Season 2 of Reeled In sadly comes to an end this week, so join us one more time as we discuss the final boss of movies: Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Also, we reminisce on the first 34 episodes of Reeled In and discover whose movie recommendations we all liked the most.
On this episode of Reeled In, Sam recommends yet another anime film. This time, we're watching Your Name, the beloved 2016 film by Makoto Shinkai about two high school students who start mysteriously switching bodies. Avery also recommends one of her favourite animated films, Tangled, the 2010 Disney film based on the story of Rapunzel and starring anti-vax RFK Jr. superfan Zachary Levi.
On this episode, we talk about our close personal friend and global sex symbol Sy Ableman, star of the hit summer blockbuster A Serious Man, directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. We also talk about our other close personal friend The VelociPastor, star of The VelociPastor. He's like a pastor but also he's a dinosaur, so that's pretty cool.

This week, Reeled In celebrates its 30th episode by discussing the most fitting movie for the occasion: 13 Going on 30! It's also coincidentally episode 13 of season 2, so it's even more fitting than we could have ever imagined. Let's just pretend that we planned this all along. Also, Goodfellas I guess.
Happy Pride Month! This week, we discuss two iconic and beloved LGBTQ+ films. First, Sam recommends Céline Sciamma's 2019 film Portrait of a Lady on Fire, a gorgeous eighteenth-century lesbian romance drama that instantly cemented itself as a queer classic. Then Avery recommends the Christian post-apocalyptic action film The Book of Eli, another queer classic.
Do you like movies? If so, check out this week's episode of Reeled In, where Alex recommends the modern Canadian classic I Like Movies. Avery in turn recommends Jay Kelly, which was first recommended to her by Alex, so there are basically two Alex picks this week.
Reeled In finally returns with Season 2.5! This week we discuss two modern sci-fi classics, starting with Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, which featuring a star-studded cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, and Timothée Chalamet. Then we discuss the 2026 breakout hit Project Hail Mary, as well as the book that it's based on.
On this episode, Sam recommends Peter Weir's Dead Poets Society, starring Robin Williams as a passionate English teacher who inspires his students to seize the day. Avery also recommends the Disney sports drama McFarland, USA, starring Kevin Costner as an irritable track coach who inspires his students to run fast.
