Today, we look at the profound fulfillment of Isaiah 9:6-7 through Jesus' birth, life, and resurrection. We'll uncover the immense significance of the Lord's zeal—a divine passion that's been shaping history since creation. As we journey through these chapters, we'll reflect on how this zeal has not only brought about humanity's redemption, but also how it continues to influence the present and promises a glorious future with Christ's millennial reign and the new creation.

We also delve into the critical call for global evangelism, emphasizing the urgent need to share the gospel so that all can have the opportunity for salvation.

NEW BOOK! I'm pleased to say that we have completed a new book that has been years in the making. The Ten Shirot: Songs of Redemption looks at ten songs that were sung through pivotal times in Scripture. It's an examination of the redemption of Jesus, of worship, and of Scripture in a way that we believe you probably haven't seen before. Check it out at https://a.co/d/0a4KIooL .

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Greetings and welcome to the Redeeming Love Bible
broadcast.
My name is Phil Duddy, evangelist with Grace Baptist
Tabernacle of King, northCarolina.
Glad to have you with me on theprogram today.
Thankful you're here, as always.
Please do reach out to us atRedeemingTheLostAtIcloudcom.
We would love to hear from you.
And today we're going to be inan Old Testament passage.
And what a blessing it isbecause we can read, and we

(00:38):
should read, the Old Testamenttoday in light of what the Lord
has accomplished in the NewTestament and also in light of
what is promised to be done inthe future here, namely the new
heaven and the new earth.
And what a blessing that isbecause we're going to be
looking at a major, majorpassage of the book of Isaiah.

(01:00):
A lot of messages have beenpreached on this, a lot of
things have been written aboutthis passage and blessing,
blessing, blessing to be able tolook at this passage and see
what the Lord has already donein the past.
Look at what the Lord is doingin the present, right now, as we
speak, and look at what's goingto be coming in the future.

(01:22):
And so come with me to Isaiah, chapter 9, and we're going to be
beginning in verse 6.
We're going to be coming in thefuture, and so come with me to
Isaiah, chapter 9, and we'regoing to be beginning in verse 6
.
We're going to be readingverses 6 and 7, and here's what
the Word of God says, for untous a child is born, unto us a
son is given, and the governmentshall be upon his shoulder and
his name shall be calledWonderful.

(01:43):
Upon his shoulder and his nameshall be called Wonderful
Counselor.
The Mighty God, the EverlastingFather, the Prince of Peace, of
the increase of his governmentand peace there shall be no end
upon the throne of David andupon his kingdom to order it and
to establish it with judgmentand with justice, from
henceforth, even forever.

(02:04):
The zeal of the Lord of hostswill perform this, and I want to
work a little bit backwards inthe text today.
The zeal of the Lord of hostswill perform this.
That's the last sentence ofverse 7.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts.
And that is an amazing, amazing, amazing thing, because, as

(02:27):
Isaiah is giving this, he'sbeing given this promise by the
Holy Ghost and he is proclaimingthe birth of the Messiah.
He's looking, while Isaiah isgiving this, jesus had not yet
been born.
While Isaiah is giving this, jesus had not yet been born, and
so this passage, this promise,is given in a prophetic future

(02:50):
tense, because Isaiah, humanly,is looking forward to the birth
of the Messiah.
Now we today, hallelujah andamen.
Like I said a couple minutesago, we are looking back on
something that the Lord hasalready done.
Jesus was born of a virgin inBethlehem, and Jesus grew.

(03:11):
He grew and he bore witness tothe truth and he preached and he
fulfilled prophecy afterprophecy after prophecy.
He ministered to folks, hehealed the sick, he healed the
lame, he healed the blind, hedrove out the devils.
Hallelujah and amen.
He raised up the dead andpeople believed on him, and

(03:31):
people also rejected him, and atthe end of that time, when the
time was right, he laid down hislife on the cross.
He shed his blood on the cross,he laid down his life on the
cross, he died on the cross andon the third day he rose again.
Amen, hallelujah.
In 2024, as this is beingrecorded, we look back on that

(03:54):
and we look back on somethingthat has been complete, and we
also, at the same time, we lookat what the Lord's doing today
and we look at where the Lord'sgoing.
We look at the new heaven andthe new earth.
We look at the return of JesusChrist, those of us who are
saved and born again.
We look forward to having newbodies.
We look forward to meeting theLord face to face, to seeing the

(04:18):
Lord face to face, toworshiping the Lord in glory.
We look forward to all of thesethings and more, because eye
has not seen, ear has not heardwhat the Lord has prepared for
those who love him, for thosewho are in Christ.
Blood washed, sin gone, hallelujah, amen, spirit filled,

(04:39):
jesus, loving Bible, preachingpeople.
Today, glory and hallelujah.
We have a lot to look forwardto.
And so we look at something likeIsaiah, chapter 9, you know,
and we read this, and amen, hallelujah.
We are also read by this amen, you know.
That's another message, though, you know, don't just read the

(05:11):
word, but let the word read you, amen.
But we see something likeIsaiah, chapter 9, and we look
at it in light of the NewTestament, and it's rich, my
friend, and it's encouraging.
And we need to look at the zealof the Lord performed, not only
the birth of Jesus Christ, butthe zeal of the Lord is

(05:33):
continuing to perform duringthis church age which we're in
right now, the zeal of the Lordwill perform the increase of his
government and peace.
The zeal of the Lord willperform the millennial reign of
Christ that the book ofRevelation talks about.
The book of Revelation, if Ican talk today, the book of

(05:57):
Revelation talks about amillennial reign of Christ on
the earth.
The zeal of the Lord of hostswill perform that.
In addition, the zeal of theLord of hosts will perform the
establishment of the new heavensand the new earth.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts.
Now, zeal is very, very keyhere.

(06:19):
A zeal is a passion, a zeal, assome people have described it,
as a heat, as an eagerness toaccomplish a particular goal.
It's almost a single-mindedpassion and, my friend, the zeal
of the Lord has been activesince the beginning.
The zeal of the Lord was activebefore creation.

(06:42):
The zeal of the Lord was activeduring the act of creation.
The zeal of the Lord was activebefore creation.
The zeal of the Lord was activeduring the act of creation.
The zeal of the Lord was activewhen Adam fell, when humanity
fell, when people fell into sin.
The zeal of the Lord, how didthe Lord respond to this?
He covered them, he coveredAdam, he covered Eve and he said

(07:04):
glory, hallelujah, they'regoing to be a redeemer, and the
serpent is going to bruise hisheel.
But he is going to crush theserpent's head.
Well, my friend, jesus died onthe cross and that was a bruise.
Jesus rose again from the deadon the third day, walked out of

(07:24):
the tomb and glory, hallelujah, amen, that crushed the devil's
head.
The zeal of the Lord is working.
The passion of the Lord isaccomplishing everything that he
said he's going to accomplish.
The zeal of the Lord put JesusChrist on the cross.
The zeal of the Lord put JesusChrist on the cross.

(07:45):
The zeal of the Lord, let himshed his blood.
The zeal of the Lord, hallelujah and amen, established
salvation for all.
Whosoever will believe in JesusChrist Established, whosoever
will call upon the name of theLord shall be saved.
Established.
Salvation by grace and throughfaith through the works of God,

(08:06):
through the works of God, notthrough our works, but through
his.
What the zeal of the Lordaccomplished?
The passion of the Lord on thecross.
The passion of the Lord toredeem.
The passion of the Lord to takecare of your sin, my sin,
everybody else's sin, in a waythat allows for reconciliation,

(08:28):
in a way that allows for healing, in a way that allows for peace
, in a way that allows foreternal life instead of eternal
damnation.
That's the zeal of the Lord atwork, that's the zeal of God
working.
There's also a zeal of the Lordfor those who do not, for those
who reject Jesus Christ, there's a zeal.

(08:51):
There is such a thing, myfriend, as an eternal hell.
There's such a thing as aneternal fire.
There's such a thing as aneternal damnation.
That is, my friend, also anexpression of the zeal of the
Lord.
Now, that lake of fire thatburns with brimstone, that is
made for the devil and hisangels, that's the zeal of the

(09:12):
Lord at work as well.
Satan and every single angelthat followed him is looking
forward to a lake of fire.
They will have their part inthe lake that burns with fire
and brimstone.
And, my friend, we look at theWord of God and we see that very
, very clearly in the Word ofGod as well.
We see that in the Gospels, wesee that in the New Testament,

(09:33):
we see that in the Old Testament, we see that in the Book of
Revelation.
We see that there is a wrath ofGod, that there is a judgment
of God, that there is a wraththat hangs over the head right
now of every single lost man, woman and child in the world.
There is a wrath of God and itbuilds, and it builds, and it

(09:54):
builds, and it builds, and thatis also an expression of the
zeal of the Lord.
Now, the forbearance of God,the mercy of God, the goodness
of God says that I am not goingto pour out my wrath immediately
, but there's a Redeemer, butthere's Jesus.

(10:16):
But I have made it.
I have, you know, the Lord.
The Lord had made it so.
He is faithful and just toforgive whosoever puts their
faith in Jesus.
He's made it that way accordingto his passion, according to
his eagerness, according to hislove, according to his eagerness
, according to his love, according to his justice,

(10:38):
according to who he is.
You might say that there was asingle-minded march all the way
through the Old Testament andthe New Testament, straight to
the new heavens and the newearth, straight to a restoration
, straight to a heaven and anearth that has no sin.
And, my friend, that was madepossible by the cross.

(10:59):
The Lord established the crossin history and it's the entire
basis on how he can show mercy,it's the entire basis of
forgiveness, it's the entirebasis of grace, it's the entire
basis of the.
It's the entire basis of thenew heaven and the new earth.
It's the cross.

(11:20):
It's the cross.
It's the fact that the Lordlaid all sin upon Jesus.
He laid your sin on Jesus.
He laid my sin on Jesus.
He laid the curse on Jesus.
He laid the sin that's activein all creation.
He laid it squarely on JesusChrist.

(11:41):
Jesus Christ bled, jesus Christdied.
Before he died, though,hallelujah.
What did he say?
He said it is finished.
It is finished.
One of those things, my friend,is your salvation and mine.
Even if you're lost, dying andhellbound and you're listening
to this your salvation, the workof your salvation is complete.

(12:04):
For that work to be applied toyou, you must believe.
For that work to be applied toyou, it's by grace and through
faith, through your faith inJesus Christ.
I've got good news for youtoday.
Your sin has already been dealtwith.
The work has already been done, and your salvation doesn't come

(12:25):
by your works.
It comes by the works thatJesus Christ has done.
It comes by the work that theFather gave him to do.
It comes by the work that theHoly Spirit.
You know, the Holy Spirit kindof grabs you, kind of interrupts
you, kind of arrests you andsays that you need to hear the
Word of God.
There's a work that has beendone, there's a work that

(12:48):
applies to you Right now you'reunder the wrath of God.
But that work of Jesus Christ,my friend, is done and it is
complete and it is good, and itis holy and a good God did it
full of zeal, full of passion, full of love, full of justice,
and he did it for you.

(13:09):
Will you receive that which hehas done?
Will you receive that which hehas done?
Will you come under the blood?
Will you have your sin washedaway?
Will you be forgiven?
Will you be born again?
Will you be made new?
That's the question.
The question is not what do youhave to do?
The question is okay, god'sdone it.

(13:30):
How are you going to respond toit?
Are you going to receive it byfaith, or are you going to push
to it?
Are you going to receive it byfaith or are you going to push
away and walk away?
But, my friend, the zeal of theLord of hosts.
Glory to God, hallelujah andamen.
Unto us a child is born.
Verse six reads it Unto us, achild is born.
God gave, god gave, god gave.

(14:02):
God gave, god gave.
Unto us a son is given, hallelujah.
Jesus is born of a virgin.
He's fully man.
Unto us a son is given.
Jesus is the only begotten sonof God.
He's fully God, fully man, fully God and the government
shall be upon his shoulder.
All of the administration andthe authority and all creation.
The Lord puts it on Jesus.

(14:22):
The Lord puts it on Jesus.
He is King of kings, he is Lordof lords.
We see this in the light of thebook of Revelation.
He's King of kings, he's Lordof lords, all the lords, all the
government, all theadministration, all the
authority, all the function, allthe sustaining, everything
about creation, everything aboutsociety, everything about um,

(14:47):
everything about everything isput upon the mighty shoulders of
j Christ.
And this is his name, this ishis description, this is who he
is.
He is wonderful.
He is wonderful, something thatis purely of the Lord.
How is he?
He is the Lord.
He is purely of the Lordbecause he is the Lord.

(15:11):
He came as a newborn baby.
He came as a newborn baby andand, my friend, that's, that's a
glorious thing.
Now, the greatest expression oflove that the lord shows to
this world, the greatestexpression of revelation, like
who god is.
And it started in bethlehemwhen there was a child born of a

(15:33):
virgin woman named Mary.
Started as a child, you know,he didn't immediately come back,
lord of Lords, king of Kings.
But no, a child was born andJesus grew Fully man, fully God.
Jesus grew, and this was purelyof the Lord, purely.

(15:55):
It's impossible for the worldto duplicate it, it's impossible
for the world to imitate it,it's impossible for the world to
equal it.
But this is something purely ofthe Lord, because Jesus himself
is fully Lord.
Jesus is Lord and he iscounselor.
He's full of the wisdom and thecounsel of the Lord.

(16:15):
There's nothing of sin in him, there's nothing of Satan in him,
there's nothing of the world inhim, but he's full of the
wisdom and the counsel of GodBecause he is mighty God, living
, working, ministering in thestrength of God.
He is everlasting father, he isof old, he is from everlasting

(16:35):
and he is to everlasting.
He is of old, he is fromeverlasting and he is to
everlasting.
He is the Lord who has alwaysbeen and he is the Lord who is
now and he is the Lord who isalready always going to be.
And, my friend, the increase ofthe government and of his peace
there shall be no end.
Upon the throne of David andupon his kingdom to order it, to

(16:58):
order it.
He is the prince of peace, myfriend, the prince of peace and
of the increase of hisgovernment and peace there shall
be no end.
The Lord's work and the Lord'srule and the Lord's zeal results
in a peace.
And, my friend, there's no peaceto be had in sin.

(17:18):
If you're in your sin today.
There's no peace between youand the Lord.
There's the Lord's mercy uponyou as you hear this message.
There's the Lord's goodnessupon you as you hear this
message, but there is no peacebetween you and the Lord.
There is a peace to be had inJesus Christ.
There is a peace to be receivedin Jesus Christ.

(17:41):
There is a completeness, asafety, a soundness, a welfare,
a health, a prosperity, atranquility, a contentment.
There's peace in yourrelationships between you and
God, yes, but also betweenpeople and people, between you
and other people.
There is peace in yourrelationships between you and
God, yes, but also betweenpeople and people, between you
and other people.
There is peace to be had.
My friend, do you need peacetoday?

(18:03):
Because I've got good news foryou the Lord's work and the
Lord's authority and the Lord'srule results in a peace.
And, my friend, if you're not,you know, if you're yet in your
sins, my, my, my.
He wants that peace to comeabout because of the blood of
Jesus Christ, because of theblood of Jesus Christ, not

(18:26):
because of your blood, because,as we mentioned, there's a very,
very, very real hell.
And, my friend, if you lookahead to the new heavens and the
new earth, there's no sin there, there's peace.
And, my friend, there's peacebecause you'll see saints
walking around there, you'll seepeople walking around there.

(18:48):
How are they walking aroundthere?
They put their faith in theLord Jesus Christ.
They got their sins forgiven, they got their sins washed away
and they were born again by thepower of God, in the love of God
.
Hallelujah, god loves, you know.
We love God because he loved usfirst.
They love the Lord, he lovesthem and they're walking around

(19:11):
and the Lord's not seeing theirsin.
Why?
Because the sin, you know, everything that Jesus did on the
cross got applied to them.
Everything that Jesus did onthe cross was applied to them,
and so they're separated fromtheir sin.
The Lord, you know, goes so faras to forget, to forget your sin

(19:33):
.
And that's amazing, my friend.
One of the best old gospelsongs, amazing Grace.
That is amazing grace that theLord forgets your sin and it
doesn't just poof vanished.
No, the sin was on Jesus.
Jesus suffered, jesus bled,jesus.

(19:55):
Jesus suffered, jesus bled andJesus died.
And in that process the Fatherturned his face away from him
Because your sin, my sin, thesin of everybody on this world,
was on him.
That's where your sin went andthat is how your sin got dealt

(20:16):
with.
God didn't just wipe it out,but no, he put it on his only
begotten son and Jesus died yourdeath and Jesus bore your death
.
Jesus suffered and died in yourplace.
Now, glory hallelujah.

(20:37):
He rose again.
But, my friend, that is whereyour sin went.
That's why, because he saidit's finished.
So the second you put your faithin Jesus Christ, you come under
that blood.
That death is applied to you.
The Lord doesn't see your sinanymore.
Why?
Because sin results in death.
You were headed toward death.

(20:58):
Well, amen, by grace and throughfaith, you believe Jesus.
His death got applied to you inthe eyes of God and that's
enough for you to be forgiven, and that will always be enough
for anyone to be forgiven.
And so there comes to be peacebetween you and God, because
there's no reason for you to die, I mean, in the eyes of God.

(21:20):
You died already.
In the eyes of God, you werecrucified with Christ and you
died and you're risen.
Hallelujah, jesus rose againfrom the grave and we are risen
with him.
Put your faith in him today, myfriend.
Put your faith in him today, because there is no other way to

(21:40):
have peace with God and thereis no other way to have peace
from God.
It's a completeness, my friend,it's a safety, it's a soundness
, it's a wealth, it's a welfareand a health and a prosperity.
It's a tranquility, acontentment and, my friend, the
Lord wants you to have it.

(22:01):
And at the same time, my friend, there's a new heaven and a new
earth coming, and those whoreject Jesus you need to
understand who you're rejecting.
You're rejecting the Lord ofLords, you're rejecting the King
of Kings and you're rejectingthe God who loves you.
And God will have a new heavenand a new earth.

(22:24):
It is established now and weshall see it established in
history as history moves forward.
And, my friend, there's no sinthere.
As history moves forward.
And, my friend, there's no sinthere.
And, my friend, your sin isgoing to be ultimately dealt
with either under the blood ofJesus or under your own blood.

(22:47):
Your death is either going tobe your death or it's either
going to be the death of JesusChrist applied to you and my
friend.
I know the heart of God herethat he's not willing that any
should perish.
That's revealed in the NewTestament Amen.
He's not willing that youshould perish, but should you

(23:08):
perish, it will only be becauseyou refuse and reject the Lord,
jesus Christ, and everythingthat he's done for you and my
friend.
May you not reject him today, but as he draws you to salvation
, may there be a yes Lord, aglory Lord, a hallelujah Lord,

(23:28):
and may you call upon the nameof Jesus Christ in faith,
because whosoever calls upon thename of the Lord shall be saved
.
That's a good promise from Godand if you need that today, I
want you to call upon the nameof the Lord.
And to those brothers andsisters around the world who are
listening to this, I want tosay thank you for being a part

(23:50):

around the world, and I hopeyou're encouraged by this

I hope you're encouraged bythis message.

of God, in the power of God andknowing what God has done,
knowing what the Lord has donein you and knowing where the
Lord is going in the future andthat he doesn't want anybody to

(24:36):
perish, but he wants everybodyto hear the gospel of Jesus
Christ and to have anopportunity to be saved.
And he wants to use you in thatgood work.
And so may you be used and maythe Lord bear so much abundant
fruit in all of us and may hecontinue to richly bless us.
