The unexpected turns our lives take often reveal the true nature of our work and purpose. As we launch Season 8 of Real Talk with Life After Grief, we're taking a reflective journey through our most impactful conversations while sharing how grief work continues to evolve in surprising ways.

This season represents a special dedication to our most popular episodes, reimagined with video elements and deeper insights. What began as a podcast about helping clients navigate financial matters during grief has expanded into something far more profound. From facilitating difficult family conversations to supporting clients through major life transitions beyond finance, the work continues to evolve in ways I never anticipated when starting this journey.

Among our most requested episodes: conversations about losing a spouse with Daniel Kopp, MA, MS, CFP®, MQFP® preventing grief with Heidi Burnett, transforming debt with Elizabeth Ramos, and powerful discussions with organizations like Modern Widows Club. Each episode reflects our commitment to authentic dialogue about grief's complex relationship with finances and well-being. Recently, my role has expanded in surprising ways – helping a longtime client who can no longer drive after a serious accident, and even being subpoenaed in a legal matter affecting a client. These experiences continually reshape my understanding of what it truly means to support someone through grief.

Join us as we revisit these essential conversations with fresh perspective. Whether you're navigating grief yourself or helping others through it, this season offers valuable insights into the emotional and financial dimensions of life's most challenging transitions. Connect with us at LifeAfterGriefFP.com if you're seeking financial guidance during grief, or LifeAfterGriefConsulting.com if you're an advisor looking to better serve clients in mourning.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Hello and welcome to season eight of Real Talk with
Life After Grief, chris, andthis has been a journey and it's
been a little bit of a delay.
Getting back to this season, asyou can imagine, I've had some
more life events.
I'll get into that in just asecond.

(00:57):
This season is kind of adedication to some of the most
popular episodes.
I was asked last season if Icould do sort of a reboot with
some video and some other coolthings that I've picked up along
the way of my most popularepisodes.

(01:18):
I had to go back in the vaultand I had to put some numbers
behind because there's been alot of episodes.
My most popular episode by faris my Real Talk with Life After
Grief introductory episode.
I find it interesting becauseit's about me.
Second most popular is LifeAfter Losing a Spouse with
Daniel Kopp.
And the third, which isinteresting, it is an episode

(01:41):
called Allow Me to ReintroduceMyself and it's a little bit
more of a growth episode from myintroductory episode after I
learned a few more things aboutmyself A conversation with
someone who prevents grief, withHeidi Burnett, one of my good
friends she calls me her BFF andthen another friend of mine,
and it is debt survivor turnedcoach, elizabeth Ramos, and

(02:04):
another episode that I did iscalled how Do I Grieve.
Another episode called CompleteGratitude, and this one's a
pretty cool one Modern WidowsClub with Carolyn Moore.
She's a very dynamic lady.
And then A Mother's Grief withLisa McFarland.
She has released a bookrecently that I read.
It was a very, very good bookthat I was able to read and she

(02:27):
was gracious to bestow thewisdom upon me.
Ten was Ending the Family Feudwith my Brother some real life
tips and tools.
And then actually it was 11,fireside Chat with Student
Athlete Luca D.
That was last season with myseries with some tips for young
folks and some of the things Iguess since last episode is life

(02:52):
would have it, and I find someof these things very interesting
.
After I created my business, Inever would have thought life,
in terms of doing right byclients, you know, circulates
and kind of involves me toanother level, and so the bread

(03:13):
and butter of what I do is Ihelp clients in grief and their
transitions with money.
However, what I have come tofind out and I'll give you a
couple of examples is that I hada client that has transitioned
from no longer driving anymoreand has come to really rely upon

(03:33):
me with a lot of things that gobeyond finance.
I'm happy to do it because he'sbeen a dear friend for probably
more than 20 years a dearfriend for probably more than 20
years.
He just had a medical eventthat precluded him from driving
and he had a serious accident.
Thank God he's okay.

(03:54):
Another client of mine in thecourse of doing business I was
subpoenaed for, not by my clientbut a third party that is, a
defendant in a lawsuit that didsome nefarious things.
I kind of brought light to someof those things and I was
subpoenaed for that.

(04:14):
It got under my skin because Ihave to spend some time and
energy to do that.
But some of those things areabove and beyond what I would
have initially thought.
But it's kind of what I do.
I guess I get into real lifesituations that I can pass on to
some other folks.
With that being said, I hopeyou like some of the reboots of
some of these episodes and kindof what comes to light.

(04:37):
Cheers, be well and see you onthe next episode.
