Red Light Exposé

Red Light Exposé

Red Light Exposé is an international grassroots survivor-led circle seeking to combat “sex work” ideology. We aim to raise awareness of the harms of commercializing sex, and the industries (prostitution, porn, stripping, BDSM/kink) that exploit socioeconomically marginalized people, particularly women and girls. We support the adoption of Equality Model legislation worldwide while calling for an improvement in social security. Through honest, in-depth conversations we aim to elevate voices that are often ignored and silenced, moving us toward healthier and safer societies for all people.

From 2014 to 2020, Leeds City Council and West Yorkshire police designated parts of Holbeck, one of the UK's most deprived inner-city areas, as a site for an experiment with legal street prostitution. The policy permitted men to cruise the area for vulnerable women struggling with addiction and pay to sexually abuse them with impunity. What followed was an extreme drop in the quality of life of local residents, as well as continued...
