Many programs are fads, but the underlying reality is that we must either move or die. The body requires a certain amount of activity to keep the cardiovascular and respiratory systems working properly. Muscles obviously need to be flexed, stretched, and rested. But the bones also are designed to bear weight. If they don't, they will de-calcify quickly. Without healthy blood, every other organ will begin to fail. Even former athletes will deteriorate and die of diseases typical of a sedentary lifestyle unless there is some form of regular physical activity.
