Vallabhacharya also played an important role in strengthening the philosophical base of Sri Vaisnavism. He was a Telangana Brahmin whose family had settled in Banaras. He traveled incessantly preaching, debating, the latter was an established form of settling disputes among members of rival religious sects. It was primarily due to the efforts of Vallabahacharya and Jiv Goswami and their disciples that an active center of Krisna worship arose in Mathura and Vrindavan. It seems to be in these circles that a new theology of Vrindavana evolved, the mysteries of which according to the sacred scriptures took place in the mythical past and came to be regarded as earthly manifestation of the eternal Vrindavna where beyond space and time Krishna enjoys himself in Radha's company .
