Educators across the country are dealing with a burnout crisis, as the aftermath of COVID-19 has highlighted significant learning loss among scholars, and increased demands and stress on educators. Alarmingly, in the state of California, one in five teachers is now considering leaving the profession within the next three years. Alliance College-Ready Public Schools has been serving Los Angeles County for 20 years, and was founded on the belief that all children are capable of learning and achieving at high levels – regardless of their income level, ability, or socio-economic background. As one of the largest, most successful nonprofit public school networks in the nation, they are working to solve the teacher burnout problem with their innovative pilot program, Reimagining the Alliance Educator. Through an exhaustive, research based process, Alliance has more than doubled the planning time for teachers, and increased both academic intervention and enrichment opportunities for scholars across their pilot schools. Already it's making a big difference in the work-life balance of their teachers, and is directly impacting the lives of the scholars they serve. Hosted by Alliance VP of Network Initiatives Sonja Grant, this 8-part series features interviews with principals, teachers, and scholars from two middle schools and one high school who have piloted a new schedule change program tailored specifically for each school community. Follow the inspiring journey, and learn how your school can apply the lessons to reimagine education. * Reimagining the Alliance Educator: The Podcast is produced by the Alliance College-Ready Public School’s Home Office team, with producer and writer Monique Madrid, Jass Stewart, and Sonja Grant. Sound and editing is done by Jacob Tummino and Travis Thompson. Pablo Villavicencio is Alliance’s CEO. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
