The episode begins with Jordo talking about his experience as a filmmaker, how he owned a video production company making advertising spots for some Fortune 100s which gave him the opportunity to learn the generic brand style of advertising. Jordo fell in love with the process of creation but the corporate structure made everything feel like they were moving at a camel's pace.
This made him realize his desire to have more control over how things go so he launched a 3 and a half-year project for a documentary called "Church of Felons" talking about life after addiction. He talks about how he had to market the documentary himself and think of how to get people to consume a particular product.
Throughout this period, he had to learn direct response marketing, how to generate leads and get someone in the theater. Because of that, he realized that the tools available online to do that is very few and hard to use, eventually leading to him starting his own marketing platform, DropFunnels.
