Become a Relative & send some love

The journey of self-discovery takes unexpected turns when we're truly paying attention. After a three-month hiatus, Antoine returns with renewed purpose and perspective, sharing the transformative experiences that have shaped his recent months.

From the competitive fields of Little League softball to the therapeutic shores of Jamaica, Antoine reveals how coaching has become his unexpected calling. Leading the Mamie Johnson Little League team to back-to-back DC championships and competing in the Regional World Series in Connecticut, he's discovered profound fulfillment in mentoring young athletes. The pride in watching his players make ESPN highlights mingles with the coach's determination to elevate their fundamentals and conditioning for future success.

His first genuine international vacation to Jamaica offered both paradise and predicament – from grounding morning rituals on pristine beaches to an unexpected overnight stranding at the airport when standby flights fell through. The contrast between resort luxury and airport survival mode delivered unexpected wisdom that only travel can provide.

As Antoine approaches his 40th birthday, he reflects on four decades of growth with remarkable clarity. His 30s proved most challenging but most formative, teaching him to value authentic relationships, pursue personal evolution, and redefine success on his own terms. Now coaching both his daughters and other young athletes, completing his marketing degree, creating new music, and planning more international adventures, he embraces this milestone with purpose: "Turning 40 isn't the end of youth—it's the beginning of living with clarity and intention."

What goals are shaping your next chapter? Have you found purpose in unexpected places? Listen to this deeply personal episode and join the conversation about finding meaning through life's unpredictable journey.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yes, sir, yes sir, we are back.
We are back, man.
It's been a while.
It's been a while, as always, man, welcome relationships worth
more than money.
It's been a journey, man.
You know I took a nice threemonth break but in that three
month break I got a lot going on, had a lot going on, as you can

(00:23):
see new spot, new area Forthose that's watching the
Vibcast, but for the audiolisteners, I moved to Laurel

(00:43):
from Saultein.
I'm in Laurel now, love it.
Very, very big change.
Very peaceful, not saying.
My spot in Suitland wasn't butit.
Man, I've been doing a lot.
I've been doing a lot.

(01:08):
If y'all don't know, I'm aLittle League coach.
I'm a middle school softballcoach, little League softball
coach.
My daughters play, but even ifthey're not playing, I'm
coaching.
So over the past, what fromJune July, I was really honed in

(01:30):
, focused on the Little LeagueRegional World Series in
Connecticut.
We won DC again this year, lastyear, back to back, um, so big
ups to the the mamie johnsonlittle league softball team, man
, because in all honesty, that'swhere I found my purpose.
Um, I know I do a lot, man.

(01:53):
I love marketing, um, I lovemusic, um, fashion, things of
that nature.
But I had to find somethingthat you know, I know I can be
at, not not, not as necessarilyat peace with, but I love to do
and train and help, um, youngladies get to where they need to

(02:16):
be, and it'd be dope totransfer, transfer over to, uh,
coaching men too, but right nowthat's my focus.
So June and July we had atournament here in DC in June
and then we pretty much won andthe thing that was different

(02:40):
from this squad, I want to say,was a lot of adversity Because
these girls, you know, they camemeshed together.
We still had some girls we hadLena, sash and Erin from the
previous year that made it tothe Little League World Series,
but these girls were all newgirls from either 10U or brand

(03:00):
new.
So this one was more of achallenge but it was actually
fun.
It was fun like training thesegirls, teaching these girls and
dealing with all their attitudes.
But, um, I will say this groupwas was very unique, um, and we
didn't succeed at connect.

(03:22):
But I learned so much Becausewhen you go to Connecticut, you
know the girls get sent off intoa dorm and they got two
chaperones and it's just thechaperones and the girls the
only time they see us is eitherpractice or during the game,
like they're secluded.
They're in a whole compound downthere in Connecticut and shout
out to everybody in Connecticut, all the staff in Connecticut,

(03:47):
man, y'all are really dope,y'all always welcome us with
open arms.
But yeah, so we really wentthere with a purpose.
We played a little flat.
That first game we played Ithink it was Delaware.
Shout out to the coach overthere um, we played delaware

(04:08):
first and they got some reallygood girls.
And the thing is it'sfundamentals when it, when it
all comes down to it,fundamentals is what's going to
get you to the next step, goingto get you to the next game, to
the next win, to the nextelevation of competition.

(04:30):
So a lot of routine plays wemissed on, but highlights Sasha
was pitching so well, she wasdoing her thing.
Laina got a home run.
That was dope, made it on ESPN.
Tootie got a couple defensiveplays made on ESPN.

(04:51):
The twins, amir and Amora.
They did their thing at firstand short Morgan, everybody, man
, all the girls Morgan, brooke, imani, maya, riley, aaron, who
else we got?

(05:11):
Like all of the girls, if Imiss the name, I don't think I
missed the name, I namedeverybody that pretty much
played their position.
But yeah, they did a reallygood job and I was pretty proud
of the girls.
But we got to be better.
We got to be better.
So this year well, not this year, this fall, like it was

(05:35):
literally July, august we back, and then we back in DC and I
only had a month before fallball started because fall ball
just started we had our firstgame in Dunkirk area, southern
Maryland shout out to SouthernMaryland uh, league, little
league, um, they have a bunch ofteams out there that give us a

(05:56):
lot of competition and we lostour first game, which is okay.
I always take the elderslessons and yeah.
So I had a month from July toAugust, august to September
pretty much, and I was like man,I got to get away.

(06:18):
My cousin had this, this tripalready planned for I think a
year already and I was just likecontemplating on going.
So I said you know what I'mgoing to go.
So it was Jamaica First time out.
The country that wasn'tmilitary, because normally in
the military you don't need apassport.
Wherever we land, wherever westop, that's where we at.
You know, we've been to Germanya couple times, ireland a

(06:42):
couple times to travel to get toIraq, and man, jamaica was
everything.
Jamaica was everything likeeverything.
What I mean by that is likewhen you land you know you got
to go through customs, and thenI'm walking through the airport

(07:08):
and it looked like one of themairports off Narcos.
Not trying to be funny, butthat's the foreign feel of the
airports, like it's not like theUS airports where it's a bunch
of machines, a bunch of metaldetectors, a bunch of this Like.
No, it's small airports.
The big planes come through,boom.
So get there.

(07:31):
Five days chilling with familyI'm on the adult side we were at
the Hyatt, I was at the HyattZalara, they was at the Hyatt
Ziva, and it was a beautifultime, beautiful time Like.
All-inclusive Food was greatBest lamb chops I've had so far.
You know, of course, the beans, the beans and rice, peas and

(07:54):
rice Jerk, chicken, coconut, ramen, coconut in the pool, in
the ocean.
Every day, though, what I didwas I would wake up, go get
breakfast, but before I woke upI mean after I woke up I would

(08:16):
walk down to the beach and justground myself you know what I'm
saying with the sand, with thewater, water, and just chill and
just embrace, like you know,I'm saying, like, how far I've
came to get to this point rightnow.
Um, and it was, man, sotherapeutic, like water, beach,

(08:36):
all of that, man, this is that'smy thing.
So I, I love the Caribbeanwater Like every day 80 degrees,
about 100% humidity, and thewater was warm.
Everything was just, you know,beautiful.
The people were, thehospitality was great.
Right, I'm having a time in thewater, drinking, drinking.

(09:00):
I drunk so much I stoppedunderstanding, like I didn't
taste anything like, as anythinglike, far as like alcohol.
It was just I don't know whatthey put in the alcohol, but,
hey, I was good and I drunkresponsibly.
So, um, on my way back, I'mlike man, I love this.
I, you know I'm talking to theman upstairs and I'm like yo,

(09:22):
man, I need some more days here.
My dumb self learned a lessonNot to do fly standby.
Do not do a buddy pass when yougo overseas.
That's all I'm going to say.
Don't do a buddy pass when yougo overseas.

(09:49):
And the reason being is youdon't know.
You don't know, uh, if you'regonna get on those flights for
real because so many peopletrying to get back to the states
that, like, you're gonna getbumped to the next flight, to
the next flight, to the nextflight, and at that time
American Airlines Only had threeflights Going out.
When it was time For me to leave, I got bumped From every flight
.
So then it was more Of likeAlright, what do I do?

(10:14):
I got Stuck In Jamaica On myday I was supposed to leave and
the crazy part is I had this.
My boy Mailman was like yo,grab me some, some white henny.
So I said bet, went to the dutyfree, got some white henny.
But not knowing when you getstuck, you got to go back.
You got to go back throughcustoms, down through the

(10:37):
through, there, whatever, andleave the the airport and um, so
before I left I had to checkthe duty-free bag back in, check
that in, come back.
And then I'm like sitting out ina place, pretty much where we
came in, that were all the uhresorts and everybody the
transportation was there and uh,some, some guy walked up to me,

(11:01):
was like hey, man, you can't,you're not gonna be able to stay
here.
You need to ride somewhere, youcan go to a hotel or something.
I'm like bro, why are youspeaking to me in English so
clear like that when are youfrom?
I'm like you're from New York.
He was like man, how do youknow?
I'm like man, I know the accent.
I used to live in Jersey.
So he was like you know, yeah, man, you know I'm living down

(11:22):
here now.
You know my mom taking care ofmy mom and this, this, and that
I'm like all right, that'swhat's up.
He's like.
But look, man, I ain't tryingto be funny or nothing, but they
ain't not going to let you stayhere.
They closed all of this up.
So I'm like, well, all right, cool.
But then I said, hey, is therea place I can go to stay?

(11:47):
You know what I mean?
They said I can't stay here,right.
And she was like, yeah, it'sgoing to close.
I'm like, all right, cool.
She was like you can walkaround.
You just pretty much got to goback to the departure, to the
front of the airport, and youcan chill in there.
So I was like all right, cool.
So got my bag, had to get myluggage too.

(12:09):
By the way, go back, get myluggage, grab my luggage, walk
that all the way around.
I just had a backpack andluggage and my podcast material
because I was supposed tointerview my cousin while we
were there.
They had the scenery, theambiance, everything was
supposed to be.
You know what I mean.
That was supposed to interviewmy cousin while we were there,
to have the scenery, theambiance, everything was
supposed to be.
You know what I mean.
That was supposed to be my nextepisode that I had told
everybody, but we was having toomuch fun.

(12:31):
We was, you know what I mean.
He was taking care of the kids, the kids in the pool, my little
cousins.
So understandable, but we canshoot it when we get here in a
couple days, about 10 days fromnow.
So yeah, so I walk to the front, back to the front, in a
departure um area and it's justme, a lady at the time, it was

(12:56):
just me and the lady, and then aguy and his kids came, so and
then another guy, so like itwasn't just me, um, stuck so
Chilling on this like metalbench Whole time.
Mind you, I got on a tank top.
Now when I was on the resortNever had an issue with no
mosquito, nothing, no bugs, no,anything.

(13:17):
Right, I'm in that airport andthese mosquitoes Are tearing me
up like I'm getting bit, likeleft and right, left and right,
right and uh, stayed overnight,me and the lady, um, her name,
mimi melissa.

(13:37):
I ended up introducing myselfto her because I'm like you
should be stuck.
You know I'm saying introducingmyself to her, and there was
another guy that actually wasfrom DC, um, like stuck too.
So we, you know, I mean weintroduced ourselves or whatever
, and uh, we literally had totake shifts to like take a nap

(13:58):
or something, because it wasjust so much that you know, I
mean, in a normal airport I'mnot used to it, but in in
jamaica there's a lot ofjamaican people just walking in
and out the airport and and thenpeople would sit by your stuff
and and just sit there, don'tsay anything.
So I'm thinking you know mydetroit instincts, buddy, trying

(14:19):
to take this, take my luggage,or try to steal anything from me
.
I'm about to steal off on them, right, or do whatever you know
I'm saying, but he ain't aboutto get my luggage or anything
that I got.
That's my personal belongingsor mimi's, uh, personal
belongings.
So, um, yeah, it was just weirdman, just people walking in
with tools, people walking inasking for do they want, do you

(14:43):
want an airbnb, things of thatnature, uh, so, um, yeah, we we
pretty much took, took shiftsand by the time I woke up before
I woke up, um, shout out toquee, because quee was like hey,
uh, jet blue got a flight thatyou can purchase right now so

(15:04):
you don't have to worry aboutAmerican.
So I popped up, you know, gotmy flight.
So I was ready for the next dayto fly out, because I wasn't
going to fly out.
And shout out to China too, because China the one that got
me the flight to Jamaica, because she works for American
Airlines, my other best friendso Queen and China.
They took the flight to Jamaicabecause she works for America

(15:25):
Airlines, my other best friend.
So Queen and Chyna, um, theytook, they helped out, like they
was like hey, so um, but Chynaalways warned me.
She's like Antoine, I just wantto let you know that you can
get bumped from a flight, so Idon't want you getting upset.
And, uh, because we had anissue coming from New Orleans
one time.
So I'm like all right, cool, sowe next day come.

(15:56):
I'm on a flight, thank God,right, because, like, I missed
the States.
But then it was like man, I needto get me some property.
It don't got to be Jamaica, butsomewhere in the Caribbean I
need to get me some property.
It don't got to be Jamaica, butsomewhere in the Caribbean I
need to get some property.
Because it was so, sotherapeutic man, and I know,
like the, the resort's going tobe different than the actual
Island people, but nah that that, that experience was everything

(16:21):
I needed.
You know what I'm saying Now,fall ball Experience was
everything I needed.
You know what I'm saying Now,fall ball Fall ball has started.
We had one practice, which waslast Friday.
Last Friday was Today's the 9th, 8, 7, 6 the 4th.
Was it the 4th?

(16:42):
Yeah, monday 8th.
Sunday 7th, 5th the 5th.
We had practice on the 5th, hada game on the 6th.
The thing with fall ball that Iwanted to do was pretty much get

(17:04):
the kids in tip-top shape forthe spring is in tip-top shape
for the spring, and by doingthat pretty much, I wanted to
get them to understandleadership.
You know what I mean Leadershipand strengthening conditioning,
because what I've learned frombeing at the Little League World

(17:26):
Series them girls areconditioned, they're conditioned
, they don't.
If it's six innings, seveninnings, eight innings, if it's
tie game, them girls areconditioned, they were
conditioned, and that's what Iwant to get our girls to, but
one practice ain't going to cutit.
I'm just going to be straightup One practice ain't going to
cut it.
We need at least three, threepractices a week.

(17:49):
But it's tough because theparents got to get the kids
there.
It's not the kids' fault.
These kids will practice everyday.
I'm pretty sure if they had theopportunity to, they would
practice every day, because Iknow my kids would.
But it's the parents.
So that's the hard part of uhlittle league is the parents.

(18:15):
They're, they're, they're usedto a a one-day practice.
They used to you know, bareminimum and I and I, just I,
just I'm not bare minimum.
You know what I mean.
So it's hard and shout out tocoach Turk, um, coach Lamont,
for helping me, um coach thegirls all through the year this

(18:37):
past, uh, spring season andsummer season, but now we got
coach Turk and coach Lynn, um,that's going to be helping me as
well for the girls.
So, um, what I, what I learnedand you know I ask around from
some of the coaches that I'vemet, from you know what I'm
saying at the Little LeagueWorld Series and other people,

(18:59):
even my uncle that's a Hall ofFame referee in Michigan.
You know I always got questionsfor him.
So we're going to do practicesa little different.
You know I always got questionsfor them, so we're going to do
practices a little different, you know, and it's learning.
That's the thing I love aboutcoaching is like I'm not bigger
than a program and I'm notdenying myself education on the

(19:24):
sport.
So I'm always open to learning.
I'm always asking questions, even if I know the answer.
I just want to see theirperspective of what's how they
handle a situation or how theyenter a game, how they operate.
You know what I'm saying.
So this year, um, this fall ispretty much is just focusing on
the, the fundamentals.
Getting back to the basics, um,the basics will get you where

(19:50):
you need to go.
Learning those fundamentals.
Um, it is emotional load ofcoaching kids, coaching girls.
It's an emotional load.
But guess what?
I got two daughters.
So I think that's the, that'sthe, that's the, the plus that I
have because I know how to workwith girls and I know attitudes

(20:10):
, because I got a teenager and Igot a soon-to-be 11-year-old,
so that's not a problem.
And then Coach Turk got twins, amir and Amora, and Coach Lynn
has Samaya, and he has a couplemore daughters, older daughters,
and then he has his niece, sosothat's on the team this year
too.
So it's an emotional load.

(20:32):
But just trying to make surethat we're supporting the
players, caring for them andmaintaining your own mental
health while you're dealing withyou know what I mean this not
even with the kids just dealingwith the whole program and the
situations that we dictate.
We're in Southeast man,southeast DC, and we're in a

(20:53):
smack dab hood and shout out tothe Nationals Washington
Nationals for having this NatsAcademy in the neighborhood, and
it's pretty much getting a lotof kids out of trouble.
But I think we're going to begood.
It's good.
It's gonna be tough.
It's gonna be a tough, toughjourney, but I'm okay with it.

(21:14):
I'm used to it.
I'm used to adversity, being amarine, um.
But you know, just stayingpositive, being positive to the
kids, being positive to thecoaches, um, handling pressure
as a coach at a national stagelike that, and, yeah, just

(21:36):
making sure that you know what Imean.
I'm modeling myself to be arole model for these girls and
future kids.
You know what I mean, becauseI'm human too.
You know people make mistakes, kids, you know I mean because
I'm, I'm, I'm human too.
You know people make mistakesand and I think, uh, that's the
the, the gist and the gift oflife.
You know what I mean, likebeing able to adapt and overcome

(21:59):
.
So, um, this is this is, this iswhat I got, got fall ball and
then, um 10 days from now, I gota big milestone in my life,
which is the big 40.
Uh, I know, I don't look it,I'm 25 if you ask me, 25 for the
rest of my life, regardless ofthe grades in the beard, um, but

(22:20):
yeah, my 40th is coming upliterally in 10 days.
It's september 9th.
I'm shooting this right now,tuesday, september 9th.
Shout out to my cousin Octane, his name, atuan too.
Happy birthday, cuz it's hisbirthday today.
Yeah, big 40, four decades ofliving on this earth.
And it's been a journey, man,it's been a journey.

(22:42):
It's been a journey.
I've loved, lost, lost, loved, lost a lot of friends, lost a
lot of people that I thought wasin my corner.
But at the end of the day, noneof that matters.
None of that matters becauseI'm still here and I'm enjoying

(23:08):
life, like I'm literallyenjoying life at the fullest.
You know, you have your rollercoasters in life.
You're going up and down, pause.
You're going up and down theemotional, mental, physical,
spiritual roller coaster.
Now that you know I built thatrelationship with god, I'm still

(23:31):
building, still learning.
I feel like you know, um, thisdecade is gonna be great 30 was,
30 was dope.
Um, 30 was, 30 was, was trying.
Out of all my decades 10, 20,30, 40, 40, coming up 30 was the
most trying.
You know, it's been a hell of ajourney.

(23:54):
You know I'm still on it.
The marathon continues, as Nipwould always say.
Rest in peace to Nip.
But, yeah, 40, I'm lookingforward to it.
I'm looking forward to a lot ofthings In my 40s, you know,
just grateful for the lessonsthat I've learned, the growth,

(24:16):
the resilience that I've builtin my decade, my first four,
first three, going on four, acknowledging my accomplishments
, you know, and my adversities, which helped me, shaped me,

(24:37):
built me and mold me to who I amtoday, like that's been a great
journey for me.
Just learning man, just learning, learning who you are,
understanding who you areGetting therapy.
So now you know I, who you areunderstanding, who you are
getting therapy.
So now you know I'm justredefining success.
You know I'm not disposing, butI'm getting rid of

(25:15):
Relationships that I don't need.
You know what I'm saying.
It's been a trying time,definitely been a trying time
Keeping people around me.
That I know for sure Is with meand not in it for the, for the
perks, uh, not in it for the thetitle.

(25:36):
Just just here around, I gotpeople around me.
Now that's like legit, legit, you know, that's for me.
Um, and yeah, you know, mypersonal evolution is it's still
going, it's still moving, it'sstill authentic.

(25:59):
I'm just me.
You know what I mean.
Like everybody always talk badabout a virgo, but you need one
of us in your life.
At the end of the day, we'regreat people, we're
straightforward, we uh, we'regonna tell it like it is, we're
gonna, but we also, we also havea lot of emotions but at the

(26:20):
same time, we don't act offemotions, we act off logic.
So, as much as emotionalsomeone, some of us, might be,
the logical side of us is goingto always defeat that.
So, just being logic, beingvery analytical with how I move
in this next decade is going tobe great.

(26:40):
Great to look at, great tolearn from, great to recap on
when I get to that fifth decade.
You get me.
So, yeah, man, it's justpreparing myself, you know,
second year as a, as a middleschool head coach, um, we made
to the championship we lost todeal.
But next year we're going to bethe deal breakers If we do end

(27:03):
up meeting, deal.
Um, I wholeheartedly feel thatand I feel like I'm going to
bring a championship to HardyStamp.
That you can mark that.
But that's just confidence.
You know what I'm saying.
We're confident people.
I'm confident, not cocky.
So, yeah, my future outlooks onlife, I would say embracing new

(27:29):
adventures, traveling more outof the country.
One thing about me like I'mgoing to give the opportunity
for people to go with me.
But if you can't go, Iunderstand, cool, I'm still
going, because I went dolo onthat trip, even though my family
I met my family out there Iwent dolo solo.
You know what I'm saying.

(27:51):
I'm single.
So you know I'm exploring newadventures, traveling new
opportunities.

(28:11):
Oh, I got a new tape coming out.
I'm trying to get it out for mybirthday, um, but you know,
dealing with a bunch ofdifferent artists, uh, it takes
time.
So if I can't get the wholealbum out on my birthday, I'm
definitely gonna release like atwo pack or three pack, because
I already got like five, sixsongs already done, um, but yeah
, um, that's coming big 10, 10zeros.

(28:32):
I'm gonna drop five, but that'sthat's what it is.
10 zeros, 10, 10 zeros.
That's the uh music group.
Um, so I don't want y'all toforget that.
Um, new artists on the tape, uh,just a bunch of friends, man,
that I've built relationshipsthroughout my decades of living.

(28:55):
You know, uh, I meet new people, uh, every every month, I would
say, and not every day, but Imeet new people every month and
you know, I got some new artistson here.
That's that's that people neverheard me work with before.
And that's my goal is justworking with artists Some
artists, not with me, no more, that's cool.

(29:16):
I'm still moving, still moving, still working, still grinding.
But, yeah, shout out to Melztoo, because Melz always still
tap in with me.
That's the bro for real.
Mel's started 10-0's with me.
He was there, he's still around.
Even though we don't talk everyday, he's still checking in

(29:40):
with me.
But yeah, future Learningopportunities, new passions I
want to go fishing.
That's one of the goals I wantto do.
Learning fishing again, man, Ihaven't been fishing.
That's one of the goals I wantto do.
Learning fishing again, man, Ihaven't been fishing since I was
a kid, like in my single digits, like eight, nine years old.
You know what I'm saying.
So, learning how to fish, againlearning how to, I'm going to

(30:05):
leave surfing off because, uh, I, my irrational fears is crazy,
so I don't want to, I don't wantto, I don't want to surf.
It's too that ocean's seriousout there.
It's too many things that justbe popping out the water like
that, and I'm good on thesurfing tip.
I'll leave that to somebodyelse.
Um, yeah, uh, fishing, I wantto add.

(30:30):
Oh, playing the piano.
That's another goal I want to.
I want to accomplish this thisdecade.
Um, what else?
Um, oh, building a legacy.
Um, using this decade to buildmy legacy.
Uh, do I want more kids?

(30:51):
Yeah, I do.
Uh, do I have to have more kids?
No, I don't.
I mean, of course, you know, asa man, you, you want, you want a
son, but I mean I just want aboy, just to complete both
genders.
You know, I got a boy and I gota girl, I got girls.

(31:11):
So, but my two girls, man, they've been a hell of an
experience, man, just dealingwith girls and understanding.
They're teaching me how to loveagain.
They taught me how to bepatient again, be calm, and
they're so caring so it's likehaving girls was the best thing

(31:32):
that ever happened to me Bepatient again, be calm, and
they're so caring so it's likehaving girls was the best thing
that ever happened to me, eventhough I did want a boy.
But the girls man, landon andTootie they're the best thing.
They literally keep me goingevery day.
Picking up from school man is mything.
Now watching them play sportsyou know what I mean is crazy.
And being a dad and being ableto coach them and not and not

(31:52):
only coach them, watch them, because I don't coach the travel
team and and I think that's thedope part of just being a
parent man, just sitting therewatching your kids learn and
hearing it from a differentperspective, because they hear
from me all the time and mything is like I don't, I don't
take excuses, but I listen.

(32:12):
You know I'm saying I want tounderstand, like, what made you,
why you swing at that or whyyou didn't swing, or why you,
why you threw the ball here anddidn't throw the ball there,
like you know, justunderstanding their cerebral to
the point where they're creatingtheir own self, like my
daughter, l Lena, playsvolleyball too.
They just won yesterday.
She's killing it, man, you knowwhat I'm saying and my thing

(32:36):
was always putting the girlsfirst.
So, like me and B, we make surethat's what we do.
Even though I went to Jamaica, the girls went to Disney World.
You know what I'm saying andyou know that's our goal, man
just being the great co-parentsthat we can be and pushing our

(32:59):
girls to the next level.
No drama, we ain't doing nodrama.
So, yeah, building my legacy, getting you know, building a
trust, so that my kids would bestraight and the kids' kids
would be straight.
Man, like I'm looking forwardto this next decade, reframing

(33:20):
40, 40 to the new 20, I meangetting older, yeah, the
number's always gonna go up, butI mean the wiser.
I'm looking for the education.
I'm looking for the learningexperience, the experience of
life, the stepping into itmyself, and and again, building

(33:41):
that relationship with God.
You know what I'm sayingKeeping God first, keeping him
first.
Um, and it's been, it's been ahell of a journey.
It still is.
This, this journey is, is great, great.
Um, if I could change anythingfrom my four decades for high

(34:08):
school time, I would have stayedin the band.
Definitely, high school-wise, Iwould have stayed in the band.
I still would have joined theMarines, though I would have
stayed in the band, joined theMarines and worked my way
through the Marine Corps.
Now in the Marine Corps.
I would have stayed in the band, joined the marines and and and
worked my way through themarine corps.
Now in the marine corps I wouldhave went officer.
I definitely would have.
I would have won officerbecause my bro p just seeing him

(34:32):
man and he how successful he'she's been at his young age, um,
definitely would have.
Because motor t man, I lovemotor t, but man, I was a
sergeant for eight years out ofmy 11 years and did everything
recruiting sergeant's course, combat tours and nothing like
still stuck like and seeing thatthe how the world works far as

(34:55):
like going officer route you ina better place when you get out
into the real world and gettinga job.
So I definitely would want anofficer.
And um, what's my third?
My third?
My third is still it's not,it's nothing, I mean my change,

(35:17):
my changes, those would be mytwo for sure.
Staying in the band in highschool while I was playing
baseball and Marine Corps, Idefinitely would have went the
officer route after a certainamount of years.
So, yeah, those would be my tworight now.
Now I'm just, you know, tryingto see what we got now, what we

(35:43):
got next.
The next is, uh, you know, turning 40 isn't the end of the
youth, it's the beginning ofliving with clarity and
intention.
You know what I'm saying.
So, uh, last year my birthdaywas was all about accountability
.
This year is going to be abouta clarity and intention.
I'm dealing with people with, you know, intention, like

(36:04):
friends, family, just makingsure everything is clear, clear
and concise.
I need intentions.
You know what I'm saying theright intentions, not the bad
intentions.
You know what I'm saying.
People know where I'm from.
I don't got to, you know what Imean, be tough.

(36:25):
I'm not the toughest.
I don't got to do all of thatLike.
I'm just trying to live life, smiling, being happy and just
caring about the people thatcare about me and caring for the
people that need help and needcare.
But it's clarity and intention.
So, the big 40.
40.

(36:45):
Clarity and attention.
So the big 40, 40, definitelyjust that's what it is.
Oh, I know what my third is,because I'm looking at it right
now, because finishing mycollege degree in marketing.
I'm literally was two classesaway two plus the capstone from
George Mason to get my degreeand I just got to finish

(37:07):
accounting 300.
And what's the other one?
Accounting and finance, financeand accounting and then a
capstone.
But I'm switching from georgemason to university of maryland
global campus.

(37:28):
So that's my goal.
Um, that's, that's.
That's the third.
Just finishing school.
Finishing school, man, I'venever been a person to not
finish.
Like, whatever I start, I'mgonna finish it.
That's what I do.
Um, I can't be out here half amum, and I got my kids.

(37:52):
You know I'm saying finishingschool is that's the main.
Important part for me is justfinishing school.
So be on the lookout so I canhave my.
I'll be getting my degree andthen possibly going for my
master's, but most of all,that's that's what I'm doing.
I'm literally transcripts isright here on the screen and I

(38:15):
need to send it to umcg I meanumgc, university of Maryland
Global Campus.
But yeah, so appreciate y'all, man, I really do.

(39:20):

motivation.
You know what I'm saying.
They've been super, superinstrumental to me doing this
podcast.
