might say hi to you guys back onour in our chat family guys
(06:01):
welcome. My name is Remy and with me, as
always, is my dangerous Co host,my partner in crime, my lovely
wife, Jen. Hi honey, how you doing?
I'm. Fabulous.
And yes, guys, she's back. Hey Nicole, how you doing?
Hello. Just Ducky, how are you?
Doing great. Tomorrow is Thursday, Friday,
Friday is Independence Day. Where do you usually go see the
(06:24):
fireworks? The past two years I've gone
down to my mom's place because her community does a big
fireworks shop, so I go do that with her.
That's cool. Do you guys have you guys have a
cook out there as well? Sometimes, sometimes she did.
She did buy a year or two ago. So yeah, we've been trying to
utilize that one. It's not raining.
Do you like to Do you like to blow up any?
Do you like to blow up any fireworks?
(07:16):
Oh God, oh boy. Fire.
Jen, we, Jen, we have Jen, we have a pyromaniac on on the
round table. OK, Jen.
Jen. Sorry, what?
Safety first? Safety first.
I'm not a pyromaniac. So is it Nicole?
That's the pyromania. Yeah, 'cause if you missed.
Absolutely. If if you saw Nicole's face, she
she gave us like the dirtiest face.
(07:37):
She's like, no, it wasn't. It was.
Just a face of sheer excitement.Like I say, like I said, she's
she's like, she has that little, that little face.
She's like fire. I get to play with fire and blow
up stuff. Woohoo.
I love it. I used to like back then I used
to have like bottle rockets. I used to have these little,
(07:58):
these little M 80s. I used to have cherry bombs and
all those were the the best fireworks I ever blown up.
I remember when I was like, thank God, I was like maybe 10
or 11. Yes, I was being very, I was
being very careful and cautious. My friend of mine, we blew up
some fireworks in his backyard. We blew them out of the lead
(08:18):
pipe. So it was but only, only, only
the bottle, only the bottle rockets because they were so
tiny. We just put them on the ground
and just and see where, where they land.
And, and he, he had a huge, he had a huge backyard.
So yes, I was being very, I was being careful.
They were illegal in North Carolina, so we didn't get to do
them there. Oh, that sucks, Jen, what about
(08:38):
you? What did you What did you do for
your? The bottle rockets were illegal.
Oh for oh for ball walk. Driveway ones were fine.
Oh, so the bottle rockets were illegal, but everything else you
can do just blown up on the sidewalk or your or your
driveway? Yeah, pretty much.
OK, yeah, so firecrackers, bottle rockets, Roman candles,
those three were illegal. I love Roman candles.
(08:59):
Anything else like I know they're pretty.
They're they're pretty, but justdon't.
They're terrifying when they come at your head.
Well, well, well. Just don't.
Rightfully so. Well, just don't point them at
anybody. Nobody was pointing anything at
anybody. Well, I'm saying, I'm saying for
Roman, I'm saying for Roman candles, just don't point them
at anybody. That's like the, I mean, that's
the best. Put them up.
(09:19):
Yep, like somewhere between likeabout a 60° angle.
That was done and it ended up coming at.
Nobody. That was done and it ends up
sometimes does not go up in the air, sometimes it goes to the
side. That's why you're putting them
in direction of nobody. Well, if you're everybody, just
stand behind. You if you're doing it in the
(09:39):
street and you're nowhere near the street and it comes at.
You, Jed, how come you're not ona video for for, are you?
For her in your general direction, were you standing in
front of where it was being launched?
No, you were standing behind theperson shooting it.
I was standing to the side, I guess because I was in my own
yard. Same problem.
(10:00):
I hate I. Stand behind.
Wait, why do you hate? Why do you hate Bottle Rock?
Because they end up going OK if you don't shoot it off the right
way. It either can take your fingers
off or it goes and it goes towards people.
That's true. But The thing is, you stick, you
stick it in the ground and just line, just line them up in the,
just line them up that way. And honestly, the.
Better you put them in a bottle like you're supposed to, and
(10:22):
here's nice and straightened. Well, and here's the thing, the
last time that we set off bottlerockets, the person who set off
bottle the bottle rockets didn'tset it off with a bottle or
anything. It literally stuck it in the
ground on the side of the road and lit them and almost exploded
in my car. That's not good.
Person was dumb and that's why safety first.
(10:44):
Also nearly got his fingers blown off, but that's you.
Know was this. My besties ex ex-boyfriend.
Obie, where are you going? And that's why he's her ex.
That's one of the many reasons. OK.
So I'm sorry, I'm sorry for you guys were talking about you guys
were saying bottle rockets, bottle rockets are bad, right.
So you guys are trying to say no?
Hell's no, they're. Great or Gen. safety first?
(11:06):
Well, Gen. One safety.
First she was saying idiots launching bottle rockets were.
Bad and I'll come and there are more of those than there should.
Be and I was going and I was going to recall on that was that
guy was that guy drinking always?
Oh well then he's alcohol, then he's a dumbass.
Well, do not drink and launch works.
Yeah, we'll play with fire. So.
(11:28):
Be dumb. So what I did was with my friend
of mine when we were doing theseball rockets, he actually, like
I said, he had a big backyard and everything.
He had a target thing, a little target practice, like one of
those like hay barrel things. He put a metal plate in the in
the target so we can blow up stuff.
And that was the best thing everwe did.
So we, we had like these Coke bottles filled with chlorine and
(11:52):
it blew up. And that was like the the
coolest part. An.
Idiot. We were safe.
We were being safe We were beingsafe.
Safe we were being. Sad.
Chlorine that's flammable already is not a good idea.
Well, we, we were like 100 feet away.
So we were being, we, we were being very cautious and very
careful, Jen, very careful. Not sure, not sure why we did
(12:15):
that, but it was just very, verystupid that we did that.
But I think what I like to do onthe 4th, if it's not crowded, go
to either Lake Eola, go see those fireworks, or go to
Altamont and go do the Red, Red Hot and Boom.
But speaking about the fireworkstomorrow, Jen and I, we, we
(12:36):
might be doing this tomorrow because real radio is taking
over Mount Dora. So we might go see, we might go
see a couple of our favorite radio radio shows out there
tomorrow and watch some, watch some fireworks.
So that sounds, it sounds prettygood.
What do you think, Jen? Does that sound?
I'm good. Whoa.
Hey, yo. Oh, you got your hands full.
(12:57):
You got full? Yeah, I've got a Kitty.
Cat, you got Obi of one hand, your drink almost fell three
times, almost fell over. There aren't enough flat
surfaces in my house. Obi you dumb ass.
Oh, he's not being dumb. He's being stupid.
He can't go outside. No, that's not him being stupid.
He just wants to go outside. That's what he wants to do.
But anyway, yes, we're looking, we are looking forward to go see
(13:18):
some of our favorite radio shows.
Depends on depends on what we dotomorrow.
But it sounds fun. Sounds like a cool day, but
anyway. Anyway guys, let's go ahead and
jump right into it. It is now time for the latest
theme park updates. It's now time for the latest
theme park updates. Today, it's not just theme
(13:38):
parks. We might throw in a little
Florida news too. From thrilling attractions to
headline making Sunshine State stories, we've got it all lined
up. What's the wait time again for
this segment? 0 minutes.
It's happening right now. Take it away, Remy.
All right, so we are starting out over at Let's see here.
(14:01):

photos, they are amazing. Like they actually are really
they look good. They look really, really, really
good. Let me see here.
I might have to go back to my other laptop and do this because
I can't see up. There we go.
(14:45):
That's actually much better. OK.
Astro Orber Orbiter has reopenedafter a month long
refurbishment. Hall of Presidents is now open
again with updated showtimes. Prairie Outpost now sells
headwear from is that Chapel? Chapel hats.
What the heck is a Chapel hat? It's the name of the company.
All the name of the company I thought was a hat, I thought was
(15:07):
like a some type of hat. Oh, well, I'm dumb.
OK, Yes. Hey, you're not You're not
supposed to agree when I say that, Jen.
Always. I mean, she is your wife.
She's allowed to. I know.
Her, she is my wife. It would be problematic if I
were to agree I'm not allowed todo that, but Jen is allowed to.
But she's your wife. But Nicole, you've been on.
(15:27):
You've been. They were part of the they were
the unspoken part of the vows. Nicole, you've been on the show
way too many times. You've been on here long, long
enough to call me dumb and stupid.
So you, you can say that let's see here, Main Street USA Rail
railroad station refurbishment is ongoing.
Yeah, they're making turn. They're they're changing the
(15:48):
routine for I'm sorry, they're changing the route for the Main
Street USA train station when they're redoing the Big Thunder

So that's what they're doing forfor right now.

And. I don't expect a lot of people
wanting to actually go to test track.
Spaceship Earth will temporarilyclose for refurbishment on
August 25th, but open the opening.
Will. The reopening will be determined
later in 2025. A new sign has been installed
(17:58):
for a coral reef restaurant. Great restaurant.
I actually really like that restaurant.
I want to go back to that restaurant.
I just want, I just want that lobster bisque again.
We're not doing it though, not anytime soon at least.
Construction appears underway for a Gashapon kiosk in the
Japan. OK, I really said that poorly
then. Gashapon Kiosk.
(18:18):
I think you said. Japan.
I think you said it right before.
I said it very American. Gashapon.
Gashapon kiosk in Japan Pavilionin the lobby map at Disney's
Polynesian Resort now includes Island Tower.
Bell time over at over at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Daisy's
dig meet and greet and crabs is now available at the restaurant
(18:41):

Blizzard Beach begins seasonal closure September 8th, 2025.
Typhoon Lagoon will remain open through the fall season.
Well, we do. Have Speaking of the Polynesian
which Jen did say about the Polynesian earlier, which is the
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort now includes the island
(19:04):
tower on the lobby map, but alsothe boutique Tiki gift shop has
completed as refurbishment. There is new resort merchandise
collection which is now available for $35 and a

Apparently there's a roof Roof repair prep is underway on the

(19:46):
All right, Jen, we got, oh, we got some dress code.
All right, dining. Dress code The new Bourbon Steak
by Michael Mina restaurant at the Swan and Dolphin is
enforcing a formal dress code tomaintain its upscale aesthetic.
Yeah, apparently got Yeah, wear a suit now to that.
Wear jeans and leggings. Yep.
So suit. Only a suit.
(20:06):
A suit. Not wearing a suit.
I'm a girl. We got some.
Although some girls wear suits, I don't like them.
You don't like them? Not for me.
You don't. You don't.
I don't buy this casual suit. You wearing a suit?
I don't feel comfortable in the suit.
Which I'm not wearing a suit this time to the poker
tournament. I'm cool with that.
I'm not. I'm just wearing a shirt, pants,
shoes, Done. That's it.
That's all I'm wearing. Which Nicole Gent and I we are
(20:28):
going to a poker tournament in August every year.
Fantastic. 1st 1st place is a first place gets a free trip to
Vegas. Usually.
That's usually what the deal is.Nice.
So that is a deal and I've. Made it to the to the final
table twice over the last like 3or 4 years.
He's only made it one. No.
Twice. No, not since the three, the two
(20:49):
of us have been. Going No, not 2.
Not the two of us know. Yeah, since the two of us have
been going well. No, no, no.
When I was a player and when I was a dealer cuz I dealt at the
I dealt at the last table. Yep, that's why.
So don't know that you didn't deal at the last table when we
were together. I know, that's what I'm saying.
Anyway, that being said. But we're looking forward to it.
And I told Jen I'm like, if we're heads up at this poker
(21:09):
term, he. Wants me to throw it and so he
can win. Exactly.
And I told him no, I said that'snot happening.
I'm bad, I'm bad. That in and of itself would be a
gamble. At least if Jen is doing well
and wins, then you kind of win by proxy, yeah.
I told her. Table I told her if she needs to
read chip she can buy in the chip amount which is.
(21:32):
If it's $50. 50 bucks or 100 I mean.
Well, there we go. OK, So what he means is if I
need to, if I need to buy, not buy back in, but like I usually
I'll make it to the the first break and maybe chip up.
So I'll add $50 and they'll giveme a certain amount of chips
added to it. But and I'll do that.
(21:55):
And he, he doesn't necessarily do it.
I'll, I'll occasionally do it. It's it's for a charity so I
don't mind like upping my chips.Or I might do that.
I might do it this year if I haven't.
If I have the money, if. I have the extra if I have the
extra 50 bucks plus plus his chair is for a charity event.
Yeah, so the mustard seed. If I had that extra 50 bucks,
I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna go ahead and reach up.
It's for the mustard seed, right?
(22:15):
It's all it's always have been for the for the muster seed
foundation and huge shout out tothe dealers who are dealing this
year's poker tournament. Shout out to the guys have fun
planners. So you guys are going to have a
lot of fun this year's poker tournament.
And sorry guys, I can't deal with the guys this time.
So I do apologize. All right, we got some Disney.
(22:36):
Rather play anyway. I'd rather.
I'd rather play. Hell yeah.
All right, guys. So we do have some Disney Cruise
Line information. That is, there's a precious
increase for adult exclusive dining.
So Apollo, Apollo Steakhouse is a prefix, you know, restaurant.
So now it's $55. So there we go on, on the Disney
(22:56):
Disney dream, Disney dream and fantasy cruise ships.
The champagne brunch is now $85,the dessert experience is now
$70, and the dinner option is $145.00.
All right, let's go on to the Universal Orlando Resort.
The new Jurassic World T Rex Popcorn Bucket is now available
for $35. It looks.
(23:18):
It looks so cute. It roars when you open his
mouth. On the new Wicked Collectible
Medallions release are being released for $20, which we have
the Wicked cups, they're really cool.
Yeah, but this, we like them. But this pack, this medallion
pack, it's 4 medallions for $20,or you can get one of the
medallions for $7.00. That's not bad.
(23:39):
It's not bad at all. Popular lemon blueberry crate
that has received a vegan updatefor $13.
So the popular. You're gonna be popular.
Halloween Horror Nights 2025 houses have been announced.
Yep, so far. Dolly, let's play dead.
Or no, sorry, not Dolly. I'm I'm thinking about Dolly
Parton so badly. Dolls, let's play dead.
Not like your version Better Dolly.
(24:00):
Let's play dead. Grave of the Flesh That sounds
so disgusting. The one sold out.
Epic Universe Grand Opening Medallion is now available
online for $40 after resellers charged $5000.
Yeah. So to all your resellers out
there. And there are rumored expansion
ideas for Epic Universe including Legend of Zelda which
(24:21):
is in Super Nintendo would be with Super Nintendo world,
Luigi's mansion ride, also Nintendo creature from the black
goon boat ride, Dark universe, Pokémon land, Wicked land, Lord
of the Rings land, a new Harry Potter attraction.
All good. Rumored expansion ideas?
I've actually heard about the Legend of Zelda one.
That would be kind of cool. Yep, Legend of Zelda is a huge
(24:44):
possibility because if you're inin that gift shop after the
Bowser's challenge attraction, once you guys go into once you
guys go into that gift shop, youguys look up.
You guys can see a little minifigure, a little mini mini
figurine of link. So that gives you an idea a
little Easter egg for legends ofLegend of Zelda.
So if that happens, you you bet your ass Jen and I will be going
(25:08):
to epic universe for the very first time.
There we go speaking about also speaking about Universal.
Now this for this is for the international side, national
Universal News as well. And that is Universal UK has
submitted a planning, planning request to develop a new park
and a resort in the United Kingdom.
(25:29):
Also Universal Horror Unleashed Midwest.
So they already have a location in Vegas, which if we win this,
if Jen myself or Jen wins the Vegas trip, this is what we're
going to do. We'll go, I'll go to the Horror
Unleashed Vegas attraction. But now there's a new location
opening in Chicago in 2027 at the former Tribune distribution
(25:54):
Center. We got we're talking about.
Gillian's bake house. At.
Disney Springs, they have have aRocky road cookie, it's
returning for two weeks only for$7.00 and they have oh God that
looks so good. The Key Lime icebox pie, layers
of Key Lime curd, cream filling and Graham cracker crust.
(26:14):
Both treats are part of the flavors of Florida celebration,
and Remy knows I absolutely freaking adore Keelan Pie.
And how much is it? It is $10.
So does that mean? It's not bad.
So does that mean we might need to take a trip to Disney Springs
and try these flavors? Yeah.
OK. Not rocky road, I don't give I
(26:35):
don't like rocky road that much but Key Lime my stocks.
Pie Key Lime. Yeah, well, we do have some new
merchant collectibles for you guys.
The Disneyland 70 Seventy 70th Anniversary Mermaid Lagoon Tiki
Mug will be making it making itsway to Trader Sam's at Disney on
July 24th. There's a Hergles Hergles muse.
(26:57):
The Muses Hand Fan is now available for $17.00 and you
guys can pick that up at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
There's a sporty windbreaker outwear released at Walt Disney
for $80. There's a new balloon series
pins, which is available at Disney's Hollywood Studios for
$15. Star Wars Rise of the Resistance
(27:19):
belt bag. It's a brand new belt bag for
$45. And lastly, there's a light up
Toy Story Toy Story alien zipperseen at Hong Kong, which will be
making its way to the Disney theme parks as well, which
you'll be able to pick that up at Disney's Hollywood Studios
all. Right.
And some entertainment and film news.
Disney's live action Hercules. This will be a faithful
(27:42):
adaptation of the animated original.
That will only happen if they have the guy who voiced Hades
playing Hades. James Woods, thank you very
much. And then and and Dan DeVito as
Phil Practical. That would be kind of cool.
Scarlett Johansson confirms the Tower of Terror film script is
progressing despite thin lore. Here's the thing.
Here's the thing about that. So.
(28:04):
They've already made a Tower of Terror movie.
They did with with Kirsten Dunst, but this is a brand new,
is going to be a brand new, new version of Tower Terror.
Because here's the thing about that.
Scarlett Johansson has a script ready.
But the thing, the thing that's missing is the director.
She can't find a director who will direct this movie.
That's the problem. Well it's probably not the best
(28:24):
script. They did say it was a thin
script. There was a tower of terror mini
like a mini movie or ATV movie right?
made for TV movie. Yep, in 1997 with.
Was that right? Kirsten Dunst.
It had, yeah. Anna Peters it, Kirsten Dunst,
Anna Peterson. I was thinking Steve Guttenberg.
I was not thinking about KristenDunst and Melora Hardin and John
(28:47):
Franklin and NIA Peoples. So yeah, a lot of cool people.
I was not thinking about that. But yes, they did have 8 hour
terror film already. Do they really need another one?
I mean you. Think so.
I mean, it's Scarlett Johansson,so yes.
Because it's Scarlett Johansson doesn't mean it needs to be
done. Lucasfilm is prepping for a
reboot of Indiana Jones. Announcements could come as
(29:10):
early as D23 Expo 2026. Would you watch it?
I don't know. I Harrelson Ford is always going
to be indie to me. So I mean, there was the TV show
that they did with Young Indie and I liked that, but I didn't,
I mean, it didn't do very well. I don't know if it will do very
well without Harrelson Ford. Nicole, would you watch it at
(29:31):
this point? Maybe.
Possibly. I don't know, you know.
What I can indifferent if they had Jonathan Bailey as Indiana
Jones. Who's Jonathan Bailey?
You know who? Jonathan Bailey.
Who the hell is Jonathan Bailey?Richardson.
He's in the new Jurassic Park. Hold on, let me.
He's an accomplished. He was also in Wicked.
(29:52):
Let me. Let me find him.
Hold on. The the one of the male leads in
wicked. John.
Or the male leading wicked, I mean.
Bailey got it. Oh, him.
He's handsome. He's a very handsome man.
Well, well, let me show Nicole real quick.
Nicole, this guy right here. Whoops, that guy.
He is very handsome. I know I've probably seen him in
(30:15):
something I. Did you see Wicked yet?
OK, so have you ever seen Bridgerton?
Nope. Have you seen the trailers for
Jurassic Park? The new Jurassic Park movie.
Damn. OK, well.
You're 3 for three. Sorry, Nicole, but.
That's why I said I know. I've seen him.
I've probably seen him in something or in ads or something
or other, but I'm just not superfamiliar.
(30:36):
I mean, I mean, I mean, Jen gaveyou like all the famous, you
know. I mean, he's done other things.
Besides that, super familiar cause I've not seen.
Obviously he's done other thingsbesides that, but those are the
ones that are like the major ones that I know of.
And I think, I think Nicole will.
I think, I think he's. Very openly gay man.
Oh he is gay, I forgot. Oh yeah, he totally is.
But I think Nicole will like, I think she will enjoy.
(30:58):
British, but he was with Scarlett Johansson in the new
Jurassic film. Which I need to go see that
movie too. I know, I don't know, I feel
like Bridgerton might annoying me because I really like history
and I know it's loosely based onhistory but depending upon.
It's but based on the. Liberties that they've taken.
The liberties that they've taken, they've taken may or may
(31:19):
not drive me knocking butts. OK, so it's based on historical
romance. Historical romance isn't
necessarily his that historical, although the woman who wrote
it's historically the Bridgerton, the woman who wrote
the Bridgerton series. Exactly.
The woman who wrote the Bridgerton series did a lot of
research on that area, that era.Shonda took a lot of liberties
(31:42):
with what she did with the production of it as well that
don't completely line up. You know, things like the
characters are it's it's colorblind with the characters,
which is great. I love that they made one of the
characters seem more like they were more bisexual than
anything. And in her books, none of her
(32:03):
characters are bisexual. They made one of the female
characters seem like she's goingto be a lesbian and none of the
characters are lesbians and they're.
So yes, so definitely historically inspired.
Exactly as I mean, not that. There's one who gets very
involved in history, yeah, is gets hung up on very stupid
(32:24):
things. Well.
So I'm afraid that it'll the liberty is chosen to Yeah, to
take could drive me knocking cuts.
Well, I'll see if I get a chanceto watch it and choose to great.
Otherwise, I don't know. Yeah, we'll see.
I think it happens. They took it because you know
that that the woman or the the Queen Charlotte in real life,
(32:46):
some people said that she might have African ancestry and I
think. Yeah, there's a possibility of
it. Like many, many, many, many,
many, many. Generations.
Generations back. Yeah, exactly.
And so I think that's what that came out of and the reason they
went in that direction. I mean many of one of the many
reasons they went in that direction, the I.
(33:08):
Like I like, I like the show. I've read the books years ago
with Julia Quinn. I love her as an author and I
think she's really good at the research that she conducts the
research that she has in the books that she that that she
does. Obviously there's poetic license
and things like that, but what she like the the things that
that are in the books, you know, are closer to reality than.
(33:32):
Can I try? Can I try, man, Real quick About
Bridgeton the author? No, no, I'm not going to be that
guy. Which, OK, I'll maybe I'm gonna
be that guy real quick. Was she a horny author when she
made these books? I'm not going to validate or say
anything about that. OK.
All right, Well, let's carry on.She's a romance author who write
who's specifically Her niche is historical romance set in the
(33:55):
Georgian. Georgian time period, right?
Yeah, Which is like the 16th, 15th, 16th century. 18th.
Century 18th OK, I'll resolve about a couple of.
Years Brummel, George the Third.George The.
Think think French and American Revolution era.
Oh, OK, got it. So actually, yeah, it's post,
(34:15):
it's post Revolutionary War. OK, All right, all right, Jen,
we got some news about Michael Bay and Transformers.
Yeah, Michael Bay is reportedly returning to A to direct a new
Transformers film after the lastone flopped at $605 million.
Yeah, I'm sorry. Worldwide.
(34:36):
Yeah, Nope. All right, we got some cool news
about I know we we love Star Wars.
All of us here on the on the round table.
We love Star Wars. I'll check this out.
Coca-Cola has a brand new Star Wars collaboration.
So if you like if you are a a Coke drinker like myself, like
Coca-Cola drinker cool. But the new Star Wars themed
(34:57):
Coca-Cola bottles are available in most of the Disney parks
featuring 30 plus characters across original taste and 0
sugar labels for the original taste.
Your characters are Lando, only one, Kenobi, Kylo Ren and other.
You know there's multiple other characters on there, but those
are some of the character characters that you will see on
(35:19):
those on those labels on the original taste.
Also for the 0 for the 0 sugar sugar Coca-Cola bottles, you'll
see Vader, Leia, Yoda, Grogu, Ray and few more.
OK so personally think of Tyler Ren should be with 0 sugar.
What? Why?
Because Vader is with 0 sugar in.
That Oh my gosh. And maybe Lando Lando Calrissian
(35:48):
was not always the best. OK, Nicole, about what about
you? You think these characters, you
think these characters are characters are a good set for
the Star Wars collaboration withCoca-Cola.
I mean any popular character, yes, because any popular
character is going to be a good marketing tactic, so.
But Vader on a 0 sugar bottle? Yeah, I mean, that's perfect.
(36:10):
Well. That's perfect.
OK, looks like I need to make a trip to Hollywood studios and
get. That it makes a lot of sense
honestly. And poor Vader.
Poor Vader. Considering they have the
Coca-Cola like thing that they have at Epcot, that makes a lot
of sense. That's club cool but there is a
but. There is a Coca-Cola store at
Disney Springs. Yeah, but Club Cool Everything's
(36:31):
soda or all of the sodas are Coca-Cola sodas.
It's for different dishes. All right, we have Monorail
update. Glow in the dark logos have been
added to the Walt Disney World Monorail fleet, Lightning
lighting up your nighttime travels along the resort.
Yeah, they actually look pretty cool.
I saw some photos with the glow, the glow in the dark logos.
(36:51):
It looks really well done. And I believe Jen is stepping
away real quick. So I'm going to go ahead and
finish up with the the latest theme park updates and then

well. And looks like we may have to
take a little group trip to Disney.
And of course, your brother's invited too.

(37:57):

Mac. September, September 12th we

On September, September 19th we have Sheila E she is returning,
(38:18):
which is awesome. On September 21st we have Ben
Rector on September. On September 26th we have on

Should I go to Halloween Horror Nights or should I go to Epcot

playing November 1st as well, right?
That's right, yeah. Epcot though.
(40:07):
So we're gonna we're. Going to Epcot, we're gonna go
to Big bad Voodoo Daddy. But he was asking about, he was
asking about on the 31st. On Halloween, That's what I'm

Yep. Wow.
In 1986, on July 2nd, The Great Mouse Detective, which is one of
my favorite cartoons, actually hits US theaters.
This charming animated mystery brings a Sherlock Holmes twist
to Disney animation. Based on Basil of Baker Street
(43:25):
by Eve Titus, The Great Mouse Detective introduced fans to
Basil Dawson and or Basil Dawsonand the sinister Professor
Raddat. Again.
It was a pivotal film during thestudio's transitional period,
leading the way to the Disney Renaissance that would be begin
just a few years later. You think I should?
You think I should read that book Basil of Baker Street?
(43:48):
I don't know. Basil.
I'm sorry. Basil of Baker Street.
It is Basil, and at least according to the movie, it's
Basil. It might be cool, it might be
nice. Eve Titus is a good author.
July 2nd, 1997 AMC theatres Pleasure Island 24 reopens in

Yeah, it's disgusting. On July 3rd, 1967, Disney meets
Florida Citrus in a meeting thatwould influence Epcot and more.
(44:56):
Representatives from the FloridaDepartment of Citrus and Walt
Disney Productions convene to explore ways of integrating
Florida's citrus industry into the upcoming Walt Disney World.
This would eventually influence the creation of attractions like
the Orange Bird and sponsorshipslike the Sunshine Tree Terrace.
So that's where the orange bird comes from.
It came. Where that came from?
(45:18):
They came from the so the orangebird came from the floor.
Department of Citrus, that's. Cool them working with the
Florida Department of Citrus because we were all orange
Groves forever and ever in a day.
Yep, on July 3rd, 1985, Tinkerbell's inaugural flight at
Walt Disney World. That's like, that's my girl.
Over 60,000 guests gathered at the Magic Kingdom to witness the
(45:39):
first ever flight of Tinkerbell across Cinderella's Castle.
This glittering nighttime tradition, launched during
Independence Day festivities, has since become an iconic part
of Disney's fireworks show. Well, Jen, you actually are
talking to Tinkerbell. I mean, she's right here.
You're talking to Nicole. So there you go.
On July 5th, 1988, Maelstrom opens at Epcot's Norway

(48:09):
and love today. Thanks, Jen.
Thank you so much for this day in Disney history brought to by
our good friends over at over atFuel Rod.

on, click on that link and believe it or not, guys, you
(48:31):
guys will be saving up to 15% off on your next fuel rod
purchase. So there you have it guys.
Guys, Nicole is here. So you know what?
Let's get, let's get nerdy with Nicole.
Want to dive into the science behind your favorite theme park
thrills? Curious about what makes a park
come alive? From the heart pounding physics
(48:53):
of a coaster to the immersive Symphony of sounds, music, and
even the sense wafting through Main Street, we call this
segment Getting Nerdy with Nicole.
Take it away, Nicole. I love getting nerdy, and
today's episode and everything about it has LED right into my
segment quite well. Today, we're talking fireworks.
(49:16):
Jen, look, she got a sparkler. OK, so one of my favorite
things, fireworks, not gonna lie, dream roll would be dream
job would be doing that zip lineTinkerbell thing.
Until then, I'm going to talk about some fireworks.
So yeah, very, very, very ancient concepts, fireworks, but
(49:36):
especially the theme parks in general and especially
especially Disney, they have truly perfected the art of a
fireworks show. Yes.
And Disney, I believe is the largest consumer or purchaser of
pyrotechnics in general, but specifically fireworks, possibly
(49:59):
only beat out by the US military.
But in general, Disney is the largest consumer pyrotechnics in
the world, not just the US. Yeah, there we go.
And so with that, let's get backdown to the basics of fireworks.
Whole bunch of different types. They all look really, really
cool. And your basic, basic
(50:21):
ingredients are gunpowder, whichis I think 10% sulfur.
I forget the exact other percentages.
But then there's potassium nitrate and charcoal.
Those are the black powder ingredients.
And then the rest of it is they call them stars and they're
(50:41):
little units that are usually colored or have various effects
in them that then the the fireworks shell shoots up.
And when it explodes, they actually, if they have shapes or
whatever when they're building firework, they arrange these
stars in the shape and with the way that the, the way it ignites
(51:01):
and the combustion, it just replicates whatever that shape
was in the shell. Did you?
Say, did you say the fireworks are made out of charcoal?
That makes the gunpowder. Oh, OK.
That is one of the ingredients of the gunpowder, which is a
large portion of the firework orat least in most fireworks.
So like fireworks that lift, youuse the gunpowder to create what
(51:26):
they call the lift charge. And that is what gives it the
lift to get into the air. And that as that lift charge is
going, also ignites the secondary fuse like their time
delay fuse. So that way once it's up to a
certain point in the air, that'swhen the actual component bursts
and gives us the light show thatwe see.
(51:47):
So yay chemistry because that's what gives us all the colors and
the effects you have for the most part.
There are some other newer techniques that they use in
other mix things that they do, but for the most part, calcium
gives it gives you like the orangey colors.
Sodium gives you the yellowy colors on these strontium to get
the really deep Reds and copper actually gives you blue.
(52:10):
Fireworks Barium gives you greenand the newer one that they've
that they've been using lately, Magnesium will give you white
and also aluminum will give you silvery white, but that also
creates that crackling effect. So if you hear the crackling,
like the sparkling and crackling, that is your aluminum
(52:31):
there. So the ones, the ones that sound
like like that, like like kind of like a static kind of sound.
Yeah, Yeah. So that'll that's your aluminum
there and like the really fine kind of glitter bits that tend
to do like that really slow fall.
My favorite thing they'll use iron filings to get that really,
really fine glitter E look as the as the firework lights up
(52:54):
something cool. Like I said, you have that lift
charge that is achieved by the gunpowder before it ignites the
rest of the shell and the combustion.
Disney especially has developed a pneumatic launching system so
they don't have to ignite like Imean, they, but they don't have
to use that gunpowder and smoke to actually launch the fireworks
(53:18):
shell up into the air. They use air to do that.
And that way it reduces a lot ofthe smoke.
And it's also just a cleaner, cleaner, overall cleaner burning
thing. And then you don't have to worry
about a lot of the smoke suddenly in the parks because a
lot of the launch points for theDisney fireworks are in the
parks. That's why if you go into
Fantasyland right after the fireworks show, the ground will
(53:41):
be wet. They have a system that wets the
ground and the top of the buildings that they're on.
There isn't another main launch point.
It's about a little over a quarter mile away, like behind
the park. And that's where they set off a
lot of the really the really bigones.
So I was looking at a video. If you watch from the park,
obviously it kind of like looks all together.
(54:03):
If you're watching from some of the resorts, it looks very
bizarre because you have like the big fireworks over here and
then there's the castle way far away from it.
Really kind of it gives you a brand new perspective and is
very different from that usual straightforward image that we
see the usual tableau, yes, around me.
It's kind of, it's kind of the same thing for Epcot too,
(54:25):
because Epcot, yeah. So with some of the with some of
their fireworks, with their fireworks on, they can launch a
fireworks from the from the lakelike right there, they can
launch there, right there on thelake.
They have some that are right onthe lake, yeah.
But there's also a couple more launching spots behind Spaceship
Earth. It's actually right in the back
(54:46):
of it. And I'm like, well, that's
backstage, but where exactly is?I mean, it's like like a couple
blocks away from Spaceship Earth, but that's where they can
just blow up the fireworks from there too as well.
Now for now for our Hollywood studios, that's different.
The only shot they can, the onlyshot they can do it is 2 places.
One is Fantasmic and the other and the other location is right
(55:08):
at the at Mickey's Runaway Railway Grams Chinese Theater,
which is right there in front ofthe park.
So they have little spots in theback where they can still a lot
of the fireworks back there as well.
So, and also believe it or not, there's another spot at
Hollywood Studios. Indian Jones.
Epic stunt spectacular right there.
(55:28):
So yes, they have that and othercool thing that Disney has
imagineered for us. Like I said, they have that
pneumatic launching system. Now they also like you can
ignite A firework manually. Obviously you can also ignite it
electrically, like having something that gives it a little
spark or something to light thatfuse.
(55:49):
That way you can do it from the computer.
They have wires. Disney has developed a way to
use a little computer chip, little teeny tiny computer chip
that they load into their fireworks.
It sparks like it's programmed to spark at the exact right
moment, once it's reached that exact position, the exact woman
(56:09):
in the music to then give us thelight show that we see.
So that was super cool. Obviously very expensive I'm
sure, because they're using a computer chip in each and every
firework. Very expensive.
Very expensive because. They're setting off, but it's
magical. It is.
It is quite magical. So they do have that there.
(56:29):
There's all kinds of crazy chemical technology that exists
to like, I was looking for my flash paper because I have flash
paper, but I cannot find it for the life of me because that is a
great example of the nitrocellulose, which it flashes
very brightly, burns very quickly also.
All right, Nicole. So we're talking about
nitrocellulose. So he says about it's a flashing
(56:53):
paper, is that? Well, I mean, it's not
necessarily paper. Usually it's cloth of some
variety, but it's usually cloth. But the flash paper is a good
example of how it works. You said.
Basically. You said you said that you had
flash paper like you had it somewhere.
I have a few, I have a few sheets somewhere.
I, I love those type of paper because I don't know if you saw
(57:15):
this, the there's actually a Harry Potter wand where you can
put flash paper inside the wand and you can shoot it out and it
just makes it a little nice little spark.
I'm like, oh, I'm have to get that for Jen and Eyes and we
have one fight. It's also excellent for doing
magic tricks. That's true.
Hey, hey, kids. Want to see a Bunny real quick
here? There it is.
(57:36):
No, that's not the type of of trick, but OK.
Well, the type of paper it works.
But it not a Bunny trick. Well, sorry about that.
Also, Nicole and I know guys, Nicole, some about, you know,
fireworks. And I just want to say this from
Sam Eagle. This is for a a salute to all
nations, but mostly America. So there we go.
(57:57):
Good, good words from Mr. Sam Eagle from The Muppets.
Cool. I don't know.
I'm just vibrating about that. OK, actually, But yeah, actually
Nicole, I I want to ask you thisquestion real quick because I
was earlier, earlier you were talking about how much is how
much does Disney spend on on thefireworks, right?
So yeah, that that is apparentlyclassified information that is
(58:21):
not allowed to be disclosed. But they are like the largest
consumer of Paris. I got the answer like I.
It's not been just listen to what she said.
Disney spends over $50 million annually on fireworks.
Oh no, it's a lot more than that.
More. A lot more than that, but.
Still. More than that, but still 50
(58:43):
million. But basically you lie.
Well, I got from. I got from AI.
OK, which? Means that you lie.
OK, but for which? OK, but for Wishes, which is 1
my, which is which was one of myfavorite shows at the Magic
Kingdom. Wishes actually spent $60
million for for their night showfor fireworks.
(59:04):
That's a lot generally. You're going to look it up,
aren't you? Per year, per show.
I'm not. Looking that's per night.
Like per night. Sixty, $60 million.
Greatly. You're 50 million per year.
Yeah, but who? OK, Yeah, thanks a lot of Reddit
from 2004. Geez.
Yeah, things have changed a lot.All I know is it's technically
(59:28):
classified information, but it'swell into the billions.
It's a lot, a lot for fireworks for Disney to to buy from Wow.
So there's, there's, there's that.
And it's amazing, amazing thoughthe things that they can do now,
going from like a Chinese cook several thousand years ago,
discovering these compounds thatmake this really cool, flashing
(59:51):
really cool contained explosions.
Manipulating that by putting into bamboo shoots or some other
tube or other kind of container and finding they can manipulate
it, kind of harness the energy and do stuff with it.
Thinking about when Disney firststarted, When he first opened
Disneyland. Well over like 70, something
(01:00:13):
like 70 years ago, something like that, 65 something to that
effect. When he started Disneyland, they
were going through and just by hand lighting each firework
before lifted off, doing their best to kind of go with the
music. And you have to time it exactly
right so that you can account for that lag time between when
(01:00:34):
you want the hit to happen and the music and how much time
before that you need to actuallylight the fire to make it
happened on that hit. Having that running around and
presumably like one launch site to now they have these shows
happening in sound division coming around you 360° and being
(01:00:54):
able to computer chip from a computer program.
It's, it's insane to think about.
And the amazing show that they do put on and the fact that it
is all just your basic, very basic chemistry.
You have your gunpowder, your little stars of with various
chemical compounds to give you different colors.
There's there are various types of fireworks, as we all know.
(01:01:17):
One of the popular ones is the chrysanthemum, which gives you a
big circle and then it kind of droops.
You have peonies, which look like a big ball.
They have like the circles, theyhave shapes.
They have what were some of the others horse tails.
So like it hits and then you have the balls that are like
this kind of drop and why can I not think of any of the others,
(01:01:40):
But they're like a spider one which has like the few that
burst out like those spider legs, all different types.
The whistle sound actually comesfrom like there's a compound
within a little tube enclosed within your shell.
And it's kind of like if you've ever used one of the slide
whistles, as it burns, the compound burns up and it's like
(01:02:01):
pulling the slide out on the whistle.
And that's why the pitch drops. It goes because the compound is
being burned through. The space in that little tube is
increasing. And just like physics of
acoustics, that's why the pitch drops.
You do have that glittering and crackling from the aluminum, all
the different colors, and they're coming up with new stuff
(01:02:22):
all the time. It's crazy.
I think that I think that that whistle sound reminds me of, oh,
what you call it, like one of those nerf one, one of those
nerf and the nerf balls. Yeah.
It sounds like it sounds like a representation of the Doppler
effect, but it's not at all. It actually is changing pitch,
(01:02:42):
but it does sound like a representation of the Doppler
effect. And I can't worse on my.
There it is. There you go.
All right, Nicole, was that on the fireworks at Disney?
Honestly, I could keep going forhours upon hours upon hours just
because that's the in depth nature that you could go with
(01:03:03):
the fireworks, all the chemistrythat happens, all the varieties,
all the specific nuances of specific shows.
But given that we don't have hours upon hours upon hours,
I'll cut it there and just say that.
Yeah, chemistry kids stay in chemistry class because you
learn cool stuff like pyrotechnics.
We might have to a Part 2 on pyro for just for you for for
(01:03:24):
you and Nicole, a part a Part 2 maybe towards like the new year
for because you know, New Year'sis very, you know, popular at
the Disney theme parks. So.
That OK, perfect. Then I'll get into the I'll get
into the science of the sound and all the fun things.
Sounds good. And guys, so we're going to wrap
it up with our brand new segmenttonight.
(01:03:44):
We call this, we call this segment Ride of the Week.
Thrill seekers, it's time for Remy's Ride of the Week.

This is Ride of the Week only onRemy's Roundtable, the Florida
theme park podcast. Go up, friends.
It's the time again for themes and coaster dash.
(01:04:27):
We've got the scoop behind the scenes.
We're in the loop with Imagineers and Stories deep.
It's the segment fans can't waitto keep.
It's the right of the week. Let's.
(01:05:10):
Reviews from guests in line 5 stars too short to blew my mind
and we'll chime in with our say true.
What worse what thrills and whatcould you clue right in the
week. Let's take the flight through
parchisory and wild delights Sunfastest thoughts and a magic
spark from a coaster are to a classic dark.
(01:05:30):
We'll make ready to take and podcast We we bring the hype.
It's right in the week. Alright, so this is where I
(01:06:03):
will. This is where I pick out a a
certain ride from any theme park, from Disney, Universal,
SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, any we go.
We're going old school, new school.
Any attraction that I pick will give you guys a little little
history about it, the opening date, the concept, some little
history notes on there. If this ride had any sponsors,
(01:06:25):
any global presence, some littlefun facts and we'll also give it
a we will also give this attraction a rating as well.
And if you have been on this ride, cool.
But you know what, let's go and jump right into it.
It is now time for ride of the week.
All right guys, so we are starting, we are going to be
talking about a one of my favorite attractions on Disney
(01:06:47):
property and I actually had the pleasure of actually working at
this attraction. We are talking about Space
Mountain. That's right.
And unfortunately earlier Jen and I, we were talking about, we
were talking about this attraction, you know, off air.
And I asked her, Jen, have you ever been on Space Mountain?
(01:07:07):
No, Jen says. No, Nicole, have you been on
Space Mountain? One of my, if not my absolute
favorite rides and it's magical if you're in the very front.
I like the bags. I like the backseat better on
that ride. I do.
I love the backseat. Feel like you're actually going
through space if you don't have any heads in Perennia.
(01:07:29):
All right, so this this attraction is located at the
Magic Kingdom in Tomorrowland. This this ride opened on January
15th, 1975. That's right.
The the concept for this attraction is that Walt Disney
envisioned a space themed rollercoaster as early as the 1960s
due to technical limitations. It wasn't until after Walt's
(01:07:53):
death that the idea was brought to life by WED Enterprises.
Now, Jen, if you can go back to,you know, your last this day in
Disney history, what other attraction was made by WED
Enterprises? The People Mover.
Okay. Yeah.
So the people mover. Yeah, so the People Mover was
(01:08:14):
actually part of WED Enterprises.
Also Space Mountain was the first, was the first, that's
right, the very first indoor roller coaster and the first
attraction entirely controlled by computers at the Magic
Kingdom. Not a computer, multiple
computers, which which all the multiple computers are actually
(01:08:35):
in the back of the Magic Kingdom, which is their hub
system, their tunnel system. That's where all those computers
are for the attractions and not only the the control room for
that attraction as well. Let's see what else we have for
about Space Mountain. Let's see here the sponsorship
originally sponsored by RCA, then later by FedEx.
(01:08:57):
From 1994 to 2004, versions of Space Mountain have appeared in
Disneyland, California, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo
Disneyland, and also in Hong Kong Disneyland as well.
Space Mountain was the second roller coaster ever built at
Walt Disney World after Big Thunder Mountain Mountain.
The 2 tracks Alpha and Omega areactually mirror images but Alpha
(01:09:23):
is slightly longer. No just roughly about 10 feet
the top speed for Space Mountain.
Do you guys want to take a guessHow you guys?
Would you guys like to take a guess on how fast does Space
Mountain go for mph? 45 miles per.
Hour not 45, Jen. 37 Sorry. O37 All right, 3737 for Nicole.
Jen, how fast does Space Mountain go?
(01:09:44):
30 You're right, Jen. It goes, it only goes 30 mph, 30
mph in complete darkness and tight turns to make it feel much
faster. So that's where those turns come
in and those drops come in. It's only 30 mph, which it
doesn't seem that fast like to me.
The ride is the ride is house inside a 183 foot tall white
(01:10:05):
cone structure which has become an iconic piece of the Magic
Kingdom Magic Kingdom skyline. Which is really true.
I like it. Space Mountain was the first
Disney attraction to be built outside the berm requiring a
requiring a covered tunnel entrance.
This attraction This attraction was designed by the legendary
(01:10:26):
legendary imagineers like John Hinch, Cloud Coats and George
McGinnis. The Ride the Ride soundtrack is
carefully timed to enhance each twist and turn using sound
effects, Starlight projections, and synthesize music to
stimulate a thrilling journey through the cosmos.
The rider is the only one that uses the.
(01:10:48):
Soundtrack. Yes, yes, the Disneyland one
Yes, the ride originally had no music, but the 2009
refurbishment added synchronize on board audio with modern space
soundtrack, soundtrack and new effects.
The queue line features futuristic architecture,
interactive space games and NASAinspired Mission Control
(01:11:12):
elements, making it one of the most immersive pre ride
experience experiences in the park.
So we also have we have, I have a couple also, we have a couple
guest reviews on here as well. And that is the first one says
this. It's a classic.
Every time I write, every time Iwrite it, it feels like hurtling
through the stars. The jerky movements make it
(01:11:34):
intense, but it's all it's all part of the fun.
That's right. Even after all these years,
Space Mountain still gives me goosebumps when I hear that
countdown, which you guys can actually hear that countdown
where you guys are going up the the lift system.
We're talking about a Disney Legend here.
Space Mountain is not just a ride, it's a rite of passage.
(01:11:54):
It's thrilling darkness, timeless theming and historical
significance make make it a cornerstone of Disney attraction
lined up. It's a perfect mix of nostalgia
and adventure, and it keeps guests coming back again and
again. The only reason it doesn't
scare, it doesn't score a perfect ten.
It could use just a little more smoothness in the in in the
(01:12:16):
right track for comfort. But honestly, that's part of his
charm. That's true.
That is very true about the the ride track.
It's the right track is rough, but it with a little with a
little improvements, they can they can make it.
They can make it better for Space Mountain overall.
I think for me, for Space Mountain, I will rate it a let's
see, we'll do it. We'll do it, we'll do it at five
(01:12:36):
stars. I give Space Mountain AI, give
it AI, give it a 55 stars for Space Mountain.
Jen, Jen, I knew, I know that you have not been on Space
Mountain. But after all that, after all
that information about Space Mountain, what rating would you
give it? I can't give it a rating because
I don't know what it feels like.OK.
(01:12:57):
Nicole. Five out of five.
Five out of five. So there we go guys.
So, so all of us here at the round Table, our average rating
for Space Mountain, we all give it a 5.
So there we go. All right, Nicole, thank you so
much. Thank you so much for coming on
tonight and hopefully we'll see you next time on the Round
