We continue to look at the topic of authority in Matthew 28. How does this authority impact your life today? Join us as we uncover the blessings that come from surrendering to Jesus as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We'll discuss how His unwavering faithfulness guarantees salvation and eternal life for those who believe, offering forgiveness and reconciliation to all who feel burdened by sin.

As followers of Christ, we are called to "go and teach all nations," a mission that extends beyond the original disciples to each of us today. We'll delve into the heart of discipleship, emphasizing a spiritual transformation that springs from living a new life in Christ. Through the profound symbolism of baptism in Romans 6, we explore the unity with Christ in death and resurrection, leading to true freedom from sin.

NEW BOOK! I'm pleased to say that we have completed a new book that has been years in the making. The Ten Shirot: Songs of Redemption looks at ten songs that were sung through pivotal times in Scripture. It's an examination of the redemption of Jesus, of worship, and of Scripture in a way that we believe you probably haven't seen before. Check it out at https://a.co/d/0a4KIooL .

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Hello and welcome to the Redeeming Love Bible
broadcast.
My name is Phil Duddy, evangelist with Grace Baptist
Tabernacle of King, northCarolina.
Really happy to have you withme on the program today.
As always, please do reach outto us at Redeingthelost at
icloudcom.
We would love to hear from you.
Glad to have you with me todayas we continue our series called
With you.
This is going to be part two ofthat series and we're going to

(00:37):
be right back in Matthew, chapter 28.
So let's go to Matthew 28, andwe will read the word of God,
starting at verse 16.
Then the 11 disciples went awayinto Galilee, into a mountain
where Jesus had appointed them, and when they saw him, they
worshipped him.
But some doubted.
And Jesus came and spake untothem, saying all power is given

(01:01):
unto me in heaven and earth.
Go ye, therefore, and teach allnations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of theSon and of the Holy Ghost,
teaching them to observe allthings whatsoever.
I've commanded you and lo, I amwith you always, even unto the
end of the world.
Amen, amen, amen, amen andhallelujah.
And what we saw last time wasthe authority of Jesus Christ.

(01:25):
And when Jesus Christ says thatall power is given unto me in
heaven and in earth, and wespent a long time last time on
the program seeing thatauthority, and what a blessing
that is to those who are bornagain.
What a blessing to those whoare spirit filled.
What a blessing to those whoare spirit-filled.
What a blessing to those whoare in Christ and Christ is in

(01:47):
us.
That Jesus is King of Kings andJesus is Lord of Lords, and
Jesus has all power given untohim in heaven and in earth.
That's our Lord, that's our God, and in earth, that's our Lord.
That's our God.

(02:07):
He's not impotent, he's not weakand he's not flawed in any way.
He doesn't get tired, hedoesn't get bored, he's faithful
.
He's faithful to everything hesays, he's faithful to every
promise that he's made, and henot only says it, but he brings
it to pass.
He not only promises us thesethings, but he brings it to pass
.
He not only shed his blood, henot only died an atoning death,

(02:31):
he not only rose again from thedead, but also, in addition to
those things he is able to saveto the uttermost, he is able to
save those who put their faithin him.
He is able to take care ofthose who put their faith in him
.
He's not only able to do thesethings.

(02:51):
He's not only able to savepeople from the wrath of God,
he's not only able to givepeople eternal life.
He's not only able to makepeople born again.
He's not only able to make allthings new.
He's not only able to do things.
What's more, he doesn't justhave the ability, he also has
the will.
He desires these things.

(03:15):
He desires these things and hedelights in these things.
Jesus is not reluctant to savesomebody.
He's not reluctant to save you.
If you're listening to this andyou need salvation, if you're
listening to this and you areyet in your sins and you're in
danger of dying in those sinsand you're in danger of

(03:38):
experiencing the wrath of God,you're in danger of that wrath
falling on you.
You're in danger of hell itself.
I've got good news for you, because Jesus has good news for
you.
He says it right here.
He says it in other places inthe New Testament, he even says
it in the Old Testament that hedelights to save people.

(03:59):
He delights to reconcile people.
He delights to forgive people.
He is rich in mercy.
He is rich in grace.
He is full of grace and he'sfull of truth.
He's slow to anger, and amenand glory and hallelujah.
That's why the wrath of Godhasn't fallen on you yet,
because you know God has a wrath, but he's slow to anger and he
is rich in mercy.

(04:20):
And you're listening to thistoday and God's got goodness and
mercy following you so that youcan hear the good news of Jesus
Christ that he became your sinhis.
He took upon himself your sin.
The father imputed to him yoursin.
He died the death that youshould die.
He experienced, um, um, youknow God turning his face away

(04:45):
from him.
He experienced death and hedied the death that you should
die.
And he has risen again today andhe's saying come unto me, come
unto me, come unto me, call uponme, believe on me and I will
give you eternal life.
Um, you know we, you know myfather, will forgive your sin.
You know God says you flipahead to 1 John a little bit.

(05:09):
And God is.
You know the Father is faithfuland just to forgive everybody
who believes on Jesus Christ.
He is faithful and just toforgive you, no matter how
heinous or twisted your sinmight be.
Forgive you, no matter howheinous or twisted your sin

(05:30):
might be.
He will not throw out somebodywho's humble.
He will not throw out somebodywho's listening to this.
And you've got the fear of theLord and you know you're in sin
and it's deep down in your soulthat there is a convincing and a
convicting going on that youare in your sin and you are
looking at death and you'relooking at eternal hell and your

(05:52):
sin is against God.
Your sin is against God.
You know, yeah, you've sinnedagainst other people, but you've
sinned against God.
And if there's a desire in youto be forgiven, if there's a
desire in you to be forgiven, ifthere's a desire in you to
submit yourself to Jesus Christ,if there's a faith rising up in

(06:13):
you in Jesus, that this is foryou, that he is Lord, he is King
, he is God and that thismessage is right for you today,
then I want you to stopeverything right now and call
upon the name of the Lord isright for you today.
Then I want you to stopeverything right now and call
upon the name of the Lord, callupon the name of Jesus and ask
him that he would save you andthat you would be born again,
you would be forgiven, you wouldhave eternal life, you'd be

(06:35):
filled with the Holy Ghost, because the Lord, jesus Christ,
he's not only able to save you,he's willing to save you and
anybody who puts their faith inhim, whosoever put their faith
in him and call upon his name,he's ready, willing and able to
save you.

(06:56):
You know, in this message heretoday, you know hallelujah,
bless God and amen.
But the Lord is so good becausehe says you know to his
disciples.
He says you know to us today.
Go ye, therefore, and teach allnations.
This is not just for theimmediate 11 disciples who are

(07:18):
standing around.
You know, this comes to ustoday as well.
And Jesus says all power isgiven unto me in heaven and the
earth.
And on the basis of that, because of that, he says go.
On the basis of his kingship,on the basis of his lordship, on
the basis of his good authority, he says go ye.

(07:41):
Therefore.
You know, bless God and amen.
You know we've got the HolyGhost today.
And he says go ye, therefore.
And I love this verse, becausethere's a command to go but
there's not a command to stop.
Did you ever notice thatthere's a command to go and

(08:02):
there's no command to stop?
Because Jesus says that if youskip down to verse 20, he says
lo, I am with you always, evenunto the end of the world, even
into the consummation of thisperiod of time, even to the end
of this age of time which wecall the church age today.
Bless God, even unto that, tothe consummation and to the end

(08:23):
of that, he is with us always, and it's all on the basis of his
will, it's on the basis of hisauthority, it's all on the basis
of his kingship.
And he says go ye, therefore.
And so, yeah, he's talkingabout these 11 people and he's
talking about the church whichwas going to come up.
And he's talking about, youknow, the church is going to

(08:44):
come up.
In Acts, chapter two, he'stalking about them and he's
talking about all the way downthe line through history, right
up until 2024.
That's when this is beingrecorded, anyway, july of 2024.
But no matter when you'relistening to this, amen, but
right up until the present day, this command is there.

(09:08):
There's a command to go,there's no command to stop, and
there are so many promises.
You know, and we'll get into, you know, verse 20 a little bit
more last time.
But jesus is always with us,the holy ghost is always with us
.
He's with us in this whole timethat we are going and that we
are teaching all of the nations.
And this teaching is the senseof making a disciple.

(09:30):
This teaching is a sense of youknow someone who's a follower,
someone who learns and receivesfrom Jesus.
And, my friend, I've got totell you today this is not just
an academic thing, this is notjust you thing, this is not just

(09:50):
academic head knowledge.
That's not what making adisciple is.
It's way beyond academic.
And the verse doesn't stopthere.
The verse sort of explainsitself.
It said baptizing them in thename of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Ghost.
Baptizing them and againbaptizing somebody.

(10:20):
Being baptized, it's more thanwater, it's more than getting
wet, it's more than going underthe water and coming up out of
the water.
It's way more than that.
And you know, come on with meto the book of Romans.
We'll just read a little bitout of Romans, chapter 6, here.
Book of Romans, chapter 6, andI'm going to start right here,
in verse 3.
Know ye not that so many of usas were baptized into Jesus

(10:40):
Christ were baptized into hisdeath, didn't just get wet, but
baptized into his death?
And the Word of God continues, says therefore, we are buried
with him by baptism into deaththat, like as Christ was raised
up from the dead by the glory ofthe Father.
Even so, we also should walk innewness of life.

(11:03):
So we're not talking theology.
So we're not talking theology.
We're not talking churchhistory.
We're not talking.
You know, even knowing.
You know biblical Greek andbiblical Hebrew.
We're not talking about all theclassroom stuff here.
This is beyond that.
We should walk in newness oflife.

(11:27):
And verse 5 continues, says Forif we have been planted together
in the likeness of his deathAmen, I like that planted, you
know hallelujah and amen, youknow, just like you put a seed
deep into the ground If we havebeen planted together in the
likeness of his death, we shallbe also in the likeness of his

(11:47):
resurrection, knowing this, thatour old man is crucified with
him, that the body of sin mightbe destroyed, that henceforth we
should not serve sin, for hethat is dead is freed from sin.
Now, if we be dead with Christ,we believe that we shall also
live with him, knowing thatChrist, being raised from the

(12:08):
dead, dieth.
No more Death hath no moredominion over him, for in that
he died, he died unto sin once, but in that he liveth.
He liveth unto God.
Likewise, reckon ye alsoyourselves to be dead, indeed
unto sin Again.
More than just head knowledgeAgain, more than just declaring

(12:29):
yourself to be a follower ofJesus Again, more than just
simply agreeing that what Jesussays is true.
But, my friend, this is deep, this is deep.
This is deep.
Likewise, reckon ye alsoyourselves to be dead, indeed,
unto sin, but alive unto Godthrough Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Let not sin, therefore, reignin your mortal body that you

(12:52):
should obey it in the lustthereof.
Neither yield ye your membersas instruments of
unrighteousness unto sin, butyield yourselves unto God.
Yield yourselves unto God onthe most personal, deep,
fundamental levels, on the levelof your spirit, which is alive

(13:12):
in Jesus Christ, our Lord, onthe level of your soul, your
volition, your heart, your will.
You yield yourself and youyield your members.
You yield this body, you yieldyour mind.
You yield yourself no longer tosin, but you yield yourselves

(13:35):
to God as those that are alivefrom the dead, and your members
as instruments of righteousnessunto God.
No longer using your mind forsin, no longer using your hands
for sin, no longer using yourfeet for sin, no longer using
your hands for sin, no longerusing your feet from sin, no
longer using your body for sin,but you yield yourselves unto
God as those who are alive fromthe dead, amen, and your members

(13:59):
as instruments of righteousnessunto God, for sin shall not
have dominion over you, for youare not under the law, but grace
.
And, my friend, that's a littlebit more what baptism is, that's
a little bit more of whatdiscipleship is, that's what
making a disciple is.
So, yes, a disciple must beborn again.

(14:20):
And so we have evangelism, andso we have the preaching of
Jesus, and so we have prayer, and so we have ministry, and so
we have intercession, and so wehave the preaching of Jesus, and
so we have prayer, and so wehave ministry, and so we have
intercession, and so we havewitnessing, and so we have
declaring the word of God.
So we have preaching the wordof God, so we have living the
word of God.
Now we must have evangelism, wemust have people, you know, we

(14:42):
must have saved, born again,spirit-filled disciples.
But my friend, romans, chapter6, verses 3 through 14, what we
just read, that goes on in everysingle solitary disciple.
And so, again, like I sort ofcheated a little bit, and I said
it already.

(15:02):
It's way more than academicknowledge.
It's way more than morality.
It's way more than behaviormanagement.
It's way more than justlearning some biblical
principles.
It's way more than taking abiblical history class.
It's way more than financialclasses.
It's way more than that.

(15:24):
It's way more than you knowprinciples to be a better dad or
a better mom or a better wifeor a better son or a better
daughter.
It's way more than that.
You know, there's an intimateencounter with Jesus Christ and
it begins with him showing youyour sin and it begins with you

(15:46):
yielding yourself to him.
It begins with you calling uponthe Lord him.
It begins with you calling uponthe Lord Jesus.
It begins with your salvation,it begins with your forgiveness,
it begins with receiving theHoly Ghost.
But it begins there, my friend, and you'll notice that
salvation and receiving the HolyGhost, receiving eternal life,
receiving all these thingsabsolutely none of that is

(16:09):
things.
Absolutely none of that isacademic, absolutely none of
that is learning the correcttheological truths, or whatever
you want to call it.
None of it's academic.
Salvation doesn't happen in ourminds, right?
But no, my friend, salvation isin the spirit, salvation is in

(16:33):
the will, salvation is in theheart, and so the faith rises up
from you.
The faith rises up in you andyou willingly, volitionally,
yield yourself and call upon thename of Jesus.
You willingly, volitionallybelieve Jesus, in the name of

(16:56):
Jesus.
You willingly, volitionallybelieve Jesus.
And, my friend, you know yourmind's involved with that, but
it doesn't happen in your mind.
And bless God and amen for that.
Because, hallelujah, you know, the mind is a fallen thing, the
mind is a corrupt thing thing.
The mind is a corrupt thing, the mind.
You know, this fallen mind canbe a very, very, very dangerous

(17:27):
thing.
But, hallelujah, jesus istalking to your heart today, and
so what will you do with that?
What will you do with that?
As a Christian hearing this, will you believe this?
Will you let this get youexcited about going and making
disciples?
Because your Lord and your Godand your King, he's in authority
, he's on his throne, he'sruling, he's reigning and he's
saying you know, on the basis ofwho I am, on the basis of this
authority I have, I want you togo and I want you to teach these

(17:53):
nations, I want you to baptizethem in the name of the Father,
son, holy Ghost, and I'm goingto be with you through the whole
thing, even into the end ofthis age.
Now, does that get you excited?
Does that get you fired up?
Does that get you excited aboutwalking this out with your God,
because he's going to be withyou every step of the way?
And, my friend, there's going tobe a practicality that comes

(18:17):
about.
You know, you're going to see, you're not going to just know
the Word of God.
You're going to see the Word ofGod in action.
You're going to see it moving.
You're going to see him movingin you.
You're going to see him movingthrough.
You're going to see him movingin these other people.
So this is way more than justprinciples and facts and dates

(18:37):
and you know all the stuff thatyou can learn in the classroom.
This is way more than that.
This is way more than just amental thing.
And hallelujah for that.
Because you know, I said youknow this mind's corrupt, this
mind's fallen, and so that's whyGod gives you a new one, god

(18:58):
saves you and God gives you themind of Christ.
Amen.
And that's a good good thing, because hallelujah and amen for
that.
Because he saves you to theuttermost, he saves you fully,
he saves you entirely, he savesyou perfectly, he saves you
completely and he does not letyou go for one second after that

(19:24):
, because he is a faithful and atrue God.
And, matter of fact, you knowI've been through it and you
know I know other people havebeen through it too.
Born again people, and you knowwe walk away from the Lord.
You know there are times, youknow we walk away from the Lord,
but I can tell you the truth.
You know, not only in my lifebut in other people in our

(19:46):
church, he has always come andbrought us back.
He's never let us go and that'sbeen amazing grace.
That's been His faithfulness, that's been His redeeming love,
that's been His passionate loveas a father, as the head of the

(20:07):
church and as the lover of oursouls.
So that's the kind of God thisis.
And so you know and I hopeyou're hearing that that that
you know.
This goes on in everybody who isa disciple.
Yeah, god deals with your mind, god helps you with your mind,
but it goes way, way, way, waybeyond just sort of a mental

(20:27):
thing and just some principlesand just some morals and just
some good behavior and just youknow.
Just you know maybe a differentdress code or something like
that.
You know it's way, way, waybeyond that, and so I ask you,
is that your walk with Jesustoday, right this second?
Because that's the kind of walkhe wants you to have.
And you know, church, if you'relistening to this as a born

(20:48):
again, spirit filled, brother inthe Lord, a sister in the Lord,
I hope this has been a blessingto you.
Wherever you are in this world, wherever you are in terms of
the nations, whether you're herein America or in the several
nations around the world who arelistening to this, I pray this
has been a real blessing, a realencouragement for you in your

(21:10):
walk with the Lord, been a realblessing, a real encouragement
for you in your walk with theLord.
And you know, and again, ifyou're listening to this and the
Lord has shown you that youneed to be born again, I hope
you've already called upon thename of the Lord.
If you haven't yet, may you dothat.
You know, just right now, callupon the name of Jesus, ask him
to be saved, ask him to be bornagain, yield yourself to him.

(21:31):
Let that faith that's in youcome on up out of your mouth and
come into some words, amen.
And you know we want to hearfrom you wherever you are,
whatever the Lord's doing in you.
So, redeemingthelost atiCloudcom, get in touch with us.
