Glad to have each and everysingle one of you with me,
thankful to the Lord that youare here on this broadcast,

(00:36):
We would love to hear from you.
I want to take a moment at thetop of the program here to
welcome Trinidad, sweden, saudiArabia and Israel.
I am very, very, very thankfulto the Lord that you are joining
us on the program today.
It always amazes me to thinkback on this program, because

(01:00):
the whole way that it startedwas absolutely of the Lord.
It's simple, it was clear.
I was walking in the littlecity of King it's about 7,000
people and it was this really, really beautiful spring evening

(01:20):
in the month of May and this wasseveral years back now in the
month of May, and this wasseveral years back now and
looking for someone to shareJesus with, looking for someone
to witness to.
I'm out there, walking thestreets, looking for folks to
talk, to share the Word of Godwith, and beautiful spring night

(01:44):
evening, sun hadn't quite gonedown yet and there is not a
single person on the sidewalk orwalking the street or even on
the front porches you know, I'vewitnessed people on their front
porches before but there's nota single person out.
And I'm asking the Lord well, how do I get behind those closed

(02:08):
doors?
How do I, you know, do?
And he said go ahead and startthe broadcast, start a podcast.
That's a little bit differentfrom traditional podcasts, but
you know you can call it that ifyou want, but go ahead and
start broadcasting.
And that's where it started.
The first ones were recorded ina tiny little office and then

(02:32):
from there moved into actuallyone of the bedrooms in our house
.
About a third of that bedroomhad this little tiny computer
and a monitor that flickered anda microphone.
That wasn't so great and westarted it and folks started to
listen in America.
We started to see some folkspop up in.

(02:54):
You know cities.
You know Michigan andCalifornia, you know the
Southwest area of the country, afew in North Carolina and the
first international nation, thefirst international listeners we
had that we saw on our end, were the Philippines.
And now it's grown to almost 60nations outside of America and

(03:20):
we're thrilled and amazed andthankful in the Lord to see it
grow, and thankful to each andevery single one of you out
there who listen and who supportthe program and who share this
program in your cities and inyour nations and in your

(03:40):
cultures.
We are thankful and we continueto pray for you.
Let us know how we can pray foryou particularly and
specifically.
Just reach out to us, send usan email and, yeah,
redeemingthelostedicloudcom isthe address.
That's the best, quickest wayto reach us here and we look

(04:02):
forward to hearing from you.
Now, today, as we turn to thescriptures, we are going to be
in the book of Matthew, chapter9, verse 9.
And let me just go ahead andread it Just Matthew 9, 9,
matthew, chapter 9, verse 9.
And this is what the Word ofGod tells us.
And as Jesus passed forth fromthence, he saw a man named

(04:27):
Matthew sitting at the receiptof custom and he saith unto him
follow me.
And he arose and followed him.
And this is powerfully simpleand it's amazing and profound on
a number of levels.
And what do we see here?

(04:50):
We see a man named Matthew andMatthew is sitting at the
receipt of custom.
He's a publican, he's a taxcollector and he's going about
his business and he's goingabout his day and he's going
about his time and Matthew issimply at this moment.

(05:11):
You know, right when Jesuswalks up to him, matthew is just
being Matthew, he's beingMatthew, he's not doing anything
different, he's not doinganything outside of the norm for
Matthew.
And then we have Jesus, youknow, passing, you know, through

(05:32):
that area and he sees Matthewand he sees Matthew sitting in
his booth and he goes up toMatthew.
And I want you to noticesomething Matthew was just being
Matthew.
Jesus is the one who initiatedthis, jesus is the one who went

(05:52):
up to Matthew.
Jesus is the one who spoke toMatthew and Jesus had two words.
You know, we translate it intoEnglish and it says follow me.
Jesus says follow me, jesussays follow me and hallelujah.
That's a miracle, my friend.
Humanly speaking, that is amiracle in itself To have the

(06:17):
Lord interrupt you, to have theLord come into you know, your
situation, come into your life.
You're just going about yourday, you're just being yourself,
because you can't really beanyone else.
You're just being yourself andyou're doing what you do and
going about whatever it isyou're doing, and to have the

(06:43):
Lord.
Come into that and get a wordto you directly from him.
To get a word to you from him,my friend.
That's how salvation begins.
That is how salvation beginsbecause, humanly, we go about in
our sin.
We, you know, humanly, apartfrom Jesus, apart from the Lord,

(07:06):
apart from being born againbefore you are born again,
before a person, a man, a womanor a child is born again, before
that, all we have is our sin.
All we have is our own ideasabout what is good and what is

(07:27):
bad, what is good and what iswicked, what is good and what is
evil.
We have our own judgments onthat and that's.
Apart from the Lord, all wehave is the lust of the flesh
and the lust of the eyes and thepride of life.
That's all that we have Beforebeing born again.
We are lost and in the truestlust of the eyes and the pride
of life, that's all that we haveBefore being born again.

(07:53):
We are lost In the truest senseof the word.
We are lost.
We are alienated from God.
We are far away from God.
We are far away from Adam andEve before the fall, when there
was no sin hindering thatrelationship.
There was no sin hinderingAdam's relationship with Eve,
eve's relationship with Adam.
No sin between Adam Eve and God.

(08:13):
And there's just living in God,there's just walking and
talking with him, there's just, you know, hearing him and loving
him and being loved by him andreceiving what he gives,
receiving his provision, receiving his word, and there's
no sin in between that.
And that's why we say you know, people apart from the Lord,

(08:36):
people who are not born again, people who are yet in their sins
, that's lostness.
That's lostness because you'realienated from God.
You're alienated from theFather and the Son and the Holy
Ghost.
You're alienated from holiness, you're far away from them.

(09:00):
And so what does the Lord do?
What has the Lord done and whatdoes he do today?
We've got a picture of it herein Matthew.
Matthew is a tax collector.
Tax collectors were not knownfor being honest.
Some of them were known forbeing violent.
They were known for theft.
They were known for extortion.

(09:21):
They were known for cruelty, for cruelty.
And yet we have Jesus going upto a man who is in his sin.
Matthew is sitting behind atable, he's sitting in a booth

(09:44):
and Jesus goes up to him.
Matthew doesn't go up to Jesus.
No, jesus goes up to him.
And my friend, that is what theLord does today.
And he does that through thechurch, as we who are born again
, blood-washed, spirit-filled,jesus-loving people,
jesus-preaching people, wepreach the Word of God and all

(10:05):
of a sudden that person's notinteracting with us per se, but
the Lord starts to move in thatinteraction and the Lord starts
to draw people to salvation.
And he draws people tosalvation who need to be saved,
and we've always got to keepthat in sight.

(10:26):
And we've always got to keepthat in sight.
The Lord draws people tosalvation because people need to
be saved.
You know, if you go down alittle bit further in this
interaction, go down to verse 13.
Part of what Jesus says.
He says I am not come to callthe righteous but sinners to

(10:47):
repentance.
This is what the Lord does.
The Lord interrupts the life ofa sinner.
He interrupts the life of aliar.
He interrupts the life of athief.
He interrupts the life of afornicator, an adulterer, an
adulteress, a whoremonger, awhore.
He interrupts that.

(11:07):
He interrupts, you know, someone who's into drunkenness,
who's into idolatry, who'sblaspheming.
You know who's even cursing hisname, and the Lord interrupts
that.
The Lord, in a sense, and we'vegot a human picture of it.
You know Jesus is in the flesh.

(11:27):
You know he's on his way to thecross and he humanly goes up to
Matthew and he humanly speaksto Matthew.
Now that interaction happenstoday.
It happens in the spirit, wedon't.
You know Jesus is seated at theright-handed father and Jesus
is coming again.
And yet, humanly, jesus didn'tcome up to me.

(11:50):
No, there was a man preaching amessage and the Lord, through
that message, spoke to me in away that I could not shake off
anymore.
And maybe he's doing that asyou're listening to this
broadcast.
He's going.
He's saying you know, I knowabout the sin.
I am holy, I am good, I am just,I am love and I love you.

(12:12):
I know about your sin, I loveyou and I want to save you.
I don't want to see you in hell.
I don't want to to to you know,um, to see you spend a moment
in hell.
I don't want to see you spend amoment with my wrath being
poured out on you.
But I love you.

(12:33):
You are in your sin right now.
I love you.
I went to a cross for you, Idied for you.
I became your sin, I bore yourwrath.
I took hell in your place.
I died the death that youshould die, and I'm risen again
and I'm here telling you.

(12:55):
I want you to be with me.
I want you to be under my grace.
I want you to be forgiven.
I want you to be healed.
I want you to be born again.
I want you to be out of yoursin.
I want you to be inrelationship with me.
I want to make you new.
I want to walk with you, talkwith you, lead you, be your Lord
, be your King, be your Savior, and I want you to be saved.

(13:21):
I want you to be born again andI want you to be forgiven.
I want you to be with me.
Are you going to come?
Are you going to believe me?
Are you going to come?
Are you going to believe me?
Are you going to believe on me?
Are you going to call upon me?
Are you going to call upon me?
And if you want that today, ifJesus is showing you that and

(13:41):
you want that today, call uponhis name.
Call upon his name.
Ask Jesus to be saved.
Ask Jesus to be born again.
Let that need and that desireand that yes, lord, in your
heart come out into some wordsto him.
Call upon the name of the Lord.
That's what we, you know, andthat's a glorious thing, my

(14:09):
friend.
And what we see in Matthew.
We see someone.
Jesus says follow me, andMatthew arose.
He arose and followed him.
Matthew was not only willing tolisten, but Matthew believed,
and that belief led to someaction, in a major way.

(14:30):
Matthew just walked away fromcollecting taxes and he joined
with Jesus and he followed himas a disciple.
And folks, you know, when Jesusspeaks, folks either follow him
or walk away from him.
People either follow him orresist him.

(14:53):
People either follow him orargue with him.
People, you know, there's oneor the other, but it's in a way,
you know, being willing to sitdown and listen is really only a
starting place.
It's amazing and it's good andit's awesome.

(15:15):
And yet, when Jesus sayssomething, it's not about just
hearing it with our ears.
It's not about just hearing itwith the ears, but what goes on
in the heart, what goes on inthe will, what goes on in you
personally when Jesus speaks toyou, is it an excited and an

(15:35):
amen and a glory and ahallelujah and a yes, lord, and
a let's go, lead on, lord, andlead me.
And we're following and we'reacting and we're moving, and
humanly that's, you know, inmany, many cases certainly in my
case it did but it requiresmajor human changes.

(15:58):
It might require you movingfrom one place to another.
It might require you going fromone job to another.
It might require you know somemajor require you going from one
job to another.
It might require you know somemajor major changes in your home
, in your family.
You know, in just day-to-daylife, but if Jesus is calling
you, you know, you're believingand you're hearing and you're

(16:18):
excited and you're following.
Is that what goes on in you?
Or is there this argument andresistance and, you know, maybe
even a frustration or thisungodly fear comes up.
What goes on in you when Jesusspeaks?
What goes on with you when youinteract with him and hear from
him?
And may it be following, may itbe believing, may it be that

(16:45):
you know the Lord wants that andI want that for you, amen.
And if it's not, you need to seethat and see it in love and
know that the Lord loves you andthe Lord is speaking to you and
he is King of kings and he'sLord of lords.

(17:07):
He is the highest authoritythere is.
There's none equal to him andcertainly none higher than him,
not in heaven or in earth orbelow the earth or anything like
that, but Jesus is Jesus, theFather is the Father, the Spirit
is the Spirit, the Lord is theLord and he's the highest

(17:28):
authority that there is and, inaddition to that sort of you
know, all rolled into that, ifyou will he is love, he speaks
in authority and he is love andhe is holy and he is good and he

(17:52):
is pure and he's just and he'sprecious and he's wonderful
counselor.
Mighty God, he's Prince ofPeace, he's Lord.
Mighty God, he's Prince ofPeace, he's Lord of Lords, he's
Everlasting Father.
And this is the Lord who'sspeaking to you.
This is the Lord who's speakingto you and he's good and he's

(18:20):
faithful to every promise thathe ever has made and every
promise that we have in thisword of God.
That is not.
It's still in the process ofcoming to pass, but we haven't
seen the fulfillment of it yet.
You know, even our salvation isthat way.
We have been saved and we aresaved, and yet scripture says we

(18:43):
are going to be saved and wedon't yet have a new body.
We don't yet see Jesus face toface.
We haven't sat down at themarriage supper of the lamb yet,
but, my friend, it's coming.
My friend, you know the Lord isbringing it to pass.
He's bringing it to pass in ourday and he's bringing it to its

(19:05):
fullness.
You know, from our perspectiveit's in the future and this is
the God who's talking to you.
He's not an idol, he's not deafand he's not mute.
You know he's not impotent,he's not mute, you know he's not
impotent, he's not vain, but heis the living God and he's the

(19:27):
one who's speaking to you andhe's speaking to you in a
position of, you know, holy, authoritative love and absolute,
perfect goodness.
He's the one who's sayingfollow me, and may you follow

(19:47):
him today, and amen and glory.
