Speaker 1 (00:14):
Greetings,
salutations and welcome to the
Redeeming Love Bible broadcast.
My name is Phil Duddy, evangelist with Grace Baptist
Tabernacle of King, northCarolina.
Thankful to have you with me onthe program today.
Reach out to us atredeemingthelost at icloudcom.
We look forward to hearing fromyou there the fact that Jesus
(00:35):
is alive.
That's what we're going to betalking about today.
He is alive and this is a very, very, very practical reality,
because God is who he is.
He's alive and he's living.
And the thing about him is he'snot some distant, far away God,
(00:57):
and he's not just merely anencouraging thought.
He's a living God.
He's active, he moves insituations, he moves in his
creation and he's moving in yourlife today, right this moment,
and he has been moving in yourlife leading up to this moment.
(01:19):
And after this moment is done, god is still going to be moving
in your life.
Whether you believe him or not, whether you're born again or
not, whether you're a member ofa church or not, whether you
love God or whether you hate God, the reality is he is alive,
(01:40):
he's alive, he's alive, he'salive, he's alive.
And he's not just alive hespeaks.
He doesn't just speak, he moves.
And as he speaks and as hemoves and as he lives.
He is king of all kings and heis lord of all lords.
What the Lord does has effects.
What the Lord does cannot bestopped, and this is a practical
(02:08):
reality.
This changes every situationthat you're in.
This changes every situationthat you have gone through.
This changes every situationthat you ever will go through,
because the Lord is who he isand he's alive and he's risen.
And whatever your situation istoday, as you're listening to
(02:31):
this, jesus is.
Whatever your situation istoday, jesus has a word to you
and for you that is personal anddirected to you, because, glory
and amen, hallelujah, he isalive and he is Lord and he is
(02:53):
holy and he is love and he ismerciful and he is gracious and
he is faithful and he is trueand he is true and he is justice
and he is judgment and he'swonderful counselor, mighty God.
He's the Lamb of God, he's thegood shepherd, he's your king,
(03:17):
he's your Lord and he's thelover of your soul.
And so he's alive, he's well,he's speaking, he's moving and
he knows you.
My friend, this God, he knowsyou better than you know
yourself.
He knows you, he knows yourmind, he knows your heart, he
knows your will.
(03:38):
He knows what's going on inyour body.
He knows what's going on inyour family.
He knows what's going on inyour workplace.
He knows what's going on inyour family.
He knows what's going on inyour workplace.
He knows what's going on inyour city, in your town, in your
nation and in your church.
He knows what's going on inyour household.
He knows what's going on in you.
He knows what's going on andthe fact is he is speaking and
(03:59):
he is moving, and he's doing allthis as the Lord.
He's not doing this sort offrom far away.
He's not doing this wheneveryou remember him, whenever you
think about him.
No, he's doing this all thetime because he is Lord.
(04:20):
And that changes the reality, that changes the circumstance,
that changes the situation.
Because you bring the reality, the truth that Jesus is alive,
into your situation.
Bring Jesus into your heart, bring Jesus into your mind,
bring Jesus into your family, bring Jesus into what's going on
(04:44):
with your friends, bring Jesusinto whatever's going on with
your friends, bring Jesus intowhatever's going on in your
finances.
My friend, he has a word foreverything.
He has a promise for you today, and that's true whether you're
saved, whether you're born again, whether you're washed in the
blood, whether you'respirit-filled, whether you're
(05:05):
rejoicing in Jesus today orthat's true, whether you're
listening to this and you're notborn again.
You're listening to this andyou're separate from him.
You're listening to this andyou're even against him.
He has a word for you and toyou.
For you and to you, in whateversituation you're in, and that's
(05:30):
what I'm trying to get acrosstoday.
This is practical, my friend, because bring Jesus into your
finances.
How easy is it humanly to getconcerned?
How easy is it humanly to getnervous?
How easy is it humanly to getfrustrated?
How easily is it humanly tobecome fearful?
How easy is it humanly to justsay you're never going to trust
(05:54):
anybody again?
How easy is it humanly to gothere?
But bring Jesus into that.
Bring Jesus into that, bringJesus into a marriage situation.
Bring Jesus into a relationshipbetween you and your kids.
(06:14):
Bring Jesus into therelationship between you and
somebody who can't stand you andhates you and says all these
horrible things about you.
Bring Jesus into that and watchit change, watch it change,
watch Jesus change you and watchJesus move in that situation
(06:39):
Because, my friend, he moves asLord, he moves as King, he moves
as love, he moves as a greathigh priest.
All these things describe who heis and he's given this, you
know, in his word to us, todescribe to us exactly who he is
, because he wants you to knowwho he is, because he knows you
(07:02):
and he loves you.
He wants you to know who he is.
He wants you to know what thetruth is.
He wants you to know whatholiness is.
He wants you to know what'sreally good.
He wants you to know what'sreally just.
He wants you to know what'sreally right.
He wants you to know what realjoy is, what real peace is, what
(07:23):
real hope is, what faithfulnessis.
Now he wants to display hisglory in you and through you and
he wants that relationship, hewants that fellowship with you.
He wants that rightrelationship, the way he made it
(07:43):
to be before sin entered intothe picture, way back in the
Garden of Eden.
He wants that relationshiprestored in you and he wants you
to be walking in the fullnessof joy, in a fullness of life,
in a fullness of abundance, in afruitfulness, in an abundance
(08:05):
of peace, an abundance of realliving hope, an abundance of the
truth, an abundance of wisdom.
He wants that in you andthrough you, my friend, it
doesn't come out of you, itcomes from him.
It comes from him.
Every good thing, every perfectgift, it comes from him, and
(08:27):
hallelujah and amen.
It's by grace and through faith, my friend.
These things are added to you, these things are applied to you.
These things you know.
We're born again.
We're saved from the wrath ofGod.
Our sin, the blood of Jesusgets applied to us and our sin
is washed away.
How does that happen?
(08:48):
It's by grace and through faith.
How do you grow in the fullstature of Christ, how do you
mature in Christ?
By faith.
We follow him.
We walk with him.
We obey him by faith.
We love him, and so we followhim.
We walk with him.
We obey him by faith.
We love him, and so we followhim.
We love him, and so we believehim.
(09:09):
We love him, and so we love ourneighbors.
We love him, and so we havecharity in all things.
We love him, and so we love thetruth.
We love him, and so we lovejustice.
We love him, and so we lovejudgment and equity.
We love mercy.
We love grace.
We love him.
And so, out of this loverelationship, the Lord starts
(09:33):
changing us.
The Lord starts growing us, theLord starts maturing us and we
walk as he walked.
We walk with him.
We walk as the light of thisworld, but it's not our light.
We walk as the salt of theearth, but it's not our salt.
We walk in him and we walkthrough him and he starts moving
(09:53):
in us and through us.
So, my friend, this alive, thisGod who is alive, this living
God, the fact that he's alivechanges everything.
And, my friend, we got to cometo the book of Revelation in
this, come to the book ofRevelation, chapter one, and
we're going to be in verse 10.
And this is the apostle John iswriting, and he's writing
(10:19):
something that the Lord gave himto write.
And so listen to this.
He says I was in the spirit onthe Lord's day and heard behind
me a great voice, as of atrumpet.
Now, glory and hallelujah andamen, the Lord is alive and the
Lord is speaking.
(10:40):
And the Lord speaks with agreat voice, a voice that could
not be put aside, a voice thatcould not be explained away, a
voice that could not be ignored,a voice that would not be
ignored, a voice that got yourattention.
It was as of a trumpet, and thetrumpet was used to make
(11:00):
announcements that affected awhole lot of people.
They were announcements ofgreat public interest, and the
Lord is saying to all the worldI am alive, I'm alive, I'm alive
forevermore.
He's saying to all of this worldand at the same time, he's
saying it to the world, he'ssaying it to you I am alive, no
(11:24):
matter what situation you're in.
I am alive and I speak and Imove.
I am alive.
To my church, to my belovedbride I am alive.
To my beloved bride, I am alive.
I am your husbandman and I amalive.
(11:45):
I'm the lover of your soul andI'm alive.
I'm the one who brought thechurch into existence, and I'm
alive.
I'm the one who maintains thechurch.
I'm the one who takes care ofthe church, I'm the head of the
church, and I am alive.
Not only am I alive, I ameffectual in all that I do, all
(12:09):
that I say, all that I speak.
It has an effect.
I am alive, no matter what yourpain is today, I'm alive.
No matter what your hurt is,I'm alive.
No matter what your distractionis, I'm alive.
No matter what your hang-up is,I'm alive.
(12:31):
Jesus is alive and he's speaking.
What is he saying to you?
You know, blessed be the nameof the Lord.
He says I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last.
I am the same yesterday, todayand forever.
The same Jesus who is speakingto John here, the same Spirit
you know, john was in the Spiriton the Lord's day that same
(12:53):
Holy Spirit's alive, the sameFather, the same Father who gave
his only begotten songenerations ago.
He's alive and he wants you toknow it.
Not only know it, but believehim.
Not only believe him but trusthim.
(13:14):
Have faith in him.
Hallelujah and amen, becausehe's the same yesterday, today
and forever.
He's Alpha and Omega, the firstand the last.
And he tells John, he says whatyou see, write in a book and
send it unto the seven churcheswhich are in Asia, and he lists
(13:35):
off all those churches.
He had a word for John here, and glory amen.
John followed through with hisword and so, bless God, we have
the precious book of Revelationtoday.
What is his word to you?
Verse 12,.
John turned, he said.
I turned to see the voice thatspake with me.
(13:57):
John turned to see him.
John turns to see him.
You know, it's implied here.
This happened behind him andJohn had to turn around and John
beheld the Lord that day.
He beheld the risen Lord thatday.
(14:19):
He said, in the midst of theseven candlesticks, one like
unto the Son of man, clothedwith a garment down to the foot,
and he describes him, hedescribes him, he describes him
and every part of thisdescription is part of who Jesus
is.
But the point for today, myfriend, the point for you and me
today, john turns to behold him.
Will you hear and will you turntoday, right in this very
(14:45):
moment, whatever your situationis?
Again, you know, whatever yourpain is, whatever your hurt is,
whatever your trouble is in thisworld, will you turn to the
Lord, will you hear and receivewhat the Lord has to say about
it and in hearing what he saysabout it, receive him, because
(15:14):
the Lord speaks and the Lordgives his word and the word
exists and the word is here andthe word is perfect and the word
is complete.
And the Word is here and theWord is perfect and the Word is
complete, and the Lord honorsHis Word.
At the same time, he's lookingfor you to love Him, not just
what he says, not just what hedoes, not just what he can do,
(15:37):
not just what he has done andnot just what he will do.
Don't just love his things, don't just love his stuff, don't
just love his promises, butlove the Lord, God himself, the
one who brought Israel out ofEgypt, the one who raised up all
(16:04):
the prophets, the one who gavehis only begotten son, the one
who went to the cross, the onewho shed his blood so that you
and I could be forgiven, so thatyou and I could be made whole,
so that you and I could be withhim where he is.
The one who is coming again, the one who is returning.
Love him, and not just whathe's done.
(16:33):
Know what he's done, appreciatewhat he's done, treasure what
he's done, be thankful for whathe's done, worship him for what
he has done.
But don't stop there, my friend.
Let all of that lead you to himand love him.
(16:53):
So, my friend, will you turntoday?
Will you turn to the Lord Jesus?
And I know that folks who arelistening to this, some folks,
might be in a tremendous amountof trouble, a tremendous amount
of pain, a tremendous amount ofhard circumstances.
But, my friend, you know, I cantestify the Lord's yoke is easy
(17:17):
and the Lord's burden is light, and he doesn't want you to bear
that situation alone.
He doesn't want you to bearthat weight alone.
He doesn't want you to bearlife alone, even when life is
easy.
He doesn't want you to bearthat weight alone.
He doesn't want you to bearlife alone, even when life is
easy.
He doesn't want you to bear italone.
My friend, but turn to him, callupon him, cast your cares upon
(17:42):
him, because he cares for you,he invites you.
Because he cares for you.
He invites you, he evencommands you.
Cast your cares upon him.
I don't want you to be crushedunder the burden of this world.
I don't want you to be crushedunder that burden.
(18:06):
And so cast it to me andbelieve what I say.
Walk in my peace, walk in mystrength, walk in my victory.
Because I overcame this worldand because I overcame this
world, every man, woman andchild who is in me, every man,
woman and child who's born again, every man, woman and child
(18:26):
who's born again, every man, woman and child who's got my
Holy Spirit, who's washed in myblood.
You've overcome the world too, because I did it first.
And you're alive, because I'malive.
And I didn't design you, Ididn't make you, I didn't form
(18:48):
you to be alone.
I gave you brothers and sistersin the church and I gave you
myself.
So turn to him, my friend, castyour cares upon him.
And, my friend, if you need tobe born again, if you're yet in
your sins, my friend, what a day, what a time, what a moment to
(19:11):
call upon the name of the Lord.
His salvation is by grace andthrough faith.
It's not through any magicalwords that you say, it's not
through any amount of money thatyou give.
It's not through going andparticipating in services or
rituals or anything like that.
It's by simple grace and bysimple faith in Jesus, because
(19:35):
he's alive and well today.
But he also died.
He died in your place.
He shed his blood in your place.
There was a time, there was amoment in history, where Jesus
went to a cross and on thatcross, the Lord took all of your
sin upon himself because hisfather laid it on him.
(19:59):
The father laid the sin of theworld and that includes yours on
the son world and that includesyours on the sun, and Jesus
bled and Jesus died.
So all of your lusts, all ofyour fornications, all of your
adulteries, all of your, youknow that murderous anger, all
(20:26):
of that ungodly fear, all ofthat unbelief, all of the
blasphemy.
All of you know any expressionof sin you could imagine, any
expression of sin that ever cameout of you, my friend.
It got laid on Jesus and hedied a death, and he did it in
your place.
He died the death that shouldbe yours in the eyes of God, and
(20:48):
now today, as you've heard somany times today in this message
, he's alive.
What's that mean for you, myfriends?
That death is applied to you.
If you trust Jesus by grace andthrough faith, his death is
(21:08):
applied to you.
The blood he shed is applied toyou.
And so God is faithful and justto forgive you.
God forgives you as you trustJesus.
He forgives you and he makesyou whole.
And hallelujah and amen, myfriends, trust him today, put
(21:32):
your faith in him today.
Ask him to be born again, askhim to be saved, ask him to wash
all of your sin away.
Hallelujah and amen.
He's already made the provisionfor you.
There's nothing more that youhave to give.
There's no other work that youhave to do.
Believe on him, my friend,Trust him, call upon him today.
(21:56):
Let that faith that's in yourise up into some words and talk
to him just as though he'ssitting right across the table
from you or sitting right nextto you.
My friend, he's alive and ifyou're honest, if you call on
him honestly, with an honestfaith, he'll never turn you away
.
And so, my friend, call uponthe name of the Lord Church.
(22:19):
I pray that this has been areal encouragement to you, the
fact that he is alive, because,my friend, we walked through
some troubles in this world.
The Lord told us that in thisworld you will have trouble, and
the good news is he's overcomethe world and every moment of
every trouble he walks throughit with you.
(22:40):
He leads you on.
So follow him today, trust himtoday and watch the Lord be
glorified in your life today.
