As the Body of Christ, His church, we must ask ourselves if we are showing love to our enemies. What are our motives? Do they affect our obedience to God?
Jonah exhibits major character flaws as a man of God and a prophet, yet Abba Father showed him mercy. God is patient with Jonah despite Jonah sulking, complaining, having pride, selfishness, and willful disobedience.
God sent a storm through an East Wind to wake Jonah up.
