.
I want them to see like, listen,my season 10 is not your season
one and that's okay.
Cause I was at season one, youknow what I mean?
And my little ones now they'restarting to make their own lip
scrubs and they're starting towant to do, you know, and
they're young.
So I bring them with me topop-up shops.

(17:46):
I still do pop up shops at myGran.
I love getting my brand outthere and I'll bring them with
me and let them.
Sell their stuff, because I wantthem to see that with the women
warriors, they know about womenwarriors, you know, some zooms,
I won't let them be around.
If I know it's something, youknow, um, that at a young age,
you don't need to know about tosometimes be dive deep.

(18:06):
Um, but it's whatever resonates, you know, I have a woman in my
group who is so remarkable, she's an author and.
She is a survivor of, you know, incest, pedophilia, domestic
violence, like all the thingsthat should have broke her.
She actually now has a home forwomen to go to if they're
asleep, you know?
So these are the type of womenthat are in this group, you

(18:28):
know?
Um, just it's, it's just soinspiring because it really is a
space where people feel safe andI love that.
I was able to create that.
Um, and I love seeing thesewomen like.
You know, cause that's what'shappening, you know, it's so
patched, you know, you can do somuch on your own, but when you
come together, it'sunforeseeable.
It's, it's just, there's nothingthat can't have.

(18:51):
Yeah,

francene (18:51):
gosh, I love this so much.
I feel like I need to like, godo something after this.
I'm like,

Jenn (18:58):
let's do this.
You can even sit like, you know, come into the Facebook group if
there's ever well, yeah.
You know, come in and join us.
You're even if you want to comeinto one of our, um, my growth
group, we do six 30 in themorning.
I know it's early, but if, evenif you wanted to come in on
Monday, let me know.
I'll send you the link.
Speaker.
And there, um, this woman, another author from Georgia,

(19:20):
who's one of my clients.
He turns into a friend.
Um, but she has amazing gems todrop in her energy.
You won't mind waking up earlyto hear her talk because she's
just such a force.
So I'll definitely, if you wantto do it, reach out to me, I'll
give you the exome.
Oh,

francene (19:34):
well, thank you so much.
Yeah.
I mean, if anything better thanour Monday morning kicking off
and being like, yes, I feel likeI can literally speak to you for
hours.
I'm definitely on the side.
I feel like there's way morequestions I want to ask.
Um, but, um, in being consciousof time, um, what I normally do

(19:58):
is a quick fire round.
So what pops into your head?
Just say.
And I feel like this firstquestion is probably
inappropriate.
Cause you said you're two monthspregnant, but I'm going to ask
it anyway.
Wait, your favorite cocktail.

Jenn (20:14):
Oh, my favorite cocktail.
Um, oh my God.
If you noticed, I haven't drankin two months, what do I wish
that I could have?
What are you going to add?
Like a dirty martini and good, dirty martini.
I love olives.

francene (20:34):
I'm always like very in awe of someone that has like
a martini.
I want to be that.
Um, what is your most usedemoji?

Jenn (20:45):
I think the one with the two hearts on the eyes.
Yeah.

francene (20:51):
Um, if you were a sex and Satan character, who would
you be?

Jenn (20:56):
Oh, my God.
I don't know.
I think I'm like, I feel likeI'm a little bit of Carrie, you
know, like, but then I feel likeat times when I was younger, I
was a little bit of a Samantha.
I don't know.
I feel like I'm a mixture ofboth.
I don't know.
I would be own.
Thanks.

francene (21:17):
We'll take it.
You could pick only two skincareproducts or makeup products.
What would they be?

Jenn (21:25):
Um, I would definitely pick the prolapse, the BB cream,
because you, you always needed alittle bit of something.
Um, and I would say my lipgloss, uh, right now my favorite
college chai, and I literallycan't go anywhere without it.
It's like a perfect Nudie gloss.

francene (21:39):
Awesome.
I will add that to my list aswell.
And I go and pick out somepurchases.
Um, if you could be anyone forthe

Jenn (21:47):
day, who would you be?
Um, I'm going to say J-Lo I justalways loved her, um,
everything, her style, her swagI'm from New York.
So I feel like I got her.
I would say her just for oneday.
I would love to see what it'slike.

francene (22:02):
Um, so question on that.
Have you tried any of her beautyproducts?

Jenn (22:06):
I have not

francene (22:09):
one too.
I'm really curious.

Jenn (22:11):
The only thing I use is Inglot a few years ago she did,
um, a collab with them and itwas like a J-Lo shimmer and it
was, oh yeah, I remember that.
Yeah, I will.
I'm like, so I'm so picky when Iuse it.
Cause I don't know if they makeit anymore, but that was, that
was like phenomenal.

(22:32):
I mean, her skin is just, Imean, she's just absolutely
stunning, but I haven't used herskin right now.
I'm really loving my keel.
I don't know, I just feel supermoisturized within just so
that's what I've been using.

francene (22:45):
Um, okay.
What is your life motto or anyphrases that you live by?

Jenn (22:52):
Wow.
I don't

francene (22:53):
feel like you've already said so many, to be
honest.

Jenn (22:58):
I don't know right now, I guess what I kind of go by is
kind of what's for you will, youknow, what's meant for, you will
always come to you, you know?
Um, You know, especially when Ifound out I was pregnant, you
know, I'm in such a good placein my career that I said to my
husband, like, oh my God, I'm insuch a good place.
That would, if people don't wantto work with me, these are the
things that are, I, I don't wantto lie.

(23:18):
I'm like, you know, we wouldknow these are things that I
thought of, you know, and, andhe's like, Jen, what do you tell
them?
You know what I'm like, no,you're right.
You know, so I'm like, okay, reality check.
But, and it's true, you know, what's for, you will always come
to you, you, it doesn't matter.
That's why you can show love.
You can clap for other people.
You don't have to be jealous orenvious because your season is
coming, you know?

francene (23:40):
No.
Oh my gosh.
A hundred percent.
I love that so much.
Oh, my gosh, you have just mademe feel so positive and I feel
like the person, but, um, Idon't know.
There's something like veryglobal and like passionate and
infectious.
So thank you so much for takingthe time to speak with me today.
Um, For everyone listening, please, please go follow Jen

(24:04):
Michelle.
So it's on Instagram.
Jan is with two ends and thenit's under scroll, um, glam
life.
And then we also mentioned theglam life beauty collection, and
then the women warriorscollapsed.
