I first met Dean from #otherwordz about two years ago and you could not have got two more different people on Zoom together.  Each of us from different sides of the school playground,  (so to speak) coming together to talk about how we help people.

Dean Lloyd is a passionate social justice advocate and founder of #otherwordz a social movement that understands the power of language. As a result of this moment Dean has also founded Advocate Apparel clothing for people who care.

Dean has a wealth of lived experience from the criminal justice system, public health system and is comfortable talking about his own attempt on his life. Dean has presented abstracts at the 9th International Criminal Justice Conference 2019, The Australian New Zealand Society Of Criminology Perth 2019 and The Reintegration Puzzle in Darwin & Tasmania representing his consulting business Lloyd Consulting Co.

Please ensure you follow #otherwordz Changing the world one word at a time @_otherwordz

and make sure you wear @advocateapparel_ clothing for people who care.

Dean is a passionate human whom I'm  fortunate to have met who also has a passion for changing the world as does my co-host Jess Gaddes.

Join Dean, Jess and myself in this inspiring episode of Removing Addiction and Healing Mental Health, The Mike Carroll Podcast.

Special thanks to our Executive Producer Jared Aviet and VoiceOver by Nathan Gardiner.

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
