Chapter 8 - Are you worthy of your goals? The most powerful revelation that changed everything for me came when my coach said I'd need to leave behind 50-80% of who I am to achieve my biggest aspirations.

This revelation forms the foundation of true goal setting. If your goal doesn't simultaneously excite and terrify you, it's not big enough. If you already know exactly how to achieve it, it's merely a task, not a transformative goal.

You simply cannot reach extraordinary destinations from your current state of being. Instead of working toward your goal, try coming from your goal—embodying the future self who has already achieved it.

The internal voices that keep us trapped in mediocrity are relentless: "What if I fail?" "Who am I to want more?" "I don't have enough experience." Feel the fear and act anyway. Discomfort isn't just normal on the path to achievement—it's necessary. As you get comfortable being uncomfortable, extraordinary things happen. 

Focus on getting just 1% better each day, and soon you'll need a telescope to see the person you once were.

Are you worthy of your goals, and that's what I
want to talk about today.
You know, it hit me differentlythis year when my coach said to
me that you're going to need toleave behind 50 to 80% of who
you are in order to hit your biggoal.
Now, have you set a goal that'sworthy of you, meaning one that

both excites and terrifies you?
You see, you have no idea howit's going to happen, you just
want it and you want to make ithappen.
Now, this is an actual goal.
Now, if you know how to get toyour goal, or if you've done it
before, it's not a good goal.

You see, reaching the goal, aworthy goal, is the side effect.
It's who you become in theprocess.
That's the true win.
You will not get to where youwant to be from who you are
today.
You will not get to where youwant to be from who you are
today.
Again, you will not get towhere you want to go from who

you are today.
You will need to create a newversion of yourself, a version
that makes much of who you aretoday obsolete.
Now stick with me.
Let's say you had ninetransactions or sales last year

and your goal is now 25transactions or more, with the
same habits, beliefs, self-image, attitude, and standards and
disciplines you have.
So what are you going to dodifferently and what would it
look like if you came from yourgoal instead of working to or

towards your goal?
What does the version of youwho sells 25 or more do?
What time do they get up?
What training are they taking?
What do they fuel their bodieswith and how much do they
exercise?
How do they invest inthemselves?
What does their bank accountlook like?

What calls are they making?
That keeps the current versionof you stuck?
What does their calendar looklike?
What excuses are they no longeraccepting?
What rooms are they in?
What are they saying no to?
Who do they surround themselveswith?
What conversations are theyhaving?

(02:46):
What boundaries are in place toget it done, and who are their
coaches and mentors?
Stop letting the voices insideof your head keep you stuck.
The ones that say what if Imess up?
What if they say no?
What will those people say Idon't know what to do.

(03:07):
Who am I to insert limitingbelief?
That won't really work.
What I have is good enough.
Who am I to think I deserve orwant more?
I don't really need that.
They will never hire me.
I don't know what I'm doing, Idon't have enough experience.

(03:29):
Feel the fear and do it anywayNow.
Does your goal expand you ordoes it contract you?
How do you feel it shouldexpand and excite you?
This is a huge clue to followyour intuition and take a chance

(03:49):
, the next step.
You don't need to see the topof the staircase, you just need
to take the first step and thenext will follow.
And if you aren't uncomfortable, nothing changes.
It's getting comfortable, beinguncomfortable that allows for
greatness to happen.
You will not achieve your goalsif they are big goals, from

(04:13):
where and who you are today.
So let me ask you what 50 to80% of how you show up today are
you going to replace with abigger version of yourself?
Focus on competing withyourself in beating yesterday's
best and you will win.

(04:35):
Get 1% better every day bybeating your personal best.
If you do this, you will need atelescope to look back and see
who you once were.
That's what Bob Proctor told me, and it's so true.
And if I can do it, you can doit, and that's a promise I can

(04:56):
and will make.
So take action.
The action step for this lessonis to set a goal that you want
and desire.
You should not know how it'sgoing to happen.
If you know how to achieve it,it's not a big enough goal.
So think about that.

The only prerequisite is foryou to have the desire or the
want.
The how will show up.
The how is really none of yourbusiness.
So set your goal and come fromyour goal.
What does that version of youlook like?
Who's congratulating you?

(05:38):
Who's waiting at that 25 dealsand what are they saying?
Who's clapping for you?
Who's in your corner?
Think about it from that pointof view and I promise you, if
you show up every day and takeaction as if you have already
sold the 25 and you take actionand motivation, set your

standards, create yourdisciplines from that place, you
will win.
You can take action and starttoday.
It's a beautiful thing and Ican't wait to hear the stories
of the successes.
