Hey! I’m Daniella, your new Remote Work Bestie.
You might’ve seen me on CNBC, TIME, Buzzfeed, or my blog I Like to Dabble talking about money, side hustles, & remote careers…because I’m pretty obsessed with demystifying & busting open all of the above.
Before I started writing online, I was a software engineer in fintech & I started my career in I.T. & tech about 11 years ago. Because of the nature of my work, I got an early exposure to working remotely back then and I’ve seen it all, before the world went on lockdown & before what we’re seeing now with many companies rallying against remote work.
When I look around at how the panini sped up the evolution of how we work and how we think about work, and then see all of the anti-remote work propaganda that’s now happening in the media as a direct response to employees having “too much freedom”, it makes me pretty mad.
All while CEOs are making on average of 399 times more than their employees with years of record profits and bonuses because they kept their workforce working through a global pandemic thanks to the very thing they’re trying to rally against now - remote work.
Que the side eye. We need to talk about this.
The days of 90s cubicle culture and pizza parties are over.
This is where the podcast comes in. I know I know, it seems like everyone has a podcast these days. But not like this one.
Remote Work Bestie is a podcast here to challenge the traditional 9 to 5, 40-hour work week, and help you navigate a more flexible way of working and living.
Join me every week as I chat with experts and other remote work besties to help you navigate the world of work and money in a non-boring, exposing, weird, and fun way.
We'll talk about everything from finding & navigating remote work, negotiating, managing finances, entrepreneurship, mental health, ethical travel & relocation, and more. We’re also going to get weird and talk about all the strange things we’ve experienced in our working lives, the backwards corporate BS, the things that happen behind the scenes, but also the good things like the people we’ve met and the connections made along the way. There’s nothing off-limits here.
If you're in, don’t forget to subscribe to the podcast so you don’t miss an episode. I would also love it if you could rate and review on Apply or Spotify & share it with your friends. Your feedback will help us reach even more Remote Work Besties who are challenging the traditional way of working.
And with that — See you next week.
