The line between fiction and reality blurred as we ventured to witness the inaugural real-life Hunter's Exam, bringing the legendary challenge from Hunter x Hunter into our world. What followed was a day filled with triumphs, chaos, and moments straight out of anime that left us both exhilarated and stunned.

Approximately 700 competitors gathered to face a series of five increasingly difficult phases, beginning with a brutal eight-mile cross-country run that immediately eliminated half the participants. The leaders finished in a blistering 51 minutes, maintaining a 6:15 mile pace that would make even Gon and Killua proud. We watched in awe as dedicated cosplayers—including one tenacious competitor who carried Leorio's signature briefcase through the entire eight-mile course—pushed beyond normal human limits.

The standout moment came during Phase Two's capture-the-flag competition when the iconic Hunter x Hunter soundtrack started playing. What followed was pure adrenaline-fueled chaos—competitors sprinting full-speed at each other, strategic alliances forming instantly, and unfortunately, a few injuries including one participant who split his eye open in a collision. Despite the "no contact" rules, the competitive spirit was overwhelming, creating a genuinely tense atmosphere that perfectly captured the psychological pressure from the anime.

Most impressive were the unexpected successes—teenagers completing the grueling first phase, cosplayers dominating the competition, and a community atmosphere that remained positive despite the high-stakes environment. While logistical challenges extended the event well beyond its scheduled end time, the inaugural Hunter's Exam proved that anime challenges can translate remarkably well to reality when fans commit their bodies and spirits to the test.

Have you ever wondered if you could pass a real-life Hunter's Exam? Follow our journey through the realm of anime-inspired reality and let us know which phase would eliminate you in the comments!

Speaker 1 (00:05):

I'm Andrew and this is myco-host, jordan.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Hey everyone.
We're here to dive into theworlds of fantasy and anime,
bringing you epic stories andunforgettable adventures.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
We'll be talking world building, unforgettable
villains and everything thatmakes these genres legendary.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
So let's jump into the realm and everything that
makes these genres legendary.
So let's jump into the realm.
Welcome back to Realm Jumpers.
We just returned from thereal-life Hunter's Exam, and it
was an event inspired by Hunterx Hunter, and we're here to
share our thoughts from intensechallenges to unexpected
surprises.
We're breaking it all down.
Let's get into it.
How you doing, buddy?

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Bad man Doing good.
I definitely have a lot to talkabout from the hunter's exam.
I'm sure you do as well.
We didn't really compare toomuch notes, um, on the way back,
so I think this is a good timeto get into it.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
What an experience, man.
That was a really, reallyinteresting.
Uh, that was a crazy, crazything, dude, yeah, no it was it.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
It.
It had its ups and downs, butit was a lot of fun, um, overall
, you know.
But uh, let's start with thevibe check.
Like how did you feel about theevent?
Like overall, what was the?
What was your overall feelingabout the event?

Speaker 2 (01:15):
my overall feeling was I would say that it was a
success, because anytime someonetries to pull off a first-time
event and I don't know thebackground if there was like a
ton of planning and stuff, butit seemed like there was a lot
of volunteers and you knowthere's a lot of bumps in the
road, but you know first timeevents, man, it's not easy.

(01:35):
So for me I would say vibecheck is good and I feel like it
would just get better over time, I hope.
What about you?

Speaker 1 (01:43):
yeah, man, I agree, um, overall, it's passed on.
The vibe check, um, it was, youknow, fun, family friendly
environment.
Uh, they, I mean, there wasplenty of people out there with
families and you know, they hadtheir kids, which was great to
see, because I you weren't surewhat to expect at an event like
this to begin with.
You know, um, it could havebeen all cosplayers, all adults,

(02:04):
um, but no, it was nice to.
You know, um, it could havebeen all cosplayers, all adults,
um, but no, it was nice to see,you know, families show up with
their kids and, like everybody, for the most part, stay pretty
respectful and pretty chill.
Um, you know, like you alreadysaid, every, every first time
event is going to have its upsand downs, and any event period,
whether it's been going on youknow that's the first time or
it's it's 15th time Any event isgoing to have some small

(02:26):
hiccups, but they're alwaysgoing to be, you know, a little
bit more visible in that, inthat first event, and I think
that's what we caught the tailend of.
But I would say, let's probablymaybe save, like, the
criticisms for, you know, likethe end, after we've gone
through all the phases.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yeah, it's a good idea.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
And then we'll, you know, we'll dive into that stuff
, that's kind of why, yeah, sure.
Because, overall, you know, like I think it was a positive
experience and I really enjoyedit.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Yeah, it was definitely cool, and mad respect
to anybody who dressed up orput face paint on and ran
Absolutely and did this because, dude, like phase one, I mean
let's just jump right into that, right?
So first phase is a straight upeight mile cross country course
run.
Um, and thank God the weatherwas like breezy and cool Cause

(03:12):
if it would have been likereally hot, dude, can you
imagine?
No, dude.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Uh, we were talking about that.
It was supposed to get up to 82that day and it was supposed to
have rained that morning andI'm so glad it didn't.
Um, not just for the spectators, you know, for the competitors,
for anybody that was out thererunning that course, because
when we say cross country, doyou mean that it was very hilly?
There definitely were a lot oflow spots where, if it had
rained, they'd have been runningthrough the mud If they wanted

(03:38):
to, you know, if they wanted tostay on course.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
But you know it was wild.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
It was wild, the course.
So do we want to just go overall the phases now or talk about
like let's do was for let's.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Let's go through.
Let's just say what all thephases are, so that everyone
knows, and then we can go backto phase one and talk about it,
because that one was a brutaloff the jump man.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
That's true all right , so go ahead with phase two
yeah, phase two was anassassination game, which you
know.
Obviously we're in the realworld, so this was basically a a
pretty intense game of capturethe flag.
I think we can say intense.
We'll come back and cover that, but intense is the right word,
I think, to use that.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Yeah I agree it was.
Uh, it was.
Yeah, I agree it was prettyphysical, but again, we'll jump
back in.
So phase three was Labyrinth.
So what this was is it's prettymuch like a ninja training
course situation, with ahalf-pipe wall that you have to
get up.
That was timed.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Yeah, they had a long run at the end.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Yeah, pretty rough, Difficult man for sure.
What was phase four?
This, I know this is the onethat you were talking about
earlier.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Phase four was the deception phase, which is
basically a game of werewolf andfor anybody that hasn't heard
of the game of werewolf, it'ssimilar to, you know, to mafia.
The objective is villagers tryto eliminate all the werewolves,
while the werewolves are tryingto eliminate the villagers, to
take control.
So you know, you know, let'ssay you have a group of 15

(05:07):
playing this game, you knowyou'll have like 11 villagers
and maybe three or fourwerewolves.
And then you'll have somebodylike designated as the doctor,
and so you have a night phase.
You know the game master willcall OK, it's.
You know it's nighttime, everybody go to sleep, you know.
You just close your eyes andthen the werewolves will choose
a victim who they're going tokill.
And then you know whetheryou're using like a seer or a

(05:34):
doctor.
You know they get to choosesomebody to save in the next
like part of that round.
So you might luck out in theseer or the doctor could choose
the person that the werewolveschose to eliminate.
Also, it could.
They could just randomly, youknow, say like I'm gonna, I'm
gonna make sure my friends staysafe, so I'll choose them.
And then you know thewerewolves can work their way
through that.
So then it moves on to the dayphase.
After that players discuss, uh,you know, accuse everybody.

(05:58):
But basically you know the tldr.
There is that, like the peoplethat are the werewolves are, you
know, doing a big game of likepointing at everybody else and
saying no, I'm not the werewolf,he's the werewolf yeah
absolutely yeah, and thevillagers get to choose to
eliminate somebody after votingon it, and obviously you know,
if they don't choose a werewolf,they won't know, uh,

(06:19):
immediately and you know.
Then you have just theelimination.
The cycle keeps repeating untilone team wins.
You know, basically, either thewerewolves take over the
village or the villagers cop onand figure out who the
werewolves are and eliminate allof them uh, it's a great game
for for deception man, that'sright.
Yeah, it's a lot of strategy, alot of bluffing, just just a

(06:40):
lot of lying in general, but itcould be very fun.
I've played once.
Um, I mean we played it as adrinking game, so it was.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
It was definitely pretty fun yeah, yeah, that'd be
way more fun for sure.
Then a high stakes you're gonnaget tossed out of this exam
after running eight miles rightand surviving all these
different things, and then what?
The last one is one-on-onecombat, which I wish it could
have been like an mma situation, but it's uh, the waivers for
that yeah, that's a little much.

(07:09):
So it was, uh, you know, pushingsomeone off balance type
situation.
Um, and yeah, that was the fivephases of this.
Uh, you know, inaugural hunters, you know, exam hunter, exam
all right.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
So we've already talked about the uh, you know
the vibe check for a little bit,but how did you feel about, you
know, phase one?
Like what was what was going onduring phase one?
What were your impressions?

Speaker 2 (07:31):
so for phase one, you know it was, it was a long run,
like every.
You know well.
How many competitors was it 700?
How much?

Speaker 1 (07:40):
yes, they started, so we're going off of the numbers
that the hunters association wasproviding in like real-time
updates, and they said it wasabout 700 people that took took
part in phase one, okay, whichso that's a brutal amount of
people to be trying to runaround yeah, dude.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
So there's, you know.
So think about it right 700people.
They blow the air horn go, theystart running and it was two
laps around this enormousproperty.
That's like four miles dudefour miles and then you can see.
You know it was cool, it washilly.
You can see the mountains out.
There's like a fence line andthey're going and it was pretty

(08:18):
intense like start to thisbecause they had a truck.
That was the pace you you knowpace character where they had to
stay right.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
and remember those two guys, dude those I'm telling
you, man, if those roads hadn'tbeen paved, I just swore they
were on like skateboards orsomething.
Uh, oh, I know you know what Imean, because that's how fast
they were moving.
They were jamming behind thatpace truck, I think when they
what did?
I what I say it was, Icalculated when they finished.
They finished in like 51minutes, so it was like a 615

(08:48):
mile or something like that.
Yeah, and it was what?

Speaker 2 (08:50):
yeah, the one and two ran together.
And then the third was what?
15 minutes behind them?

Speaker 1 (08:56):
something like that yeah, five to ten, twelve.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Yeah, that's behind them so they were really cooking
um, but we got to talk aboutthe shortcut.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Oh, dude, we gotta.
We have to talk about the linecutters, because the line I I
felt a little certain kind ofway about that because you know,
I think in the hunter's examyou have to encourage or maybe
not encourage but not completelyoutright eliminate people for
cheating.
So there was a deep bend and inone it was almost off the jump

(09:25):
street.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
It was probably within the first half mile yeah,
uh, in the beginning there wasa group of people that made a
deep cut around this bend andthey all got eliminated and that
and the announcement did theannouncement of hey, uh, we
can't really tell them whilethey're running, but if one of
your friends or family member,uh did, did a deep cut, you need
to call them and tell them justto drop out because they're

(09:46):
wasting their time.
They're done.
Yeah, because there was a dronethat was watching everything
they had.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Well, they also had uh volunteers out there oh, so
they got pointed out.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
So here's the brutal.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Here's the thing, though, man like yeah, no,
definitely brutal, but likeearly on in the stream, because
we were trying to watch it and,and you know, participate in the
you know in the event, hang outand have a good time.
Um, but I had the stream up andearly on, after they first made
the deep cut, like theannouncers were all like, oh,
that's a good strategy, and theywere talking about what the
racers should do for that secondlap.

(10:18):
And you know the the one guywas like well, now that you know
the people have done it, Ithink everybody has to make that
deep cut coming into the secondlap because otherwise you're
just not going to make the 51%.
It's probably a good thingnobody racing could actually
listen to the stream.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Can you imagine they would have just been like then.
Next, you know they go.
What do they say?
Like yeah, nevermind, they'reall limiting.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Yeah, that's exactly.
They said.
We just got a note.
Yeah, never mind, they're alleliminated.
Yeah, that's exactly.
They said we just got a note, they're all going to be
eliminated.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
And we're like, oh man, but we respect the hustle.
I mean this is yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
I mean Killua skateboarded through the whole
thing.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Yeah, there's like a hoverboard guy too, like come on
.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Let him make a cut.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
He's still got to run .
You know, seven miles.
Well, the like.
The most impressive thing aboutthe whole thing is they did
straight up cut what 51 was out.
If you hit 51, you were done.
They threw a line up, and ifyou didn't make it, you which.
There was a couple guys thatthey were like I was the 54, you
know, they were so upset aboutit that was which I?

Speaker 1 (11:18):
yeah, they were like I'm running up and they're
pulling the line across the roadI'll be so, so mad about that.
Yeah, I'd be pretty irritated.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
You got to do it.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Yeah, for sure.
I mean you have to, becausethey clearly said they said
ahead of time that 50% of thepeople weren't going to make it
out of the first phase.
And for an event like this youhave to make some deep cuts
early on, because otherwise itjust doesn't work.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Well, talk about the kids who made it through.
Yeah, there were a couple ofteenagers, young teenagers, I
you know, probably 13 to 15 Idon't know he looked 13 to me,
but I mean he could have been 14or 15 I guess, dude, to make it
through that first round isalready a win, like, yeah,
absolutely, I have so muchrespect for you to be able to
finish that as a kid, becauseyou know the adults are just

(12:08):
struggling, man for sure I didsee, dude.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
There was a lot of military people in that early
group though of course, becausethey were used to it yeah, no
for sure they're like.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
This is what we do on tuesday but it was, it was
really cool to be at the finishline and, like you know, see
them come across.
And yeah, you know, it wasreally cool to be at the finish
line and see them come acrossand it was a pretty.
You could just see and people'sfamilies, like you said, were
out there cheering for them.
And where are they at, tryingto watch the live stream from
the drone, trying to see wheretheir person was.
It was very fun.

(12:39):
It was a really interestingphase one for sure, yeah, yeah,
absolutely.
And phase two o know, phase onefor sure, yeah, yeah absolutely
.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
And phase two.
So, yeah, here's where we kindof and I do want to say this
again iterate like all the propsto the Hunters Association for
putting this on.
I think you guys put together akiller, a killer event and I
think that would be a joy tocome back to again later.
But everything that we're goingto talk about now like even you

(13:08):
know some of the things that wethink could have been could
have been better I'm sureeverybody that organized that
was are thinking the same thingright now.
They've probably already got alist of things that they're like
yeah, we need to change thesethings to make this viable for,
you know, future, future events.
So yeah anything we say thatseems negative right now.

(13:31):
Um, this isn't us throwingshade at the hunters association
.
This is just us pointing out,for you know those of you who
couldn't make it to the eventwhat it was like.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
So yeah, I mean, we were there.
We have to be honest about it.
Yeah, you know, but yeah, it'sphase two.
Phase two kind of went off tothe side a little bit.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Phase two.
Phase two went a little bitwild and I think you and I are
probably going to have slightlydiffering opinions on what
should happen with phase two inthe future.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
I think so too.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
But so phase two, the capture the flag event.
First, there was still about300 people left that made it
through phase one, you know.
So to have 300 people playcapture the flag, that's not
really optimal.
They had to break it up intofour groups, so they did four
sessions of capture the flag.
Each session lasted 15 minutesand similar to the um arc in,

(14:25):
you know, in the real huntersexam in the show, the real
hunters exam in the hunters examin the show, similar to the arc
.
You know they they had tocapture the badges.
Their badge was worth threepoints and they needed four
points to exit the round.
So that was where they deviateda little bit, which I get for
time constraints.
You absolutely probably had todo it that way.
So if you kept your badge andall you had to do was collect

(14:53):
one other flag, you couldimmediately be out, like you
could run to the safe zone andbe out.
Obviously, if you lost yourflag, then you would have to
collect four additional flags, which good luck on that that's.
Yeah, good luck that was.
I don't think anybody managedthat, do you?

Speaker 2 (15:05):
no one.
No, I watched that.
I didn't see anyone withmultiple.
The most I saw was two.
Maybe there was someone, but Ididn't see anyone with multiple.
The most I saw was two, maybethere was someone, but I didn't
see anyone right.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
So, um, immediately when we get into phase the, the
first round of capture the flag.
You know they start the musicfrom hunter, hunter oh, wait,
wait, wait, before you jump intothat.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Yeah, we gotta, we gotta point out how long it took
to get to that part I because, okay, I was gonna go there later
, but yeah, for sure we have todo it because that's the start
affected it affected ourparticipation in the rest of the
event too.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
So jordan's right, um , you know, due to technical
difficulties and some otherthings, again first time event
probably not enough volunteers.
They probably needed about ahundred more volunteers than
what they had.
Yeah probably you know.
So that way you can stage, stage events and start getting
one thing ready as the other, you know, as phase one's going
on.

(15:57):
But yeah, so the time inbetween I think it was about an
hour and a half, Was it?
Was it about that long?
It was about an hour and a halfbetween finishing up phase one
and getting started for phasetwo.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
And the announcements were 20 minutes.
20 minutes, yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
The announcements were like hey guys, it'll be
another 20 minutes and I kind ofget it right there.
You hit a certain point and youcan't guess.
You can't guess how much timeit's going to be and you don't
want to say we have no idea whenthis thing's going to be ready,
please just stand by.
You kind of want to give peoplean approximate time limit.
I'm not even sure what theissue was.
I would imagine that they werehaving problems verifying that

(16:37):
the people that were left werethe people that actually.
You know the numbers that theyscanned.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
Well, scanning, yeah, it has to be the scanning yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
So that's gotta be it .
But there also could have beenother things, I'm not sure.
But there also could have beenother things, I'm not sure.
But there was a long period oftime, um, where everybody was
just kind of sitting around, which well you know, you know
what it could have been, youknow, I just realized.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
I just was thinking about it is remember, in the
beginning they're like, hey, ifyou haven't been scanned yet, we
really don't care, unless youpass the first level yeah, yeah
so maybe what it was.
If everyone would have beenscanned before the first phase,
second phase would have beenscan, scan, scan, done, but
they're probably scanning peopleand having to enter all their
information.
That could have been what itwas, for sure, maybe, and that's

(17:21):
where you know that leads meback to.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
They needed 100 more volunteers.
Yeah, absolutely, because Ithink they needed a hard
deadline.
You know, for this to work inthe future, I think you need a
hard deadline for thecompetitors to say you have to
be here by X time or you're out.
Yeah, that way they can haveeverybody signed in, scanned in,
and then the only before westart or you're checking in.
Are the spectators after?

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
So I think that is part of the problem, I agree.
So yeah, there was an hour anda half between phase one and the
start of phase two and whichspectator wise, you know we're
not in it, but it is time, youknow.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
But if you were a competitor, you were.
You were pointing it out thatday.
Like you're kind of now, yourmuscles are cooling off, you're
losing, your adrenaline'scrashing off.
You know, you just ran eightmiles or whatever you know.
So you know, yes, you probablyneed some rest, but maybe an
hour and a half might have beentoo long to kind of get out of
it.
A lot of people were stretchingand jogging in place trying to

(18:18):
like keep their heart rate going, if you, you know, I saw a lot
of that going on and stuff yeah,I saw a lot of like energy gel
and, um, you know, just quicksugar snacks to try to keep the
energy up.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Uh, yeah, which that's hard to do?
You know just quick sugarsnacks to try to keep the energy
up, yeah, which that's hard todo, you know, and it's hard to
stay warm in an hour and a halfbreak.
So for the competitor, not justthe spectators, but from the
competitor's point of view aswell, that's a that's too long
of a break, yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Maybe like half an hour Dive into like this fast
paced action.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
He run capture the flag stuff.
That was wild, that was wild, that was wild, super wild.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
so I dude they played the music, they got this thing
hyped up and it, freaking, wentnuts man and they learned real
quick what two rounds we had themusic.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
They played the music for two rounds in that second
round.
The first round was intense, the second round was super
intense and then I was like theygotta cut that music.
And uh, you know I'm saying itlike people are taking my advice
.
But no, they did cut the musicand I started laughing my ass
off because I was going into thethird round.
But you know no music and it'sit's not the right move for that

(19:20):
, you know?

Speaker 2 (19:21):
um, I mean as a spectator, I love the music, but
as a competitor it's just outof control.
Everyone is dialed a freaking100 at that point with the, the
no 110 with the music.
Like you're, you're ready to go?
Dude, right, and there was alot of, because they weren't
allowed to touch at all.
That was the thing they keptsaying do not push, do not hit
elbow, because I will, you willget kicked out.

(19:41):
And dude, you got grown.
Military dudes, yeah, runningat each other full sprint trying
to get these flags.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Man yeah, it adds to the adrenaline factor.
Um, the the music adds to thehype, it adds the adrenaline
factor and that's not somewherewhere you want the extra
adrenaline factor and I I knowthat our opinions are probably
going to differ on this, but Ithink, if you want this to
continue to be like a, a fun, safe event, or mostly safe event

(20:10):
, um you gotta you gotta get,you gotta get rid of the capture
the flag.
You gotta do something more likethink, like tough, mudder, like
obstacle course, like that, um,or something else.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
I don't think, yeah, I don't know, man so like the
way that for me, dude, for me I,I'm I disagree with you just
because as a spectator is it isreally a truly one-on-one thing,
although we did see teamshappening yeah which in one of
the rounds.
Survive if you didn't have ateam wait, but it was like eight
guys on the second.
You know there's a lot.
There's like 10 dudes orwhatever, and they were just

(20:44):
running through.
Now, my only thing about thisis and I guess it's again it's
crazy that teenagers got throughthe first part, to be honest.
But when you're in the secondpart and the only part I agree I
agree with you on you can't docapture the flag if you're gonna
have kids in there, dude, because we saw some.
It got a little crazy and therewere some mighty collisions bro

(21:07):
there were some collisions andif you were a grown dude and you
slam into a 15 year old likeconcussions nobody had pads like
this could have got reallysketchy and it did get really
sketchy dude that it did in themiddle of the field yeah, but at
least it wasn't a kid, it wastoo too grown dude, very true,
but even that girl, though Imean she, was getting dude I'll

(21:28):
talk about that bad.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
That could have been really bad.
Talk about that, by the way, because I had mad respect for
that girl and I, you know,obviously I didn't get a chance
to talk to her because I didn'tsee her again after that phase.
But like, yeah, dude, she wasbreaking dudes ankles out there,
but she was also gettingtargeted and like yeah, eight
guys running at her flag Likecome on now.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
Just some of them, yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Yeah, no, it was wild .
Energy was amped to 11.
Oh yeah, energy was amped to 11.
I don't know.
There was definitely, at leastthere were, multiple accidents,
but there was definitely the oneserious one where that dude
split his eye open in thatcollision.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Yeah, blood everywhere had to be rushed.
They did have a medical teamthere just in case, which was
very important.
Thank God they did that, but asa spectator, that probably was
the best visual part of a hunterexam.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Yeah, dude, I mean it's okay, so it's like football
, right.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
You want to see the collisions, but they're wearing
pads and helmets, and even withthe pads and helmets in football
, that's probably one of theworst sports for brain injuries.
So take away the pads and thehelmets and what do you got?
You got a bunch of amped up,non-trained people that are
running at each other and that'swhat's going to happen Somebody
is going to get hurt.
So yeah, like I think, as itcurrently stands, the capture

(22:47):
flag event has to go.
I enjoyed it.
Don't get me wrong.
I enjoyed the hell out ofwatching that.
It was fun, I had a blast.
It was great to watch you getto do the oohs and the ahhs with
the rest of the people.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
No fights, though there was no fights, which I was
very impressed with that.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
I was also impressed, but it was close a few times
yeah it got a little close a fewtimes.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
He's holding the flag .
He's holding the flag.
He's cheating, they're cheating.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
And not just that dude.
I mean dude.
People start colliding intoeach other and you're going to
get you get angry.
Yeah, and justifiably so.
You know you're amped Like it's.
Yeah, I don't know.
Again, this isn't shade at theorganization for the way they
put it together.
I just think they probablylearned that lesson as well,

(23:34):
like this event probably needsto change in its structure on
how they do it.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
We got lucky.
No one got really injured, though yeah.
I know there's waiver signed.
But that's not a good look ifsomebody breaks a bone or
concussion or something crazy,or some kid gets trampled on
because you know it was, intenseis the good word.
But here's the problem.
Right, it finishes up cool.
Hey, we're gonna start phasethree soon.

(24:00):
And you know another.
It just took too long, man, itwas 20 minutes, so it was
another 20 minutes 20 minutes.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
And then he said he said, hey, um, you guys should
probably go ahead and eat.
It's going to be at leastanother 20 minutes.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Yeah, and that's when .

Speaker 1 (24:16):
Jordan and I kind of.
So Jordan and I had a four anda half hour drive, so we had to
bow out at that point because welooked at the time limit for
when it was supposed to, forwhen it was supposed to end,
which was supposed to have been5 pm, and we could have done
that.
You know, we could have madethat drive 5 pm back, but we
both had obligations the nextday and you know we looked at
that time limit and we said isthere any point in staying

(24:39):
longer if we can't make it tothe end?
You know the answer to that wasno and it's unfortunate because
we were having a blast, I washaving a blast and yeah, it was
really fun man seeing.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Uh, yeah, and you know, everyone was really good
natured, though, like you know, they were cheering for people
and stuff.
Like it was a really good crowd.
That's probably the familyelement that you're saying.
Um, but it was, uh, you know,we had to drive back and then I
had like another hour and a half.
After that, too, I had to go tomy house.
So we're like, look, I'm notgonna get home till late if we
stay till.
We both knew it wasn't gonna befive, it's probably gonna be

(25:09):
like eight when it actuallyfinished, just because of it was
8 so yeah, so we were watching,we were checking in on it as we
drove and I think we found outit was yeah, it ended at 8
o'clock.
We would have not been hometill 2 am 7, 45 was when they
cut that stream bro dude.
Yeah, I really wanted to saythat, I really wanted to see the
end, but it just.

(25:30):
It's a long day, dude.
It's a long day and you knowthere's a couple food trucks,
you know some porter pottiesmiddle of the field.
You know it's just getting.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
It's just getting a little too much to to make it
back in time those were thethings that I actually thought
weren't going to be as wellorganized right.
I didn't think there was goingto be enough restroom facilities
and I didn't think there wasgoing to be enough restroom
facilities and I didn't thinkthere was going to be enough
food provided which they had it.
First of all, the competitorsbrought all their own food.
It seemed like every competitorhad a backpack full of food.
So they knew what was up, theyknew the deal, um, you know,

(26:03):
they knew the score and theywere prepared.
Kudos to every singlecompetitor out there, um, and it
didn't look like the lines forthe food trucks were very long
either.
So for the rest of the you knowthe families that I saw, it
looked like most of the familieshad also brought like picnic
blankets and their own food andstuff.
So the food trucks weren'tbacked up.
Good organizing, you know.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
Yeah, and good parking too.
Plenty of parking, which wasgreat, yeah, no absolutely.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
They had parking organized better, dude, they had
parking better organized thanDisney World organized better,
dude, they had parking better, better organized than disney
world.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Yeah, yeah it was.
It was smooth, it got right outof there.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
Yeah, no, problem very quick.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Getting in and out was not bad no, it was uh, it
was great and and it was uh.
I'll say I mean again, likewe've been saying there, we met
a guy, uh came up from floridato do a stunt.
Nico, you're the man, and hecame from Florida and you know
he did great.
He passed the first one andsecond.
I'm not sure if he got to the.

(26:59):
I don't know if he passed thethird or not.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
No, he didn't.
He didn't pass the third.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
He just got short of time.
I mean he, you know people arecoming from other states.
You know it wasn't just you, there's people probably from all
over the place.
So it's really cool to see thatpeople would come this far for
this.
You know, and the first timeyou know it's a risk.
Who knows what was going tohappen?

Speaker 1 (27:19):
you know yeah, I agree, um, overall.
Yeah, though it was good at ablast.
Hisuka was great.
I can't believe his face paintstayed on that long.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
You know what did he use?
Because that guy and he wasn't,he was in character.
He wasn't like talking thatmuch, although I did see him
talking to the going guy, whichis hilarious.
Um, how many guns.
Three, four.
You saw how many lorios onlyone of a dude.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
At least three, at least three lorios and one with
the briefcase that you know what?
Right there, let's back that upto phase one.
The guy that ran with thebriefcase the entire run legend,
legendary legend.
Yeah, no, that was that's beastmode stuff right beast mode man
.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
There was a lot of them, man.
There's a good amount.
I think there's more him thananyone else, to be honest, and
the goan did have the jacket.
Yeah, the one gone had thejacket, the others were just,
and the goan did have the jacket.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Yeah, the one goan had the jacket.
The others were just wearingthe white tank top with the
green shorts yeah, which isstill fine, I get it.
You don't.
You know you don't want them.
Yeah, you're running eightmiles, right, right, yeah,
exactly.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
And even even the guy with the jacket he took his
jacket off to make the run, butI yeah dude looked like going
like yeah, he had the hair andeverything right, yeah, he had
that nailed and there was a,although one of my favorites was
, uh, the, the wings guy dude,oh, yeah, did you ever figure
out where he was from?
dude.
No idea, this dude had giantsilver wings, like silver wings,

(28:44):
and then when he went to do theyou know he would wear him.
And then when he went to run heput on these little red wings
and the dude was, he made itthrough.
Uh, I know at least the twophases.
I don't know about the rest, but he definitely smoked the two
.
He did the flag.
In what 10 seconds?
He was out 10 or 15 seconds, yeah, dude he snapped someone's
thing, it was out of there.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
Yeah, he immediately went to the safe zone.
He was the second one.
That cowboy fellow was out inlike five seconds flat dude,
that man was a terminator.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
I saw him waiting for the buzzer it goes off and he
just sprinted and I don't knowif he had a lot targeted
somebody.
Oh, but, that dude dudesnatched that flag and was out,
and then even the uh volunteerpeople were like you know what?

Speaker 1 (29:29):
I couldn't believe it was out.
Yeah, he's like yeah, count ityeah, he was, he was.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
Uh, if he passed the whole thing, I would not be
surprised.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
No, neither would I.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Yeah, absolutely.
But yeah, we didn't see thelast few phases there and we've
been, you know, hawking on theirInstagram or on their social
media, trying to see who got thecool hunter license that's out
there, but so far we haven'tseen it yet.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Yeah, I haven't seen it yet.
Yeah, I haven't seen it yet,but if I find out, I will
definitely post it up yeah, wehave.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
I mean, they have to announce it right.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
I would imagine that it's a huge deal the competitors
would announce it.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Yeah, we're gonna have to do a deep dive this week
and see if someone posted avideo or something you know,
maybe that'll be in realm rumorsnext, next week.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
We'll see.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Well, yeah, at some point we'll update as soon as we
get something to talk about, although I will say there were
some competitors talking on ouruh tiktok there, so that's
pretty cool, yeah, yeah, thatthey found it.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
He was like hey, that was me at 105, I got, yeah,
yeah, I got cut I made it, butafter two.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
But yeah yeah, it was fun, guys.
I mean, check out our videosand stuff because it's cool and
you know we'll probably post afew more.
We may have a bunch of videosthat we're able to take.
Yeah, of the fun of the runningand the flight.
Dude, the flight was crazy.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
Yeah, the capture of the flight was nuts.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
It was really fun, for sure.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
Fun as a spectator, but for longevity of the event.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Probably needs to morph into something else yeah,
I mean, I wish, yeah, I kind ofwish you would have saw maybe
the live stream of the last fewphases to see how it played out.
You know, if there was any dude,we couldn't get any service on
the way back dude nothingdriving through uh country yeah,
yeah yeah guys, amazing eventand super happy we're able to go

(31:09):
and check it out and video itand just see.
You know, know, the first everof that, you know.
Hopefully there's many more andone day we'll go to the tuning
one right In Japan.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
Oh dude.
Yeah, I think it said it was inJapan.
You know the real life tuningexams we got to.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Dude, that would be.
The dream is to go see that.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
We would stand out like crazy, but it'd be worth it
.
Yeah, all right.
Well, we uh.
Even though we're doing a bonusepisode, I still say we got to
do a hot take so are you readyfor this?

Speaker 2 (31:40):
yeah, yeah, go ahead.
What is it?

Speaker 1 (31:41):
who would be the worst character?

Speaker 2 (31:43):
to take the real life example, oh, well, I, I, I'm
old, uh old clown boy over there.
His soak would be the worst, dude.
You're either gonna getmurdered, you're gonna get taken
in the woods, and who knowswhat's gonna happen to you, dude
, he is going to destroyeveryone around him in that, and
if you are a poor soul who hadto go with him and try to pass

(32:06):
it when he was doing it, youain't making it out, dude.
You give him a weird.
Look.
Good old bubble gum, go andtake your head off, it's a wrap
I don't agree I would what'syours pick.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
I would pick hisoka to compete with.
If that, if that question werethe opposite, I'd be like I want
hisoka yeah, that's who's yoursimmediately, leorio bro why?

Speaker 2 (32:29):
why would you say this?

Speaker 1 (32:30):
and I love the.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
I love.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
Leorio as a character , but in that real life exam
Leorio ain't hacking that.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
Yeah, how did he get through it, dude?
I don't even go.
Good friends, the power offriendship.
The power of friendship, because, yeah, homeboy didn't do
much, did he?

Speaker 1 (32:47):
No, no, I just yeah the real life Hunter's exam.
He wouldn't have made it pastthe phase two, that's for sure.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, he would have been done in the
phase two for sure, yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
At least with Hisoka going up against him or, you
know, taking the exam with him.
You know you got the chance toteam up.
Maybe, but it doesn't matter,it's still a chance.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
True.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
True, true, true chance.
True, true, you have a slimchance to get through it.
He still didn't have a problemwith anybody, really, except the
the idiots that were trying totrack him down in the swamp bad
move yeah, stupid move don't dostupid, move what do?
You don't call attention toyourself, you moron yeah and
yeah talk.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Wait.
Side note how many, uh, big oldspiders did we see on people's
backs out there?
That?

Speaker 1 (33:33):
was quite a few.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
That was they had a lot of uh shirts and dude I I
you didn't see it, but there wasa dude with it was a legitimate
tat of it yes, you tried topoint it out and I immediately
looked and I'm like where, dude,I want to see this dude his
whole back, like literally hisentire back awesome.
Yeah that was, that was epic.
I don't know how far he made it, I hope.
I hope he won with that.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
Now dude, after the phase two, I was going for the
cowboy guy and yeah, friendfriend Nico the stuntman.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
Yeah, yeah, dude Stuntman, I wish he would have
got it.
Yeah, he'll probably go back.
He'll go back.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
That's what he said in his post he was like we'll be
back next year.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
He's, but he's gonna you know when we were talking to
him I, you know.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
We asked he's like hey, did you do any training?
And he's like no, not reallyoutside any of the training I
already do for the job.
And then that's where we werelike what do you do your job?
He's like I'm a stuntman yeah,you're like all right.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
Yeah, you're fine, you're gonna be all right,
you're gonna pass this.
We have to ask him whathappened on that last other
phase.
I want to hear his side of that, see what he?
Says so.
So what thursday we're back toregular scheduled program, huh
yeah, thursday's back toregularly scheduled programming.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Um, wow, that sounded lame.
Yeah, so no, we'll be.
Thursday will be stilllaunching our evolution of
superhero fantasy and the animeoverlap episode oh, that was a
good one that was really kind ofwordy.
I'm pretty sure I'll have adifferent title by the time that
actually comes out do?
