Magic systems are the beating heart of many beloved anime series, determining not just how battles unfold but often shaping entire worlds and societies. What makes powers like Nen, Cursed Energy, and Alchemy so compelling? We're breaking down the rules, limitations, and pure spectacle that define anime's most creative supernatural frameworks.

Starting with Hunter x Hunter's meticulously crafted Nen system, we explore why its six distinct categories and clear progression create such a satisfying power structure. When comparing this to Jujutsu Kaisen's visually stunning but somewhat less defined cursed energy, interesting patterns emerge about what makes certain systems feel more coherent than others. The discussion heats up when we contrast Bleach's soul-based abilities with Black Clover's grimoire powers, highlighting how different approaches to fantasy magic can still create compelling storytelling frameworks.

The conversation takes unexpected turns through Fairy Tail's friendship-powered magic, One Piece's Devil Fruits, and Fullmetal Alchemist's scientifically-grounded alchemy, revealing our surprising picks for most well-constructed systems. We even debate whether having an overpowered isekai skill tree would be preferable to a logically consistent magic system (spoiler: consistency might make better stories, but we'd all choose the skill tree for ourselves). Between passionate defenses of our favorites and brutal takedowns of systems that break their own rules, you'll walk away with fresh appreciation for the thought that goes into these supernatural frameworks. Plus, don't miss our rundown of exciting upcoming summer anime worth watching!

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Welcome to Realm Jumpers.
I'm Andrew, and this is myco-host, jordan.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Hey, everyone we're here to dive into the worlds of
fantasy and anime, bringing youepic stories and unforgettable
adventures.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
We'll be talking world building, unforgettable
villains and everything thatmakes these genres legendary.
So let's jump into the realmand everything that makes these
genres legendary.
So let's jump into the realm.
From cursed energy andsoul-binding contracts to
alchemy fueled by sacrifice andemotion-driven power surges,
anime has given us some of themost creative, complex and

(00:38):
straight-up bizarre magicsystems out there.
But what makes a magic systemgreat?
Is it the rules, the risks orjust how cool it looks when
somebody yells the name of theirattack?
Tonight we're diving into someof our favorite and probably
most debatable magic systems inanime.
Get ready to defend yourfavorites or see them get

(00:59):
obliterated in the court of hottakes.
Ooh, there's some hot takesgonna happen for sure I, I
figure I'm probably gonna getslammed for anything I say in
this one I mean, buddy, you'vebeen getting slammed about
everything.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
I don't really care?
Dude, I don't really care likelisten to what I said now.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Here's the thing listen to what I said now.
If you want to come at me afteryou've listened to what I said,
if you want to come at me withan intelligent debate about what
I said and not just Bro's dumbBro's dumb Bro has a cool hat.
Although I appreciated the oneguy on TikTok that was like

(01:40):
based Padre fan and I was likeGod damn right.
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Well, you know, welcome to the internet, right?
I disagree, you're wrongbecause I disagree with you.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Like go away, get out of here like I don't care like
they're, they're half of what wesay is meant to be debated
anyway.
And this is just ourinterpretation.
Bro, this is like.
This is our interpretation, like it's not like.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
We got it source material directly to middle-aged
dudes talking about anime likewhat are you guys talking about?

Speaker 1 (02:06):
why are you taking that serious, bro?

Speaker 2 (02:08):
we're not middle-aged oh, I'm hit, I'm knocked on the
door.
Brother right there, I'm almostthere.
Well, we got some good onesanymore.
What is middle?
Age anymore I don't know, dude.
I mean, if we're living to 100,that's 50, but we got a while
to go before that, right?

Speaker 1 (02:23):
yeah, exactly, we're nowhere.
If we're living to 100, that's50, but we got a while to go
before that, right, yeah, exactly, we're nowhere near that
we're good to go.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
We got a little bit.
We got a little bit, although, you know, if we get some magic
system, maybe we won't feelmiddle-aged anymore.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
You want me to kick this thing off?

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah, let's go.
I mean, the first one is one ofthe most unique ones ever so.
Yeah, let's go for it.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
I agree, um, so I mean, these are all off the cuff
anyways.
These are just our favorites, right again.
Yeah, let's preface that theseare our favorites.
We're not saying these are thebest magic systems ever created
or even ranking them.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
We're not ranking them either.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yeah, we're not ranking them either because if
we're, if we're gonna say bestmagic system ever created, I'm
gonna leave anime in the dustand go straight to sanderson,
like that oh, of course rightthere, absolutely, yeah, all
right, hunter, hunter and nin uh, it's got to be one of the most
uh, flashy, showy, like awesomepower systems in an anime.

(03:23):
Right, because it's pretty great, it has rules, but everybody
uses a little bit differently, but not like not so differently
where it's like they just makethat up.
You know what I mean.
It's it that nin training arc.
You know when I loved it goingand killua going to the going to

(03:44):
the tower.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Yeah, and then they're like oh my.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
God, we got to have to, we got to find somebody to
teach us about men like dude, just the.
I don't know the feeling behindthat, right, because you are
unlocked.
A whole different side of theanime, oh yeah, like you know,
they mentioned in the beginning,I think you know, in the
beginning in the six times, right, yeah at the end of the,
uh, at the end of the licensearc, like the hunter's exam arc.

(04:11):
You know they mentioned thatthey were like well, now we're
on to the, now they're on to thereal test, do you think they
know?

Speaker 2 (04:17):
and everybody was like no yeah, I mean right,
enhancement, emissiontransmutation, conjuration,
manipulation, specials, likeit's.
It's pretty dope that they andthey did really like stick to
that.
Yeah, I mean right, enhancement, emission transmutation,
conjuration, manipulation,specialization, like it's pretty
dope that they and they didreally like stick to that.
It wasn't like Naruto at onepoint did have something and
then they just bailed on it.
It was like we're throwingstars at people.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
I mean, it's pretty much where it went to.
Is Jutsu?
Well, we can debate that later, but is Jutsu really a magic
system, or jutsu really a magicsystem, or is?

Speaker 2 (04:48):
it just very flashy like a power system stuff.
Yeah, ninja arts, it's ninjaarts until you're throwing
planets.
Yeah, but no, then they reallydid stick to it and of course,
there's different uses for eachone, but it was.
It's definitely very thoughtout and really well rounded.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
That's why it's one of the my favorite ones, because
there was a lot of effort putin one of my favorite ones.
My favorite one to watch, though, was oh god I just
blanked on all the names outsideof Gon and Killua your least
favorite person, least favoriteoh Karapika, yeah, jesus

(05:24):
Karapika honestly, his name waspretty badass the deal that he
made, or whatever the deal thathe made, with himself like dude.
What a way to trick yourselfinto getting more power.
You know what I mean.
Like power.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
That contract took a long time like that.
Would have taken forever forhim to get it.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
He got it real quick, and what I want to see is I
want to see him break his ownrule and see what happens like
that's what I would like to seeout of that series does he lose?

Speaker 2 (05:50):
men all together?
Probably, I don't even know whoknows.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Right it's gonna be one of those things like oh shit
, I can't even tell you that Iwas about to say a thing from
t-bait and I'm like you're notthere yet, I can't oh don't do
not, please, please.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
It's over for now.
I'm gonna have to read it we'llsee.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Yeah, no, you definitely need to read it.
I'll buy the first book for youbut isn't there a web comic?
There's a web comic buthonestly, the.
This is one of those times whenI would say lean towards the
book I know, but it's already.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
I can't.
I'm already in way of kings.
I don't have time for anotherbook.
I'm stuck in Stormlight forprobably the next 10 years, no
it should take you less than.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
What page are you on?
Where are you on?

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Oh, I don't know I have been reading as much
because I've been writing more.
So it's the give and take thing.
Yeah, maybe 200 or something, maybe around there.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
I think we should probably rename this episode too
.
We just talk about random shitall night.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Sorry, rename this episode too.
We just talk about random shitall night, sorry, all right,
move on, move on, move on.
Next, next, next.
All right, go go ahead forcursed energy on jujitsu kaizen.
Pretty cool idea, right?

Speaker 1 (06:51):
negative emotions and stuff I mean dude I you know
more about cursed energy than Ido.
I just know that, like, although it looks very badass
and it is super cool, just thewhole magic system, not just the
cursed energy, right, but likethe entire thing looks so badass

(07:13):
.
But then you have somebody likeGojo who can make a domain and
it kind of feels like theyaren't playing with any rules at
all.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Well, the domain expansion is like the Bankai
from Bleach, it's pretty muchthat you know thing Right, but
the magic system itself withsupernatural power coming from
negative emotions of humans.
Interesting because even thoughcurses hate humans, which
they're made of cursed energy, they're only really made because
humans have negative and bademotions.

(07:47):
So if there was no humans, there probably would be no
curses right at a certain point.
But then being able to harnessthem is pretty cool, Although I
don't think there's hard rulesin it like there is in Nen.
It's not like there's one type,two type.
I think you can kind of channelthem, however, based on what
you can do, I mean gojo'sspecial that's.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
That's the cv.
That's where I start to get agripe with like magic systems
and anime in the first place.
Although jjk the again themagic system is badass, looks
very cool, I enjoy all of theepisodes, here's where I get
flamed.
I kind of feel about jjk thesame way I feel about solo
leveling.
It's badass and awesome.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
But when you really want to get into the
nitty-gritty details, jjk is notthe show for you if, yeah, if
you're gonna get into thedetails about like the world,
it's very bare bones in a waylike hey, there's curses, people
can't see them, which is kindof like bleach with the hollows.
Um, there's people who hunt way.
Like hey, there's curses, people can't see them, which is
kind of like bleach with thehollows.
Um, there's people who huntthem.
But then there's like thiswhole other stuff going on.

(08:50):
You know it does get into moredetail as it goes on later,
which is really interesting, butit takes a while to get into
that level of like the story.
For sure.
It's like towards the end thatyou start like hearing about the
out.
You know other countries, arethere cursors?
There cursors curse users, inother countries, sorcerers, I
don't know.
Yeah, Dude.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
How does that work?
Did they ever run into curseusers from America?
Cause like who are theychanneling Like the Salem
witches?

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Right, I know Right.
So the curse it does get intoit later and I think there are
some curses in differentcountries.
But there's a whole thing withamerica in the in the monk.
I don't want to spoil in themanga, that's pretty, uh, it's.
I don't want to spoil it, justsay this I will probably never
catch up look, there's oil, america's gonna go there and get
it similar.

(09:34):
Of course there is, yeah, withcursed energy type thing like oh
, we can use it for energy, yeah, oh, yeah, we're in so so we're
talking like the ending ofdevil May Cry, right, right,
right, actually in a weird waythere's demon power there, we
got to go get that.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
We got to get that, bro, we got to get that.
But you know what's funny?
That's ours.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
Yeah, right, hey, we can channel this and use it
instead of yeah, we're going todo it.
I mean it's funny because thisand Bleach are kind of back to
back on our list here andthey're literally have very
similar, I feel like, as littleas I am in bleach, I feel like
bleaches was done better again.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
Here's where I get flamed right because everybody
loves jjk.
Oh yeah, I'm with you all.
I'm with you all.
I love jjk.
That is not what I'm saying, people about magic systems here,
people, if we are getting intothe nitty-gritty of the magic
systems um jjk, is not it?
For me, it's awesome but not it.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Yeah, I mean with bleach, right.
So you have reishi, which isthe spiritual particles that
that the people use, but thereare different ones.
You're right, you got the soulreapers using zanboxos, their,
their soul sword.
That's different.
Quincy's are using arrow bowsand arrows that they're
summoning um hollows.
You know they're made of of ofthat and they're hunting.

(10:51):
You know it's, it's, it isprobably more evolved.
I would say it's more thoughtout.
Um, of course you have bonkai'sright.
The, the pinnacle of soulreaper abilities of bonkai,
their full release of theirpowers.
It's kind of like it is thoughtout, actually a little bit more
.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
I would say I'm probably gonna get flamed for
that one, but but I'm a bleachboy, get over it, motherfucker
yeah, no, no, but that's thething, like my understanding of,
of bleach right that, no matterlike the way the different
powers manifest, it still are,or it all originates from soul
power.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Yes, yeah, I mean in each soul reaper.
Yes, yeah, I mean each SoulReaper, yes, and then the
Quincy's absorb the particles inthe air.
They can literally channel itfrom the world itself and use it
as you know blasting and stufflike that.
So, yeah, I mean it.
All it's very simple in theregard of it starts there, but
then you see how it branches outinto all these different you

(11:42):
know abilities, and so I meanabilities and and some of those
keto, right, they use Aizen's abig keto user.
He uses the spells you know,it's those weird phrases that
they say and then some crazinesshappens pops off a giant cage
made of light lands on somebodyand stuff.
So it's, it's definitely a.
They're similar, but I thinkbleach did go a little further
with the system, like how itworks.

(12:04):
You know what I mean?
Yeah, for sure.
And the next one I mean look atthe next one, right, what do we
got in the next one?
Black Clover, that's.
That's yours, buddy.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
So far, so far.
Black Clover, and like the, theusage of the grimoires, like
the grimoire based powers, thatseems to be the most well
thought out system.
I'm not saying they don't fuzzthings and just give asta some
you know, super secret op powerevery once in a while every

(12:35):
anime, every anime, every everymanga anime.
They all do it.
Bro, you're gonna say that I'mnot saying, it doesn't happen,
throw that on.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
You know more than Asta.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Oh, dude, for sure, asta has to work for his shit,
dude.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
You know it's plot armor incarnate, right yeah?
But overall it feels like it'sthe most well thought out system
, like that's closer totraditional, like fantasy,
fantasy and so fantasy and stuff.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Yeah, because you have an element right and all of
your stuff is based on thatelement, whatever you do with
the water or the fire.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Whether you make a firearm because that's badass,
or a fire dragon, or you're justfire that right, you know like
it's.
It's still different, but it'sall the same element.
That's why I like black cloverdude.
I mean I might get I might getpardon the pun flame for this,
but I personally like it betterthan fairy tale, even though I
do like fairy tale a lot.
I like the magic system, thecharacters.
There's the captain and thelieutenant.

(13:35):
It's got that kind of feel.
I used to think it was a ripoffof fairy tale, but when I got
more into the story I was like,oh, this is way different than
fairy tale.
They just have magic as thesame thing.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Yeah, let's just go ahead and compare the two then.
Because fairy tales on both ofour lists anyways, and I think
it's probably for the samereason, because fairy tale has
flashy, cool magic that looksgood on screen.
But if you're going to comparethe two, I totally get what
you're saying at you know wherethe comparison level, but fairy

(14:06):
tale for me it was like itseemed like it was well thought
out at the beginning.
You know they do the wholeexplanation like oh, we have
caster type magic and then wehave holder type magic.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Bro, I forgot about the holder thing that just tells
you how much I use like thecelestial keys.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Right, that's, that's magic, because she's got to
have the key to do OK, I'm in,okay, I was gonna say I don't
even remember that right, so,but that's where you, that's
where things start to get alittle dicey, because then they
immediately introduce, you know, the dragon slayer, natsu, and
you categorize that as a castertype magic, right, of course,
because it's like.

(14:40):
I mean, he likes to deck peoplein the chin, but yeah, it would
kind of be more like, honestlylike, if you want to get down
into those details like DragonSlayer magic is almost more like
Augmenter magic from T-Bait.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Yeah, I mean and we'll think about this too, like
they and I don't maybe it'sbeen a while, but do they have
like a mana reserve that theyjust burn through?
Because if they do, naatsu justkeeps getting more because of
friendship and belief, which Iunderstand, that's part of
Shonen.
But it's so overdone in thisseries that it gets to a point

(15:18):
where it's like I thought youwere out of mana, like last
episode, but now all of a suddenyou have more and I don't
remember it ever being explained.
It's not like um ignio is justgiving him more mana somehow.
It's like it's never even said.
It's just like the power ofbelief.
I want more, I'm gonna get it,which is cool, but it's not
thought out in a magic system.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
It's just like pulling out of your ass pretty
much I will say that well, let'ssay this, by the time they got
to the mid hundreds, or likeearly hundreds episodes, once
they're at the you know thetournament, the like the all
guild tournament thing, oncethey're in the tournament,

(15:58):
honestly, so much crap has beenintroduced that I completely
forgot that there were any rulesto that magic system period.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
I don't even know if there are, because there's Demon
Slayers, devil Slayers, dragonSlayers, ice Slayers, god
Slayers.
Then there's the God Slayers.
Wait, wouldn't God Slayer bestronger than Dragon Slayer?
No, they're not.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
No, because Natsu gets stronger with the power of
fight wait, wouldn't god slayerbe stronger than, but then
dragon slayer?
Uh, no, they're not.
Because this is no, because not.
So you get stronger with thepower of fight of like you know
of hands.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
You know I get it.
You want to throw hands, I'mall about it, but their battle
system is very um.
I think maybe you're right.
I think it was thought out andit was like yeah, let's just
just whatever, it would havebeen better if they would have
thrown in an explainer.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
Like all dragon slayers get stronger with their
anger because, like dragons uh,an angry dragon blah, blah, blah
yeah exactly, angry dragonsdestroy cities or, you know,
countries, whatever.
If they'd thrown even in anexplainer like that, it would
have done a lot to like smoothover the just the crazy amount

(17:02):
of power that you know theseboys are tossing around yeah and
I say, yeah, how many yearsit's been?

Speaker 2 (17:10):
how long he looks the same mostly.
So, maybe a little bit, butlike it's not, like he's grown
over 10 years and it's like okay, he's.
You know, he looks kind of thesame maybe a couple years and
then the dude is just like Imean I love nazi, he's great,
but it's not really thought out.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
Let me be honest about that.
Here's something I I, so here'swhat I don't remember at all.
What kind of magic did gildargildarts have?
Because, like, he was literallylike, so gildarts is the aura
farmer of, yeah, fairy tale yeah, he's a man, just straight out
there aura farming dude, he'sout there, he's like oh, I
fought it.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Uh, what is that knowledge?
I fought it.
Now I lost my arm.
Yeah, hey, my arm's gone.
It's metal like dude and nowI'm stronger.
Yeah, and he's.
I think it was gravity, thoughfor him I'm pretty sure, yeah,
yeah, that sounds, that soundsright.
I which, but I just don'tremember no, it's definitely
cool the thing with that show, though, that caught me
originally is the characterdesign dude.

(18:07):
They had some really cooldifferent character designs with
, like some of their outfits andstuff.
I mean black clover.
I would say they beat them onthat with character design,
because black clover, you know,it's just like a cape, you just
have the cape, but but blackcover does uh, it's, it's weird,
it does it, does it better, itdoes fantasy the black bulls out
of the black bulls especially.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
I mean dude, who doesn't love the, you know the
black aesthetic dude, that's theguy with the jaw teeth with the
mask.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Yeah, though, it's bang, he's just, he's just
banged.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
The whole whole crew is solid.
Yeah, I love Black Clover.
The entire Magic Knights inBlack Clover is solid, right
Like.
Even the annoying ones arestill like, y'all are still
pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
And then I remember in Black Clover I'm like, oh,
there's other countries that arelike the heart or this space,
whatever, and I'm like, yeah, but they're like nowhere near as
cool as these dudes.
Like, these dudes runeverything.
Yeah, they're not, they're just.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
They're not even as strong as them, do you at all so
yeah, bringing it back likewhen you get to the mid-hundreds
on black clover, I still feellike it's a very well thought
out magic system um, yeah, youknow there's there's plot armor
in there every once in a whileof course that's everything
right, uh, but overall, you know, as the as many similarities as

(19:24):
there were in the beginning tofairy tales magic system, um, it
kept its rule base and it keptgoing with it and it kind of
held everybody to that standardand then they didn't have any
super outliers like guild artsor gojo right, like well, yami
yami, strong yami what's hername?

Speaker 2 (19:45):
melorona, or whatever ?
The sister, the fire sister, ohyeah, yeah sure yeah yeah,
she's a monster.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
She's my favorite character, she what did yami say
about her, though?
He's like, what did he call her?
Oh, dude, it's gonna bug me,because I I honestly I laughed
out loud for like five minuteshe's like terrified of her dude.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
He's like this woman is a maniac.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
She's an animal.
Okay, what's her brother's name?
What are?

Speaker 2 (20:11):
her brother's names.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
Fugue.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
Fugueleon Said it wrong.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
You're going to say it wrong Fuegoleon, fugoleon.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
Fugoleonon.
There you go.
Yeah, I don't know the youngestone.
I don't remember him, what hisname is.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
He's cool, but I don't remember his name yeah,
anyways, there was a scene whereshe busts into the bar where
yami's at and um, yami justcalls her.
What the fuck did he say?
He was basically just likefogoli sister, and she was like
that's not my name and he's likeI really just thought you guys
put fuego at the beginning oh,that's right it's not that it's

(20:48):
not exactly like that, but it'ssomething, it's something like
that dude, she's a greatcharacter.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Goleon.
He called her sis goleon, that's what it was he goes.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
I just thought you guys put goleon at the end of
all your names and and dude.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
That character is the outlier character in that in
that series it's not an outlierlike gojo or guild arts compared
.
No, no, no, no yeah, it's notlike way out of control, but I
do like that series because theyhave clear captains and then
then the youngins and theyoungins are growing in power
and some of them are outpoweringthe captains.
And I mean the dude that likesto cut all the time, the Blade

(21:25):
dude, just a crazy coolcharacter Like that just has
good characters.
Dude Jack the Ripper, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (21:31):
I think he is Jack.
Actually, I think he is Jackthe Ripper.
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
It's a cool story.
It's just than Fairytale, butit is fun.
They're both very fun, butFairytale is more power of
belief, although Fairytale doesbeat their ass on the soundtrack
.
I will definitely say that Ilove.
Fairytale's soundtrack.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Honestly, yeah, I agree with that, I can agree
with that.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Black Clover is not very iconic in the sound, but
Fairytale definitely when itstarts hitting, you're like, oh
yeah, for sure, definitely whenit starts hitting, you're like
oh yeah, For sure, Can you tellthat we have a?

Speaker 1 (22:05):
clear favorite here, yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Black Clover seems to be kind of the winner for all
the matches, but I still almostdropped it because of Asta's
yelling in five episodes.
I did drop it in episode one.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
Episode one.
I dropped it.
You were the one that told me Ihad to get back into it.
So after five years I finallygot back into it and had to get
back into it.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
So after five years, I finally got back into it and I
was like I will give it anothertry.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
Well, it's crazy, because you had a beloved host.
He's awesome, he stops yelling,so much.
Yeah, he still yells, but it'snot in your face, like he
doesn't immediately always giveyou the natsu slash naruto vibes
but, he would yell every everyfive minutes.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Dude, it was so bad.
Yeah, all right, moving on, yougotta take the next one,
because I, you know, I'm not,I'm not watching it.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
Well, I mean.
So these next couple of onesare debatable, but do they
belong?
You know, I guess that's foreverybody else to decide.
So one piece, the devil fruitpowers, right.
So hear me out, is it magic?
I kinda um.
What I do appreciate about the,you know, the devil fruit

(23:07):
powers is they have a veryclear-cut rule system.
You know, like, if you're gonnamake a rule, stick to the.
I never.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
I never watched it, so I don't know.
I know devil fruit, but uh, itjust seems like a, you know, a
catalyst to give you an ability, but you, you can't swim, I know
that much about it, but yet youmight be a pirate.
Why be a pirate if you just beon land and just rule people?
I don't understand.
I'm not getting into that.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Okay, so watch the live action.
Watch the live action, okay, okay, at least that's only eight
episodes and gives you a prettygood feeling of like.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
It does a good job.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
It feeling of like it does a good job.
It does a good job.
Um, so the one piece with thedevil fruit powers.
It is similar to fairy tale inthat, like you see crazy powers
all over the place, right, you're like what kind of fucking
magic is this?
like we got stretchy man, we gotace, who you know just blows
crap up with fire, you know.
And then you got, like some ofthese random powers that I can't
even think of them all, butlike you know, you got, uh, you
got the clown and he can doweird stuff like you know.

(24:06):
Take all of his body partsapart, like he can't be sliced.
I can't remember what the nameof his fruit was.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
Yeah, he literally take his body all apart and put
it back together so you don'tknow what you're gonna get when
you eat it.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Right, right, yeah you don't know, but there are
only three types of devil fruitsthat, and dude, do not ask me
to name them um, but there arethree types of devil fruits that
give you yeah, like they havespecific power bases.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
It can be a multitude of things inside of like this
type so you're like like example, you're like, do you know, when
you go to get the fruit, like,oh this, oh this is a fire type
one.
If I eat this I'm going to geta firepower, or is it just like
random shit?
You have no idea.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
So it's my understanding, if I remember
correctly, that only one.
So like, let me back that upLuffy ate the gum gum fruit,
right, there can only be one gumgum fruit in existence at any
given time.
Okay, so no one can have thatpower?

(25:08):
Okay, okay, nobody else has gotstretchy, stretchy power, um,
until luffy dies and then acertain point in time later, the
the fruit will like reappear.
Yeah, now, that said somepeople, and this is where it
gets kind of vague.
Some people have figured outhow to tell kind of what fruit

(25:32):
they have seen, based on likeprevious records and other stuff
, and then just like historicaldo they look different?

Speaker 2 (25:38):
all the fruits actually visually look a little
different dude, I don't evenremember.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
I think they're all colored differently and they
probably all have a slightlydifferent shape, but I mean,
it's a fruit's a fruit, it lookslike a, it looks like a peach
or a plum on a tree.
Yeah, dude, I don't know, itdepends right it's all different
.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
Yeah, yeah it's always is that the case for all
the powers?
There's only one of that powerout there supposed to be, and as
far as I know that's supposedto be.
Yeah, that's see, that'sinteresting.
See, that's an interestinglittle thing like, because you
don't, he knows there's no oneelse out there.
That's stretchy rubber man, right, exactly but who teaches
you how?

Speaker 1 (26:12):
you just learn it as you go.
Luffy's dumb.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
Luffy doesn't know that other people know that no,
I mean like the abilities ofdifferent powers no, that's, I'm
just saying Luffy, probablyhe's dumb dude.
He's dumber than.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
Natsu.
He's dumber than Naruto Boy.
He's dumb, but he's just likethem.
You know, it's like he getsbetter in a fight.
All of a sudden.
He's a strategic genius.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
And is there like some?
Well, I guess, if there's onlyone, one power of that thing,
nobody can really teach you howto do it.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
So you're kind of just figuring out, you're on
your own.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
I mean, that's a cool system.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
they do have this other like vague system that I
haven't fully gotten into yetbecause I'm not sure and I don't
want to look up details right.
So if you're going to email meand tell me I'm an idiot,
because I explained it wrong, that's why I'm only in like the
350 to 400 range episode count,because I can only watch a few

(27:13):
at a time and then, you know, crap happens.
Yeah, there is this other vaguesystem like Shanks.
You know Luffy's like fatherfigure, right, dude's mad strong
, but why is he strong?
Like there's some other vaguepower out there that isn't tied
to the devil fruits, and I'msure it will be fully explained

(27:36):
later, but I don't have thosedetails and I don't.
I didn't want to look it upjust for this episode, so I can.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Yeah, yeah, technically, you know know, this
is what their power is.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
There is a vague system out there.
To me right now it's just vague.
It hasn't been explained yet.
But you see, like some peoplethat are like you are way too
strong to just be a normal human, you know what are you doing,
yeah?

Speaker 2 (28:01):
yeah, okay well, yeah , so that's cool, all right.
I mean, I always told you Ilike it, I just don't.
You know, I haven't started it.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
One day, maybe, when it's one of those it's kind of
it's got, it's got rules, sodoes it fit into the to the
magic power systems?
For this episode we're justgonna say, yeah, it does, it's a
magic.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
Yeah, I mean when I mean so, is the next one alchemy
for fundamental alchemist,right?
I mean, not everyone can do it,right, only some of the people
can do the alchemy, yeah the, uh, the alchemy thing, right, only
some people can do it, noteverybody can do it, you know,
you have to figure it out.
There's symbols, there'sequations.
It's definitely a magic systemin my opinion it's yeah,

(28:41):
channeling energy from.
Another yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Yeah, it's a weird combination of, like science,
magic and occult.
That's what's so cool about it,yeah, and it does have rules,
yeah and you're right not noteverybody can do it, so put one
exchange, baby.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
Yeah, exactly, lose that arm and leg for nothing,
boy, what was the point of that?
Oh, you brought a husk back tolife.
Congrats, yeah, yeah as asix-year-old.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
But yeah, I do think it should count as a magic
system, first and foremostbecause it looks badass, dude
the circles, and then he can dothem without having to just
clapping.
Yeah, dope, dope, dope, dope, dope well, that's because you
know he broke the rules.
Yeah, well still awesome.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
It's funny about the people who have cheat the glove
they can just snap but what?

Speaker 1 (29:30):
but see, that has a, that has an explanation, right,
because the circle, thealchemist circle, is on the
glove, so he's already formedthe circle didn't he carve it
into his hand, remember, becausehe didn't always have the glove
?

Speaker 2 (29:47):
no event, no, in one of the fights, yeah, yeah, there
was like blood or something.
I do remember, dude, that'sdefinitely magic system.
100 percent.
Roy mustang is right the goatroy is the goat one the best
fire users and I love fire usersin anime.
He's one of my favorite ones.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Honestly, he's just one of the best characters in an
anime period, and this isprobably a little bit of bias,
because I love Travis WillinghamAmazing.
Yeah, he's a great voice actorand I love everything he does.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Terrible day for rain or whatever.
Iconic line.
Iconic line dude like so goodand hit his honestly in revenge
scenes in anime.
His revenge scene in animeagainst lust.
I think it was lost.
Literally one of the best onesever, ever animated dude,
complete like I don't care,wasn't it?

(30:39):
Was it envy it was.
I don't think it was Lust, no,it was both, because, wait, it
was Envy, which is the one thatcan transform.
I think it was Envy, technically, can't they all?
Well, he killed Lust and hefought Envy.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Like the revenge.
I think that was Envy.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
Yeah, because he humiliated Envy.
Remember Like blew aparteverything, dude, epic, epic,
epic epic scene.
Yeah, it was Envy, sorry.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
I had to look.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
God talk about hated characters.
Oh my God, I hated Envy, dude, dude Envy yeah, so like at least
the other ones right, and we're.
We're getting off the topic ofaction we're getting way off
topic here, but this is.
This is rant time.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Well, no, this is, this is the purpose of the show.
Right, like this is why, like,I kind of wanted to step the
format back to like what we had, because we were getting too
into this thing where it's likewe're only talking about the
thing that's on the title of ourepisode and that's it.
And it's like bro, I want to, Iwant to ramble.
If you don't want to listen tome ramble, this is probably not
the show for you.
Yes, I'm not even going toapologize for that.

(31:49):
Oh yeah, go away.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
I will stay semi on topic.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
But anyways, lust at the very least.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
And some of the others.
You at least feel a little bitbad for them and you can
understand their point of viewenvy.
You're like I hate you, I wantyou to burn.
I, because you're so cocky, just runs fucking mouth all the
time, constantly talking trashdude like the rest of them
didn't?
I mean a little bit like gradewas cool even yeah, like
whatever.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
King bradley even made solid points on why he's
doing what he's doing great.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
He was cool.
Yeah, he made great envy's,just like.
Hey, I'm stronger than you andI'm gonna freaking lord it over
you because you're a.
I hate the world.
Yeah, bro, like.
And then you find out it's alittle tiny, little lizard gecko
thing.
That's what it really the realform was.
Remember it was like a tinylittle lizard or something.

Speaker 1 (32:45):
After all that and you're like no, it's, it's envy
is the most hated I.
I don't know is it is anybodyin that show more hated than in?
No say I, at least for me hitme up if, if you can give me a
well-reasoned argument on whysomebody else should be more
hated than envy.
But I mean, dude, once sheganked your boy, um unnecessary,

(33:05):
and then laugh you're gonnalaugh.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
You're gonna laugh about it.
Are you fucking kidding me?
Do you?
Burn, burn, burn, burn, burn,burn.
Right, yeah, you gotta die.
You gotta die, dude.
And he was like, whatever I do,I'm going to kill that damn
thing.
And I will tell you this, though the reveal of Envy's
monster form, where it's big, fucking, terrifying dude With
the people, remember, screamingfor help.

(33:29):
And then you're like this ishorrific dude.
Yeah, yeah, dude.
That show's so good man, I'vegot to watch it again.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
That show's awesome yeah, no, I need to watch it
again and I've been looking.
So I do love brotherhood.
Don't at me there.
I know it's the more correctversion, but I also like the
original series and I haven'tseen the original series in
forever and I want to watch thatone again.
I've seen brotherhood at least, probably two and a half, three

(33:58):
times.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
I want to watch the original again it's, it's so
close, except for I like his armbetter.
In the original one it wasdrawn better, it was shinier in
the original.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
I like the beginning better in um the original
because they start out in god.
What is that city out in thedesert?

Speaker 2 (34:18):
they start out city.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
Yeah they start out out there, um, with that big
priest, whereas like inbrotherhood, that doesn't happen
until four, five or sixepisodes in.
Yeah, yeah, um, and I justbetter opening I like that
starting point.
You know, to me, like headcanon, that's the starting point yes,

(34:40):
because that's what you sawfirst.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
Right, was that one?
Yeah, same, yeah, like Ithought the train ending on that
one was the real ending and Iwas always like, well, dan, this
ending kind of sucks, like he'sgone.
And then you watch the brother.
You're like because I didn'teven know back then any of that.
And so I'm watching brother.
I'm like, whoa, this is waydifferent.
They're going to the north.
Wait, wait, there's a north.
I was so shocked.
I was so shocked.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
And then the end of that, I was like like oh, wow,
Speaking of North, that, LadyGeneral Colonel, whatever that
ran the North.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
The sister.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Dude.
Yeah To the buff dude.
Yeah, dude, she was great.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
Why is it always the?

Speaker 1 (35:13):
sister to the buff dude or the crazy guy like
Siskelion.
Well, her character was great.
It's always the crazy strongsister that you're like man, I
like this chick Dude.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
You live in the north and she's just like super
strong, but no alchemy at all,Just a straight badass with a
sword.
Just a straight beast.
Beast Kept everyone in line, yeah, yeah.
No, that north part was myfavorite part.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
No that was a great arc, but, no, completely gone.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
I'm derailing this train right now, dude, we are so
derailing this train I don'teven care.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
Tell me an anime ending that pissed you off as
much or more than the originalfull metal alchemist oh, dude on
the train.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
Oh my god.
Wait, he was here.
He got sent to our world, right, wasn't that the ending dude?

Speaker 1 (36:00):
that's right, oh my god can you think of anything
else that pissed you off thatmuch?
Because I've got dude, go aheadwhen you're talking.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
I'll think of, see if I can think of anything else
that pissed you off that much, cause I've got one Dude.
Go ahead.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
When you're talking, I'll think of see if I can think
of anything.
Dude fate zero.
Before I knew there was a,before I knew that there was
more to that story fate zero.
I was like what the hell isthis?
I was like this show sucks.
I'm never watching it again.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
Fate Zero was the one with the dark haired guy.

Speaker 1 (36:28):
Because it wasn't Okay.
The dad, the one that raised, well, no yeah he is the dad.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
Yeah, he raised it, adopted and birthed.
So you watched that before theother one.
Oh man, I would have been mad.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
I was just like this is terrible.
Like was just like this isterrible.
Like what dude that hit me.
And I was like, why did I watchthis, wasted my time.
I was like, why did we makethis?
I was like, did they just likecrushing everybody's souls?
What was the point of writingthis?

Speaker 2 (36:57):
and then you watched the second one, you're like, oh
no, yeah, dude, it was it was.
It was almost a year before Ifound the other stuff, you know
the thing with fate is it's socomplicated because, like half
of them are like alternatereality, like when I didn't even
know that because I originallywas trying to watch them all in
order and then I looked it upand it's like, yeah, half of
these aren't even, they're justlike random versions that could

(37:18):
have grand order is completelyseparate, yeah, and I'm like,
okay, all right, and apparentlythere's one right now.
I've been trying to watch it forsix months.
They released two episodes andnever released another one and
I'm like, what is it?
I don't know if they're movies.
It's really greatly animated,by the way, it's really good.
And I've been like checking itand I'm like, oh, there's

(37:40):
nothing.
It's been four months since Iwatched the second episode.
Yeah, I don't know, apparentlyking arthur's actually in it or
something.
I don't know.
I hate that, yeah or whatever.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
We got a couple of honorable mentions.
Do you want to go for them?

Speaker 2 (37:54):
uh, t-bait.
No, I mean, I don't know toomuch about it, but t-bait,
although I do like the magic andthe augmenting thing.
That's really cool because ifwe're getting to like the
mythology of the like, what isit called?
What's it called the give methe word.
Where you're like, you can dothe martial arts and you augment
your strength and all thatstuff.

Speaker 1 (38:14):
Oh, like, well, I mean, like, what is that?
Yeah, yeah, like they're doingthat, because that's what he had
in his own world.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
So but that's cool, that they're like blending two
different systems together.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
I think that's great and yeah, so the caveat to this
right is T-Bait, but the comicand novel version only because
the anime version was notexplained.
Well, you know, for thedifferent types of magic, they
explained it, they saidaugmenters and casters, but they
didn't really go into detailabout, like what, how the magic
works, right, so it's got a lotof the uh, you know, it's got.

(38:47):
It's got a lot of chinesecultivation stuff in there, the
quote, that's the first thing Ireally appreciate you know, and
I've gotten into some of thatlately and it's fun to read, you
know, um, not so much fun in ananime when they're not going to
talk about it, when they'rejust going to gloss over all the
details.
So for a details person, if youare a details person, the
t-bait and, uh, the t-bait, thet-bait magic system is pretty

(39:10):
good.
It's based on, you know, it'sgot a little bit of everything,
but the chinese cultivationaspects just really reached out
and, you know, spoke to me, um,I liked it both, right the
casting and or no when?
so when you get to a certainlevel.
It seems like he can I mean Inin they?

(39:31):
They kind of laid it out in thenovels, right, when you get to
silver level, when you get tosilver core, is when you like,
it doesn't.
The distinction betweenaugmenter and caster doesn't
really matter as much anymore.
Oh, interesting, okay, but inthat world there aren't a ton
that make it to silver core.
There's even less that make itto white core and, as of right

(39:56):
now, I think Arthur slash Grayis the only one that makes it.
You know, beyond white core, maybe maybe some of the I can't
maybe some of the asura, andthat's as much as I'll say about
that okay, yeah, yeah, okay, no, I like it a lot.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
I don't know the next one, though, I don't.
I have only watched it, but Inever really fell into it that
hard well, here's the thing,though.

Speaker 1 (40:21):
You've seen supernatural, yeah.
Okay, here's the show black.
But I mean, this is again whyit's an honorable mention,
because it's not like a fullydeveloped.
Is it a fully developed magicsystem?
No, not in the sense of theother ones that we were talking
about, but like, if you want tothink about it in terms of like
the show supernatural, you know, most all of the magic is pretty

(40:41):
much tied to contracts withdemons.
And then later on, in some ofthe arcs, later, you know,
there's like some occulty witchstuff.
But it's not a, it's not a welldeveloped magic system as in
you know, black Clover, fullMetal, alchemist and stuff like
that.
There's not a lot of rules,it's just, you know, tied to

(41:03):
demon contracts.
Ok, well, that works, workswhich still makes it cool, still
makes it very cool, still makesit very interesting, um, and
it's so awesome to look atvisually because I think, I
think it's beautiful animation, the sigils yeah, yeah, yeah,
yeah, but but it just fallsshort of the list because it's

(41:23):
not like a fully qualified magicsystem.

Speaker 2 (41:26):
Okay, yeah, I've seen the first season.
It did look cool.
I just never got in.
I just kind of fell out of it.
I really enjoy it.
It's a great show.
Yeah, I'm going to have tocatch back up on it.
When we don't have a summerlineup or a lineup coming up,
that sounds interesting.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
Hit me with some Realm Rumors dude that's
interesting.
Hit me with some Realm Rumorsdude.

Speaker 2 (41:45):
So this week we're just going to really talk about
the summer season that'sstarting up here like in a week
or two, actually like a week.
We got some second season, youknow multiple season shows
coming out and then some firstseason bangers, I think that are
hitting.
I sent you one of them, thatone about the and I'm going to
butcher the name, gachi Akuta, Iguess Framed and cast into a

(42:09):
trash filled abyss.
Ruto fights monsters in thesystem that dumped him.
That's the one I sent you inthat video Looks pretty revenge
type, which is cool.
I think blood's involved as thepower, some kind of power
system.
I'm not really sure, from whatI can tell.

Speaker 1 (42:23):
That's always interesting.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
But that is definitely interesting, so I'm
going to check it out.
For sure, this one comes outJuly 6th, so pretty soon.
Now we got Kaiju number eight, season two.

Speaker 1 (42:35):
I love Kaiju.

Speaker 2 (42:36):
Did you watch?

Speaker 1 (42:37):
season number one.

Speaker 2 (42:38):
Yeah, I read the manga too, yeah absolutely, so
it's good, yeah, it's great.
No, it's worth it, dude, it'sreally.
Uh, one of the things you'lllove is, uh, main character is
like 30 something, so that'spretty cool because it's an
adult, you know, not like a 15year old.
Um, the main character, kafka.
He faces new out and faces newallies and learns more about

(42:58):
number eight's power as morestronger kaiju start showing up.
This is definitely a reallycool uh show.
Definitely check it out.
Uh, humans fighting giantkaijus and they have kaiju start
showing up.
This is definitely a reallycool uh show.
Definitely check it out.
Uh, humans fighting giantkaijus and they have kaiju
weapons made of some of thestronger ones.
Like it's, it's, it's dope.
It's a really good show.
You're gonna love it.
Uh, dan to dan season two.
So we all you know most peopleknow the first season, second

(43:21):
season.
Here we go.
Dude, they better have a goodopener again dude, I don't know,
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (43:26):
If you can't come up with a good opener, please just
reuse the song from the firstdude, just reuse it, man, yeah I
don't know what's so good.

Speaker 2 (43:33):
That was so good I'm a real fan of this anime because
it's so weird and I love theparanormal and the sci-fi
element.
It's just a just interestingshow, dude.
So I was not.

Speaker 1 (43:45):
I was big on it, right, really well I mean, well,
you were there, you made me sitdown and watch the first
episode like this is gonna beuncomfortable.
You're like what is happening?
Yeah, what is it eight minutesin and I was like the time we're
reaching levels of show where, like I would have already cut
this off.
You're like it doesn't do whatyou think it's gonna do and I

(44:07):
was like, are you sure?

Speaker 2 (44:09):
you're like, I feel like I'm watching goblin slayer.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
Yeah, oh, dude, goblin slayer at least can be
explained dan to dan, you knowyou're like the alien ship that
can be explained.

Speaker 2 (44:21):
What are we doing right now?

Speaker 1 (44:22):
dude it was bad.

Speaker 2 (44:23):
It was bad and then the whole comes out and you're
like what is happening with thisshow?
This is insane, oh no.

Speaker 1 (44:29):
Turbo Granny shows up , and then I'm like all right
this is not going to be what Ithought it was going to be, and
Turbo Granny was just-.
The show is so weird.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
I love it dude, and she's so mad about it, dude I
know you could have picked, likea monkey or something, and made
it like funny that show isreally.
It's really weird.
I really like that show a lot.
It's the next one.
I'm not a big fan, I neverreally watched it.
But dress up darling.
Season two is out, so I knowpeople love that.
I don't know anything about it.
Yeah, it's about cosplay.

(45:05):
The guy likes a girl whocosplays.
I don't really know much, um,but it's a big, very popular
show.
So, uh, enjoy, you know whoeverloves it.
Dr stone we got coward 2.
I believe this is the lastseason of dr stone.
That's gonna finish the story.
Uh, love dr stone.
Super interesting anime and I'mpretty sure I read that the

(45:26):
creator of it I think he's alsoa biologist or a scientist.
So when you watch Dr Stone, itmakes sense because everything's
explained with what they'redoing with science.
I love that show though.
Super interesting and cool.
And then a couple other onesthat are big.
We got Shield Hero coming backfor Season 4.
We all know shield hero.

Speaker 1 (45:47):
I'm just going to keep interrupting.
Go ahead.
Have you seen beyond season one?

Speaker 2 (45:51):
Yeah, I'm caught up with it, okay.

Speaker 1 (45:53):
So there was such a long break between season one
and season two that I I just asexcited as I was when I first
watched shield hero and I'mtalking like I was watching it
weekly, right, like every week Iwas.
I was when I first watchedshield hero and I'm talking like
I was watching it weekly, right, like every week I was.
I was, I was watching the newepisode.
There was such a long breakbetween season one and season

(46:13):
two that by the time season twocame out, I was just I'm so
surprised.

Speaker 2 (46:18):
It's fantasy, it's you know, it's so up your alley.
I am shocked that you're notlike caught up with with shield
hero I really am, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
I I had.
I remember I had some initialproblems with the way he handled
the girls.
I was like, bro, you're runninga straight, like not cool harem
.
Like what are you doing, bro?
And then people were like, no,it's not really like that.
And I'm like, okay, well, ifit's not going to be really like

(46:51):
that, fine no, it's not.

Speaker 2 (46:52):
It's not.
It's actually not like that.
Yeah, I don't think it's likethat you know.

Speaker 1 (46:56):
So again, that was just one of those shows that I
was like we're pushing someboundaries here that like are
really close to the territory.
When I'm like that, I'm notgonna, bro.
We had a fake sexual assaultallegation that kicked off the
entire storyline right and see,you can see where I thought that
was gonna get bad right.
Like, yes, we knew theallegation was fake, but I

(47:16):
totally thought some badrevengey stuff was coming later
down the line oh my god, you'rescarred from redo healer that's
what this is?
What did I make it?
One one episode of redo ofhealer and I thought it was yeah
, dude I.
I was thinking bad stuff wascoming, no, no no, no, it's not
like that.

Speaker 2 (47:32):
He uh, yeah, he does her, her lies and stuff come out
, and so, no, you would dude.

Speaker 1 (47:37):
I think I enjoyed season one, but the, the break
between the somehow cooled offand I'm like well, I don't got
time.
There's two and three you canwatch I think I'll have to
re-watch season one first, andgauge, like how I feel about it
well, what I liked about itoriginally was he.

Speaker 2 (47:55):
Actually it was really interesting because he
was super, like I'm in a fantasyworld this is amazing, you know
like into it and he was all I'mthe shield, I'm the hero, cool,
and there's a spear and a sword, whatever.
And then, like that happens tohim and he complete, completely
jaded, like f everyone fuck this.
Well, I'm gonna, I'm gonna dowhat I want to do and like

(48:19):
that's pretty rare for a maincharacter to act that way.
You know that that's just adifferent take.
And then all the other mainheroes are freaking, like
they're annoying, like you'relike dude, these guys suck, um.
So it's fun.
It's good to see him rise up,like literally rising through,
and becomes like loved by thepeople.
And yeah, it's, I'm a big fanof it.
And the last season I wasn'tsuper into it as far as the

(48:42):
storyline where it was going.
There was some cool stuff, butuh, hopefully we're gonna get
back on track.
They did introduce some prettyinteresting things with like
what you remember, like theinvasions or whatever yeah, near
the end yeah, there's likeinvasions from other worlds
trying to take this one and itlooks like some of the other
people invading are heroes fromother worlds, so that's like, oh

(49:03):
, so they're all kind of beingput into the same.
Yeah, it's pretty cool, uh.
And then really my last onethat I'm really interested is
this thing called lord ofmysteries.
So I believe so.
I've seen trailers of thisonline and the animation is
insane.
It has double the amount offrames that soul leveling had
per episode, which is kind ofcrazy because I think it had

(49:27):
everyone's saying it's like 16000 in soul level.
This is 30 000 plus frames perepisode and the fights look
insane and I believe it's one ofthe dongwa whatever the chinese
ones animations, um, but justfrom the tagline, I'm like dude,
I have to see this In asteampunk world.

(49:47):
I'm in already Steampunk yes, steampunk World of Secrets and
Gods Klein, like the name, divesdeep into occult power and
peril.
I am so in Like what are wetalking about?
Steampunk gods?
Let's go, dude, let's fuckinggo.
I'm all about this.

Speaker 1 (50:03):
No for sure.
Let's fucking go.
I'm all about this.
No for sure this is like I.

Speaker 2 (50:09):
I don't know that that's so.
Those are vibes I look forright dude steampunk yeah, uh, d
gray man, which you knoweverybody.

Speaker 1 (50:16):
I think people just sleep on that now because it's
old, but it's still a goodseries.
Gray man was great.

Speaker 2 (50:21):
I loved it I mean, the only other big one I can
think of is Trigun.
It's steampunk.
Yeah, I'm excited for it.
Look up the trailer, though.
I'll send it to you.
I was like yo, what is?

Speaker 1 (50:37):
this.
So this airs in like a coupleof days.
It says June 28th.
Okay, yeah.

Speaker 2 (50:43):
I'll have to check that out, I'll be checking it
out for sure.
And okay, yeah, I, yeah, I'llhave to check that out, I'll be
checking it out for sure.
And that's about it.
I mean, there's obviously a lotmore, but we're not going to go
through everything.

Speaker 1 (50:53):
Yeah, there's always seen a lot of.
I mean like we've got a veryspecialized podcast where we
talk about random shit and alsomaybe sometimes fantasy.
It was supposed to be fantasy.

Speaker 2 (51:01):
Give me some action.
At least I can talk aboutaction all day long.
What do you got for hot takes?

Speaker 1 (51:08):
All right, I give it to you.
Would you rather have anoverpowered Isekai skill tree or
a magic system that actuallymakes sense?
If you had to pick a startingpoint, give me this bro, skill
trees, are you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (51:27):
Leveling up, picking abilities, putting in strength,
agility and whatever.
I would take that.

Speaker 1 (51:34):
No, you wouldn't go for a Grimoire-based power.
That's like Well don't forget.
It's a magic system thatactually makes sense.

Speaker 2 (51:44):
Okay, but don't forget, most of the people in
Black Clover are not magicknights.
They're just literally wateringtheir plants with their
grimoire.

Speaker 1 (51:49):
You have your choice.
You have a choice.

Speaker 2 (51:53):
I'd still take skill trees dude all day long.
Oh, her power is skill tree.
Yeah, because you have morecontrol of what powers you're
going to get or abilities you'llget, because you're literally
getting hit.

Speaker 1 (52:00):
No, I agree, I was just giving you a hard time
about the other part, I mean thegrimoire would be dope, but
like I can't even.
I can't even justify a pointLike I can't even justify it,
right, because, like it's like, would I rather write about a
magic system that makes sense?

(52:20):
Yes, but if I am going to havesome sort of power, give me the
overpowered skill tree, give mea heads up display.
A heads up display, yeah, youknow what I mean.
Either min max my character, you know, like myself, or like

(52:51):
how do I farm the most abilitypoints so I can max out the
skill tree, or do like get.
Basically, I want the waythat's going to be able to give
me the best option to be able tocheat right like yeah,
absolutely if you're givingpowers to yourself.
This isn't you know, this isn'tlike absolutely writing a good
story here.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
I don't care if it's a good story.
Give me the power and let mepick the skill tree so I can
create my as much as I complainabout overpowered mcs.

Speaker 1 (53:16):
If you are offering me a power system, I am going to
pick the one that is the powersee what do you think is gonna
happen?

Speaker 2 (53:24):
why wouldn't you?

Speaker 1 (53:25):
it's ridiculous right , no, exactly, yeah, I, I don't
even I don't want to be a hero.
Don't hit you, miss me withthat, just you know.
I don't want a title, uh, but Iso you literally are the trips.

Speaker 2 (53:35):
You're literally are the trips right now.
You're literally hitting allthe things that you're like I'm
over it yeah, no, I'm over it.

Speaker 1 (53:41):
Just give them all give me.

Speaker 2 (53:43):
I remember the one, I'll go full edgelord and give
myself a weird name the herodoes.
Oh, you're going to be like thedude from oh my God, what's the
name?
You know what I'm talking about?
Dude, which one?
The one where the guy is likehas all the the shadow garden
dude, come on, dude.

Speaker 1 (54:06):
The playing the piano that I know.
You know I'm talking about, Ido and it's gone from my
evidence and shadow evidence andshadow.

Speaker 2 (54:08):
There we go.
You're gonna be the evidenceand shadow.

Speaker 1 (54:10):
Like I don't want to do all that, I'm just trying to
be cool I'm gonna find the skill, but I'm gonna find the skill
on the tree that lets me playthe piano, and then I'm gonna go
do that.
Yeah, I still think that animeis hilarious, dude, it is just
cracks me up.
It.
It's hilarious, and I'm noteven.
This is, I don't know.
Maybe I'll finish it.
That's not the point.

Speaker 2 (54:28):
It's not one of those amazing, it's not one of those
amazing shows.

Speaker 1 (54:31):
It's like, bro, you got to watch this.
It's.
That's one of those like funthings you watch when you get a
chance.

Speaker 2 (54:36):
I've seen like four episodes Dude just to up, but
it's for no reason to play thenpc character.
Like what are you talking about?
No one will suspect me gettingpunched in the face.
And then it happens and he'slike oh, I'm so hurt.
Yeah, it's, it's said.
The guy's name is.
It's fucking hilarious, dude.
Yeah, that's, that's a sleeperhit for me, just because the

(54:59):
comedy yeah, for sure I get it.

Speaker 1 (55:01):
I, I totally get it, because the first episode just
had me like bro, what is thisdude doing?
What is he talking?
About you are actually insane, because that's where I thought
it was.

Speaker 2 (55:13):
No, he really is insane Because he's playing this
whole game.
He made up a whole villainenemy that's not even real and
then formed an army to fightthem.
They're not even real.
And then they became realbecause somebody started doing
it.
And army to fight them.
They're not even real.
And then they became realbecause somebody started doing
it and he's like oh yeah, thatwas the guys, but he's
completely just.

Speaker 1 (55:33):
He's a maniac.
He's just making it up.
Making it up.
I love it all right.
