Speaker 1 (00:16):
We'll be talking
world building, unforgettable
villains and everything thatmakes these genres legendary.
So let's jump into the Realmand everything that makes these
genres legendary.
So let's jump into the Realm.
Welcome back to Realm Jumpers.
Spring 2025 is stacked withmust-watch anime, from the
return of Fire Force and BlackButler to the big debut of the
Beginning After the End.
We're breaking down the biggestfantasy and isekai hits you
(00:37):
won't want to miss.
But first let's dive into someRealm rumors and see what's
making waves in anime.
What do you got for me, jordan?
Speaker 2 (00:44):
All right brother.
So and see what's uh makingwaves in anime.
What do you got for me?
Jordan.
All right, brother.
So big news soul levelingbreaks a new anime streaming
record with their uh, their lastepisode.
Not another surprise, right?
No surprise, with uh, big manbiru showing up playing and
playing with the s right yeah,or beating the beating the hell
out of them.
I I should say Barry lookedpretty good.
(01:04):
Yeah, he looked awesome.
So he definitely gave which Ihope you got to this yet in
Hunter x Hunter with the AntKing guy, very similar vibes.
I don't know if you made itthere yet, but they're very
similar.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Encouraging on that
right now?
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Yeah, you'll see.
But yeah, boasting 4.9 staraverage and over 610 000 user
ratings of um, that episodeactually overtook one piece and
demon slayer um for the mostrated title title on crunchyroll
, which is wild, demon slayerheld on to that for a minute.
One piece did as well, um, butthe episode was really cool, so
(01:40):
I'm not really surprised.
I don't know, I bet next weekmight end up breaking this
record again.
No, I'm not really surprised.
I don't know.
I bet next week might end upbreaking this record?
Speaker 1 (01:45):
No, I'm not surprised
.
I'm not surprised that it brokea record.
What I am surprised about iswhat is it?
Two weeks ago when he saved hismom and everybody shed on that
episode, Like bro, because hehad emotion.
He had emotion.
Like, come on, he's been tryingto do the whole show Like yeah,
(02:06):
that's been his number one goalfrom the beginning, you know,
to take care of his family.
I don't know dude anime fans, sometimes man um they're just
weird.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Although I didn't
really like him crying, you know
like that was, he finally hadsome emotion.
Yeah from, he didn't haveemotion since the first season,
right, so it was nice to.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Oh, he still is human
yeah, yeah, exactly they, I
don't know.
I enjoyed both of the episodes.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
The whole season been
great same.
I'm excited for this next oneman, this is gonna be, uh,
probably epic right yeah, so wegot what two episodes left right
.
So yeah, we have so you got theother realm rumor or what.
There's another one right, butuh, we have two episodes left
right oh yeah, two episodes ofsolo leveling and, uh, I'm sure
it's gonna end on a banger.
I have an idea of probablywhere it's gonna end, but let's
(02:46):
see if it happens yeah I, it'llbe good regardless, um.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
So yeah, I will
handle this other rumor.
I don't know if it's we'll callit a full circle on this or
maybe just kind of, you know, wrapping it up.
But so there is a petition out,um, there's a petition out to
get sony to fire the ceo ofcrunchy this is based on that
other stuff.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Right, it's based on
before yeah, all the other stuff
.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
So all of the other
stuff, plus everybody's gripes
in general, and this is where Ihave to step away from the pack
and just say listen up, dingdongs, you had an opportunity.
You had an opportunity here toactually write a solid petition,
uh.
But instead we lean back oninsults and just generalization,
(03:35):
on stuff like come on, dobetter guys.
Anime community as a whole wegot to do better, because, I
agree, it's just like ding ding, ding.
That right needs to be replacedbut if you're going to do the
petition, do it right and don'tmake it look like a 17 year old
wrote it, not even 17 year old.
Don't make it look like a 13year old it.
And it's funny because if yougo, you know, dive into the
(03:57):
reddit threads, that's literallythe first thing everybody
starts saying this petition ishorrible, it's barely legible,
and they just get into you knowthe juvenile insults, which is I
mean that's, they couldn't havelike ai write it and make it
look good.
No, like, yeah, right, anything.
Chat gbt could have done a realgood job with that.
(04:17):
Um, like just and here's thething, fire off, write your rant
, right, like, take what youalready wrote and then put that
into chat gbt and say hey, cleanthis, clean this up and make it
look professional.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
You know it's that
easy, that's terrible and you
know it'll, it'll.
Nothing will happen now becauseit was so juvenile, they're
just going to ignore it.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
I mean, that would be
my guess If I was the CEO or if
I was the head of Sony?
You know, board of directors,whatever.
Um, you know board of directors, whatever.
Um, yeah, if I'm in charge overat sony, I'm gonna look at that
petition and I'm gonna go likemy son wrote this.
This is like the complaint listwhen you don't get what you
want for christmas.
So no, I, I don't care.
Well, good job guys.
(04:58):
It's a lost opportunitybasically awesome job.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Yeah, there was some
real stuff you could have went
with, but okay, right, thanks.
Next.
Yeah, so that's well, man, thisis gonna be a fun episode.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
We got some some fire
bangers coming out this, this
dude, honestly, yeah, let's diveinto this, because I think we
got quite a bit to talk about.
Um, obviously we're not goingto cover every single new show
that's coming out in the springsea, because that would be
exhaustive and probably a fourhour three episodes yeah, um,
it'd be a four hour, which I'mnot into.
(05:30):
Like I I respect the shows thatare doing that, you know um,
but that's not like I don't know.
That's not where I'm at, I'mnot gonna watch everything.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
It's not your thing.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
Yeah, I'm not gonna
watch everything comes out, so
that's not what we'll talk aboutthe stuff, stuff that like it's
going to be good, or we hope, yeah, that looks.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Yeah, it looks fun.
So I'll start with good oldseason two of Windbreaker coming
out, which I am so excited for.
Man, I love the first season ofWindbreaker.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
I'm just getting into
it and, honestly, like I'm
ready for it.
I had concerns in the firstepisode, but I'm ready for it.
What do we got?
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Because in the first
episode.
But I'm ready for it.
What do uh, what do?
What do we got?
Because, yeah, so you know themain kid, uh, sakura, you know,
with the with the dual color, the hair and eyes and and all
that that.
When I first started, uh,watching windbreaker, it was
giving me the same vibes astokyo revengers, okay, which I
don't know if you've ever seenthat bits, um, but that has like
a time travel element that'sreally interesting and this
whole delinquent gang's fightingangle.
(06:26):
But as much as I like the timetravel part of that show,
windbreaker is just, I justenjoy it more.
The action is more fluid andmore just like martial arts
style or brutal maybe would bethe words.
It is going to be, I believe, animated by the original studio
from the first season.
So that's always good.
We won't have a drop in qualityas far as that goes.
(06:48):
Um, it looks like it's gonna befollowing, uh, the main group,
the boyfriend group here, against an organization called
keel k-e-e-l.
Um, I did not read the mangabecause I'm trying not to read
as much of those these days.
I'm trying to get into books.
By the way, I started missborne, that's just saying where you
should be.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Congratulations, I
know you're very happy about
that.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
But yeah, they're
gonna be facing off against this
kill organization.
The cool thing about them isthey're a brutal gang.
They have white jackets, theyuse weapons and they do mob
tactics like extortion, thatkind of stuff.
So you know, once you finish upseason one, you'll kind of see
how that plays out.
Which great season, greatending to that.
This looks like it's going tokind of escalate things to be
(07:32):
looks like more violent, morebrutal, maybe have some higher
stakes in this in this newseason.
They think it looks like it'sprobably going to be about three
to four chapters per episode, which is pretty normal, which is
, you know, that's kind of howthat goes when they adapt stuff
like this and they're assumingthe same thing about 13 episodes
or so, 12 or something likethat.
(07:53):
So it's going to be intense manStreet battles.
You know how emotional it getsin that.
The brotherhood, the loyaltyangle, I'm sure all that will be
there, but I'm hoping it'smaybe a little bit more higher
stakes this season than thefirst season.
Just, you know, let's see whathappens when these kids really
start getting into it.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
So I have notes.
I have notes, so I wasconcerned.
You know, keep in mind I'm onlyon like episode three or four.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
So immediately and
you know know, this was like the
immediate thought I was like,oh, the heterochromia thing.
I was like we're gonna find outthat this is like, he's like
lucifer's son.
So you know, immediately I waspicking up, I was like, uh, is
this gonna be like another blueexorcist type of thing where
he's just like some violentlittle delinquent?
And then you know, five minuteslater I'm like okay, I'm
worried now that he might justbe given off naruto vibes, where
(08:47):
it's like, but you know, boasting to be the strongest,
like I'm gonna be the top, I'mthe best engine, I'm gonna be
right, but you're yeah, you'rereally not at the beginning,
naruto was not the strongestfighter, you know what I mean?
he was no average, um.
So, and then we get a littlebit further in and I'm like,
okay, I like this mix, let's gowith it.
You know, the fights were great, the animation was clean, um,
(09:10):
by the way, that shop girl and Idon't remember her name, the
girl that was in the shop, yeah, yeah, I swear to god, that's
momo, is it?
No, just look at her.
Go back and look at the art.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Yeah look at the
animation.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Yeah, I can see
that's that's momo, from dan to
dan, like I, I don't know.
Yeah, that's who she looks likeolder, a little older yeah,
sure, but I think she is it'slike was that drunk?
Was that the same artist?
Did they copy this yeah?
Speaker 2 (09:34):
no.
So have you got to the, to theking of that gang yet of their
gang?
Have you met him yet?
Um, I think so.
Yeah, he's super, not whatyou're assuming for to be the
strongest quote fighter.
Yeah you, you'll see, you'lllike it.
Actually, the ending is reallygood.
No, I'm enjoying it.
So far the animation is clean.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
It's a fresh take on,
like I mean, obviously you know
we do mostly a lot of fantasyand magic stuff related here on
this podcast, but I don't know,it's fresh take, man, like to
like street level, yeah, towatch something with absolutely
no magic whatsoever.
It's kind of refreshing.
I don't know.
It's just yeah, just uh, fistsand feet kicking, yeah, I mean,
(10:10):
this is the whole reason why westarted watching kung fu movies
when we.
It's just pure action, you knowwhat I mean, and not like solo
leveling, like power fantasyaction, just just down and dirty
street fights.
And that's so cool, man, I love, I love it Like it's great.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Yeah, you'll love
that and it's got your favorite.
No, not a huge spoiler.
There's a little tournamenttype thing in it, so you're
going to love that.
I know you are with that.
It'll be great.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
I can't wait.
So what do we got next afterthis one?
So we got the beginning afterthe end, or if, if you're so
inclined to call it t-bait, yeah, honestly, this, the t-bait,
should be an, it should be aneasy win.
Um, it's got all of the.
You know the strengths ofjobless reincarnation, without
(10:54):
all of the uncomfortableness ofeverything that dude throws into
his writing.
Uh, you know, we'll leave thatthere, not gonna say much more
on that, but it it's a perfectchoice for an anime adaptation.
And on top of that, it startedout as a, a web comic, which,
again, you know we've talkedabout this in the past solo
(11:14):
leveling.
It kind of paves the way forthis stuff and I agree and I
think this was a good choice tofollow up.
But I am super concerned withthe studio and the trailer that
I've seen.
The animation looks janky, dude, it looks bad not as clean as
uh.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
So is that?
Wait, how's I so?
I I'm a manwa psycho.
I've never read this one, though, so it's on that list and
I want to do it.
Is the art matching in thecomic, or or no?
Speaker 1 (11:41):
I I mean, yeah, sure
it's close, but like I, I read,
of course, uh, of course I readthe novels, right.
So I'm not as concerned withwhether or not it faithfully
matches the drawings in the webcomic, because I I haven't seen
a ton of those.
But yeah, from what I can tellit, it does look similar enough.
Okay, this isn't bad, but I, Idon't know man, the the trailer.
(12:03):
Trailer was not good.
Trailer was not good.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Well, now I'm
concerned.
The scary part is, if yourtrailer is not good, man, that's
what you're supposed to be likedrumming up on the hype.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
So yeah, the trailer
is supposed to be the thing
where you're putting forth, likethe best of the best right,
like that's going to be yourbest drawn shit.
That's your like the other.
You know the matter.
Yeah, that's all I can sayabout that.
It's bad.
I still have high hopes for it,just because I really enjoyed
the story, you know.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Yeah, is it?
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Is it a?
Is it another isekai kind ofpower leveling fantasy?
Yeah, sure, he's not as like OPas Jimu, but it's.
It's got decent world building.
I, like you, know the storythat they're telling and so,
yeah, I've got high hopes for itand, let's face it, I'm gonna
watch it anyways, but I'm gonnabe pissed off.
It's like janky every week.
(12:54):
Yeah, dude, I'm gonna be so mad, I'm gonna be irritated, and
we'll talk about it for 15episodes, so for the next six.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Well, I never read it
, so I'm a fresh viewer.
We'll see.
I guess we'll see how I feel onit.
Maybe we'll have differentopinions because I'm not
comparing it.
Maybe that'll help.
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
There's always that
chance that the studio pulls off
a miracle and it looks great.
But you know, studio ACATdoesn't really have any bangers
out there no-transcript.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
They couldn't, they
just couldn't.
They couldn't handle it, man.
Unfortunately yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
So I mean, final
thought, I think it's still
worth checking out.
Um, I'm gonna watch itregardless.
Uh, and just, you know, hopingand praying that they, they, may
make it look better than what Isaw on that trip okay, well, I
mean, I guess we're gonna findout.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
I'll.
I'll take the next one.
Some fire force action, yeah, coming out.
So it looks like it's seasonthree and it's gonna be the
final season of the anime.
I did watch season one and two.
Um, I don't remember two asmuch as I think it's been a few
years since it came out.
I'm having a hard timeremembering the full season.
But I know this one's going tobe released in two hours or
(14:30):
parts.
So what do they do?
Like 12, 13 episodes each.
Usually they like to spreadthat out, but it's going to kind
of pick up at the end of seasontwo with Shinra unlocking a new
level of power and companyeight kind of preparing for the
larger conflict with the whitecloud and the evangelist.
So it should be probably prettygood.
Um, fire force is a.
I have a weird relationship withthis show because I love fire
(14:54):
powered characters.
I mean they're my favorite inmost.
I love him and you know thewhole thing about Firepower
character is cool, the differentversions of that.
And I do like Shinra.
I mean he's pretty cool.
But it's a strange show.
It doesn't.
I feel like it has the thingsthat it should be grabbing me
and it never really has.
Although I have watched it,enjoying the action scenes in
(15:15):
the fights, it just doesn't haveto me.
It's not hitting the emotionalthing that really bind me to the
story and be locked in typestuff.
It's more just like, okay, it'scool, let's just watch it for
the fights and that's could be ame thing, I don't know.
I mean, people probably love it.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
So I have issues.
I, I have issues.
Yeah, I have issues.
Uh, I'm only.
You know several episodes in umyeah, you just started season
one.
I did right, I did, and honestly, if it weren't for the fact
that I need to kind of catch upon the story and see what's
happening, I probably would quitart because I thought the
biggest issue was going to be.
(15:51):
Let me back that up.
So you know, I've heard a lotof people say season one was
great.
Season two, the studio reallyfell off and it just didn't look
very clean't look good, yada, yada, yada right.
So I going into it.
I expected that to be like myreaction as well.
That's not what I see going inman, like episode one, it feels
(16:11):
like it's two different studiosanimating that in episode one.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Um, maybe there was.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
I don't know the
background of that bro, I don't
know the fire, the cgi in thefire in episode one.
I'm like this is the cleanestyou guys can do.
This.
This looks bad.
So I'm just gonna be talkingcrap about you know all kinds of
animation and cgi stuff tonight, because that that's just my
impression.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
Tonight is we're just
that's your, that's your thing
that's that's, that's my rant itgot cleaner, though I don't
remember it being super ugly artor anything.
I just don't remember beingbought in on the story, like the
fighting was really cool andunique and he fights cool with
it, he shoots fire out of hisfeet and stuff, like it's pretty
cool.
But I just like the story to meis all.
I just it's all over the place.
(16:55):
I can't, I can't seem to lockin on it and I just feel like
I'm watching it specifically tosee cool fire based action.
Yeah, which you need more thanthat man.
You need the story you need.
I'm just not bought in.
Maybe it's just not for mealthough yeah yeah weren't you
saying something about?
Speaker 1 (17:12):
this is tangentially
related, or maybe in the same
universe as um.
What?
Speaker 2 (17:18):
does that?
Show what uh, so yeah yeah, soit's the same creator and in
everything of both.
And apparently it does link upto soldier, which I loved, soul
eater I mean that was one of myfavorite early shows, so I mean
it was goofy, it was cool, likeit was fun, it was different,
yeah it wasn't the best thing.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
It was, let's face it
, it's not the best anime out
there, it's not even the bestdrawn anime out there, but I
remember it was, unique thoughit was.
Let's face it, it's not thebest anime out there, it's not
even the best drawn anime outthere, but I remember it was
unique, though it wasconsistently animated.
The animation was consistent, itlooked decent and there was
enough funny points in there tokind of cover up like some of
the plot stuff that I was justlike, well, that's stupid, you
know, but yeah to me, for me,there was enough funny moments
(17:59):
in that show.
Oh yeah, this is great this isgreat.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Yeah, I like Solior,
so it doesn't give me that vibe
of that at all.
So I don't really know.
I haven't looked into it to thepoint where, like, this is how
it connects.
I didn't even finish the FireForce manga.
I'm just going to finish theshow, you know, and they'll
connect it that way.
So you know, I'll be learning,I guess, more about that.
But hopefully the season isbetter.
I don't know for me.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
So I mean, obviously
I said you know I've got issues
with the animation.
The storytelling wasinteresting enough that I'll
stick with it and I'll watch it.
But yeah, I don't know, Iwasn't impressed with the early
animation.
Like some of the scenes aregreat and then just some of it
kind of falls flat, it justdoesn't look good and are great
(18:48):
and then just some of it kind offalls flat, just doesn't look
good and that's, that's fine,whatever.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Maybe I'm just super
picky about the way fire looks
on animation I I don't know.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Yeah, um well, check
it out.
The story is decent enough thatI'm I'll continue.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
All right, what?
Speaker 1 (18:53):
we got next um, so we
got a new one and it's called
once upon a witch's death, okay, and this is going to be
produced by EMT Squared and Ihad to look it up because I feel
like I've seen the name EMTSquared but I don't know.
I was like I don't know and Idefinitely recognize some of the
names in their list but like Ireally don't know much about the
studio.
(19:14):
But I think with Once Upon aWitch's Death, what I think kind
of the most interesting thinghere is it's it's setting it up
this to this.
It looks like it's going to belike one of these emotional
rollercoaster kind of things.
You know what I mean.
That has some like real depth.
You know the, the main character.
She finds out at the beginningthat she's been given one year
(19:35):
to live unless she completes Xtask, you know which.
That's pretty standard, Likethat's happened before, right,
there's people have done stufflike that.
That's not fresh, Um, but whatis fresh is that I didn't see
anything that looked like thisis going to be um, I don't know,
it just didn't look like.
It looked like it was going totake a little bit more serious
(19:56):
tones to it.
You know what I mean Maybe alittle bit like apothecary
diaries, um okay like I'm surethere will still be some
light-hearted stuff in there.
I'm sure it'll be good, but thejust from the trailer.
The animation looked clean, youknow, and again, obviously it's
the trailer.
They're supposed to be puttingforth the best work there, but
the animation looked dope in thetrailer.
The characters, all the femalecharacters, looked well drawn.
(20:17):
Um, I don't remember if I evensaw a male character in in in
the in the trailer, but itlooked good man, it looked like.
You know they can bring somestrong character development.
I mean especially, like, ifyou're focusing on what the,
what the main character is goingto do with, like her limited
time left, right, you canexplore a lot there.
Like is she going to try tochange her fate?
(20:39):
Is she going to look forrevenge?
Like, what is she going to do?
You know I don't know enoughabout this.
I know there is light novels,so I'm probably gonna end up
getting at least one of thenight level light novels to see.
We know you will yeah, right, like I got you, um, but yeah,
like I think this would be goodman, and this looks like this
could be one that just you knowit's gonna be.
It looks like this could be oneof the breakout anime.
(21:00):
I don't know, that's just mytake on it.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
Well, hey, let's give
it a shot and see right.
I mean, it was like originalstories, so let's do it.
Well, I know we talked abouttrailers tonight, but we have to
admit that Devil May Crytrailer was dope, dude, sick,
sick.
I loved it April 3rd.
I loved it april 3rd, loved itcoming out.
Oh, dude, I was like this, isit so cool thing about it?
(21:24):
Um, same anime studio ofcastlevania, even x-men 97,
which is cool, and legend ofkorra, so they can do action.
We're, and devil may cry isaction.
City man, that whole thing is,yeah, I want cocky one liners,
awesome for sure, that hasaction.
And let's get dante, just like, let's blow him up because he's
(21:45):
just such a cool character man.
He just and you know he doesreek of like 90s, 2000s which
you heard in the trailer theyhad oh, they brought the popper
road, brought all the bro, limpbiscuit and stuff on one of the
trailers, like fantastic, thisis dude, it's gonna be a vibe,
this is gonna be fun.
And you know who's voicing them?
The guy who does ichigo.
Come on, man, this is perfect.
(22:06):
Nice, this is gonna be perfect.
The shit talking is there.
He's gonna be running his mouth, shooting his guns, cutting
demons to pieces, like there'sjust I don't see how in the
world this is not going to be afun show.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
No, it's going to be,
and I will say I've been
waiting for this for freakingever dude.
Like the minute they firsttalked about it I was like oh,
hell, yes.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
Dude, 2018 is when it
was announced.
By the way, I loved it.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
That's how long it's
been, and here's the thing I
loved the initial, you know, runof the.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Devil May Cry anime
Like dude.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
it was so lame and it
was terrible and it was like
terrible storytelling, but Idon't know, dude, I loved it.
The action was cool, so maybe Iguess we've got a thing here
for like some seriously stupidlyoverpowered action scenes Like
that might be our thing.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
When we watch this,
it better evoke the action from
the game and if it's anythinglike the trailer, it looks like
it is running up buildingsjumping, like it better be, you
know, jumping and standing on asword type stuff, like that's
how dante is.
So I feel like it will.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
They showed virgil in
the trailer, his brother, so we
already know, is it likethere's gonna be three seconds
of the trailer?
Speaker 2 (23:17):
yeah, oh, man,
virgil's a beast.
So this is gonna be and they'lldrop it all at once.
That's what actually.
Oh, that would be well I hope.
Actually.
I don't know, because they didthat with castlevania, but they
might not their their showsakamoto days right now.
Yeah, their anime of that is isweekly.
I guess we'll find out.
Hopefully it's a binger that'sgonna be one.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
If they don't release
it all at the same time, like I
honestly think, we're justgonna have to not talk about it
for 12 weeks because I'm gonnawait and then I'm gonna do all
of it, dude, there's no way Ihave to watch it the day, yeah,
no same.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
The morning it drops
as soon as it comes out.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
I'm gonna watch it
and and you're right like um,
it's got to evoke the feeling ofright, and I think that's what
most of us that are hype aboutthis.
Is that what?
That's what we're hyped for, right like um, that feeling you
know that we played the initialgames like way back in the way
back um, it just put you in thetime machine, man, and take you
back and, like you, just lovethat feeling.
And that's what I loved aboutthe initial anime as well, you
(24:14):
know, because again it's like Isaid, it's not that the anime
was great, because it wasn't um,it just brought back that.
You know that just that superchill feeling.
You know, just spending yourafternoon playing Devil May Cry.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
Well, I don't know.
I loved it and the heavy metalhelps right.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
As your cut demons
happen.
Yeah, absolutely yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
We're in for a treat
for sure on this.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
I 100% cannot wait
for this Dude.
I'm so freaking hyped.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
I'm not even gonna
sleep.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
He's gonna just gonna
watch it the hour it comes out
2 am or whatever.
Absolutely 100.
I'm gonna be staring at thescreen.
Just when does this drop play, refresh, refresh refresh.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Absolutely,
absolutely.
Well, yeah, we'll be enjoyingthis one, for sure.
What you got another one on thelist?
Uh, yeah, I think we do.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
Um, there's one I'm
gonna save for last, so I'm
gonna kind of skip over that forright now, but I will talk
about Black Butler.
So, did you watch any of theBlack Butler at all, ever?
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Yeah, so I watched,
like the original show I mean
it's older now, I guess, but Iwas enjoying it.
But I could never just get intoit.
Man, there's something about itthat I liked the Victoria era
in the demon, you all that but Ijust I couldn't finish it, and
that's probably a me thing.
I think I just fell into othershows, but it is.
(25:28):
I always thought it was a coolseries.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
You know, it's very
popular so, of all things, my
sister was the one that had totell me to watch black butler
how random yeah, no, it's goodand I'm like wait you watch
anime and she's like no, but Ilike black butler
oh, okay um, that's, but no, I Imean.
So this is something about.
For me this is going to be alittle bit like um, the same
vibes when I was talking aboutwanting miss born to be made
(25:52):
into um, just bring in some ofthe, you know, victorian era
england vibes, like mixing alittle bit of devil's laying
that that part has, but you know, just the background vibes.
Right, you got the kind ofgothic, uh, architecture stuff.
I don't know, I love them.
You love that stuff I really doI really do in in literature or
anime like I.
I love it, I think it looksfantastic.
(26:12):
Um, I think that can fix a lotof story stuff.
Just bad.
Um, I think that kind ofenvironment can fix a lot of
other story stuff, but that'snot the issue with black Butler.
I thought.
Black Butler, I think, is fine.
So, yeah, now I'm lookingforward to this Emerald witch
arc and I will watch it and youknow we'll talk about it then
again, animation looks superdope, super clean, feels like a
(26:34):
fresher update to you know whatnot previously for the show.
So, no, I'm ready for it, man, like I'm.
I don't have a lot to say on it, um, because it has been a
little bit of time since Iwatched black it's been a while,
but I remember liking it right,like that's.
people say you remember stuffyou don't like more than you do,
than what you do like, which isprobably true.
Like I can't really pick outanything that you know super
(26:57):
specific that I loved about thatshow, um, but but I enjoyed it.
It was fun, um, I don't know.
Yeah, it's just I think it'sgoing to be super dope and I
think it'll probably make somewaves because it's black Butler.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Yeah, it's a hugely
popular series, for sure.
I think more women like it,kind of what you were saying
about your sister.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
I think it's one of
those ones dude, we should
probably look up the stats onthat.
Not right now, but I know maybeit is.
Maybe it is something like that.
It's where it's just a biggerdeal with yeah you know, women
in general.
Um, I don't know, that could beit.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
I don't care, I think
it's good yeah, I thought
sebastian was cool, I rememberthat yeah, the kid, the main kid
.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
I don't know he was
okay, but the, but, yeah, the
demon, I mean you got a demonbutler dude like that, come on,
he's a demon butler and he'swaiting to eat you yeah yeah,
it's pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
It's just a good
storyline, yeah, well, I mean,
we got the next one here, man.
You know we've been talkingabout this before the my hero
academia vigilantes, yeah, finally popping up on april 7th
and it is a spin-off of theoriginal my hero academia series
, which is uh pretty cool.
Um, it does take place Ibelieve it's five years before
the original show, which youknow.
(28:04):
That's kind of cool, and itcenters on a 19 year old instead
of like a 13 year old, you know, so it's an adult, which is
kind of cool.
He uh idolizes heroes like allmy.
You know he does not have aflashy quirk at all.
His is actually called slidingglide.
And wait, no, that's the nameof his power slide and glide yes
, sliding that's awesome dude.
(28:25):
It's hilarious.
So he can slide along surfacesat moderate speeds, that's
moderate speeds that's literallyhow they, how they say it.
So he kind of he never passedthe hero exam, so you have to be
licensed in the my hero world Imean, how are you gonna pass a
hero exam with moderate speeds?
moderate speeds like come on,yeah.
(28:45):
So he kind of gave up on it.
Did you know a regular job?
And then he kind of juststarted helping people in his
little neighborhood like youknow, helping cats out of trees
and picking up litter, like justyou know silly little things
that you're not going to getfamous for as a hero.
So people would call him likenice guy.
Um, he ends up saving a, a girl.
(29:05):
She's like a street performer, like a pop star from thugs and,
as that's kind of happening, this other vigilante hero called
knuckle duster.
He's a quirkless vigilante, sohe doesn't have a power, which
is kind of cool Beats the thugsup, saves them, starts teaching
them how to fight and how tomaster his power.
So it's kind of cool becausethey form this little trio where
(29:28):
they kind of go around thissmall town, like X section of
the city in a legal gray areaand just protect their community
.
What's going on in thealleyways is there's a drug
called Trigger that's beingdealt out to people who are
taking the drug.
It's enhancing their quirkslike a steroid, but it they
(29:48):
start losing it and gettingviolent.
So like there's this whole likeconspiracy story of like that
going on and they're like tryingto figure it out and help,
without getting kind of caughtby the real heroes, because the
real heroes are too busyhandling big things, they're not
worried about small level stuff.
So it's it's kind of caught bythe real heroes, because the
real heroes are too busyhandling big things, they're not
worried about small level stuff.
So it's it's kind of cool man.
It's a cool little like sidestory and it does lead into the
(30:10):
larger tale with all for onewho's the villain, like?
It'll go into some stuff likethat and it's produced by the uh
, the same studio of my hero, sothe art looks the same.
We don't have any.
Why is the art completelydifferent of the main series?
It's, it's the same world, thesame art, just street level,
instead of, you know, flyingthrough the sky and and
(30:31):
launching fireballs and punchingbuildings down, like the main
series can we just so it'll befun.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
We go back to this
kid that has a bad ass
superpower name called Slide andGlide.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Slide and Glide, dude
, and then it completely falls
because it gives him moderatespeeds.
I don't know Moderate speedsand what's actually really cool
about this is that he takes thislittle quirk that no one cares
about and he masters it to thepoint of he actually becomes
pretty awesome with it.
He masters it to the point oflike, he actually becomes pretty
awesome with it, so it's goingto be fun to watch.
(31:05):
You know a character that gofrom nothing to you know he
always aspired to be a hero, right?
Speaker 1 (31:11):
So are you still
telling me that I need to start
MHA before I watch?
This, yes, even though it's aprequel, even though it's a
prequel.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
Even though it's a
prequel, I would watch it at
least five to ten episodes justto see all might and see what
all my he's literally like thesuperman character and the
effect that he has on the entireworld.
Okay, and you'll see it invigilantes too, because he's
he's an all my fanboy.
I gotcha, just like the kiddeku is in the original series.
Yeah for sure.
So you got a couple weeks.
(31:39):
Well, you got about a month.
Actually, get on it yeah, I'll,I'll watch what we got next, or
do you want me to take the nextone?
Speaker 1 (31:45):
yeah, take the next
one, because I okay, I don't
know I feel like this last onethat I'm holding on to I don't
know, okay, or should we just doit?
Speaker 2 (31:54):
just hold on to it
and it'll be fine.
So this next one, it's kind oflike the other one you were
saying original only lazarus iswhat it's called.
There's no other manga oranything.
It's like a straight up series, which is pretty cool.
It'll, uh, premiere on april5th, which is pretty you know,
soon, and funny enough, it'scoming on adult swims tsunami.
But I remember growing up ontsunami.
It's going to be coming on that, which is which is pretty dope.
(32:16):
It is produced by mappa, sothey're the attack on titan and
jiu-jitsu kaizen um studios.
They're huge 13 episode yepsci-fi action.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
So maybe some
psychopath vibes, maybe that's
kind of what I was hoping, maybethat's what I've been hoping
for yeah when I saw this read ita little bit about it I was
like, okay, uh, I'm you know, because I've been waiting for
something to fill thatpsychopath hole, that's there's
not a lot out there that takesthat type of uh of you know
right path to try to get there.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
So it takes place in
2052, utopian era.
Humanity enjoys peace, there isno sickness whatsoever.
There's a miracle drug that wasdeveloped.
Um, but three years after thisdrug and everyone's super happy
about it the doctor invented ithe disappears, okay, okay.
So 2055 comes with a chillingrevelation there's a fatal flaw.
(33:10):
Everyone who took this, thisdrug, will die within the next
three years.
Dude, we're in a will smithmovie.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
This is the plot of
this is the plot of a will smith
movie where everybody turnsinto vampire zombies.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
Dude, right.
So then what happens is there'sa formation of a team, a task
force called Lazarus.
So there are five agents fromaround the globe and they're
tasked with hunting down thisdude and finding this cure slash
, vaccine against this drug, andthey have 30 days to do it.
So it's going to be espionage, high stakes action, science
fiction.
You know it's going to beespionage, high stakes action,
(33:43):
science fiction.
You know it's going to bepretty, probably interesting and
weirdly, it's playing on thekind of like opioid crisis stuff
you know, with like this drugout there and like people took
it because oh, it's great, it'sa miracle thing.
And then there's this terriblelike I don't know if you want to
call side effect or whatever um, but it's gonna be probably
(34:05):
pretty cool side effect bro, Imean I I don't know if, like
this dude did it on purpose onlike some sort of online vibes,
you know like, haha, you're inthe game.
Now you're stuck right.
Maybe it's that, I don't know.
Um, but the action scenes weredeveloped by chad stahlowski.
I'm gonna say it wrong, buthe's the mastermind behind john
wick action scenes.
(34:25):
So it's probably gonna be dude, visceral choreographed combat.
It's probably gonna be like oh,I mean we can hope right like.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
That's the right.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
It's the big help
yeah, and apparently um is
there's some kind of looseconnection with the cowboy bebop
universe I thought it's thesame, so I don't know what I
think it is.
So we'll see.
Maybe there'll be some kind oflike hints.
I don't know, I'm excited manyeah, I'm, super I'm, I'm
excited.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
And then I will also
be excited when I scream out
that this is the exact plot of awill smith movie.
It does sound like that, doesn't it?
No, it did.
What's the name of that movie?
It, it does sound like it.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
Are you talking about
I Am Legend?
Are you talking about I AmLegend?
Yes, I Am.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
Legend.
Thank you, this is what that is.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
This is what that
sounds like, but there's no
vampires in this one.
They stole, I Am.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
Legend and they made
it an anime.
Well, it would be a good animeto be honest, like that's what
the name is.
This is, I am legend.
Speaker 2 (35:21):
I see it, this is I
am legend.
I feel like I feel like youjust got caught doing something.
I think you found out whatthey're doing.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
FBI is coming for me
now.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
They're going to
knock on your door.
What is this last thing you got?
Speaker 1 (35:31):
man, I'm ready for
this dude and like we probably
should have just done it earlier.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
The buildup for this
is going to be so lame.
Everybody's going like, so theyare remastering 20th year
anniversary.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
Remastering yugioh,
oh okay, like redrawing it type
thing or what it doesn'tspecifically say redrawn, but I
mean you can upscale that itsays enhanced visuals.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
Maybe you don't need
to redraw that there.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
If you throw enough,
if you throw enough graphics
cards at it, you can upscale theentire the entire series but
here's the caveat.
You know it was epic.
I love that.
I love the show.
Here is the caveat and thecrappy part we are not even sure
if we are going to be able towatch this.
They've only announced this tobe, uh, to be put out in japan
(36:18):
right now okay, oh man, come on,that'll be online.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
You're telling me
there's no.
I mean, oh yeah, sure you'll beable to find it online
somewhere.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
But I mean again, you
know, like that, that's
freaking somebody's gonna snackit up, man, come on.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
They know why.
You would think you would hopesomeone get it.
I don't know, so I'm excitedfor you.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
Like dude, I was
super pumped for this.
Um, just because that's like, Iloved yugioh and I would love
to show my kids Yu-Gi-Oh, ohyeah.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
It was fun, man.
Yeah, I loved it.
Cabo was my boy.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
I loved it.
Speaker 2 (36:48):
It was great With the
blue eyes, white dragon.
He was also another one thatlikes to run his mouth.
He's a yapper.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
Oh yeah, no for sure.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
Well, hey, dude,
that's epic.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
mad about that, get
out of here so should we uh do a
hot take?
Speaker 2 (37:04):
yeah, let's uh let's
do it.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
What do we got?
If you could live in any animeworld, which would it be?
Oh, hold on, keep in mind, youdon't get to choose whether you
have any kind of special powers.
So, keeping that in mind, ifyou could live in any anime
world, which one would it be?
All right?
So I got one.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
Hit me Because in the
my Hero world, like 95% of
people have a quirk.
Okay, and they're not all great.
I'm laughing because, wait, Iwill take those odds, brother, I
will take the odds because 95%I doubt I'm going to be
quirkless.
I'm doubt I'm going to bequirkless.
I doubt I'm going to bequirkless and hopefully it's not
something ridiculous like youcan levitate five inches off the
(37:47):
ground or slide and glide oversomething cool.
Speaker 1 (37:54):
You can turn corners
at a moderate speed.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
Dude, that would be
horrible, but you might get a
banger.
Speaker 1 (38:08):
But, honestly, slide
and glide would be pretty badass
if you're just a normal human.
Yeah, going to work right, yeah, okay.
So here's why I busted uplaughing.
And you're gonna love this.
And we did not coordinate onthis.
I threw this question to jordan, like he saw this maybe five
minutes before we startedrecording.
We did not discuss this is whyI busted up laughing.
If I could live in any animeworld, the one I would choose
would be black clover, becauseost is the only one that's born
without magic fat.
(38:30):
Yes, dude, so I mean, butthinking on the side, some of
them have some lame powers thatmatter.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
You know what I mean.
It doesn't matter, you stillhave something in the chance,
right like because I'mguaranteed.
Speaker 1 (38:40):
Do you have magic at?
Speaker 2 (38:42):
I'm guaranteed, dude
he was the only one without the
only one I didn't even thinkabout that.
Yeah, so I just thought thatwas.
Speaker 1 (38:48):
We're on the same
level we were right there, like
that was the same, we're gettingpower.
Yeah, that was yeah, exactly,I'm getting powers.
Screw that shit.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
See I would have
thought of black culver, but I
haven't watched it in like overa year or two, so I didn't.
I didn't think about it.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
I'm almost that would
have been a better one, because
yeah, it's literally 99.9 ofthe everybody besides him.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
Yeah, dude, epic epic
.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
Great answer, bro.
All right.
So what are we going to betalking about next week?
Jordan uh, looks like we havewhy does?
Speaker 2 (39:17):
oh, the good old say
it for me, buddy, I like how you
say isekai.
Good, there you go, dominateanime.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
So this will be
interesting yeah, I think we're
gonna figure this out.
I think that'll be a good topic.
We can dive into that and talkabout that for a while oh,
absolutely, especially becausewhat six out of ten anime?
Speaker 2 (39:36):
exactly we'll love it
well thanks for listening
