He is also the grandson of the songwriter behind Elvis Presley’s first #1 hit “Heart Break Hotel”, “Queen Mother of Nashville”, Ms. Mae Boren Axton. I’ve always been a fan of his father’s music and acting, even when I didn’t realize it because of the songs Hoyt wrote for other artist. Think “Joy to the World – Three Dog Night and “The N No Song – Ringo Starr”. So when I saw Matt Axton come across my social media feeds I had to reach out. Matt responded quickly, with “heck yeah let’s do this”. Matt is a fulltime traveling musician with a voice as smooth and rich as his father. Like his dad he also has a wide variety of styles he performs while on the road. He is also a prolific songwriter and host the Tahoe Joy Festival in Tahoe, CA every year.
