So because they had a grad nightadventure, grad venture.
Yeah, grad on grad. Yeah, it was grad adventure.
And these high schoolers, you know?
Not just high schoolers, they had fifth grade, I had 8th

graders, all sorts of people. There's a lot of people, man, a
lot of people. When was the last time you went
to have you, have you ever been to, you know, Universal or like
any of the theme parks here in Florida?
Universal. The last time I was there was
probably 10-15 years ago. Wow.
I've only been there one day andit was because my godmother was
(04:29):
hosting a show there at the timeand it was a nationally
broadcast show. I don't remember the name of it
though. There was a broadcast show.
Yes. Jen, do you know any shows that
are broadcasting, you know, like10-15 years ago, that film, that
Universal? It was like, it was like one of
(04:49):
those talk show kinds of shows. Well, it could have been
anything. The view, it could have been.
Today's show, it could have been.
It could have been like a radio show.
Not likely. Maybe like when like.
No, it was definitely TV 'cause I and the person that was on the
this guest that was on that day was Tracy Morgan.
(05:12):
Probably the Today show. It wasn't the Today show.
It was something. It had a different name.
It was only on for like a year or two.
I'm trying to look it up actually right now.
Because I'm like, there's no waySaturday Night Live was
performing at a Universal. And I don't think that's what he
was trying to say. But Tracy Morgan was in Saturday
Night Live. Yes, but that's not what Uncle
(05:33):
was trying to say. I.
Know I know, but he's trying he's trying to figure out where
what show this was. You know I read some this
happened yesterday. Did any of you guys watch?
Cheers. Yes.
Yes. Yeah, rest in peace, George
went. Yeah, You know, it's funny.
I was actually looking up his IMDb.
Apparently he was in a couple. He was actually in a in a Disney
(05:55):
movie. He's been in plenty of movies.
Yeah, but he was. Always in a a musical on TV with
Jason Alexander called Oh God what was the name of that?
Bye Bye Birdie. He was in Bye Bye Birdie.
He was in Bye Bye Birdie. He.
Was the dad of the female character who sang kids?
What the What's the kids? What's the kids?
(06:18):
Do they kids? You can understand anything they
say. Why don't they sing like me?
Perfect in every way. What's the matter with kids,
dude? Hold on.
I've been coughing for like 3 weeks so sorry not singing the
best. I'm trying, I'm not trying to
see this song. Hold up.
Let's go here. Why can't they be like we went
perfect in every way? Jen, what's the name of the
(06:40):
song? It's called kids I believe.
OK, so is it not guys? I'm play, I'm just gonna play a
little bit of the song. So is it this?
One it's What's the matter with kids today?
I don't know what's wrong with these kids today.
Yes, that's fun. Who can understand anything they
(07:01):
say? But that's not him singing it.
OK, so. That wasn't him singing though.
But he can sing. He could sing.
He. Can sing all right so I'm going
to pull up his IMDb rogue Mr. George went of course you guys
know I'll put in little little clip right here for for you all

(11:30):
Norman, how about a Vietnam? Hey, I'm high on life coach.
Of course, beer is my life. Morning Norm, Where in the heck
have you? Is my watch fast or something?
Sorry and. We had to find it a difficult
evening. Finally I had to tell a coach we
didn't want to see him anymore. It's terrible, even worse than
(11:52):
we feared. Spent half the night arguing
about who was to. Blame you Should Diana.
No. How are you today, Norman?
Oh, as if you cared. Hey, how does it be a sound
(12:18):

chins. Coach, You know everybody.
No, Norman, do you know me, Coach?
I don't know. I had one this week.
What the heck, I'm young. So let's see.
He was in this movie called House.
(13:02):
He was in a strange, strange bedfellow.
He was in that Disney movie called Man of the House.
He was in that movie starring starring Mr. Last Night.
Yeah, I watched that movie. You.
Did. Not knowing that he had passed
away. Really.
So another group that I'm involved in does a movie night
(13:26):
every month and it was the random movie chosen.
And that was a random movie. That was the random movie for
that from this month. Oh my gosh, let's see he was
also in forever young. He was in the the the 1994 film
the little rascals. Let's see space truckers.
He was in the good. He was in a lot of good ish ish
(13:49):
movies and what and what Jen said the 19 the 1995 film bye
bye birdie. He was also Fletch, which is
also actually a pretty good movie too.
I actually like that one. Let's see.
The Climb clipped some Hallmark movies on here, but he was in a.
He was in his own TV show at onepoint.
That's true. Yeah, he did.
(14:10):
He was in a granddaddy daycare, which is I think it was like a
sequel to that. Daddy Daycare.
Yeah. And yeah, he's in a lot of.
He was in a lot of stuff, but hewas also in he was he was a cast
member for Saturday Night Live. And I'll put I'll put a clip
here because he played one of the guys which says he said,
duh, bears. Hello my friends, and welcome to
(14:42):
another edition of Bill Swirsky,Superfan.
I'm Bob Swarski and I want to thank everyone for sending those
cards to my brother Bill, who recently had another heart
attack. We are coming to you live from
Ditka's here on Thanksgiving Day.
(15:03):
A day for giving thanks for or taking punishment from a team
that is known as Stop Bears. Stop, Bears.
Whitney, as always, are the Super fans.
Gentlemen, how was your week? Really good.
Really good. Any heart attacks?
I had one had a couple. Good.
(15:24):
All right, now, as you can tell,we're celebrating Thanksgiving
here at Dickus rather than in our homes.
But it's OK. Our families understand.
Absolutely. This year, the Bears are playing
and Dickus has a 12 foot screen.Of course, there's really no
other place to be. All right, we're getting ready
to watch the Bears annihilate the Detroit Lions.
But first, it's a good time to reflect on our glorious
(15:46):
heritage. And here to help us out with
your annual presentation is the 6th graders over at Saint
Ignatius, led by Tommy Arnold, nephew of our own Pan Arnold.
Look at the bountiful meal the Indians have prepared for us.
Pork chops strip steak cubesa baby back ribs.
(16:08):
Sweet. Garlic butter on a side of.
Home fries. We welcome you to this great
land and look forward to the many games the best will be
playing 300 years from now. In the end, you are so wise.
Please run from your peace pipe and tell us the future Bears. 96
(16:35):
Lions. It's not going to be that close.
That's the halftime school, my friend.
Good Jack, Tammy, Good Jack. Very nice, very entertaining.
But it was not without a seriousmessage on Thanksgiving.
(16:58):
Gentlemen, it's important to remember that there are places,
other places, of course, in thisworld that do not have the
things that we have and take forgranted.
For example, Indianapolis, huh? The Colts terrible team with a
really bad coach really makes you want to shed the tears.
Tears. You OK, Ted?
(17:24):
He's just having a heart attack.I'm looking.
I'm looking. I'm looking.
(17:46):
All right. Excellent.
Good job, Tad. You got to remember to chew
those pork chops, buddy. Relax, OK?
It's a holiday. I hear ya.
All right. Now, gentlemen, if you'll
indulge me a bit, I've got some family here myself.
Like the Bears. She's the winner.
The current miss outside of Chicago, My daughter, Denise
(18:10):
Sworski. Hey, what's up?
Hey. Hey Dad, watching A7 layer
salad. The.
Family party at home. We're proud of you.
Thanks, Denise. Just a few more minutes before
the Bears start kicking some ass, huh?
Some girl, guys, girl. Scat spunk.
You know, she's got a real Mrs. Dicka quality.
(18:32):
Yeah. Hey, Denise, Look how many chops
that polished off. Take a gander.
That's a lot of chops. Yeah.
There's more where that came from.
Hey. Hey, Denise, check out this
scar. Wow, yeah, I got it at a
tailgate party. We were roasting a big pig on
his spit and I got punctured butI didn't miss the kick off.
(18:53):
Hey, that's something. No, Sir.
Hey, Denise, look at this. Rush Street 1986.
After the Super Bowl. I was kicked by a cop horse
trying to pin a Dick a button onit.
Oh yeah. Check out this snack bar Lambeau
(19:15):
Field. I was scalded by the cheese of a
flaming hot Nacho. Now that's my kind of guy.
Maybe you'd like to come here and back that up.
Hey, hey, hey. Hey, Tad.
Easy, pal. Come on now.
That's my daughter. Hey, don't make me go over there
(19:35):
and inflict some damage Bucka style.
Hey, she's a grown up woman. Hey, Tad.
Tad, come on, you got a wife at home.
Think about that. You're not worth this.
Almost ready, Todd. So that you can fully enjoy
(19:59):
tuning into the bears. I'm sure they're going to kick
ass, darling. They're the best.
But you know something? You're my Dick.
My dicka, my dicka, my dicka. I'm her dicka, I'm her dicka.
(20:21):
I'm sorry, Denise, it's just notgoing to work out.
Let's just say I'm a very lucky man if you ever change your
mind. You know where to find me, huh?
Well, that's good to know. All right, you 2 enough.
OK, We're all very lucky here. And that's the real message of
this holiday season. So let's all join in the
Thanksgiving prayer. The prayer we thank Dick and God
(20:48):
for all they have provided, for the food we eat dear, we
breathe, and for the domination enjoyed by a certain team from a
certain town that hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, the game start.
All right, all right, all right. We'll get back to that during a
commercial. Enjoy the games folk direct from
(21:16):
the world famous Ditka's restaurant in the heart of
Chicago. Please welcome George Wendt and
from Saturday Night Live, Chris Farley and Robert Smigel.
Hello my friends, and welcome again to Bill Schwarzky.
Super fans, I'm Bob Swarzky, sitting in for my brother Bill,
who recently had another heart attack hit me.
(21:38):
As always, are the Super fans Karl Walorsky.
Hey Bab, we got Tad, Tad. O'Connor here.
How are you, Bob? Real good.
All right, we are talking to youlive here from Ditka's
Restaurant in Chicago, IL. The city had a big shoulders and
(22:00):
home to a certain team which is raining high and mighty over at
NBA Falls. A team that is known as the
Balls. The balls.
All right. As you fans may know, many
athletes like Victus and ours isno exception for our very
(22:22):
special guest tonight is Mr. Michael Jordan.
Michael, I want to welcome you to the show.
Just want to say we're very excited to have you here and
where I to permit myself to haveany human emotional display.
(22:44):
I would be on my knees right now, weeping at your feet.
That's. Right.
So would I. All right, let's get this guy
shut up here. What are you having, Michael
Coke? Gatorade.
How about the water please? Ah Lake MI A very a very helpful
(23:09):
and diplomatic choice my friends.
I say he needs to catch up a little bit.
Give him five bears. 5 Bears. 5 Bears.
Now, Michael, I know the boys. They have a lot of questions.
So let's get started, gentlemen.Yeah.
Michael, I was wondering now when was the decision made to
(23:33):
throw the first game to the Lakers?
I mean, that that was that was good credit to you.
So absolutely, we just lost the game, straight up.
Come on. What?
(23:53):
It's a very sporting answer of you, Michael.
Seriously. Now, who decided?
I mean, honestly? I mean, we just lost the game,
right? You missed that jumper, right?
Perfect. Come on.
The Lakers, a great team, Magic Johnson, great play.
All right, please do not embarrass Magic Johnson any
(24:15):
further by trying to put him in your class.
You too. Please.
Please. You'll throw in different
leagues. Absolutely.
The league is full of great players.
Look at Magic. Look at Isaiah.
Hold it right there. Now, wait a SEC.
(24:35):
Hold it right there. Now the last time we saw those
two guys are kissing each other at half court for the kiss.
Please. Can.
We talk about something else. Please all.
Right, All right, we'll shift gears, shift gears back to the
Lakers series. Like, who's got a question?
(24:58):
All right, Yeah, Michael, did your team at any time offer to
play just four guys against their five?
Because that might have made it more competitive?
No, it never happened. All right, well, next year you
might want to consider it because otherwise you might get
bored. Now, you are a fine looking man,
(25:18):
Michael, but you really do not look like a Chicagoan.
Now you might want to take a a clue from Coach Dick.
There we go. There we go.
There's a well drummed man. Yeah, look at that.
Now, Michael, there's no reason that you cannot look just as
good. What do you think?
(25:52):
I don't know what what do you think Michael?
What or what out? I like that hair.
Let's just say come next to onlyone team during 2 championship
rings and announcing they're going to Disney World and that
team shall be named double. Good afternoon, my friends, and
(26:30):
to fans of a certain team known as the New York Knicks.
Now, to fans of a certain team known as the New York Knicks,
we're bad. King Jordan has returned New
(26:50):
York. Go cry in your crack pipes.
As you know, I'm Bob Swarski. With me, once again are the
Super fans that O'Connor dabbles, Carl Walarski dabbles,
and of course, Pat Arnold. Very good, Pet.
(27:13):
Very nice. Yes, our fans.
No. We've been off the air since the
day Michael Jordan retired from hoops.
No reason to go on. No, there wasn't.
But Pet, some of our viewers mayhave noticed that you've put on
a little weight since that last show.
Yes, I have, Bob. But when a Michael Jordan is
taken away, sometimes the all a man has to turn to her is cheese
(27:35):
fries. Well put.
Amen. As for myself, I have been
asleep since MJ retired. Like a bear, I hibernated in The
Cave that is my rec room. Haven't missed much, my friend.
For example, baseball went on strike.
There was no World Series. What have been the Cubs here?
(27:55):
What else? OJ Simpson killed a couple of
people. Well, no surprise there,
technically. You know, since he played in
Buffalo, he'd be a New Yorker, right?
Yeah, technically. OK What else happened?
Oh, you know that Saturday NightLive show?
It got way worse. Oh, yeah.
(28:17):
It's just sad. They got that fat guy screaming
all the time. Come on, pull the plug on that
freaking thing, huh? They ought to move it to
Chicago. They get smart.
No, no, no. Well, let's talk about happier
(28:37):
things, gentlemen. Tuesday night, Michael and
company head for New York. Any predictions?
I think they match up all defensively against the Knicks.
Bulls three O 7, New York 1. All right, now, with all the
excitement about Michael's return, a lot of the Bulls
merchandise is flying off the racks.
And here to show us some of his hot new items for your kids is
(29:00):
today's special guest, our good pal and Todd's cousin Erwin
Mainway. There's some man.
Hey, how you doing? Hey, how you doing, Bob?
How you doing? Real good.
Doing real good. Erwin, you've been in the
business now 25 years. You've been selling toys.
(29:21):
You ever seen this much excitement?
Nah, that says Todd. Here, kiss the girl.
All right, that's enough of that.
We have fun. But for real, this sounds just
gone ape third over the bulls, huh?
The bulls, right. I write that bulls.
Yeah. That's terrific.
You know, the whole Michael Michael thing.
(29:43):
Yeah, it happened pretty fast. You know, we didn't have a lot
of time at the main way toys to come up with a lot of great
merchandise, but I think we got some really, really good stuff
for the kids. I mean, really outstanding.
I'm very happy. All right.
And I know your company's been criticized in the past for, you
know, some unsafe or shoddy toys, you know, No, no, no, no,
no. I never heard about that.
All right, let's look at this stuff.
(30:04):
First of all, we got at the number 45 home tattoo kit.
Yeah, okay, here we go. As you know, MGA changes number
to 45 from whatnot, so naturallythe kids everywhere going to
want to have a tattoo with a newnumber.
So you get your tattoo needles right there and it comes with
(30:25):
two inks, red and black, plus a little 45.
It's a little sign that I remind, you know, I split
charge. That kid won't hurt himself for
the needles. Are you kidding me?
Kids never played with needles before.
They keep cutting that left. You know, kids, the middle name
is Needle for Grant out loud, right?
I don't know there when I don't know.
I mean, look, any kid who can't handle this is, you know, he's
(30:46):
not going to be like Mike. I pay that right now.
Better they find out early rightthey have a lot of heartache
right daughter, you know it doesit's 9995 all right let's look
at this next one here. I don't quite get this one.
This is a racket shoes and what's not to get?
I mean, come on. And all these kids, they they
(31:07):
want to like, you know, fly likeMike, right?
They want to fly like Mike. So I love him when he jumps and
whatnot. He jumps, right?
So nice babies here. You know, they work like kind of
a kind of a thing, you know, it's kind of light up the a
rocket. I'll break it open like the
rocket, light it up and shoot tothe moon.
(31:27):
Hey, I'm Michael. I'm on the moon.
Everybody looks like ants from up here, right?
Yeah, but everyone knows are just Rd. flares you're using
there. Hey, come on.
Come on. Use your imagination.
Come on. You like the shoe in your dream?
Hey, I'm Jordan. I'm flying around.
Imagination, right? All right, we got 100 bucks even
(31:50):
we got one more be a Jordan head.
What's this? Oh, this is good.
This guy like the team came up with this, says OK, all the kids
doubt at Mike's back, right? MM, right.
All they want is no hair look, but you don't want to go to a
Barber because those guys are nuts.
I mean, upset her. So you give yourself a Jordan
head. I mean, it's more fun to come to
your own home, take the blade, shave it around your head.
(32:13):
Bingo. You Jordan.
I don't know when this one seemskind of dangerous.
Sure. Dangerous.
Of course, A little dangerous. I got that covered.
I'm back in the toy right here. It is a warning label.
See. It says warning.
You'll be careful with that. And it's just you, right?
300 bucks Dad, you're OK with your cousin stuff here?
(32:39):
Of course he is his daughter, right?
He's course dad. What do you say?
I think that just having a heartattack.
Hey, Kappa. Yeah, sure.
Have a heartache. Yeah.
Yeah. Good timing time.
(33:01):
OK, you guys got me. Hey.
Hey. What's this now?
Hey, guys. I'm Brian Dennehy.
I I've been asked to come in here and help set the record for
most fat guys in a single sketch.
(33:35):
So that's what. That's the little club right
there. So anyway, while we were waiting
for Nicole and Jimmy to jump on UNK UNK and Jen, I got a game
for you guys. I guess it's the same game that
you guys played with with mags with mags.
Yeah. But this one is a little bit,
this one's be a little bit different, OK.
He couldn't figure out. The game.
(33:56):
He couldn't. Before you start the game, I
found out the show it was calledI Village Live I.
Village Live OK, I didn't never heard of it.
I need to find a YouTube clip ofthat.
I need to watch that and see it.It was filmed at.
Universal It was filmed at Universal.
It was filmed whichever park hasthe Hulk ride.
Oh. Islands of Adventure.
(34:17):
So it was filmed down the eight islands of adventure.
That's cool, that's cool. That's the only ride I remember
riding as well that day was the Incredible Hulk coaster.
Did you like it? From what I remember, yes.
But I like rides, so yeah, I liked.
It well, are you are you excitedabout tomorrow, which is the
grand opening of Epic Universe? I'm excited for people that want
(34:42):
to go to it. I'm a Disney purist, so I like
spending my time at Disney. Just like, just like Jen and I,
we love going to Disney. I like Universal too, and I
really do want to go to Epic at one point, but I'm in a Disney
kind of frame lately, yeah. All right, so are you guys, you
guys ready? Sure.
OK, so, so pretty much what we do is I'm gonna give you guys
(35:03):
I'm. I'm gonna give you guys a clue
and I'm also gonna give you the MPH of this attraction.
So the theme parks that you guysare going with are going to be
these attractions will be located at Walt Disney World,
Universal Studios, and also somerides over at SeaWorld.
Now I did put some this is a bitof a challenge.
So if you guys need another clue, I'll give you that clue as
(35:25):
well. So you guys know where exactly
this attraction is. If you guys know it, just say
your name or if you guys want towork together, work together as
a team. All right, so here we go.
The first one is, well, first ofall, this this attraction.
This attraction goes 50 mph. It's a train lost in time, but
not really a train at all. You'll find disco lighting, but
(35:48):
no party. I'm thinking it's probably
Guardians of the Galaxy. It's not Guardians.
OK. The crane, a train lost in time,
but not really a train at all. You'll find this gold one.
You'll find disco lighting but no party if you guys see
another. This is a Back to the Future.
It is not Back to the Future. Do you have any other hint?
(36:11):
I mean, yeah. This attraction is This
attraction is located at Animal Kingdom.
It's still around. Oh yeah, Everest.
There it is, Everest. Oh, I've been on that.
And you don't like it? You don't.
Like it? I didn't hate it.
I didn't dislike it, it was justI was scared of it at first.
You were scared. We just.
I wasn't into riding roller coasters at the time and I had
(36:33):
just started getting into it. You.
Going, Sir. No Obie.
He's fine, leave him alone. That was kind of cute, though.
That was cute. All right, so here's here's your
next attraction. This attraction goes 65 mph slow
(36:58):
kid at Islands of Adventure. And this riot ends with a
fireball, but starts with a deadpan joke.
It's at islands. Yep.
Is that Islands of Adventure? And it ends with a fireball.
It ends with a fireball, but starts with a deadpan joke, and
this attraction is based on based on Harry Potter.
Oh, it's Hagrid's. Hagrid's Yep, it is Hagrid's all
(37:21):
right, a nice one. This, this, This attraction is
located at Hollywood Studios. 57mph.
You launch into the fast lane because your record label is
running late. Rock and roller coaster.
There it is, rock and roller coaster.
All right, Aerosmith is taking the stage.
Whoa, check out Steven Tyler's hat.
(37:42):
OK, LA, crank it up because we're getting ready to rock on
this exclusive live broadcast. We
(38:02):
only just getting started. All right, here we go.
(38:33):
Well, this one is located at Universal Studios 45.
Apparently, this ride goes 45 mph.
You were in the Movies, Now you're watching your car get
split. Fast and Furious.
There it is, fast and furious. My least favorite ride on Earth.
I think, I think that's everybody's.
I think that is everybody's least favorite attraction of
(38:53):
overall Universal Studios. Yeah.
Like if you ever go back like the Universal, like on the
family, family vacation, I'm telling you, man, just don't,
don't go on this ride it, it sucks.
I mean, this, this whole attraction replaced earthquake
and disaster. And a friend of ours, he
actually helped make that make that attraction.
(39:15):
And it sucks. It, it just really sucks.
All right, so let's where, whichone am I in right now?
Oh, oh, OK, here we go. This one this this attraction
goes 10 mph is located at AnimalAnimal Kingdom You you drop into
the unknown while floating through a bioluminescent river.
(39:40):
That would be the. It's the one that's based on
the. The people are blue.
Yes, I know. I'm trying to think of the name
of it. It's it's the well you, it's the
boat ride that. Well, I mean you, you and uncle
working as a team so. It has to do with that one
movie, that John or James. James Cameron.
(40:00):
Cameron made in the ad. He has two movies that were
based on these people that were blue and I can't think of the
name of it. Avatar.
Avatar the Water ride. Avatar water ride.
I can't think of the name of theAvatar water ride.
But you don't, you don't know name of it.
No, I can't think of the name ofit.
You don't know the name of it. Not at the top of my head.
(40:21):
It's based actually. This one is based on a broken
animatronic that Disney spent over $3,000,000 to build it and
this thing is broken. OK, so $3,000,000 animatronic.
OK, and that doesn't help me fight figure out the name.
OK, I'll just put it this way. It's a it's a RIP off version of
(40:42):
It's a Small World. Still doesn't tell me.
Help me figure out the name of it.
All right, so Navi. Navi.
There we go. Navi.
There we go. What?
Was that? Let's put some music in the
background for for for the game.So there we go.
All right, So, yeah, it was Navi.
(41:02):
Yeah. Navi River Journey at Animal
Kingdom. All right, this one, this
attraction is over at Epcot. All right, You are flying at 65
mph. You're testing safety systems,
but really you're whipping through hairpin turns.
Test, track. Test track.
(41:23):
Yeah. Alright.
This ones at this attractions atSeaWorld.
Alright, 42 mph. Beware of Atlantis, this boat
ride gets real splashy near the end.
Say that one more time. Beware of Atlantis, this boat
ride gets real splashy near the end.
(41:44):
Where is it? SeaWorld.
It is Journey to Atlantis. Journey to Atlantis is correct.
Nicely, nicely done. Let's see what else we have.
OK, so the next one is this one is at Islands of Adventure.
You're inside a volcano and somehow a Raptor shows up.
(42:05):
Velocicoaster. There it is.
Velocicoaster OK, this one's at Epcot Technical.
Technically, this ride does go 40 mph.
Your rocket launches backwards through the stars.
No chicken exits allowed. Where is this?
Epcot. Guardian.
Guardian. Guardian, yeah, Guardians Cosmic
(42:25):
Rewind, which I I love that rideactually, I really I really
enjoy going to that attraction I've been on it five Times Now
sad it it breaks my heart that for for it just hurts me so much
that my lovely my lovely wife, she cannot go on that ride
because. I have back issues.
That's because of her back issues.
(42:45):
But Jen, you. And plus I'm I get so horribly.
Motion sickness, yeah. Like I can do certain rides, but
I just like I, I can do Rise of the Resistance, I can do things
like that, but going on roller coasters anymore is kind of bad.
I wouldn't want to damage my back worse.
That's the only reason why I don't go on them anymore.
(43:07):
What sucks 'cause I was really starting to get into it.
While getting into roller coasters.
I know you were. I know that's what we got here.
So you guys did get Gardens of Galaxy, correct?
All right, here's the next one. This one is actually one of my
favorite rides, and I had the opportunity to go on at the
other day. So this ride goes 35 mph.
You enter a sound stage and become the main course at a
(43:29):
tropical dinner party, say. That one.
More time you enter a sound stage and become the main course
at a tropical dinner party. Where is this?
Universal and actually went on this ride before I went on this
ride before we left, before we left Universal.
The Mummy. The mummy.
Yeah. All right, So this one, believe
it or not, this is a this is this is an attraction that is no
(43:53):
longer at the Magic Kingdom. This extinct attraction featured
lava lasers, teleportation gone wrong.
Stitches. Great escape.
Not stitch. Then oh, what was it?
Alien encounter. There it is, alien encounter.
Alien encounter. That thing freaked me the hell
(44:13):
out when I was when I used to, yeah.
I think it freaked everybody. I think it freaked everybody
out. It was the whole breathing on
your neck thing that that. Yikes.
All right, here we go. This attraction is over at
SeaWorld. Inspired by the fastest shark in
the ocean, this ride gives you airtime so intense it feels like
(44:34):
you're flying off the reef. Say that one more time.
Inspired by the fastest shark inthe ocean, this ride gives you
airtime. So Mako.
Yep, there it is. All right, the next one is that
Magic Kingdom, a classic coasterthat spins you, drops you, and
helps you scream at the moon. Space Mountain.
(44:55):
Not space. Space bound does not spin you
around, but this one kind of does.
But it in a way it makes you feel like it spins, but this
one's actually swinging. And this is Magic Kingdom.
This is a Magic Kingdom. It's in Fantasyland, and it's
pretty much based on, you know, Walt Disney's very first
animated film. Oh then it's 7 dwarfs mine
(45:16):
train. There it is. 7 Yeah, 7 dwarfs
Mine Train. Yep.
All right, this attraction is over at is.
Oh, it's over at Universal Studios.
OK, so an extinct. An extinct.
It's not extinct, right. It's still there.
This ride every every adventure ended with the same phone home.
ET. There it is, ET.
Yeah. It's not extinct, it's still
(45:37):
there. No, it's still.
There, we were there on Friday. It it's still there.
But we didn't go on. We didn't go on it, you know,
even though it was a 5. It was 100° outside.
It was a 5 minute wait though. I know and it would have been
fine. Alright, this one's that animal
Kingdom. Alright, you must survive a
prehistoric journey, but it's the countdown that gets you.
Countdown to extinction. There it is, dinosaur, the one
(45:59):
that. The one.
The one that you do not like, honey.
Literally, you haven't. You probably never heard the
story. I Remy and I went on dinosaur
once. We went with a couple friends of
ours, our friends one night and we went all, you know, all
throughout, you know, animal Kingdom and everything.
And the one thing that he wantedto walk or to go on was
(46:20):
dinosaur. And I think I've maybe been on
it once, if I've been on it at all.
And I went on it that time and it made me so physically I'll
that he wanted to call the ambulance to come and get me.
It was, I could barely walk out.I was, it was a struggle to walk
the entire thing because it literally made me me go into an
episode with condition that I have and literally made me want
(46:43):
to pass out. Wow.
And it was so bad. It was it it hurt my neck.
It was like it was not a good, it was not a good time for me.
Yeah, I had. So he was like, do you want me
to call the call? Call them so they can get the,
the hot, you know, get an an ambulance for you.
Do I need to call somebody to like take you?
Because I was not physically, itmade me so nauseous to even
walk. Like I was having a hard time
(47:04):
walking to the car because afterthat I was like, I can't day, I
can't be here anymore. I have got to go home and lay
down flat. It was.
It was bad. Do you?
Do you enjoy going on a dinosaur?
Do you like that ride? Yeah, yeah.
So my dinosaur ride or ride story is my grandparents would
go with us when I as I was growing up and my grandpa
(47:28):
doesn't do big, doesn't do ridesvery much, but there's certain
ones we he would ride well, he always would ask us like when
we're going to this one, is thisone fast or bumpy or anything
Like no, it's you'd love this ride every time you ride it and
every time we talked him into itand every time we get cussed at
after the ride because he was not happy.
(47:52):
We tricked him. Again, that's not right.
We knew he could handle it. He just and it was.
It's just the bumpiness. He doesn't.
Like, yeah. I mean, it's not that bad of a
ride though. I mean, I, I like it.
I. Like it but you don't have
issues like I do when that's. True, that's very.
(48:13):
True things. It like literally set me off.
All right, so apparently Mike and Jimmy are not going to be on
this episode with us tonight. If Nicole, like I said, if
Nicole does show up, she'll comeon.
She'll do her little segment. But you guys got us tonight.
You guys do have myself on his Remy.
We have unk and Jen as well. So we're going to keep we're
(48:34):
going to keep going with this game and then we'll finish up
the we'll finish up the episode with the latest theme park
update. OK, so this one is over at
SeaWorld Orlando, and this is actually one of my favorite
attractions to go on. I used to work at this
attraction. You must about I'm sorry.
You meet AC monster, enter a lost temple and get soaked along
(48:57):
the way, which you used to you used to because these had this
water effect and you got pretty you got pretty wet, but it's
based on a sea monster. That's a clue.
Is it? Cracking.
It is cracking. Yeah.
All right. So this one, it's at it's over
at Universal Studios, which Jen,I went on this ride actually,
when we're in that little, when we're when we were in that
(49:20):
little area of Universal and youwanted to get something to
something cold to snack on, but you get you get roasted, toasted
and launched out of a castle. I'm sorry, that's not right.
You get launched out of a bank. Oh, it's grain gods.
It is grain gods. That's right.
All right, so this one, it's an extinct ride.
It was Jaws dropping before it disappeared for a wizard.
(49:44):
Jaws, it was Jaws. Yeah.
Yeah, it was Jaws. And I might bring back that.
I might have to bring back that little script again.
No, you don't. Ohh, I might All right.
This one's over at this one is over at Hollywood's Hollywood
studios. You become a toy and plastic
moves fast in the right hands is.
(50:06):
It Midway or Toy Story Mania? It is not Toy Story mania.
Say that one more time. You become a toy, and plastic
moves fast in the right hands. Here's the other clue.
This was a Woody's Pet Slinky. Slinky.
There it is. All right, so you know what?
We're gonna just get that one because it's gonna be hard, All
(50:28):
right? This comedy show where bugs bite
back. Thank God it's gone, but bugs?
Tough to be a bug, yeah? Now, unlike why would you say
that? Why?
Why? Why would you say that, man?
I hated that show. I hated that show.
I hated that show. You care to elaborate on that?
I just never liked it. I would let my family go and I
(50:50):
would just hang out during that.I would refuse to go and see
that show. OK, well generally do you like
that show or do you like it to do or did you hate it?
It was one of my favorites in Animal Kingdom.
I mean, you know, I didn't hate it.
You didn't hate it, but you werelike.
No, I liked it you. Didn't like it.
I, I, I didn't like it at first when I was little because I
actually went during the ground,I went there for the, the grand
(51:14):
opening of that attraction when Animal Kingdom first opened back
in, back in 99. And it was me, my dad, my mom,
my cousin, my uncle and my, my mom goes, hey, do you want to,
do you want to cut school today and go, go to a theme park?
I'm like, yes, we went to, we went to Disney's Animal Kingdom.
And my dad's friend, he was a during that, during that time he
(51:35):
was a, he was a musician for, for Animal Kingdom, because back
then they had like live music playing.
And he got all of us in. And the first, the first thing
we did was that show we did. It's tough to be a bug.
And I think, I think the one part I didn't like the I didn't
like was Hopper's scene. But then as I got, but then as I
got older, I'm like, you know what?
(51:56):
I like this movie. I'll go see the show.
I'll see what's all the fusses the fuss is all about.
I watched it. It was cool.
I I I I I'm sad as going away but.
Went away, already gone. It's already gone.
It's gone. Bye bye.
But I but I am looking forward to go see the new show based on
a Zootopia. So looking forward to that one.
That's going to be that's going to be awesome.
(52:17):
All right, so let's see the next1 is OK.
This one is extinct. It's a water.
It was a water ride that soaked you while a mischievous rabbit
escaped danger. Splash Mountain.
Splash Mountain, there we go. All right, so this one's that.
This one is at Hollywood Studios.
You ride. You ride an elevator or maybe
(52:38):
just fall down a few stories instead.
Tower of Terror. Tower of Terror.
It's wild, it's wet, and it's a raft ride named for a tribe.
Named for a fight Kali Kali River Rapids.
Kali River Rapids. Yeah, OK.
A a flying dinosaur gives you the feeling of becoming prey,
and this one's that. Also adventure.
(53:00):
It's the, it's the Kitty one. Pterodactyl.
Yeah. Yeah, Petrodon Flyers, you see
the next one is this one. This one was actually one of my
favorite rides to go on and I had a four add the I had the
pleasure of actually working at this attraction during a scene.
And this one was at MGM Studios,Hollywood Studios.
(53:22):
You travel through four different movie sets.
Also, the line takes an hour. Backlog tour.
No, not the backlog tour. You travel through four
different movie sets. Also the line takes an hour,
which sometimes it did take almost an hour to get onto this
attraction. Like no, no idea.
Bugsy Wizard of Oz Indiana JonesWe did a.
(53:45):
The We did a great movie ride. The Great.
Movie ride, yes. We just we did like a thing on
this with mags. We did.
We did with mags. OK, this is actually a brand new
attraction. Join Mario and friends for a
race through augmented reality. This is the Mario Kart in
Bowsers castle, yeah? Bowser's challenge yeah, all
(54:09):
right. And I got the last two are real
are here and that is a a boat ride with frozen frozen fun and
Norwegian trolls. Of course I give you of course I
give it away. It's frozen.
The last one is you know what I'm just going to give it to you
guys. It's that Epcot and this
experience let's let's you fly over continents.
(54:29):
Soren, Soren, there you. Go Yeah.
Well, you guys are good. You guys did a great job on that
little game. And you know what, Jen, I think
it's time not for us to get up on out of here.
But before we go, guys, it's time for the latest theme park
updates. This is breaking news.
It's now time for the latest theme park updates brought to
(54:52):
you by the Magic Candle Company.Go get a candle and enjoy the
latest theme park updates right now on Remy's Roundtable.
Take it away, Remy. All right, so we are heading.
We are heading over. Like I said, tomorrow is the
grand opening for Epic Universe.Good evening and welcome to the
(55:16):
Universal Epic Universe Grand opening celebration presented by
Xfinity. We are feeling all the feels.
We are live inside the park. And after years of anticipation,
it's finally here. I'm Layla Lawrence.
I'm Lauren Eppenhower. And I am Patrick Dougal, and
tonight you're getting an All Access pass, the most ambitious
(55:37):
theme park Universal has ever created, and we are thrilled to
take you along for the ride. That's right, we have an
incredible night ahead. I'm talking celebrity
interviews, deep dives with the creative teams who built these
incredible worlds, exclusive content premieres, giveaways
happening live in the chat, and and a few surprises.
We're not. Allowed to spoil yet?
(55:58):
And we're not doing it alone. Out on the celestial blue carpet
is our correspondent to the stars, Shovit Jane.
He's catching up with celebrities, Universal VIPs and
some familiar faces from across the NBC Universal family.
Thanks, Leila. Hi, everyone.
My name's Shovit. It's like showbiz with AT and
(56:19):
and today we are here with Mark Woodbury, Chairman and CEO of
Universal Destinations and Experiences.
Mark, how are you feeling tonight?
What's going through your head? It's just a spectacular night,
but a great evening, beautiful Florida sunshine, the
culmination of an 8 year journeythat involves the most creative
(56:41):
people in the entire world, the greatest amount of innovation,
the most technologically advanced theme park we've ever
created, and a spectacular addition to our Universal
Orlando resort. This really changes everything
for us. It changes our position in the
marketplace. It changes how people experience
a theme park, how they experience live entertainment,
(57:02):
how they'll see Dragons and Mario and Harry Potter and
Universal monsters. He really changes everything.
Now it truly does. This is a game changer.
And I've got to ask, given your long history working with
Universal destination experiences on a number of huge
projects, where does tonight rank in your career?
Big I'm often asked, you know what, what is my favorite
(57:24):
attraction and I my typical answer for that is the next one
and this is the next one. And so you know, there's just no
comparison to it. It embodies everything that we
have developed over certainly my35 year history with the
company. Technologically, creatively, it
all comes together here. It truly does.
And you know, I was speaking to someone from Universal Creative
(57:44):
and they mentioned that you'd mapped out the map of Universal
Epic Universe on a napkin. Now I got 2.
Questions. Is that true and can I get that
napkin? I, I think that's true.
And I don't know where that napkin is quite honestly, but
you know, everything starts witha clean piece of paper and then
this is no different. You know, we, we, we tried to
(58:05):
figure out how is it that we're going to transform our great
resort at Universal Orlando intoa full week destination.
We knew we did in another park and we knew in making that park,
it had to be not just complementary to the great stuff
we had done, but extraordinary in its own right.
It's really started the whole journey.
It's very extraordinary for sure.
So I Speaking of extraordinary. I got to.
(58:28):
Experience Universal Epic Universe for the first time at
night during our team member previews.
And I remember walking by you and you had the biggest smile on
your face seeing the reactions of guests.
So now I'm curious, what was your reaction seeing the park
for the first time as a guest? Well, I don't think that smile
is left since that night. You know, when you, when you
(58:48):
work on something like this, andI know I can speak for an entire
team, whether the creative team, the operating team, the
technical teams, you, you work so hard on it, you really leave
a piece of yourself into work. It's almost like a part of you
is left behind and you get that piece back.
When you see the smiles on people's faces when they come
in, when they cross through those portals and you see the
(59:09):
awe on your face that just you get it back.
And and so that's just part of what we do.
I mean, looking around here, there are smiles on everyone
else, everyone's faces, my face included.
We're all so happy to be here, so let's quickly have some fun.
I got some couple of questions, all right?
What's your favorite Hogwarts house?
Well, I think I'm a hippogriff, so I'm going to go with that.
(59:31):
All right. And are you a front row person
or a back row person on a rollercoaster?
Totally front row all the time. Amazing.
Same here. Same here.
And final question. Final question, I know you said
that your favorite attraction isalways the next one and this is
the next one, but tell me what is your favorite attraction in
the Universal Park? It's definitely the next one.
(59:54):
Park OK. Well, thank you so much for
joining me. I hope you have a great rest of
your night. Thank you.
Amazing. Thank you so much, Shoba, and
thank you to Mark. Now we'll be back to the blue
carpet, but we'll also be visiting all 5 worlds of Epic
Universe tonight, from the mystery of Dark Universe to the
color adventure of How to Train Your Dragon, Isle of Burke and
(01:00:15):
beyond. There she is.
Another day of adventure and discovery.
(01:00:39):
I look forward to hearing the stories of your journeys thus
far in this world and the world's beyond the corals, you
explorers following the footsteps of some of our most
famous celestians. Like Vincent Berry, who was born
with an insatiable wanderlust and a deep curiosity for the
inner workings of the world's around him.
(01:00:59):
He would say the only way to discover new things is to say
hey, curious or Maya of the skies, an intelligent and
fiercely determined explorer says that when the the entire.
Universe. Becomes our playground.
Within this universe, though, there are also dark Worlds.
(01:01:20):
Worlds that require you to be brave and to face your own
fears. Now it is time to enter a portal
to another world. The village of Dark World awaits
and the monsters with the name from restless in anticipation
with sun and stars, the moon andtime, the corona spins and world
salons. For if you seek with curious
(01:01:42):
heart, you're calm is true and stars to chart beyond this gate
by catapult Mystic full of monsters and the secret state.
(01:02:07):
Fireman, I see you all after you.
Good. Good.
(01:02:28):
The Doctor will be here in just a moment.
And you 3 Don't touch anything or anyone.
Frats. Frats welcome.
There's so many more. Excellent work.
I am Doctor. Victoria Frankenstein today.
(01:02:56):
You chosen few, will witness my greatest discovery yet, and
together. We will finish what my great,
great grandfather. Started Did you know?
They called Henry a monster. They were afraid of what he had
done. But you will see there is
nothing to fear now. Now.
These people are friends. Yes, friends, see, there's
(01:03:24):
nothing to be afraid of. He is amazing, better than the
original. They all are.
For years I have studied and controlled the monsters that.
Found the darkness, now only one.
Remains I thought you all to themanners bear witness.
To my ultimate. Challenge the last Jesus, your
(01:03:47):
help. The world will never see the
name crack. It's time to.
Shine again. This victory isn't holding us
away. Bring these people to the cat.
I must prepare. Yes, Doctor.
Go on. Get out of here.
(01:04:14):

Dragon, They were out there. Gerald Gerald Butler was out
there too. Gerard.
I'm sorry, that's his name wrong.
His name is Gerard. Gerard, Gerard.
I'm sorry, Gerard Butler And I think that's I think that's one
of the movies that you and I want to go see out in the
(01:04:58):
theaters, right? It is definitely one of the
movies and I want to see Lilo and Stitch but you keep
threatening to watch it before Ieven get to.
Did I see that? Cause yeah, the movie comes out.
Comes out on Friday. Comes out because you're going
to do it anyway. I'm not going to go see it.
Don't just continue. Come on.
Let's go see it. You keep saying you're going to
see it and I'm. I got, I got, I got errands to
(01:05:21):
do on that day. So I may not go see it.
So that's why I was thinking maybe.
I got bills to pay, bitch. That's true, but I was thinking
maybe on Saturday we go see it. You've got bills to pay, and so
do I. Before I go to work on Saturday.
That's what I'm saying maybe. Alright so so here are the
attractions that will be available during the grand

So you guys want to want to check out on that over by the
over by by Celestial Park, whichis the the the main entrance of
epic universe. You have Stardust racers and you

Hollywood RIP ride rocket T-shirt on our T public website.
And right now that shirt is on sale for $16.00 on on T public.
(01:07:07):
I mean knock off shirt. It's actually a better, better
one than the one that was at Universal.
So sorry, we do. We do have some Halloween Horror
Nights news and that is there's a first wave of new merchandise
is now on sale at Universal. And I did see, I did see the

They were showing the the Halloween Horror Nights shirts.
(01:07:31):
All right, Jen, what do we have at Disney?
All right. All right, well, we have Magic

Cinderella's Castle Stage. Their refurbishment has been
completed, and Mickey's Magical Friendship Fair is now running

been spotted behind the park, potentially teasing future
(01:07:52):
nighttime entertainment. The Big Center Mountain railroad
ride envelope and track testing happened have begun during the
ongoing refurbishment for Epcot. We have the Mexican Pavilion and
its new themed concrete has beeninstalled.
We have a pin trading update. Pin trading is no longer allowed
outside the Pin Shop, possibly to prevent solicitation

At Disney Springs, Disney's Hollywood Studios, we have
Muppet Vision 3D and Pizza Rizzo.
Pizza Rizzo. Their final days are June 5th
through the 7th. 2025 Cast members will be the final

helped create Muppet Vision 3D during those days.
Which I can't want to go meet those meet those those
imagineers from Dream Fed through seven.
I do want to meet some of those guys who who actually created
Jim Henson Jim Hensons last project which is Muppet Vision
3D. Yep, and then there's the
villains mural. That's been the text has been
(01:08:55):
added to the Sunset Showcase mural, Woody's lunch box.
There are additional covered seating areas have been opened
during ongoing construction and there's a new attraction
marquee, The Little Mermaid, a musical adventure that's been
installed for Animal Kingdom. We have a character meet up and
greet up update Pluto has moved to the Oasis near the park
(01:09:16):
entrance due to Tropical America's construction in the
former Dinoland USA area. And for our resorts dot at
Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter, their room
refurbishments completed with updated Mardi Gras flair.
California Grill, Disney's contemporary resort, that
restaurant is celebrating the 30th anniversary.
It was opened in 1995. Returning classic menu items are
(01:09:37):
the Sonoma goat cheese ravioli, which sounds delicious, grilled
pork tenderloin, blueberry blueberry Goat Cheese
cheesecake. That sounds good.
That does. I love goat cheese, sorry.
And the Monterey? Which is a, which a which is a
specialty, the specialty drink over at, you know, over at the
Disney's calf, Disney's California, California Grill.
(01:09:58):
I'm sorry, the girl, yeah, the Californian girl, which is
really, which is really, really good.
And I believe she is jumping on right now.
I know, I don't know. She can hear us, but she pops on
cool and we're actually might bewe'll actually be doing her.
We'll be doing her new segment right after the the latest theme
park update. So hey Nicole, how you doing?
(01:10:18):
Just Ducky, how are you? Good All right, so we are going
to carry on from the California grill, which those menu items
sounds delicious. Jen Sonoma goat cheese ravioli.
How can how can you make? How can you make, you know,
ravioli with goat cheese? Well, ravioli is basically
cheese and spite and flake like basil and spices mixed together,
(01:10:43):
put in to pasta and then cooked with usually red sauce.
The goat cheese is probably likethat creamy goat cheese that I
love to eat with crackers all the time, and it's put in with
whatever spices and what have you that they want to use, put
in a ravioli pasta shell and then cooked.
That's probably how that works, Remy.
(01:11:04):
Do you think we can make it likeour own at home one night and
have just make like make our ownversion of goat cheese ravioli?
Possibly. I make ravioli with spinach.
A lot of times will. Really.
With spinach. So I mean, you could do it
really with whatever you want. Goat cheese would be a very easy
substitution. Absolutely.
(01:11:24):
I mean, I sound, I think that would sound really good.
I think you and I probably wouldbe the only ones that would eat
it though. I can't.
I can't even. I kind of like, but I but I kind
of like Nicole's though. Her spinach ravioli.
That sounds good too. Well, yeah, you do.
Spinach and ricotta. I love spinach.
I love well. Or I'm lactose intolerant so I
just put spinach in it because I'm weird.
Well, you could also use like. But yeah, my mom will a lot of
(01:11:46):
times do spinach and. You could do lactose free cheese
though right? Probably if I felt like
splurging and didn't already have a taste of version.
So yeah, like one could. I don't, I don't see, I love
homemade ravioli, but it's just a lot of work.
To. Make the to make the dough, you
know, Make sure you put the. Make sure you put the dough
(01:12:07):
together, you know, get the the kitchen maid put that on and put
that. I don't, yeah.
I don't have the attachment for pasta anyway.
But I, I was watching, you know, this video before I went to bed
last night and they were making gnocchi.
Somehow they made this dough just pure out of potato and
flour and eggs. That's what gnocchi is.
(01:12:29):
Well, I know that, but no, they made something else.
They made something else with that, with the gnocchi flour.
And I'm like, that sounds good too.
Somehow they made more like a potato pasta with what you call
it. They steam the carrots and
sometimes they put the carrots inside the like a little rice
thing, squish it all together. And they made like this potato,
(01:12:51):
potato carrot spaghetti. I don't know.
It looked delicious. I want to try it out.
Hopefully if we can make it at home one night.
All right, so we are heading over to the you know what?
I'm going to say this. Yes, I was right, Mike.
I know you're I know you're going to hear this, but dude, I
was right. OK, Disney, the newest theme
park, Disneyland Abu Dhabi, is in the Yachts Island.
(01:13:13):
OK, This will be Yas Islands 5ththeme park and will also be an
indoor theme park. So there you go.
So the new, yeah, the new theme park in Abu Dhabi is going to be
all indoors. This is the newest Disney theme
park and let's see what we have here.
Oh, Janice, on you. So for SeaWorld and Busch
Gardens, we have the SeaWorld parent company exploring the
(01:13:35):
development of 400 acres in Orlando.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is investing $40 million in new
restaurants, shows and attractions, and Wild Oasis has
its opening dates. Pass holders will be able to
come in on May 30th. General public will be able to
start enjoying that on June 6th,2025.
All right, so we got some industry news and local
(01:13:58):
developments, corporate news as well.
Here in Florida, Falcons Beyond has acquired longtime
collaborator OES Uniting Forces and Theme Entertainment Design
and all. Yes, guys, I said once and I'll
say it again. We are going to get an LB, an
MLB team here in Florida and actually an Orlando team.
(01:14:18):
We are calling it, we are calling it the Orlando Dreamers.
Yes, I've said as on the last episode, pretty much you guys
were doubting that we are not going to get we're not going to
get a a baseball team because they want to build a stadium out
of out nearby SeaWorld. OK, yeah, there's land back
there. So you know what it's going to
happen because Orange County Commission sure Mike Scott has
(01:14:41):
confirmed Orlando will be getting a Major League Baseball
team And here's the last here's the last news for you guys and
that is we have a retail update for Brevard County and that is
the first ever Trader Joe's location for Brevard County may
be on the way. So cool for them they're getting
a a Trader Joe's. So there you guys have it.
(01:15:02):
That was the latest theme park updates brought to you by our
good friends over at the Magic Candle company.
So if you guys need a candle foryour home or for your office,
just head on over to magiccandlecompany.com.
Use our code round table 19 for your lovely discount.
And since Nicole is here, guys, let's let's go ahead and get
nerdy with Nicole. Want to dive into the science
(01:15:26):
behind your favorite theme park thrills?
Curious about what makes a park come alive?
From the heart pounding physics of a coaster to the immersive
Symphony of sounds, music and even the sense wafting through
Main St. We call this.
Segment getting nerdy with Nicole.
Take it away, Nicole. OK, so today because we're
(01:15:47):
finishing out, we're finishing up May and I believe the Flower
Garden Festival is still going on, or at least it recently
finished. So I was thinking about
butterflies. Butterflies.
Because they have that whole butterfly, they have that whole
butterfly landing, butterfly house, whatever.
And as I was looking into it, one that's cool in and of
itself, I did not realize that Disney like their conservation
(01:16:12):
program. They have a whole segment
dedicated to research regarding the monarch butterflies,
preserving them because they're very endangered species of the
Disney Conservation program has whole research bit set aside for
the monarch butterflies, which is super cool.
(01:16:32):
Yeah, so they monitor the monarch butterflies.
They actually attach teeny tiny tracking devices to them.
Like once they're full grown adults, they touch these teeny
teeny, teeny tiny tracking devices, which are probably
about the weight. They said.
Like it weighs maybe the same amount as a grain of rice if
(01:16:53):
that much. And it's controlled by
Bluetooth. I don't know how they got
Bluetooth that small, but they use eyelash glue to attach these
little trackers onto their backsbetween the wings and they just
follow where they go. Like apparently they've been
butterflies that flew like 2 miles from 1 theme park to
another like the Disney theme parks.
(01:17:16):
So that that was cool. They were saying like monarchs
or some of the strongest Flyers they can.
If you stacked 50 of sleep of ofCinderella's Castle on top of
each other, a monarch butterfly could fly that high.
Which is crazy, my opinion. And yeah, the lifespan is
usually about like a month or two, except for every few
(01:17:36):
generations that there will be one that lives like 9 months
because their sole purpose is tofly down to Mexico and then fly
back. And it's really cool.
There is something strange aboutthe monarch butterfly, their
migration pattern. I don't know why it brings them
over Florida because basically like they're going from the
(01:17:58):
eastern United States or even Canada down to Mexico.
So we don't know why it brings them over Florida.
I guess they want to stop at Disney World, but yeah, usually
brings them right over Florida. Florida's kind of in that sweet
spot of some of them choose not to go to Mexico.
They're just like, yeah, we're chilling here.
And so they just spend their whole lives.
But yeah, this conservation and research thing is super cool.
(01:18:22):
They were talking about how in during hurricanes, at least at
this research lab that they have, they take the other little
crystallis that they'd find, bring them inside and or at
least in a safe area with some of the plants and stuff.
And once that came past, put them back outside and let them
continue doing their thing. They're doing everything that
(01:18:43):
you can to preserve the butterflies.
It's kind of a homegrown elementto that butterfly house that
they use because of course there's the plants are very,
very vibrant and are there basically to draw the
butterflies in. Interestingly, monarch
butterflies only usually eat milkweed.
(01:19:04):
I'm guessing that's probably a large portion of the of the
plants that they have in the butterfly landing area.
It's just really cool. There is a sweet spot for
butterflies here in Disney World, Not just not just because
of the Flower in Garden Festival.
We, we actually, we actually went to the actually went, we
(01:19:26):
actually went through the, the butterfly exhibit because we
went to, we went to Epcot on my birthday when it was still the,
the foreign the foreign garden show.
And Jen goes, hey, let's go through, let's go through the
butterfly exhibit. I'm like, OK, let's go there.
Let's go through there. So, well, Jen's a Jen's and we
can't see anymore. So I guess your computer died.
Sorry, Jen. We did, Jen, We did go through
(01:19:49):
through that exhibit, right? I mean, how many butterflies?
The Monarch The monarch sectionsof the butterflies.
Did you see? I didn't count them.
As soon as like 4 different spots where you can see like the
how. Well, no, there were different
kinds of butterflies all over inthe in the little garden area.
That's like one of my favorite places to do that.
And they do different butterflies eat different
things, but definitely with monarchs, they primarily
(01:20:10):
milkweed, you know, So that's, you know.
Usually when I'm taking them to be, you know, if I want to do
butterfly life cycle with my kids at the end of the year,
which I usually do, I didn't this year because of, you know,
many different things. Usually what I'll do is I'll go
to like our local garden area and get milkweed and usually
they have like butterfly the eggs on the leaves because it's
(01:20:32):
where they put the Lee. That's where they put the, the
monocle lay it's eggs on the milkweed leaves and it's
attracted to it partially because of obviously it's a food
source, but also there's really bright flowers usually on
bulkweed as well. And they like bright flowers
just because it's, you know, usually where you get nectar and
things like that. Same thing with bees.
That's that's normally what I would do.
(01:20:53):
Yeah. Is.
That's actually what I was just going to say.
Yeah, about the bright colors, all those bright flowers.
And they say like, if you want abutterfly to possibly land on
you, your best bet is going to be to wear wear some really
bright colors. Be patient because I think
you're a flower. Yeah, basically, but.
(01:21:13):
Yeah, because like with monarchs, they do that, but
there's like you can go and a lot of teachers.
Well, there's something that looks a lot like a monarch, but
duller looking. It's a pinkish or butterfly that
they call like AI think they're called pink ladies.
They're, they're brown. Yeah, they're brown with like a
pink. And you can actually buy them at
a local. It's, it's an Oviedo actually a
(01:21:36):
local gardening store or place where they'll sell it especially
to teachers at a certain time ofyear when they, you know, and
you get probably about 7 caterpillars in a, in a cup that
has all of the food that they'llneed in that cup for all, all of
those butterfly or the caterpillars.
(01:21:57):
And they'll attach to the paper that's on top of the lid or
underneath the lid. And your kids can.
Your students can actually see the butterflies turn going, or
the caterpillars turn into the cocoon and go in and then
eventually become a butterfly. You had, you had a lot of fun.
You had a lot like past couple years, yeah.
(01:22:17):
Last year we had because we did it with milkweed.
We did it like we started out with milkweed and had actual
milkweed plants in our classroomlast year.
We had a ton of butterflies and our kids loved it.
Years previously we've done the Pink Ladies from from the garden
center that Innovito. OK, so it says here with I
looked, I just looked this up about monarch.
(01:22:38):
Monarch butterflies says can eatroughly 200 times its own weight
in milkweed leaves 200 times. That's like and they say here
they can, they can consume between 170 hundred 75 to 200
leaves. Well, you know, you understand
that what they're doing when they, when they go into the
(01:22:59):
cocoon, they're literally turning their body into liquid.
Their body turns into liquid. It's called metamorphosis.
So it turns into liquid and thenreforms into this insect that
has wings and can fly and, and what have you.
And so they need all of the energy and all the food sources
that they can get for them to beable to do that.
(01:23:19):
They get really, really fat. Apparently it's illegal in the
US. To do what?
Milkweed, so it says. Why is milkweed illegal in the
US? Milkweed can sicken livestock
when they eat enough of it. It's not illegal because I would
not be able to go to a gardeningcenter and go and buy it.
Well, your mom wouldn't be able to have it in her yard.
(01:23:42):
Well, there's not a livestock. OK, Well, it might be illegal to
have on a farm. Yeah, but that's a farm that's
not in the United States necessarily.
And it might be illegal in different parts of the country,
too. And isn't there like a migration
like between Mexico and the United States with with
monarchs? Specifically, yeah, like I said,
generally primarily Eastern United States and up through
(01:24:05):
Canada and they all coalesce down.
They'll basically have a nice little spring break for
themselves down in Mexico like every few generations.
Like I said, most of the monarchs, their lifespan, it's
like a month. Every few generations you have
ones that live about nine monthsbecause their their sole purpose
is to go have their experiences down in Mexico.
(01:24:29):
And it says here and it says there's milkweed is also toxic
to dogs. Wow.
That's our many plants. So yeah, be careful with your
doggies. I didn't know if you guys wanted
me to keep this one short ish orI can do a Part 2 of this weeks.
Let's do it. We can do a part, We can do a
Part 2. OK, so looking at the
(01:24:51):
butterflies, there's another insect that is the exact
opposite. Like we have a bunch of
butterflies probably more than most areas in the Disney parts.
There is one insect that is verynoticeably lacking, or at least
extraordinarily minimal, especially in the heat.
(01:25:12):
I've got it. Summer in Florida, Yes.
It's on mosquitoes or it's goingto be the, what's it called the
those. Ladybugs.
No, not ladybugs. It's lovebugs.
Lovebugs. Lovebugs, No, You'll see
lovebugs a lot. But yes, there's a noticeable
absence of mosquitoes. None in Disney World.
(01:25:32):
Very noticeable absence of mosquitoes in Disney World.
You know why? And yes, actually.
Because I have AI have a theory I got I got a theory about these
mosquitoes, like why there's no mosquitoes in like in all of
Disney, in all the Disney Disneytheme parks.
When Walt Disney dreamed up WaltDisney World, he wasn't just
thinking about castles and roller coasters.
(01:25:54):
He was thinking about comfort. And in the middle of Florida's
swampy wilderness, comfort meantno mosquitoes.
To make this vision a reality, Walt brought in a key player,
Major General William Joe Potter, former military engineer
who had worked on mosquito control in the Panama Canal
Zone. Potter helped design Disney
(01:26:16):
property with state-of-the-art drainage systems, ensuring there
would be no standing water, the perfect breeding ground for
mosquitoes. Disney also planned the
landscaping and architecture with pest control in mind.
No water features without circulation, no dense
underbrush, and even the rooftops were engineered to
drain completely after rainfall.Over the years, Disney built a
(01:26:40):
sophisticated mosquito control program using a mix of natural
predators, biological surveillance and minimal
targeted spraying. Also, guests can enjoy the magic
without bug spray. Thanks to Walt's foresight and
Joe Potter's expertise, Disney properties remain some of the
only places in Florida where youcan walk around at dusk and not
(01:27:03):
get bitten. There, I know my friend, he says
this as a joke. He's like, you know what Dizzy
is inside of a Dome. I'm like, no, we're not inside
of a Dome. Dizzy has these traps.
They have these certain traps inall the Disney theme parks where
any food locations, any attractions, any like behind
behind the behind the scenes areas.
(01:27:24):
They have these these little little boxes and although I know
looks like like rodents and stuff, but no, they're high
above like towards like securityarea and they're like small
boxes that you can't see. But those are like bugs traps.
That is helpful for a lot of bugs, but that's not the reason
there's a lack of mosquitoes. The thing is.
(01:27:44):
Bye. Yes, Yes, Hunk.
It's I believe it's because the water is constantly moving.
Is that correct? That is correct.
That is what I'm going to say. They do not have standing water.
They make sure the water is constantly moving in some way.
The like any of the big areas, even though they keep even like
(01:28:08):
in the lakes and stuff, they keep the water moving.
They also have fish in there to make sure that the water is
continually moving because wheredo mosquitoes reproduce?
Standing water of any variety and so all the buildings are
very much engineered to not allow for pools of standing
(01:28:28):
water even with all the rain that we get in Orlando Spaceship
Earth family under like the exterior of the ball then also
has like a specialized built in drainage system to prevent any
water like there's a second layer in it.
There's a engineered drainage system to prevent any of that
standing water. That's how they are able to keep
(01:28:49):
the parks almost into devoid of mosquitoes, which is certainly
appreciated, I think for everybody now you know, that's
why there's no skitoes. No Skitoes.
I'm glad we don't. I'm glad we don't have any
mosquitoes in Disney because that would be a pain in the butt
I would imagine. How much, you know, bug spray?
Bug spray Disney will charge if he had like those type of bugs
(01:29:11):
inside the party. Like, yeah, I'm not spending.
I'm not spending 5 bucks on bug spray.
Nope, I'm good. And that is, and it was, I
believe, Joe Potter changed. I'll have to look up the name
again. There is one of those ferry
boats named after the engineer that kind of came up with and
implemented this thing. But living in Orlando, you go
(01:29:32):
outside of the theme parks. The fact that I can load up with
that off like the deep concentrated bug spray and still
get eaten alive by mosquitoes, that is quite a feat of
engineering to be able to keep the parks mosquito free.
Yes. So when West Nile was like first
(01:29:54):
a big thing, they actually gave out what was it?
Bugs. Bug wipes to wipe.
Down. I forgot about that, yeah.
Bug. Wipes.
Well, like with the the bug spray on them.
Spray, yeah, but instead of being a can of spray that gives
you a wipe or two to put on. Whoa, that's cool.
(01:30:14):
And they had stations throughoutthe park that you could grab
them throughout the day. And I think, I think and I think
I think the Best Buy will be like at Epcot, but because it's
more wide open and have them like locate Animal Kingdom,
Yeah. I mean that's, I think those be
the best spots to put to put those put to put those in the
those bug wipes. Nicole, what do you got?
(01:30:36):
What do you have planned for us for next week to get nerdy with
you? Not sure yet.
OK, think of something. It'll be it'll be a little
surprise. All right, cool.
All right, Nicole. So tell us what is coming up,
what is coming up for you at a Jewel nightclub and where can
everybody check you out on social media?
OK, so at Jewel we have, well, tomorrow usually we have karaoke
(01:30:59):
on Thursdays. Tomorrow we have a private
event. Actually for cast members of
Epic Universe, they're having kind of a kickoff party.
So that's a private event. Can't come then.
But we will have solo piano Friday, dueling piano Saturday,
and usually on Thursdays we havekaraoke.
Come check us out for that. We have the charity gaming all
(01:31:21):
three of those days. And soon, starting in June, we
will be going to seven days a week because there will be a
murder mystery show. Oh.
Run in Tiatra Martini, so you'llhave to come check that out, and
Jewel will indeed be open, giventhat it is a Speakeasy murder
(01:31:41):
mystery. Jen, Jen had a question goes,
how can I get a job working the murder mystery?
I already had auditions. Other had auditions.
A little from what I heard, theywere a little bit.
But I'm sure, I'm sure questionable.
I'm sure Jen and I will check that out once it's open to the
public, we'll check that Myrrh mystery.
So she loves, she loves, she loves Myrrh mysteries.
