Hey y’all—it’s Varsey. In this episode of Recorded Vulnerabilities, I get real about one of the most anxious relationships in my life: my relationship with consistency.
We always hear that success is rooted in doing the same things every day, no matter what. But what if you’re not built like that? What if your life, your body, your brain, and your values demand a different rhythm? This episode is for the folks trying to build new habits, change their routines, and hold themselves accountable, without being cruel to themselves in the process. I reflect on what it means to be consistent with compassion, and why “alignment over time” might be the most honest definition of discipline I’ve ever embraced.
Reflection Prompts & Exercises:
Where in your life are you telling yourself you need to be more consistent?
Is that pressure coming from your true self, or external expectations?
On a scale from 1–10, how close are you to your version of consistency?
What would an “8” look like for you right now? Would that actually be enough?
What barriers are getting in the way of that consistent version of yourself?
Are those barriers real or rooted in comparison/perfectionism?
Where are you already showing up for yourself consistently, even if no one sees it?
Celebrate those silent wins!
Where can you flow instead of force?
What would it feel like to invite more grace into your routines?
BONUS: Write out a list of “Gold Star” moments/tiny actions you’ve taken to show up for yourself lately, even if it didn’t look like full effort or daily discipline.
