Our paths crossed during my time in the Global Sustainability Program at UCLA, where Lucia and I connected amidst life's challenges. We were both navigating the complexities of divorce, and Lucia, a beacon of spirituality, introduced me to a transformative Temazcal ceremony with her Native American friends in the mountains of Ojai, California. The experience was nothing short of life-altering. Inspired by Lucia's journey, I witnessed her embark on a vision quest, spending three days alone in the mountains, devoid of food nor water, communing with the spirit world. Witnessing her resilience, I knew her energy was a force I needed in my life. Lucia approaches everything with her whole being, and her strength has always been an inspiration to me. Lucia is passionate about yoga, art, gardening, sustainability, politics, justice, spirituality and the pursuit of living her truth on this journey we call life. She is feisty, funny, loveable and unapologetically Italian. In my opinion we need more women like Lucia in leadership positions.
